LOONA reaction to their actor s/o having a kiss scene

Request: heyy, can i request a how would loona react to their actor s/o having a kiss scene? i love ur writing btw. Have a good day :)

Vivi: Kahei is proud of you and doesn’t really give the kiss scene a second thought. She mostly just wants to see the movie the moment it comes out. The way she sees it, if you wanted to be with someone else you would be. But you weren’t so why worry.

Yves: Sooyoung doesn’t love it but she knows that it’s part of your job. It takes her a really long time to be comfortable around your co-star, if she ever can. She keeps an eye your co-star when she visits on set and puts an arm around you whenever she sees him around.

Jinsoul: It doesn’t register to her at first that you are supposed to kiss someone else. In fact, she doesn’t realize it fully until she’s at the premiere as your guest that you had kissed the person that first greeted her when you introduced her to the cast. For the rest of the night she gives him a mean side eye.

Haseul: Her insecurities start to set in but she acts like it doesn’t bother her at all. At the end of the day this was a big part of your job and she couldn’t bring herself to tell you it made her uncomfortable. Haseul will show you support and in turn you do your best to show her you love her as much as possible.

Kim Lip: Jungeun honestly just isn’t having it. She won’t stop you from doing your job, but she is sure to let you know she doesn’t like it every second of every day until the movie is finished filming. Every time she sees your co-star, she looks them up and down and gives them the meanest face to ever exist.

Chuu: Jiwoo is extremely excited. Not at all about the kiss but the fact that you even have the scene on the first place. Since she’s been with you from the start of your career, being able to watch you be the main protagonist makes her unimaginably happy for you. She does like to heckle your co-star whenever she gets the chance as her secret revenge.

Heejin: She wants to fight them so bad but she’s also very excited for you. She likes helping you run your lines and makes you practice the kiss scene with her until she’s satisfied that they won’t get to be kissed the way you kiss her.

Hyunjin: Hyunjin makes you eat the smelliest thing she can find in the dorm, mainly garlic, before you go to rehearse the kiss scene. She’s not here to play games. In her words, “If that stinky person insists on putting their lips on you, then we need to make sure they don’t enjoy it.” You laugh her off because you think it’s a joke but she’s dead serious.

Gowon: She doesn’t say much about it but she isn’t very happy. You can catch her in a corner glaring at your co-star from afar or trying to vandalize his face on movie posters. She’s the type to smile brightly when she hugs you, then glare at yourco-star over your shoulder to make him uncomfortable.

Choerry: She loves that you’re starring in the movie so much that the kiss completely goes over her head until she sees it on the big screen. Even then it’s just a peck so it doesn’t bother her. Yerim is way too geeked about how cool the character you’re playing is to worry about the 1 second kiss that just took place.

Olivia Hye: Hyejoo is another member that isn’t having it. She automatically decides that she doesn’t like your co-star and demands that her and her manager be the ones to pick you up from set. She keeps a keen eye on your co-star and gives you long kisses the moment she sees you to “cleanse your palate” as she likes to say.

Yeojin: Yeojin is ever the professional. She isn’t all that bothered because business is business. She knows what your job entails and she doesn’t let it bug her. She just reminds herself that she is the one you look forward to seeing at the end of your long hours of filming, and do you with lots of cuddles and kisses of her own.

VIVI

At first, Vivi would be worried about you putting yourself through pain all for some ink on your skin, however, after you explain to her that they don’t hurt as much as you’d expect and that you love having little pieces of art on your skin, she’d grow to accept them as part of you.

YVES

Yves will definitely appreciate the artistic appeal to having tattoos and loves that you’re willing to have something so beautiful on your skin permanently. Whenever you’re just lying beside her she’d trace over the lines of your tattoos with her fingers and kiss them occasionally. She finds it highly attractive.

JINSOUL

When you first reveal your tattoos to Jinsoul she’s in awe at how pretty they look dotted around your skin. They’re small reflections of your personality and the things you love. She’ll secretly wish that one day you’ll get a tattoo that symbolizes your relationship with her.

HASEUL

Haseul had never really thought about tattoos before meeting you, however, after seeing yours she’ll be really interested in the process of getting one done. She’ll go with you when you get a new one but seeing you wince with the pain will put her off. She still loves them on you, just not for herself.

KIM LIP

Kim Lip would admire your tattoos quite often especially if they’re personal to you. Will ask you a bunch of questions about whether or not they hurt, the meaning behind them and if you plan to get more. If the answer is yes, she’d definitely be down to get one done with you and even has a few different places in mind where she’d want to get a tattoo.

CHUU

Chuu will be like an excited kid at Christmas finding all these little pieces of your personality littered across your body. She’ll often stare at them when you’re just doing basic tasks and will compliment them quite regularly. She will consider getting one herself for a while but will always back out at the last minute so you just get an extra one for her instead.

HEEJIN

The appeal of tattoos is somewhat confusing for Heejin. She’ll think you’ve only gotten them to look more bad-ass and intimidating. At the same time, she likes them and thinks some of the designs are pretty. She may one day get a tattoo herself in a hidden place just to see what it feels like and she’d definitely drag you along for support.

HYUNJIN

Hyunjin will find your decision to have tattoos somewhat impulsive, however, at the same time she’ll definitely bring up you getting a tattoo related to her several times a day afterward. She’s sort of indifferent towards it ultimately, it doesn’t have any impact on your relationship.

GOWON

Gowon will be incredibly curious as to why you decided to cover up your skin with ink. Once you explain they’re little pieces of art, she still won’t fully understand the appeal but she’ll respect your decision. Don’t expect her to go with you for a couple tattoo any time soon.

CHOERRY

Choerry would respect your decision to have tattoos and would be the most accepting of doing whatever you want with your own body. She’ll find your tattoos quite attractive and it will ultimately cause her to decide to get one herself. She’ll come to you for advice on what to get and will likely use one of your suggestions.

OLIVIA HYE

She instantly loves your tattoos as soon as she sees them and starts shouting about wanting one for herself and you have to stop her from running to the closest tattoo shop. The most likely to find them attractive both on you and just in general and won’t be afraid of the potential pain.

YEOJIN

Yeojin will probably talk your ear off about different designs she’s seen online since becoming fascinated by your tattoos and you have to reign her in that you can’t possibly get every single one of them done or you’ll end up covered head to toe. She does suggest some more personal ones to you but doesn’t pressure you into getting more.

LOONA “So What” analysis and theories

It’s finally time! After rewatching and analyzing the music video for nth amount of times (lol), I’m here to bring you guys my personal analysis and theories for LOONA’s latest comeback “So What”!

So, without further ado... Let’s begin.

(Remember that these are only my interpretation and are not straight up facts. These are just theories that coincide with my personal view on the story of LOONA and the LOONAverse.)

Now that “So What” has finally been released, we have been shown the next chapter of the story of the LOONAverse, as well as a new side to LOONA we’ve never seen before.

So now that the next chapter of LOONA’s story has been released, it’s time to go through the music video and see what is going on.

Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil

An interesting observation that was made after the release of the “#1” teaser was the focus on certain facial features of the 1/3 girls; Hyunjin’s mouth, Haseul’s ear, and ViVi’s eye.

It’s been theorized this is connected to the saying “hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.”

Well, this may very well be the case for the LOONA girls now that the Moebius time loop has reset again.

Because Heejin was able to break out of the loop, the Moebius strengthened itself in order to keep the girls apart and prevent them from trying to break out again.

Yves, Chuu, and Gowon appear to be in Eden, but I don’t think that’s the case. They merged their worlds together in “Hi High”; they met to become one universe.

Perhaps this is an Earth equivalent to Eden, a paradise that was made to keep them unaware of the truth of their world. (Think of the phrase “ignorance is bliss.”) Chuu and Gowon are happy and oblivious, but Yves is a “black swan” who is treated like an outcast.

They’ve essentially reverted back to before they ate the Forbidden Fruit and realized their true selves. Again, notice how Chuu is dressed in red (a color representing love) and Gowon in yellow (a color that can represent hope).

Without the knowledge they received upon rejecting Eden, they cannot become who they were truly meant to be.

However, Yves being shown acting outside the norm (not dressed the same as the other ballerinas) might be a hint to that she’s still vaguely aware of that side to herself.

Odd Eye Circle are separated from each other, and have lost their powers, although Kim Lip’s situation might be different from Jinsoul and Choerry’s.

One thing that was extremely prominent to me in “So What” were Kim Lip’s eyes. Specifically, the color of her eyes.

She is wearing pale blue eye contacts. And it’s not just in the music video; she is also wearing them in live performances of “So What”.

Now sure, K-pop idols are no stranger to this. In fact, Kim Lip isn’t the only one doing this. Yves has also been shown wearing light colored eye contacts for this comeback.

I also noticed Heejin and Choerry both looked like they had contacts in a couple performances, and I’m sure other members have done this too. But Kim Lip’s eyes have stood out the most.

This must’ve been intentional. This isn’t the first time something like this has been done for LOONA.

Remember the Halloween special stage where five of the members covered Sumni’s “Full Moon”? They had little references to the LOONAverse lore in there, too; notably, in Kim Lip, Choerry, and Olivia.

The concept seemed to be vampires, so everyone had dark red color contacts. Except for Olivia, who had pale blue/silver color contacts.

She doesn’t possess an Odd Eye, but perhaps this is a nod to her “wolf eyes”, aka the red glowing eyes we see in “Egoist”.

Choerry’s right eye, where her Odd Eye is, was a different color from her left eye; a grey blue.

As for Kim Lip, they used special makeup and placed a scar over her left eye, where her Odd Eye is.

Again, this must have been intentional.

But what does this mean for Kim Lip’s eye color in “So What”?

Well, I think that Kim Lip may still have her Odd Eye, but it has been sealed and she’s being prevented from reawakening it.

It’s unknown whether this can be said for Jinsoul and Choerry as well, since we aren’t given any hints of them possessing their Odd Eyes. It’s possible they might have lost them completely, or if they still do have them, they just haven’t awakened them.

Regardless, the loss of their Odd Eyes means that the three have lost the special connection they shared which defined them as the “Odd Eye Circle”.

Then, we have ViVi, who is seen throughout almost the entirety of the music video with a bandana over her mouth. She’s also shown to be by herself, separated from the rest of the group.

This coupled with her lack of lines when compared to other members’ distribution of lines in “So What”, has to be more than just coincidence.

Everything in the LOONAverse has a deeper meaning; everything has a reason for being there.

I previously mentioned that ViVi might be going through another kind of identity crisis. She’s not an android anymore; she became a human in “Love & Live”. Yet her expressions in “So What” seem almost robotic.

I believe ViVi has lost something that is vital to her identity; her voice. Because she has lost the ability to speak, she does not have a way of expressing herself and her feelings.

That’s why she seems so robotic in the music video; she’s been placed in a similar situation to when she was an android and struggled to connect with the others when she first met them. Thus she turns to graffiti as an act of self expression as well as rebellion.

All of these instances show that some of the girls have lost an important part of themselves.

Hear no evil = Blissful ignorance of the world.

See no evil = Loss of connection.

Speak no evil = Restriction of self expression.

Without these vital parts of their identities, they are unable to find each other and realize their true purpose. So Heejin has to break them free, but she can’t do it alone.

Follow me

For this section, I’m going to try and set up the order in which I believe Heejin found the other members after falling back into the loop. This is just pure speculation on my part in order to get a better grasp of the story.

The first girl who I believe Heejin finds is Olivia. The two have always been connected with each other deeply; they were like day and night.

In fact, I think it was Olivia who found Heejin after she fell back to Earth. Think of it as a potential parallel to when Heejin met Olivia at the end of “Egoist” after Olivia had her fall to Earth.

Next, I think Heejin finds Kim Lip. Again, this could potentially parallel to how Kim Lip met Heejin in “Hi High”.

Hyunjin and Choerry have already found each other. They are constantly shown together, mirroring each other.

We see the tuk tuks circling around them, symbolizing them being stuck in the loop, but we also see them get on one of the tuk tuks.

They are taking control of their fate to break out of the loop.

Heejin, Kim Lip, and Olivia find Yeojin (hence we see them together above with the dancers in this scene), but realize Haseul is now missing. They tell Yeojin what has happened, so she starts rebelling at her school to break out of the loop.

(And yes, I’ve seen it been pointed out, Yeojin literally looks like pre-debut era Jinsoul.)

Her actions end up influencing the other students of the school. So yes, Yeojin did indeed start a school uprising. 😆

Next are Gowon, Chuu, and Yves.

We get this scene where Gowon and Chuu are running down the hall together, when Gowon suddenly stops and looks behind her. As if she heard something, felt something, that told her she needed to get out of the loop.

I think this was the moment she received a message, possibly from Olivia, to tell her what was going on and help Gowon regain her memories. She relays the message to Chuu, and later both tell Yves what’s happening.

Yet again, another potential parallel, like when Yves and Chuu approached Gowon with the offer of escaping Eden.

So Yves starts rebelling as well, dancing freely how she wants to.

Gowon sends out the butterflies again, in order to reach the other members.

Yves joins Heejin and Olivia, along with Hyunjin and Choerry, and find Jinsoul in the subway train.

(Here’s a “blink and you miss it” moment: Olivia rips off the choker around her neck. Just like when she did it in the “XIIIX” teaser. She’s freeing herself of any restrictions.)

The last girl they have to find is ViVi, but they aren’t able to find her as easily. Like I previously mentioned, she’s constantly shown being cut off from the rest of the group, all by herself. Wherever she is, her location is somewhere that the others can’t get to, or possibly even know about.

So, how do they reach her?

A message to ViVi

Throughout the music video, we are given several shots that have a VHS static overlay effect over them. I previously mentioned how the static effect is always associated with ViVi’s memories/dreams, so this gives us a better idea of what exactly these shots we see are supposed to be.

No joke, I went through the whole music video and counted every single time we saw the VHS static overlay effect. Guess how many times we see it in the MV?

1. The chains breaking

2. Shot of ViVi’s face

3, 4, & 5. Hyunjin and Choerry with the tuk tuks

6. The members on the subway train

7. Shot of Yeojin’s face

8. Shot of Heejin’s face

9. Brief cut to static after ViVi drops the spray can

10. The sign reading “Make it burn”

11 & 12. The members on the subway train again

That’s right. We got 12 total instances of VHS static overlay in the music video!

I believe what we are seeing is Heejin and the other members sending a message to ViVi, possibly using something like the cassette tapes, in order to reach out to ViVi and let her know what they’re doing since she’s separated from the group.

Shots #9 and #10, however, I think are ViVi sending a message back, the sign reading “Make it burn” signalling to them that she got their message.

And also serving as a sign to Olivia of what she needs to do.

Burn yourself

In the beginning of the video, we see Olivia standing with a torch on what we can presume is the surface of the moon (the real location is likely the black sand beach of Iceland).

And we are given some very interesting narration.

“Do not accept the fate of the moon. Get off the track. Reveal to the world the hidden side. Burn yourself.”

Let’s break this down line by line.

“Do not accept the fate of the moon.”

The fate of the girls have always been tied to the moon, aka the heart of the Goddess. It was their destiny to meet each other and complete the moon of their world.

Their goal as LOONA has always been to find each other and break out of the loop, but what if that alone wasn’t enough?

“Get off the track.”

The “+ +” and “X X” timelines showed us the unification of the girls with themselves and their shadows, but it’s always ended the same for them. They find each other, and they try to break the loop, but the loop resets and they’re back to square one.

They kept taking the obvious choices they believed would allow them to break free. They need to do something different and cause chaos to break the loop.

“Reveal to the world the hidden side.”

Obviously referring to the back of the moon; the hidden side of themselves that they’ve never shown before. Their shadows, their truest selves that existed deep inside of them.

If they bring that side out, they can find new potential.

“Burn yourself.”

The word “burn” has been used constantly throughout this comeback since we got the first # teaser last year. Fans kept asking the question, what would they be burning?

And now, we finally got the answer.

From the description of “So What”: “It is possible to make different waves more than you can imagine if you challenge yourself with your passion(BURN), and go forward.”

From the lyrics: “Burn your intense heart.”

Deep within themselves, was a fire that was waiting to be ignited by passion. By the desire to break free of everything that held them back. To take control of their destiny; to choose their own fate. To be who they truly are.

And finally, they were ready to burn.

The beginning of the end

Olivia realized what she needed to do in order to break the loop. She was the only one capable of doing it. It was her mission, and hers alone.

“You, who was sent by God. Destroy all things without hesitation.”

Olivia has always been connected to fire, a symbol of destruction as well as purification. And now that we’ve coupled the term “burn” with fiery passion in “So What”, we are shown a second and more literal meaning through Olivia.

What if the only way to break the Moebius loop was to destroy it before it was completed? If they destroy the loop before it can complete itself, then the time loop won’t be reset.

So Olivia does what she has to, in order to free herself, to free everyone, from this curse. She burns the moon, to destroy everything.

The moon, which we associated as the heart of the Goddess, as something the girls were deeply connected to by fate, is set ablaze.

The moon that could not shine on its own without reflecting the light of the sun; the back of the moon which no one knows about.

Now it’s been lit up in flames, burning to shine its own light.

Meanwhile, down on Earth, we see all the members watching as the sky is set ablaze, with balls of fire raining down.

(Even the dance shots, we start to see them!)

We see all the members lit up in red light, representing the fire.

Heejin’s expression in particular really stood out. Her expression is sad, even heartbroken, watching the place she had once flew high to reach, now on fire and being destroyed. But she knows deep down, this will free her and her friends.

And with destruction, there will come rebirth.

The phoenix and Haseul

Like I mentioned in the breakdown for the teasers, what we see in # and “So What” is the destruction and rebirth of the LOONAverse. In order to free themselves from the loop, they had to destroy their old world to create a new one. They had to burn their hearts with passion to ignite that fire in order to be reborn.

In the final shot of the music video, as Olivia watches the flames die down on the moon, she looks down…

And there are two white bird feathers on the ground, burning, and being revived.

It’s clear who and what this represents; Haseul. The reconstruction and revival of the bird feathers after being burned shows that Haseul has been reborn.

Just like the phoenix, who rises from the ashes and is born again stronger than before, this tells us, the audience (and all LOONAs around the world), and Olivia herself, that Haseul will be reunited with the others, and she will be stronger than she was before.

And the same can be said for all of LOONA. Now that they’ve “burned themselves”, they can rise from the ashes, in a new world where they are free to take control of their fate. To reach their highest goals.

Like the phoenix, LOONA has been reborn, stronger. And now, free.

And that concludes my analysis of “So What”!

I was so happy with this comeback and now I’m excited to see what’s next for LOONA and the story of the LOONAverse going forward. There are so many possibilities of where they can take this story, and I am all in for the ride!

There, Mina befriends eight other girls, each with extraordinary powers of their own, that will help her to come to terms with being a mutant, as well as help her learn to control her powers, which can be detrimental, even deadly, to those around her.

Another Pretty Face - Nayeon/Mina - G - Nayeon’s used to imagining herself in healthy relationships with beautiful strangers she sees on the streets. Mina’s an interesting character who keeps showing up in her life from time to time.

Nightswimming - Nayeon/Jeongyeon - T - Nayeon is first. She's the best. She's always the best. Until she's fourth. 2yeon swimming AU; in which Nayeon is the star of the college swim team and Jeongyeon is her roommate.

Compliment - Momo/Sana - G - Three times Momo complimented Sana thinking she didn’t know japanese and the one time Sana returned the compliment

Game - Nayeon/Jeongyeon, Sana/Dahyun, Momo/Mina - T - It's finally Jeongyeon's year. She's finally the starting pitcher and she's got this. At least she thinks she does. But the opposing team's head cheerleader, Im Nayeon has different plans.

A guide to handling the girl who makes you write Batman on her coffee cup. - Jihyo/Momo - G - In which Jihyo is a barista and Momo has way too much fun coming up with weird names.

Green Tea - Jeongyeon/Sana - G - Jeongyeon needs to focus on her essay for class buts it’s pretty hard when her crush is looking sad and ill in the next room. Jeongyeon can’t act on it they’re unwritten rules about falling in love with your housemates. Right?

LOONA

On That Day, I Wished It Would Blossom in the Sun - Kim Lip/JinSoul - T - In which Jungeun is the local florist and Jinsoul is the tattoo artist down the road whose smile renders Jungeun speechless, leaves her desperately searching for wherever the air in her lungs went. She thinks Jinsoul took it with her.

the coloring book - Yves/Chuu - G - sooyong was never good with children, and although she loves her niece yeojin, she wasn't particularly happy to pick her up from kindergarten. little did she know she'd meet someone really, really special there.

Drowning In You - Kim Lip/JinSoul - lifeguard jungeun saves popular girl Jinsoul from drowning. feelings may or may not have ensued.

Goal - Hyunjin/Choerry (rare pairing!) - G - Friend asked for Hyunrry AU, and this is what happened. Soccer! and Highschool!AU

Wake Up Call (It's Like Holding Hands) - Hyunjin/Heejin, background Haseul/Vivi, Yves/Chuu, Kim Lip/Jinsoul, Olivia Hye/Go Won - G - “Happy Halloween, hoes,” is the first thing Yeojin says at exactly twelve midnight, before dumping a box of spiders onto Chaewon’s head. Or, Hyunjin is in love with Heejin. Yeojin tries to "help". Just another day in the LOONA dorm.

Debut Concert Notes

It’s late and I’m super tired so I’m just gonna write everything down super quick, if it’s a little disorganized I apologize!! also it’s super long lol

OKAY, so first of all, THE Yujin of bbc was sitting in my section and everyone was going crazy, she’s super pretty and very nice, she took pics with a few fans

the concert started with a fancy vcr thing featuring all the members, but the music was SO LOUD so i was a little distracted trying not to die and didn’t pay much attention to it

but THEN THEY WERE THERE THE QUEENS THEMSELVES IN ALL THEIR GLORY!!! I was sitting kinda far back, but the venue was still very small so I could see fairly okay

they IMMEDIATELY started performing favoRiTe and they S L A Y E D, they really are as powerful in person, i cannot believe. they were wearing the school uniforms from the mv

when that song was over they went straight into performing one of the songs on the new album (idk which but it was hecka good)

after that was a talk time and they are so amazing, I love them so much. they kept interacting with the audience, and you could tell how happy they were

once they all left, thery played the trailer for 1/3 and then heejin performed vivid. she wasn’t live-singing, but still performed SO well, and goodness it was amazing

then hyunjin came out and they did I’ll Be There together, it was SO cute (lip-synced)

and then, and THEN! Haseul came out and they all three did LOVE LETTER AND I DIED IT WAS SO GOOD AND THEY WERE STANDING ON CHAIRS, AND THIS ONE WAS LIVE SINGING

next came my glorious queen herself, ViVi, and they performed the remix version of Love&LIve, wearing the outfits from that one leaked video of it! (they were also wearing these outfits during the other songs)

then they talked for a while and interacted with the audience, they are all so wonderful holy cow

then Valentine Girl played as they walked around the stage, tossing things to the audience (i was to far away to tell what it was, maybe chocolate? hyunjin said she wanted to eat chocolate, and it would make sense with the song)

after that they left :( :( :(

but THEN they played the trailer for oec and ‘twas beautiful

then, we were all shooked by CHOERRY performing LCM!!! THE SONG ITSELF! sHe was AMAzing and baUTIful!! i want that purple dress so bad

tHEN we were killed ONCE AGAIN by Miss Lip performing Eclipse with the silkiest images of an eclipse palying behind her, it was a life changing moment

and THEN was singing in the rain, and jinsoul RAPPED THE RAP LIVE!!! THE OTHERS HAD BEEN LIP SYINCING AND SHE HAD BEEN UP UNTIL THEN BUT THEN SHE DID THE RAP LIVE!! i died

then they all came out wearing these awesome black outfit things (that kim lip and jinsoul had worn for their solos) and talked for a wile, the were so cute, esp choerry

they came up to the closer stage and bLEW EVERYONE’s MINDS by performing ROSY wITH MIC STANDS!! I DIED! AGAIN!!! AND THIS SONG WAS ALSO LIVE-SUNG

then they went back to the back stage and performed Girl Front, the only song i knew the fanchant to, lol, but it was so good! I was so proud!!

then we got a fancy, new vid played that ended with a ? and we were all like tf? unTIL little miss YEOJIN appeared and performed KISS LATER, BOP OF THE CENTURY!! i love my firey frog princess

but then she just left? and i was like???

UNTIL VIVI WAS THERE AND MY HEART INSTANTLY EXPLODED AND SHE PERFORMED EVERYDAY I LOVE YOU AND IT WAS SO GOOD I LOVE HER SO MUCH AND WOULD GIVE HER THE WORLD IF I COULD AND THEN YEOJIN APPEARED AGAIN AND COVERED HASEUL’S RAP AND THEY FINISHED THE SONG TOGETHER, IT WAS AMAZING!!!

and then that’s when they talked. vivi’s korean is SO GOOD! I”M SO PROUD!! yeojin accidentally called vivi haseul at one point, and then we learned that vivi’s mom was in the audience, and she was in MY SECTION TOO!!! AMAZING!!! so in other words i met my mother-in-law today

then we got the teaser for yyxy and were all blown comPLETELY away by Chuu performing Heart Attack!!! SHE IS SO FREAKING ADORABLE!!! She did SO good!! (purple plaid outfit)

and then Yves performed New and she KILLED IT! SHE KILLED US ALL!! that girl is so powerful, i was surprised, she also kinda gives me sunmi/chungha vibes?? but she live-sang some of the last parts of her song and Slayed. she was also wearing THAT outfit from the mv

then! Gowon appeared in the audience and started singing You and Me Together!! and then Olivia joined her on the other side of the audience and joined in! They were both live-singing!! they made it to the stage together and were completely cute in every way

then they all came out and talked, interacted with the audience a TON, and then did Love4eva, which was amazing to the T

then they talked and interacted more and then did Frozen, with live-singing!! there was a cool castle snowglobe clock thing on the background

and then they played a SUPER cool vcr with clips that I assume will be from the mv?? and it was set to fairytale, super cute, i loved

AND THEN THEY WERE ALL THERE AGAIN, SITTING IN THEIR UNITS BUT ALSO AS A WHOLE AND THEY LIVE-SANG ONE OF THEIR NEW SONGS (not sure which, but it was a ballad) and vivi had TWO WHOLE LINES ALL TO HERSELF I’M SO HAPPY my girl did so gOOD!! they were wearing these nice white outfits

then they talked for a bit, and since it was Haseul’s birthday yesterday, the members surprised her with cake!! she was so surprised!!! (and a lil confused at first lol) and we all sang to her!!!! <3 <3 <3

and then they performed another of their new songs (i know this one! it was Perfect Love!! it was wonderful!!)

and then they ran off stage, BUT there were these things that had been sitting on our seats when we came in with instructions on the back, and so we were all shouting encore (sounded like ankle with the korean pronunciation) for five-million years until they came back out (wearing an outfit from the mv tomorrow!!) and performed Hi High!!! ‘twas amazing!! Vivi had a line to herself, Olivia had another killing part, i really liked it!

and then we held up the signs!!!!! they read “From my head to my toes, I’ll give you it all, even my heart” (line from favOriTe)

and then they talked and expressed their gratitude for orbit and how they were so glad to finally be debuting. yves stuck confetti to her face to look like tears but half of them (heejin, olivia, yeojin, vivi, chuu, haseul, hyunjin) were having trouble speaking bc of either trying reaaalllyyy hard not to cry, or actually crying <3 <3 (esp heejin and olivia). i also cried. it was a great time all around.

then, they had to leave :( :( :(

Overall, I can’t believe any of that actually happened. I saw them live??? foreal?????? i wasn’t dREAMING????????????????????? hhhhnnngggg i must be in heaven.

other notes i would randomly add are:

i’m a lil salty about some of the solos not being performed but oh well

YEOJIN IS SUCK A HIDDEN TRICK?? AMAZING TALENT??? GIRL CAN SING HOLY COW SHE GON GO PLACES

the background vocals were SUPER loud, so for some of the solos (and even the live-singing songs) you could kiiiiindaaa hear their actual voices but mostly just the background audio track, which i thought was annoying tyvm

yeojin is SO funny, I couldn’t understand what she was saying half the time, but she kept making everyone laugh and it was amazing and yes she does talk super fast in real life too

all of the songs up until vivi’s sounded more aegyo than they are? like they edited them or soemhting? but it might have been just me? or the speakers or smthn? idk

there were SO many people walking around making sure no one was taking pictures. like, at least two people i saw got kicked out bc of recording. is that normal for concerts in korea? idk, but I felt like i was risking my life taking these pics secretly on my phone

there were more guys there than expected, but the audience was majority female

i also kinda ran into yeojin’s fam, but didn’t interact with them at all other than to eavesdrop long enough to figure out that they know/are related to yeojin somehow

i loved the wholething

[XX] LOONA ALBUM REVIEW

Hi guys, so recently LOONA just released their repackage album called XX and I thought it would be so cool to do a little review of the songs on my first listen. This is just a review on the audio only not the visuals or dances or anything so hope you enjoy haha.

TRACK #1 XX

Of course we can’t start a LOONA album without an intro! It was such a nice introduction and it certainly set the mood for the album!!

TRACK #2 BUTTERFLY

Holyyyyy!!! First of all what an amazing title track. I mean BBC wasn’t kidding when they said that this type of music had never been done before. To be honest, when I first heard Butterfly the chorus was not my cup of tea. But as I got to listen to it more and more to stream the music video the chorus and the beat drop is one of the best things I have ever listened to. I am not exaggerating. The song was just so unique and I loved everything about it. Gowon and Choerry’s rap was my favourite part as well as Gowon’s bridge. The song was literally made for our crunchy queen. Everyone killed it, Yves, Kim Lip, Haseul, Chuu, Jinsoul, Heejin and Choerry had such beautiful vocals. And don’t even get me started on Olivia Hye, she absolutely killed her parts!!!! Also Vivi, Yeojin and Hyunjin sounded absolutely beautiful and I’m so glad that had their moments to shine. I’m extremely happy that the line distribution in Butterfly was a million times better than Hi High or FavOrite, but again it is hard to evenly distribute lines between 12 girls. So props to the producers for this amazing track!

TRACK #3 SATELLITE

Dude this song. THIS SONG. Was such a bop. It’s not even my favorite b-side on the album and I love it so much. This song had me hooked from beginning to end, the vocals, the chorus, the bridge, EVERYTHING was just so well produced. My favourite part was probably the bridge where Haseul, Yves and Choerry showed of their amazing vocals as well as Vivi’s cute “I’m talking about you”. But the chorus was absolutely amazing!!!

TRACK #4 CURIOSITY

Another amazing amazing b-side. Loona honestly does not know how to release a bad song. I couldn’t choose a favourite part of the song because I loved every second of it but I have to say that the chorus was not what I expected. I honestly love when they all sing together for the chorus parts. Chuu and Kim Lip really shined for me in this song because their vocals were stunning but Hyunjin and Gowon killed it in this song. This isn’t my favorite song off the album and honestly not what I would listen too normally but Loona has introduced me to so many different genres that I could probably listen to anything at this point.

TRACK #5 COLORS

Okay this song I have so much to say about this song. This is my favorite b side of the album actually my favorite song of the album like aahhhhhhhhh. The beat drops, the chilled rapping, the smooth R&B vibes, honestly fit my tastes perfectly. First of all Haseul sounded absolutely gorgeous. Also the harmonization with Kim Lip was so beautiful ahhh. The song is so aesthetic. Like give me a second to explain!!!! First of all the song is called “colors” and guess what all the girl’s have... COLORS. If you look up the English translation you can see that there are a lot of references made to past songs and to the other members. There are references to the mirroring of the girls from OEC and 1/3 This song is basically like another snippet into the Loonaverse and I love that so much. Jaden Jeong is actually a genius guys I have no doubt.

I have been desperately waiting to hear more about LOONATHEBALLAD since yyxy had “One Way” and the fact that this song is part of loonatheballad makes me so happy. This song came in a close second when it came to my favorite of the XX album. The song was so beautiful and all the girls sounded gorgeous. It was simple but the natural flow of the song literally took me on a roller coaster of emotions. When I heard this song I suddenly thought of Heejin especially and how she was the first person to start this amazing group and how she stayed supporting everyone else while waiting to join everyone as a group. Heejin makes me cry guys, I love her so much.

Okay guys, that is my review of Loona’s XX EP. I apologise that this isn’t really a professional review or anything these are just merely my thoughts as an Orbit. I would just like to say that I’m proud of these girls for having such an amazing comeback and they already have achieved so much and we Orbits should be extremely proud and stay positive. We will get their first win!!!!

A Simplified Guide To LOOΠΔ: Kpop's Most Anticipated Girl Group Of 2018

New and old Kpop fans alike can agree that learning a new group can be very daunting. From duos to a fully fledged, 10+ member group, things can get a little confusing during the learning process. LOONA (stylized as LOOΠΔ) is an upcoming, twelve-member girl group that every Kpop fan should get to know! However, even their "pre-debut" process has been quite extensive. With almost 30 unique music videos, three pre-debut units, various promotions, modeling for the brand "Innisfree," and 360+ "LOONA TV" episodes, it's no doubt that even just looking at the group's YouTube channel can be overwhelming. So, where does one start? I am here to give a simplified walk-through of the group's members, their back story, their unique (and detailed) debut concept, and the highlights of what to check out! Follow my lead and you'll soon become a LOONA expert— even before they officially debut! THE HISTORY Way back in October of 2016, Blockberry Entertainment, a subsidiary of Polaris Entertainment, initiated themselves as an official company for the first time to the public through a post on Naver. At the same time, they revealed their plans for a new kind of girl group and announced the 18-month long pre-debut project that would lead to their debut sometime in 2018. LOONA is also known as 이달의 소녀 (Idalui Sonyeo) which translates to "Girl of the Month." The name was tied to the concept that each of the twelve members would be revealed individually each month and release their own solo music and MV. All of the pre-debut songs released by LOONA would be streamed and sold as digital tracks. After a few members released their solo tracks, those same members would then come together to perform as a sub-unit. Each sub-unit promoted their title tracks on music programs for a period of time, and their songs were sold on physical mini-albums as well, some of them with various versions. After the sub-units were done promoting, the process would begin again with more members being introduced individually. Around the same time as gaining the copyright for the name 이달의 소녀 , BlockBerry also trademarked 이달의 소년 (Idalui Sonyeon) which translates to "Boy of the Month." This has given fans the feeling there will be an upcoming male group from BlockBerry Creative who will debut with a similar pre-debut concept. The group's icon is actually made of the first Hangul letter in each syllable of their Korean name. When rearranged, it creates the name LOOΠΔ in Romanized letters which acts as the group's international name.

THE CONCEPT The members of LOONA have been active throughout their own series of videos called "LOONA TV." There has been over 360 of them since the first one that was posted back on October 12th, 2016. They range anywhere from 20 seconds long to a minute long (with a few of them being 10-12 minutes long). They usually show the girls messing around, buying gifts for each other, or preparing for their music videos, photoshoots, and pre-debut promotional events. After delving deeper into research on the group, I came to notice unique patterns and themes. These include "mirrored" tracks, connected members, and something called the LOONA-verse! The mirrored tracks would include songs released (usually duets or a solo member featuring on another member) in-between the "official" releases. They would include: two of the same songs with slightly altered lyrics, two songs with the exact same theme, one song acting as an intro for the second song, or both songs having the same melody and lyrics but being an entirely different genre. Some of these include: Haseul & Yeojin's "My Melody" vs. Heejin & Hyunjin's "My Sunday" ViVi's "Everyday I Love You" vs. "Everyday I Need You" LOONA 1/3's "Love and Live" vs "Love and Evil" Kim Lip's "Eclipse" (Produced by Cha Cha Malone) vs. "Twilight" (Produced by Daniel Obi Klein) ODD EYE CIRCLE's "Girl Front" and "ODD Front" ODD EYE CIRCLE's "ODD" and "ADD" On top of those tracks, quite a few acoustic versions of title songs were released alongside the original. Many instances of play-on-word connections like Go WON's "ONE and only" and Choerry's "Love CHERRY motion" are seen. Chuu's debut song "Heart Attack" became a big deal for its music video with light, romantic, homosexual themes. Chuu is seen having a little crush on her fellow member Yves, whose own song lyrics, interestingly enough, mirror the lyrics of "Heart Attack." According to fans, "Heart Attack" was heard being played at various pride celebrations around South Korea. The LOONA-verse was first mentioned with the release of the second sub-unit's (ODD EYE CIRCLE) music video for "Girl Front" on September 20th, 2017. The description of the video explains the creation of the first subgroup, LOONA 1/3. It mentions that the "3" in the name consists of HeeJin, Hyunjin, and Haseul. Yeojin joined to add "/" and ViVi joined to add their "1," creating LOONA 1/3. ODD EYE CIRCLE, consisting of Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry, has a darker concept video with hard-hitting, techno-influenced tracks. Within the music videos for "Eclipse," "Singing in The Rain," and "Love Cherry Motion," various moons are seen, as well as a unique color pattern that fans began to connect to each member. The word ODD was to represent the unique style of these three, as well as the fact that ODD looks like three moons stacked upon each other. The teasers for the sub-unit also revolved around moons, and eclipses were seen within each member's eyes. Finally, the third and final pre-debut sub-unit, LOONA yyxy, made their debut through "love4eva," released on May 30th, 2018. It was filmed in Budapest and featured Grimes, a famous Canadian songwriter and music producer. The description of this video seems to be pulling the band together finally, showing how each of the solo members have joined together to make a sub-unit, and now the sub-units will combine to "create a world." While LOONA 1/3 sang about the excitement of first love, LOONA ODD EYE CIRCLE followed up with a sense of courage to go after that love. LOONA yyxy rounded it out beautifully within their album's tracks by singing of how sweet and luminous their fulfilled love is. However, yyxy member's solo tracks (noteably "Egoist" and "new"), interestingly enough, showed themes of self-worth and staying away from negative relationships. Through various video descriptions and hints dropped within each MV, fans have found a unique thread that connects some members to others. It seems as though the LOONA-verse consists of three alternate universes of some sort that will collide and complete the beginning of LOONA's story for their official debut. THE BOTTOM LINE On top of pre-debut promotions with LOONA, members Hyunjin, Heejin and Haseul were contestants on the YG Entertainment's competition program "MIXNINE". Heejin made it all the way into the top 9 finalists until changes were made by the company and the group did not end up debuting as planned. Recently as well, within another video description, it was revealed that a ballad album, entitled LOONA Ballad, was in the works and is planned to be released in 2019. There is no doubt how much great music there is to explore through LOONA, even before their official debut! A huge variety of music styles are present, from broadway-exque showtunes to jazzy electro-swing and provocative pop melodies with EDM chorus beats. Still feeling overwhelmed, however No worries! Many of the official music videos have been translated and subtitled in English. The song "LOONATIC" by ODD EYE CIRCLE is fully in English and was created to be the sub-unit's "international" title track. The official YouTube channel "loonatheworld" dropped a teaser video on June 10th showing the whole group performing together for the first time. Entitled, "(LOONA) go into Orbit," it revealed the date of the group's premiere greeting concert "Line Up" to be August 19th, 2018! This is likely when their debut music video will also be released, and fans are ecstatic at how soon it is! Due to the extensive "prep work" for their debut, the detailed concept for the group, the numerous music video and song released and more, LOONA has already earned a dedicated fan base and is considered by many the most anticipated girl group of 2018.
