What job/hobby would Lace choose, if he could?

Very happy to talk abt Lace bc I've been thinking abt him a lot (valentines day is the main cause of this as it always makes me think of him <3)

Depending on when in his primary storyline, he'd probably give several different answers! Underground, he probably would've loved to work at Grillby's being one of the, uh, "servers", but unfortunately, he got roped into being in the guard before he really got the chance to consider anything else.

Post surfacing in a non-mv setting, he'd honestly feel a bit lost for a haute minute, but then he might get into something like journalism as a writer or photographer honestly! Sometimes i do wonder if he might become an accidental model, which is actually partially tied to the next answer-

While it may also eventually happen in a non-mv setting, i think it would happen for certain or more quickly in a mv surface setting, but he'd become a dancer! Though it's not something he realizes he wants to do until he’s already doing it lol, it was recommended as a sort of physical therapy type activity to help him find a healthier coping mechanism for his magic issues, and once he started, it wasn't long before he completely fell in love with it.

I say that ones partially tied to the model idea because a looong time ago, I'd had this whole little mental movie abt him getting asked to participate in a shoot/interview by a magazine guy who'd seen him dance. Since he’s generally out of the loop of mainstream media, he doesn't realize it's actually for a huge magazine, a story about monsters and how they've been finding their way settling into surface life amongst humanity.

Idrk how all that stuff works so you'll need to suspend your disbelief a little for that one, but basically just generally the idea of getting "scouted" and not really realizing it until suddenly people are calling and emailing him and asking about his "agent" and he’s like um hello??? What- but that one isn't as certain as the former two, which are definitely more solidified as part of his lore 👍

So basically that's all to say he doesn't usually pick jobs so much as fall into them lmao, he gets a little overwhelmed, but really, his heart lies in interacting with others and seeing the world. Very curious and friendly this one 💖

(what happened with this ask right here is: I started answering it a looong time ago, stuck it in my queue without finishing it because I have wayyy too many drafts and anything I put in there is as good as lost, it got posted because I messed up the scheduling, I realized I had a gross draft posted on my blog, I screenshot it in a panic and deleted the post itself, and then forgot about it because it was in my computer's captures folder, and I also have too many of these - hence the weird presentation. I feel like this poor ask's tale is more interesting than anything I have to say lmao.)

So, as a big fan of the Jedi Order, I have seen the Prequels and TCW many, many times. I think my 'Love Encouraged' series testifies to that lol. I have also seen the OT about 3 times, I think? And maybe 2 times for Rebels, idk. My EU knowledge isn't quite what it could be, but I've flicked through the major TCW tie-in books. Now, it is possible that that expression is used somewhere in one of those, but I don't recall it. And I can say with the utmost certainty that I do not remember that phrase EVER being used in canon.

(By the way: you know what is often a good indicator of something appearing in canon? Gifs. If you've never seen gifs or captures of it after a few years in the fandom, chances are it's a deformation of something else, or fanon. Ever seen gifs of Clones speaking Mando'a? Nah. EU + Fanon. Gifs of Master-Padawan pairs speaking entirely through telepathy? Nah. Fanon. Gifs of Jedi verbatim telling someone not to feel? Nah, it's a deformation of other things they have said that get interpreted a certain way. People make content around stuff that is significant. 'Do or Do Not'? Giffed. 'It's not that we're not allowed to have those feelings, it's natural'? Giffed. 'Be mindful of your thoughts'? Giffed.)

Now, what I think happened with that expression is that it started out as a saying in a fic or a book that got taken literally and then passed around. Like how "the bond between Master/Apprentice is strong," and now you have this whole thing in fic about near-tangible links in the Force that can get ripped out, get cut, start fraying, etc... It's not a canon thing.

The problem with that sentence is that it's so incredibly vague that you can just about slap any meaning onto it, and no I have no idea what writers are trying to convey with it, because chances are they aren't talking about the same thing!

The two Jedi teachings I can think of that consistently use the word "feelings" are these ones:

"stretch out with your feelings" (ANH, Obi-Wan to Luke), "be mindful of your feelings/thoughts" (TPM, Yoda to Anakin, AotC Obi-Wan to Anakin), "use your feelings" (RotS, Yoda to Obi-Wan)

"I cannot allow my feelings to cloud my judgment" (TCW S7, Obi-Wan to Bo-Katan)

No talk of suppressing them. No talk of ignoring them.

Now, I understand how you could go from "Jedi should not let themselves be controlled by their negative emotions" to "Jedi should let go of their negative emotions." Tomato-Tomahto, right? It's just words.

And then you can go from "Jedi let got of their (negative) emotions" to "Jedi release their emotions." And where would you release something as intangible as emotions? In the Force.

It's essentially a game of telephone. And then somebody picks up this new formulation from a fic, doesn't know it's made up, and rolls with it, and boom, you have a new part of Jedi teachings that nobody would be able to even define because it can mean anything really. Does the author see it as a good thing? A bad thing? What does it look like in practice? Who knows.

tldr: I don't even know what the concept is supposed to mean because it depends on the writer, but it's not canon (as in, not in the movies + TCW, and it's not in Rebels either).

Since you've gotten a couple asks about him (ok only like three but still lol-) and you seem pretty up to date on all the lore and stuff i was wondering if you could tell me why Schlatt is considered canonically dead?

Like i know this happened a looong time ago now but with the possibility that he could be brought back it got me thinking about why he was 'dead' in the first place

Because iirc his only canon death was the heart attack, right?

I've seen people saying his death to Quackity was also canon, but then i think i remember a clip/tweet going around from one of the ccs saying that it wasn't (or maybe i made that bit up idk?)

And then there was that festival death but that's definitely not canon because it's been confirmed multiple times that Tubbo's death was the only one planned and therefore the only canon one

Also I've seen a couple posts saying his ban was treated like a canon death but idk about this one either cause in his first president speech he said something like 'and you know what i said, the day that i got unbanned from the Dream SMP..' which kinda implies he didn't die but was also banned in the lore universe as well (maybe like an exile? or something idk?)

Uhhh yeah anyways so this got kinda long sorry about that aha you just seemed like the best person to ask? Idk, obviously you can ignore this if you wanna it's not gonna matter if he gets brought back soon anyway

And i realize it's probably cause CC!Schlatt didn't want to rp anymore (or at least that's what I've seen around) but i just got curious if there was ever a canon explanation for it? Or if he just speedran through all three of his lives in one go

Anon I have something to confess: one of my greatest flaws as a person is that I absolutely love explaining my hyperfixations to people. The difficult part is stopping me. So you're not bothering me, I'm perfectly happy to explain all about it :3

So the confusion about the number of Schlatt's canon deaths started, I believe, because Game Theory YouTuber Matpat miscounted them in his video about the Dream SMP.

According to the Dream SMP Wiki, cc!Wilbur, and general consensus of the fandom, Schlatt lost his canon lives when:

Technoblade accidentally killed him during the Red Festival, in the blast from the rockets that killed Tubbo.

Quackity deliberately shot him after their argument about the White House being demolished.

He suffered a heart attack in the Camarvan, likely brought on by the alcohol abuse that has been a problem for him throughout the whole story.

In his video Matpat counted his first death at the Red Festival and his third death by heart attack as canon, but did not count his death at the hands of Quackity for some unknown reason. Matpat claimed Schlatt still had a canon life left.

Wilbur reacted on stream to the Game Theory video, and he was momentarily confused by this part. He confirmed that the Red Festival death and heart attack were canon, but went back through the script and realized that, coincidentally, he'd neglected to actually write down in the script that the death took one of Schlatt's canon lives. He questioned whether or not Schlatt could theoretically come back.

But the script is flexible and not the end-all-be-all of canon. If we want to argue that any death that is not explicitly planned or declared canon in writing doesn't count, that's simply not true. There are canon deaths in the story that happen off-script too, the most notable being the lives lost in The Final Conrol Room. Eret's betrayal wasn't in the script, it was a complete surprise to almost everyone. Even Wilbur was unaware that Eret had switched sides. So canon is mostly dictated by what has happened, not what should happen.

And current events support this idea. Schlatt's status as dead was made clearer in subsequent livestreams. He has since re-appeared as a ghost, and he's implied to be present in the afterlife with c!Wilbur. He's definitely dead. At least, for now.

As for cc!Schlatt coming back to the server, he seems like he's willing to do it. c!Schlatt has come back a few times as Glatt to hang out with the other people on a questionably canon level. But there has yet to be an official announcement that he's coming back as a regular member, which is why people are doing the if/when thing.

I think cc!Schlatt will have more fun this time if he chooses to come back, because The Egg seems to be the main antagonist this season. As the main bad guy, c!Schlatt was somewhat limited in what he was capable of doing narratively. He didn't have many opportunities to do goofy fun things like the protagonists and other members of the server, he was there to be evil and scary. Harder to maintain that image by building cuck shacks and laughing with friends. If he comes back as a minor antagonist or character with more freedom from the script, he'll be able to goof off more. So I hope he comes back! I look forward to seeing what kind of chaos he brings to the story :)

Yes, of course I’ll let you know!!! Sorry, here comes a long reply! :D

(I am really picky and very diligent when it comes to deciding on buying something online, therefore I did my homework and checked for the right place and person to buy from). I found a girl from Singapore on this site https://carousell.com/sabrinac124/. Her name is Sabrina and she was very kind, answers right away, I really recommend her as a good seller. She has A LOT of dolls to offer, check it out, you’ll want to buy all of them lol.

Things you need to know before you buy are:

1. The dolls are kind of pricey. I bought two -

2. You have to be ready to wait. Since the dolls have to be done first, especially if it’s a pre-order, as was my Dyoang doll, you’ll have to wait for about 2-3 months for the dolls to be done before she can send them to you. The moment both dolls were ready she sent them right away.

3. Waiting time is looong. I ordered them on 11/11/2016. She sent them on the 25th of March, they were off to my country on the 27th of March and guess what…They arrived on the 4th of May. Around a month and a half I had to wait for them, I tracked it online and it always said only that it has been send to my country. She sent them by air, usually it wouldn’t take so long but it all depends on how the post works at your country(or doesn’t in my case lol) and if there are no holidays. Anyway, for this whole month and sth I was quite stressed and worried they got lost on the way…It happened once before with things I bought from Aliexpress, so it’s up to you if you take the risk. The dolls arrived in perfect condition, the package was absolutely okay too. All in all I waited for about 6 months to get the dolls.

Pros are: Obviously, the dolls are in great condition, just as in the photos she posted. They are super adorable, the material is very nice too. I got little stickers as a gift also. I think it’s absolutely worth it. I wanted to get them for New Years as a present lol Got them for my birthday. But it’s absolutely worth the wait, I was over the moon when I unpacked them.

Actually, I have another Kyungsoo doll I’m still waiting to receive if you’re interested.

It’s still in the process of making, I pre-ordered it and the dolls were made as a project for Kyongsoo’s birthday. I ordered it on December 27th, 5 months ago. I ordered a C set - so I’ll get the little plushie, which as you can see is already made; the big one, the bookmark and some gifts that come with it because I pre-ordered it. Here it is:

It is super duper adorable!

The price was 28$ for the C set + 20$ delivery. All in all 48$. Compared to the ones from Singapore, it’s much cheaper. But then again - the Dyoang and The Wolf DO I couldn’t find anywhere else(except for one Indonesian fansite - https://www.instagram.com/chocomilk94shop/, who told me to pay a crazy sum for the doll and the delivery…Maybe it wouldn’t be so expensive if you live close by, so check them out! It could be cheaper for you ;) and I REALLY WANTED TO HAVE THEM.

As for the Nini Bear: mine’s not the real deal, it was a gift from my friend for New Years and I would say it still looks really cute, but not as amazing as the original doll. My bias is Kyungsoo, so I just had to buy at least three of his cutie dolls…Therefore I couldn’t afford a Nini Bear, even though I think it’s one of the cutest EXO dolls to be made.
