So i watched the new spiderman movie (like a week ago lolll) and i am finally over it enough to share my toughts so BUCKLE INNN

first of: my baby boy MILES MORALES WHOOP WHOOP

Look at him and tell me he isn't the best. You cant. Ik you cant bc Miles is the best and he needs a damn break man. He is just a kid, like?? He's literally my age (15, i think) and he hit SO close to home in EVERYTHING for me. His jokes, his relationship with his parents, his feelings EVERYTHING. I am very passionate about him. And like, i get it that he shouldn't stop canon events but thats his father that we're talking about. And you can see that miles adores his parents. And given his personality he obviously can't stand back. And miguel had no business saying all that (i'll have more to say about that so bare with me please🙏)

In conclusion: if you don't like miles i do not trust you

ANYWAY

the hate she gets is ATROCIOUS. I understand the whole "she betrayed miles" but did she not get a whole group of spider ppl to HELP miles?? Or did y'all skip over that part? What's crazy is the fact y'all hate on gwen and i haven't heard a word abt peter or miguel? Y'all biased as hell!!! She's just 16 and she went through a lot too. And she obviously cares for Miles. All thr hate she's getting is concerning and i will defend her w my life. Miles has all the right to feel betrayed though, I won't argue against that cuz i can't. Ofc, everyone has different opinions, but I feel like she wouldn't get half the hate if she were a man (which is that case with miguel, but i'll get to that, pls don't kill me cuz ik a lot of y'all love him)

CONCLUSION: we love gwen here.

He's handsome i won't lie to you, but not rlly my type now let's get into it.

I don't think what he did is right. The way he handled that situation is just wrong, in my opinion. And so many ppl excuse that bc he's 1) hot (which is the case in so many other fandoms, with ppl bashing female characters while uplifting male characters for th same actions) and 2) bc of his trauma. But, heads up, trauma is and never will be an excuse. Trauma is an EXPLANATION. There is a very big difference. He went through something traumatizing and that is awful, but he didn't try to understand miles. Like i said, miles is 15. And i get that miguel was just trying to protect the universes, I understand that. But when he was calling Miles a mistake, that he never should have been bitten by that spider, acting as if it was MILES'S fault?? Not the best way to handle that, which, again, trauma. Not an excuse, but an explenation for his actions. I can't find myself to rlly like him just now. Maybe in the next movie. I can't just like a character bc they r hot. And I know this will make some ppl mad, but AT LEAST try to look at this from my point of view, and at least try to understand why i don't like Miguel. If y'all like him, that's fine. But my boy miles deserved better.

Still, I think Miguel is an intresting character with so much room to grow and I really hope to see that.

Hobie might be the coolest, and kindest and best character. I don't think he has done a bad thing in that whole movie. He helped miles, he helped gwen and by helping gwen he helped miles AGAIN. I love his vibe, too. His relationship with miles is perfect, like brothers. And his friendship with gwen is adorable, they r similar with similar intrests if you think abt it and i do hope we get to see him again in the next movie, maybe get a little more on him and his backstory, maybe his canon event(?). He's a beauty, what can i say💕💕

CONCLUSIONN: i love him ur honor

Look at this cutie. Tell me he isn't a lil pookie cutie and that he wouldn't give the best hugs.

Given his personality, it makes sense that he's 13-14 but damn given his looks i would think he's 16 (which means he gets the prize for not looking your age since he had half the fandom fooled).

The edits i've seen of him r the best and the "Chai tea scene" was so funny, btw.

hi girlies so I have lots of harry concepts in my notes app and i hate that they're just sitting there so here's the first installment! I'll post the rest of them sometime soon but for now here you go :)

harry would literally help you become the best version of yourself 😔 always reminding you that it's ok to say no and it's ok to prioritize yourself sometimes and it's ok to ask for what you need or want 😔 and he would be the best at doing it in little ways like asking what you want to do instead of just letting him make the decisions 😔

in that met gala pic he looks like the mysterious son of a rich oil mogul whose family has probably killed people but no one does anything bc they basically own the entire town

ok BUT harry would be so caring and ... idk motherly 😭 like he would always be watching you to make sure you're comfortable. like if you fell asleep before him and he noticed how tightly you were curled up or that you were shivering he would go 🥺 and grab another blanket and tuck it around you and cuddle you so close to keep you warm 😔

OHXHKXGKDKTDKGDGLF ADDING YOUR LAUGH TO THE END OF A SONG!!!! I HAVE NEVER LIKED MY LAUGH SO LIKE WHAT IF HE KNOWS THAT AND THINKS YOURE CRAZY BC HE THINKS ITS THE MOST AMAZING SOUND IN THE WORLD so then he somehow manages to get a recording of it and adds it without telling you!!! then as you're listening to the full album once it's finished (but before it's released to the public) you hear it and your head snaps up and you're like "is that????" and he blushes SO HARD and nods and quickly says "if you really hate it I won't keep it, we have a version of the song without it-" and you cut him off and say "no ... it's cute i like it" and he's so happy that you finallyy like your laugh as much as he does

um excuse me? if harry gets comfy on top of me that's it. that's the end. he's crushing me? ok. fine. he can. he let out a comfy sigh so no i will not be telling him to get up. I will let him crush the life out of me and I will not complain. I will gladly lie there as the life slowly drains from my eyes as long as harry is comfy <3

what if you were reading a book like that and you were in the middle of a ✨spicy✨ scene and harry walks in so you slam the book shut. and he wasn't even very curious before but now he has to know so he narrows his eyes and slowly walks over to you. and you smile nervously and try to put the book under your leg or something but he's too fast and he grabs it. and says "what do we have here?" and you're like "nothing just a book :)" and he laughs and says "oh really? just a book? why'd you close it so fast then?" and you just of fidget and he opens it to the middle, about where you were reading, and finds the scene. and he gets that smirk on his face and says "so this is what you do in your spare time I see" and you blush and say "no it's not I don't know what you're talking about" and he laughs again and says "no?" and sits next to you on the couch ✨all up in your personal space✨ and says "let's read, shall we?" and starts reading the filthiest scene out loud. and why can i picture him pulling you onto his lap while he reads so he can hold you still and talk right in your ear 🤭🤭 and then when he's done with that scene he closes the book and says "i think we should act that out, what do you think"

you bitches better buckle up bc the trip to georgia went from bad to horrible VERY QUICKLY OSIDFLJSLDFK

SO just to note after i posted yesterday he came to the couch and started cuddling me while watching tiktoks and we were chatting and it was cute!! and i woke up feeling really good actually!! i was really confident that we were going to be able to enjoy the trip even without the intention of pursuing anything romantically afterwards! today we had plans to go around and look at atlanta, go thrifting, probably eat out too, etc. so i was really excited! and originally we were going to go to savannah today to go to the beach but then that went out the window alksfjslkdn

so i went to sleep the night before way earlier than dan, he had a presentation at 8 AM and he still hadnt completed the powerpoint for it. personally i thought he shouldve gone to sleep right when he did but he stayed up until 8 AM to present and then knocked out after. the consequence of that is that i woke up at 9 AM and was waiting for him to wake up all the way until 3 in the afternoon ASLKJLSKFDS

so finally he wakes up, i was kinda hoping that he would initiate the effort to actually go out like we had planned, especially since in our conversation on the drive home yesterday i had told him it really sucks to always be the one making the first effort literally all the time (not just with him but in general), and he said he would try to be more proactive to make me feel appreciated (that didnt happen aksfjlkf). so yeah no after thirty minutes of him not saying anything to me after he woke up i go ask him if hes still down to go out, and how i was waiting for him to wake up bc i didnt want to leave him alone in the aptmt to go thrifting cuz i thought that was mean, etc. he gets ready, we head out, he asks to drive my car and i say no bc he keeps breaking like a fucking maniac after id told him specifically not to bc it stresses me out !! we get in and head out

thrifting was pretty cool actually, there was like a LITTLE bit of awkward tension but it wasnt that bad, the thrift stores were super cool and i found some pretty nice stuff while i was there B) he also bought a bunch of stuff he liked so i thought it was a win win! we went and got food after, then we headed back to his place, which is where shit REALLY hit the fan

when we get back to his place he goes straight to his computer again. i go to the couch to eat, and after like a half hour of literally nothing–no chatting, no cuddling, he didnt even eat with me we just ate separately– i started looking into getting an airbnb and meeting other guys to try and salvage the trip. i told myself if he doesnt try to make a move to make me feel welcomed by the time my laundry was done, ill leave

THEN..... he starts getting dressed, and he heads to the door and he says to me “so youre gonna have the place to yourself for a little bit, im going to go out with some friends” and he leaves me alone in his house. this was extra ironic for me bc i remember before i had started the drive up and we were working out the details, i asked how long he would want me to stay, and he told me after wednesday he had a lot of stuff for school so he wouldnt be able to give me his attention or focus so he would feel bad if i stayed any longer; i said that that was totally fine and i thanked him for being considerate. and for that whole sentiment to be thrown out the window (if it hadnt ALREADY been bc he was just ignoring the fact that i was sitting on his couch twiddling my thumbs) when he left me alone in his house- yeah just comedy bitch COMEDYYY

and so i try to look into getting an airbnb and turns out i CANT bc my number is still linked to somebody elses fucking account and airbnb doesnt let you update it without access to the original account. at that fucking point i was pissed and i didnt even care about trying to salvage the trip so i just decide to drive home

i start getting my stuff ready and i messaging my friends about all this stuff, i end up facetiming my friend to tell them about it and their like “this is absolutely infuriating. youre not mad enough for me. burn that house down. steal his shit.” LOLLL it was just a mess!! i get all my stuff ready, i pack up my car and i leave

this one dude on grindr i was chatting to earlier had invited me over, i take him up on his offer and he was really sweet! we chatted about anime, played some video games for a little bit, his cat was adorable and it was a nice little thing. i was only there for an hour or so before i started heading home again

yeah all in all the trip was preeetttyyyyy much a bust, theres a lot of shit that pisses me off when i think about dan now (he was a huge hypocrite (he got mad at me for calling him out when he tried to excuse his behavior by saying it was bc of his trauma, but then made jokes about my r*pist.......), tbh kind of a sociopath, took a lot of pride in telling me about how hes so toxic and gaslights people all the time and i was just confused as to why he thought that would make me think any better of him at all/???, had a really concerning sense of humor that like took joy in suffering “ironically,” etc.) but i dont want to be resentful or spiteful or anything and honestly im not even that mad AT him!! he has a lot of potential in life and hes still super interesting, he just needs to heal a lot and GO TO THERAPY bc jesus fucking christ

Legit had to look up how to flirt for this one because ya girls got no experience and I am DEFINITELY not confident lolll but anyway i have a lot of maeve requests that I’m excited to get to but this was the one that spoke to meee also i mixed the two together because that’s just how it worked out so i hope thats okayyy anyway go read it lol

You were never much for flirting. That was, of course, before you knew Maeve.

You had been playing this game with Maeve since the day you meant her; something about her sparked something in you. You were not necessarily confident, but something about her made you feel like your best self. And even though Maeve hardly thought of you in the way you thought of her, being in her presence was enough. Even if it was only for a few moments each day.

You were mostly teasing her: sending her a wink in the hallway, blowing a kiss to her at her locker. She would only laugh, roll her eyes, sometimes flip you the bird with a smirk. She never told you to stop, never cursed you out angrily or seriously; if she did, you would’ve stopped immediately.

“I think she likes it a little too much,” Eric told you once. Even though you shook him off, told him there’s no way, it was just teasing…a spark of hope erupted in you, and you almost believed him. You spent more time with her, just joking around during class or during break, trying to get her to blush. You succeeded sometimes, and when you did, you tried even harder to keep the pink in her cheeks; somehow, she would pull the strings on you and you would cover your face in embarrassment. But you liked it, the thing you two had, the little quips and inside jokes and playful banter.

And then, she started dating Jackson, and you pushed yourself away. You didn’t tease her after that; in fact, you almost ignored her. It hurt you a bit too much to admit how involved you had gotten in the silly games you played, but you knew it was true. You really liked Maeve, and seeing her with someone else was close to torture. She didn’t seem to mind your absence - at least, that’s how it looked to you. Later she would tell you how she would look for you over Jackson’s shoulder, waiting for you to flirt with her in the shameless way you did.

But today, you hadn’t talked to her for a while. You were walking up to school when you saw her leaning against one of the brick walls that overlooked the main schoolyard. She looked upset, but like she was trying to hide it. Before you could change your mind, you walked over to her, taking the spot next to her with a sigh.

“How nice to see you, Wiley.” You peaked at her from the corner of your eyes. “I can’t even remember the last time we spoke. We need to change that.”

Maeve let out a light snort and you could tell that she rolled her eyes at you. You didn’t mind. “You haven’t talked to me in so long. Is that all you got?”

You felt a pang in your chest at her words, but smirked nonetheless. “You know it isn’t.” Tilting your head, you kept your eyes in front of you, trying to focus on your peers as they walked to the school.

As you took a deep breath, you tried to shake the strange feeling that lingered in your heart. You guessed it was awkwardness, being that you haven’t talked to Maeve for a while and she had called you out on it. Could she have missed me? No, you shook out the thought. She was with Jackson. Even if she did miss you, it didn’t matter in the way you wanted it to.

But you could also feel that there was something wrong, something that she had been thinking about for a while. You didn’t ask her about it, and instead decided she might just want some company. You didn’t expect her to tell you what was wrong, but she did it anyway.

“I broke up with Jackson.” Maeve spoke suddenly, and you turned to her in disbelief. “I don’t know why I’m telling you that.”

You cleared your throat, trying to ignore the bit of hope that rose in your chest. “Was there a reason?”

Maeve bit her nail, like she always did, and shrugged. “I don’t know.”

The silence between you two was a bit awkward, and you knew it. You cleared your throat, trying to think of something to say. “Love is weird. It’s like…softball, in gym. One minute you’re standing in the outfield, watching the pitcher and wondering when you’ll get to go inside. The next minute there’s a ball coming towards you, and you get smacked straight in the forehead because you didn’t raise your mitt in time.”

She looked at you with a strange smile. “Was that a personal experience?”

You shrugged. “Doesn’t matter. The point is, love is unpredictable. You could be ready for it, and nothing could happen. You could be ready for it, and catch it before it hits you. You could be totally unprepared and dodge it. Or…vice versa.” You smacked your head with your hand, trying to illustrate your point.

“That was a very strange analogy. But…it was a good one.” She laughed, her eyes sparkling; she turned to you slightly, a look of false amazement taking over. “Who would’ve thought you would give good advice?”

You snorted, deciding to play along with her.“Are you kidding? I give great advice.”

“Sure, sure.” She let her smile die down, turning back to her nails with a frown. “I guess I never really thought of…talking to you. You know, like normal.”

“Yeah, well, that’s your loss. I’m a delight.” Maeve shook her head, looking down at her feet. You watched her with a growing smile, just realizing the small patches of pink on her cheeks.

“Was that a…” you smiled wider, turning your body fully towards her. “blush?”

“Shut up.” She leaned forward, pushing your shoulder slightly with her hand. But instead of pulling away, she stayed close; her hand moved down slowly, ghosting along your arm and lightly grazing your hand as she pulled her own to her side. You took a sharp intake of breath, trying not to breathe as she was so close to you.

You blinked, half expecting this to be a dream. Like you would wake up and come to school, and Jackson and Maeve would be together and you would be forever alone. But when you opened your eyes again, she was looking at your lips, slightly pouting her own. You felt her breath on your face, and your heart was racing, and you couldn’t believe this was happening. Was this really happening? But before your lips could meet, the bell rang.

“Shit,” you cursed, both of you jumping at the shrill and unwelcoming sound. You turned to see Maeve grabbing her books and fast walking away.

“See you later!” She called, but she was clearly avoiding your eyes.

“Shit.” Grabbing your own bag, you went towards your class, replaying the events in your head like they didn’t really happen, like you were finally at the peak of your imagination. But what happened was real, and that might’ve been even worse.

All day you were thinking about what happened: did Maeve really want to kiss you? Or was it because she was confused about her feelings, and about Jackson? You were freaking out in nearly every class. You didn’t tell anybody, partly because you didn’t know if it was just your imagination, and partly because you didn’t want to be let down again.

After being that close to Maeve, all of your feelings resurfaced. You really liked her, a lot, and if she didn’t feel the same way, it might crush you again.

The final bell rang, and you left your class with a million thoughts. Should I talk to Maeve? Tell her how I feel? What if she thinks I’m joking? What if she gets mad at me? What if she’s already back with Jackson? What if today really was a dream, and I’m going to wake up in an alternate reality where I’m 30 and alone-

As you turned the corner, you bumped into something hard. Rubbing your forehead, you cursed. “Jesus Christ.”

You frowned, feeling a bump already form on your head. You looked up to the culprit, ready to push past them and call it a day. But your eyes widened at the person in front of you.

“Maeve?”

She was holding her hand to her forehead, same as you, but her chest was heaving like she had been running. To find you? No, it couldn’t be.

“Bloody hell, are you running a marathon? I think you’d be in first place at that rate, for sure.” You gestured to the mark on your forehead, rubbing it lightly with a wince. You were avoiding her eyes, mostly because you were afraid that your feelings would spill out in one glance. But you couldn’t help it: she was looking at you like you were the only thing in the hallway, even though there were many other kids.

You cleared your throat, suddenly nervous. “Did that bang give you head trauma or something?”

“I didn’t just break up with Jackson out of nowhere.” She said abruptly, watching your face intensely. You shifted on your feet, unsure of what to say.

Blinking dumbly, you frowned. “Okay-“

“I did it because I have feelings for someone else.”

Your heart stopped. Could she be saying what you thought she was saying? No way. You frowned harder with a shake of your head, trying to gather your thoughts.

“Come on.” She gestured to you with a smirk. “You’re always flapping that mouth of yours. Say something.”

All you could do was open and close your mouth, trying to find something, anything, to say.

“I don’t know what you’re trying to tell me.” You uttered, hiding your eyes from the gaze that made your stomach drop.

She let out a frustrated groan and took a step towards you. “This is what I’m trying to tell you.” You nearly stepped back as she placed her hands on your face, leaning in slowly to capture your lips. But before you knew it, you were meeting her halfway, causing an explosion of sparks in your stomach. You placed a hand on her waist, your lips moving in a rhythm you didn’t think was possible. This wasn’t possible. All this time of wanting to be with Maeve, and finally, it was happening.

She pulled away, leaning her (injured) forehead against yours.

“You were my softball,” she whispered, a laugh escaping her lips.

You recalled your horrible analogy that day, not believing what she inferred. “Are you serious?” You said, looking into her eyes with confusion clouding your brain.

She rolled her eyes with a smirk and whispered, “No.” The sarcasm laced in her voice disappeared when she caught your lips again, this time slower, more meaningful. You smiled into the kiss, half because you were finally with the girl you hadn’t stopped thinking about since you met her - but also because you knew that teasing her would be a lot more fun when you could do it behind closed doors.

SuspiciousPopsicle - 10/08/2017 Jack tries to break the awkward silence by starting in on the story Gabe told earlier--'the way i remember it was...' so and so. the stories they remind themselves of with Jack's little girl safely tucked in bed are darker and sadder and harsher than either would have told her. Jack pours himself a drink as they talk. he pours gabe one too, without asking, and they take turns pouring after that. The minutes turn hazy, blurring into one another. The kitchen is too warm, they're sitting too close, leaning heavily against each other, shoulder to shoulder, heads bent over their glasses like conspirators. Neither knows who initiated the kiss. It's slow at first, hesitant, an old habit picked up in the midst of drunkenness and shared loss. It grows heated before either fully realize what's happening, but, by then, neither wants to stop. Gabe remembers the offer of a bed. He lets his full weight press against Jack, knocking him slowly from his chair. When they fall together, they don't hit the floor, but dissolve through a cloud of nanites and land with a bounce on the cheap mattress. Shadow stepping works the alcohol right out of his system, and Gabe finds his head clear. Jack is still kissing him, however, needy sounds spilling from his throat as his hands clutch at Gabe's coat. It would be easy--so easy--to just let go, blame it on the alcohol tomorrow. The temptation is too much to resist, and Gabe bears down atop Jack, kissing him back with fervor as if this will be his last chance to regain everything he lost.

Then, Jack's fist catches him in the side, winding him, and his legs are suddenly kicked out from under him. Gabe finds himself on the floor, staring up while Jack wipes his mouth with the back of his hand. Some trick of the lights behind him make his eyes look incandescent with his rage.

'What the FUCK was that for?' Jack demands. 'I've been busing my ass for YEARS to try to catch up to your goddamn idol, and NOW you want something from me? What? Is it finally sinking in that I'm the CLOSEST you're going to GET? IS THAT IT?'

'Jack, listen--'

'FUCK YOU, Reyes!'

He tries to step past out of the room, but Gabe is quicker. He grabs Jack and manages to drop him. They scuffle briefly. Jack's anger makes him hard to pin down, but it also keeps him from using his head to fight. Eventually, Gabe gets the upper hand and keeps it. He's got Jack pinned to the floor beneath him, glaring poisoned daggers and breathing too hard. There's a glassy sheen to his eyes that Gabe is equal parts amazed and horrified to realize are the start of tears.

'Jack, listen to me! Rogers is good, but he's not the guy I want on my six. He's not the guy I want to trust my life to. He's not the guy I want at my side for however long I'm on this earth. That's you, Jack. That's all you.'

'No. Jack...' Gabriel sighs, staring into Jack's eyes and seeing the conflict there. It kills him that he's inadvertently caused so much pain. 'How can I prove it to you? If I'm going to lose you, I at least don't want to watch you go, knowing that you couldn't even trust me.'

That gets a response. Jack looks away, but not before Gabe sees the fire start to die down. '...I trust you,' he mumbles.

'But not about this?' He's still lying on top of Jack, keeping him pinned to the floor, but he shifts to make himself more comfortable, folding one arm across Jack's chest to nestle his chin into, and curling his other hand over Jack's shoulder. He rubs gently at the tense muscles, trying to offer some reassurance that his affection is genuine.

'I... I don't... It doesn't make sense,' Jack insists. 'You love him.'

Gabriel takes a moment to consider, embarrassed by the strength of his old feelings about Steve and the effect they had. 'I love the idea of him. Never really got to know the man. I know you, though, and you're every bit the hero he is. I love you, Jack. Not just the idea of you, but you. Your dedication and drive, your strength, the way you look out for your team. I love your recklessness, even though you've scared the hell out of me often enough. I love the way you can fall asleep anywhere, even if it takes you a while to nod off. I love the way you're so stupidly picky about your food. I love your dumb, bleached blond hair.' He closes his eyes and nuzzles Jack's chest. 'I love feeling you close to me, love the way you smell, love how warm you are.' Playfully, he squeezes one of Jack's pecks and peeks up at his face for his reaction. 'Love your chest. I love you, Jack. Have for a while now. Surprised you didn't pick up on that the way you picked up on that silly crush.'
