if you're transgender or you care about transgender people and you live in the US, you need to vote.
all those 1000+ anti trans legislation that have been introduced these past three years have not stopped, and they aren't going to just stop. they might not affect you now, but they will if republicans win the presidency and the majority in the house and senate. federal laws will be passed. that is their goal. their goal is to eradicate us.
it is February of 2024, and there have already been 495 anti trans bills considered. there were 588 total in 2023. this cannot go under the radar.
talk about this. VOTE this November.
do not be complicit in your eradication

I think I'll just say right now:
Make an effort -- a conscious, deliberate, aware effort -- to not contribute to Mob Vote Discourse.
For one thing, it's a game. We can want certain things or dislike certain aspects but at the end of the day, Minecraft is a fun, silly, sandbox game that we play for fun. For fun.
And for another thing, arguing and getting legitimately upset or worked up over Mob A vs Mob B and Everyone Hates Mob C is damaging to this community that we live in. It's toxic and estranging and divisive. It's a creeper-blast to a beautiful build. Don't be a creeper.
Have your opinions. Champion your faves. But make the effort to be a mature member of the gaming community and don't waste your time ragging on options you dislike or crapping all over the devs for not catering to your specific desires.
...and remember that literally anything can be modded. Whatever mob/function/block you want can be added to the game with a simple visit to curseforge. It's actually not that dire.

people on this website really want to imagine non-voters as smug white leftists who just hate the system, man, and not like poor and working class people whose schedules don't allow for it, black and latino communities who are intentionally targeted for voter suppression, people who live in heavily gerrymandered areas or states where their vote straight up won't count, people whose politics don't match up with the increasingly partisan party lines, or any other reason and/or combination of aforementioned reasons.
and the reason tumblr continues tilting at these windmills of "leftists are the real problem" (even though everyone was a "leftist" in December) is that all the reasons people don't vote are systemic problems that require intentional and organized solutions. there are real and material ways to put people in poll booths (or mailing their ballots), but they require work. they require making sure polling places are more accessible to voters in ways that range from making sure the polling place is ADA compliant to better signs so drivers know where they're going and better parking so they don't leave. they require voter registration drives and helping eligible felons restore their voting rights. they require educating the community on mail-in ballots and early voting opportunities. they require getting people who maybe disillusioned with federal level candidates excited about local or state level candidates where they could make a difference because if you can get them to polls for something they do feel strongly about they might go ahead and vote for the federal candidate anyway because they're already there. they require holding the fucking democrats accountable for their actions after the election to stop fucking going out of their way to alienate their voting bases, Joseph Goddamn Biden, and not sweeping those concerns under the rug as "not that bad" to make your candidate look better.
there are so many different ways to help increase voter turn-out, but they all require reaching out to your community and finding the way you can help to the best of your personal abilities. I know this because the examples I've listed above are things I've either personally done or my friends, who have different skills than I do, have done. what does not help voter turnout in the fucking slightest is taking the easy out of whining on the internet about how leftists are a threat to democracy like a goddamn conservative because you think the anarchists you see online are annoying. it's not only internet activism at its fucking laziest, and as i've said many times before, it actively stokes reactionary sentiments among moderate liberals. you are not being the measured and nuanced voice of reason for contributing to this shit. you are being lazy in hopes to sound like the smartest voice in the room and giving credence to something that is more inherently dangerous to long-term progress than the tiktok teens joking about terrorism or whatever you've decided to froth at the mouth about because you're falling for inflammatory Fox News-level propaganda tactics.

thank you for the tag @fruityindividual! I haven't written anything for close to a month but maybe this will knock something loose.
Make a 24-hour poll with the names of your WIPs and then for whichever wins, write one sentence for every vote it gets.
no pressure tagging @tortoisebore @plecotusauritus @thisliminalspace-on-ao3 and @greenvlvetcouch

sometimes i think about how the revolt music video was released in 2016 and depicted the worst-case scenario matt could dream of for 2020, and then 2020 proceeded to look exactly like that. and then i have to stop thinking about it or else i will explode into a thousand tiny bits of shrapnel

Hey, what are your thoughts on the Wave of Madness event in tgrailwar?
the main aim seems to be to get gogh in second to last place to minimize the harm she does on other servants. whoever is on the bottom who isnt her automatically gets 3 wounds and destroyed, but even if they arent on the bottom if theyre under her on the poll they take a wound. this means to keep arjuna alive he'd have to get right above her which...
im gonna be honest i dont think we can coordinate that. between trying to make sure another servant wins and making sure van gogh stays low enough to not cripple everyone else it seems like the general agreement has been to let arjuna be the one to lose to her as he has no ability to heal anyway-even if he had a command spell (he doesnt) he would need gae bolg destroyed to use it, and its unlikely that the other teams would ever agree to destroy a noble phantasm that could turn the tide of the war for a servant who hasnt won shit since the first round and cant even use his own np in return (except once against foreigner-not that it actually ever helped him, huh)
if he dies in void space he doesnt get independent action either, so we dont even get the one more turn we had thought we had to try and accomplish something
that being said, i truly and in good faith cant say that voting for him makes sense. what can we do? it would just prolong the inevitable before another bizarre event tailor made to fuck him over crops up. the narrative wants arjuna to die. it would be far better to let izou survive over him because izou can live longer
tldr:
i wish i could say team archer had a good run but i dont really believe that. and now, i think the smartest choice for the sake of everyone else is probably letting him die. i hate that. i hate that so much. but even if he lives, we wont be able to do anything.
