Also I didn’t come up with the name of the AU, one of my friends on discord suggested it. I was just gonna call it Bone Demon MK LMAO.

HOW DO LMK CHARACTER REACT TO... S/O DYING/DEATH

PART ONE: Sun Wukong

You would probably get heavily injured during the battle against LBD, having a blast of ice stabbed into your side. It doesn’t help when your lover, under the control of LBD, also threw your body onto the ground with such force that it broke a few bones inside your body, puncturing your insides.

You weren’t able to think straight at all as the grip on your weapon was slowly becoming loose and the blood from your wound started to create a thick pool of iron

But the fight was beautiful as you watched from your deathbed. The defeat of LBD, the return of your lover from her deadly grasp, and the world being saved by your friends helped eased the pain you were in.

It made you sleep, very sleep as the battle came to an end. You closed your eyes and your breathing became short and shallow. It was cold but the warmth of the quick memories flashing in your mind helped you be calm as a bright light approached you.

Once the battle came to an end, SWK and the rest of the reincarnated JTTW gang desperately tried to find you in the rubble of the partially destroyed city. He was desperate to find his lover, given that despite being possessed, he could still feel and see everything through his jail cell of what he called his mind. He needed to know that you were safe and alive given the wound you were suffering with.

After what seemed like an eternity, Pigsy and MK were the ones to find you. Facing towards the sky, eyes closed, a faint smile on your lips, and the weapon you were using to fight LBD resting on your chest. The ice spike that impaled you was slowly dripping water and blood into the pool that had formed earlier.

SWK scrambled to your side and gently cupped your face in his hands. “No, no, no, no. Come on Peaches. Wake up.” He pleaded. “You can’t fall asleep as we’re about to celebrate! We won.”

MK and Pigsy, through their tears, watched in pain as Wukong continued to talk to you, gently shaking you as if you were just in a really deep slumber. After some time, Pigsy and MK tried to pull Wukong off of you.

But Wukong was not going to let you go that easily, not when you were just sleeping! You were only sleeping! Why was that so hard for Pigsy and MK to see…

Wukong didn’t want to cry. He had to act tough, he needed to maintain… some dignity. But the tears were already spilling from his eyes as he clutched onto you. He pulled your limp body into his chest and hugged you like there was no tomorrow.

“Please… please just wake up. I can’t lose you either…” Wukong whispered as he held onto you. “I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry.

I'm literally never going to get over how Monkey King broke out of LBD'S control because of the faith that MK had in him. Like not only the speech MK was saying, but the fact that he never flinched or turned, even when he must how known that Monkey King was approaching from behind.

And the jacket. The jacket. Like. I don't even have the words. Mk putting on the jacket with the monkey king logo.

Monkey King feels like he failed them. Failed Mk. He failed in getting rid of the bone spirit all those years ago. His plan to get the samadhi fire failed and hurt those dear to him. Then he fails again when LBD gains control of him. Then he throws MK, steals Mei, MK's best friend, and gives LBD even more power. How could anyone, let alone MK, trust him after all of that?

But Mk puts on that jacket. The jacket with his logo.

Despite all his failings (in wukong's mind), Mk still has enough belief in him to put on a jacket with his symbol on it.

MK believes in Monkey King, and that smidge makes all the difference.

#Mk's belief in him isnt a smidge. It's a MOUNTAIN #but it's the final smidge that monkey king needs to break LBD'S control #Gosh it makes me Emotional #Like I literally get teary eyed thinking about it #Theres also something to be said about how MK thinks/believes in things affects their power? #Like believing in himself makes him strong. #When he was stressed out with trying to focus so much it literally made a spooky first #His belief in monkey king allowed him to break control #Heck. Even back in the the cloud/library he thought he could beat the virus with a book and IT WORKED #Idk what to do with this info . HOW DO LMK CHARACTERS REACT TO S/O: DYING AND THEIR DEATH

PART TWO: PIGSY

Pigsy didn’t know that you were holding back a deadly wound until after the battle ended. He thought you were just shaken up by the fight against the Spider Crew ghosts. You took a pretty big hit when the Huntsman tried to hit Pigsy in the back. You had promised him that you were fine as you tried to hide the large claw mark on your back.

“Like heck you’re fine! Why didn’t you say anything!” Pigsy yelled at you. He instantly regretted it when he saw the tears filling your eyes. “I’m sorry I just… I should have been the one to take the hit, not you. I could have done something.”

Pigsy took note of your trembling state, his eyes flicking everywhere from the little scratches to the large gash on your back. When you tried to stand up and stumbled at the process, he caught you and held you.

“Come on, sweetheart, you… you can’t do this to me.” Pigsy begged as you gently clutched onto his sweater. You just smiled and whispered an apology to him. You felt your eyes getting heavy and it scared you. 

You didn’t want it to end as this and Pigsy knew that too. He cradled you in his arms, trying to soothe you. Tears fell down both your faces as he tried to keep calm. It only made it worse when you started to laugh at the little funny memories that started to replay in your mind. 

As your body grew limp, you looked into Pigsy's eyes and spoke; “I’m glad that you… you were in my life, Pigsy. My dear husband, my love.” You whispered again and again until you passed on.

After your funeral, Pigsy busied himself in his noodle business, barely taking any breaks or letting MK help him do anything. MK and Tang became worried for him and insisted that he should be taking some time off to mourn. That made the pig demon become angry and kick the two out of his shop.

After some time, Pigsy started to feel depressed. He missed your presence, always sitting down next to Tang eating noodles, or helping him in the kitchen. He missed the way you would give him nose kisses every time he delivered you a bowl or when you would just hug him from behind as he was fixing your bowl.

He couldn’t handle it anymore. When MK and Tang walked back inside the restaurant, Pigsy was already breaking down crying. Tang and MK quickly pulled him into a hug to try and soothe their friend. Together, they mourned the loss of a friend, a partner, and a parental figure. 

Pigsy made a shrine for you, decorating the seat you occupied with flowers, a bowl of rice and incense, and pictures of you. The main picture frame was a picture that Pigsy had secretly taken of you when the two of you first got engaged; a genuine look of surprise when you found the engagement ring in your bowl of noodles.

Occasionally he would even leave a bowl of food on your shrine and take a seat next to it, talking about his daily adventures with MK, the complaints he heard from customers, and what has been happening in general. Sometimes, when it was quiet, he could almost hear your laughter in the soft wind, tickling his ears. But it left a warm comforting feeling in his heart knowing that you could be here right now even if he can’t see you
