there's nothing I love more about lcf than the fact that almost all of the main characters are survivors and how it seriously engraves into you, again and again, the importance of being alive FIRST. It's so refreshing to see an mc who prioritizes safety more than anything else, who won't push past the limits.. like serious limits of everyone just for the sake of winning(now if cale can also do this and walk his talk, it would be perfect.. but that wouldn't make him the cale that we all know and love). it provides you with this mentality that retreating doesn't mean immediate failure, and that there will always be another chance to try again. that one closed door doesn't imply a dead end but a chance to open an alternative path. it's such a simple message and yet we humans tend to forget it when we're facing adversities, a lot of times we're convinced we're forced to make self-destructive decisions... cale would prob have plans A to Z but there would never be a single one among them that has the possibility of him losing anyone even himself. so yes!! being alive is the best!!

I like to draw Cale as a fox. In this time I wanted to show his interaction with Raon. This kid deserves the sun and butterflies!

Alberu, with a bright smile: I don't hold grudges
Also Alberu to Cale: See that green haired guy with blue eyes drinking wine to the end of the table? When I was ten, that bastard said to me that I shouldn't dream for things that aren't supposed to be mine. Now I'm the king and he's crying over his lost business. I ruined it by the way

Cale is the Saint of Death, and has been the entire time AU.
Growing up, Rok Soo's life was shit.
In his dreams, which he only barely recalled, there was always a warm place waiting for him. A parental figure that would ask him how his day went, give him advice, and try to ease the wound that just living life gave him routinely.
"You need to eat more! You're far too skinny for a growing child!"
"Shopkeepers are more likely to forgive you if you cry. It makes them uncomfortable."
"The next time he starts to drink, hide, okay? I'll deal with him when he comes to me, but I can't right now. So just hide."
Rok Soo could never remember what the man looked like.
But he did know that if he was ever put in charge of kids, that would be who he would try to base his behavior off of.
Practical, caring, and there.
What he wouldn't figure out until far later was that in his dreams, he was being parented by the God of Death.
By the time he transmigrated, his soul was saturated with Divine Power.
When he opened his eyes for the first time as Cale Henituse, he was also waking up to a world where he had the powers of a Saint.
Cage wakes up the same day, irritated from the start, because during her own dreams the God of Death would not shut the fuck up about how his son was finally going to be able to meet her.

Remember when Cale told Alver that the White Star gave him cookies and that they even tasted better than Alver's cookies? And then for some 'odd reason', Alver felt upset? And he also felt as though he had lost to White Star?
Because I think about it everyday. The whole Naru Von Ejellan arc was insane in so many ways and this is just one small part of it.

I wanna pinch his cheeks <3
Based on that one sweater design I've seen floating on Tumblr ages ago. Immediately made me think of him, this is so Cale coded
Give my boy all the money, he deserves that sweet slacker life although we all know he'll never get it

Imagine a story where Cale died to WS but he's stuck in a time loop.
Every time he dies, he comes back to the day before Choi Han comes to the territory. Unlike Rok Soo, Cale doesn't have a book that has all the details and clues he needs to accomplish his goal. He went through trial and error to find information and gather the right allies.
For years and years and years, until Cale feels like he's losing his mind
When he manages to kill WS in one regression, he thought it was over. But he woke up and he's back in the beginning.
He doesn't understand WHY.
Wasn't his whole reason for coming back is to kill WS?
Turns out 2 things are at play.
1) He didn't "kill" WS. He only caused WS to reincarnate into another body. So he didn't fulfil his purpose.
2) His soul isn't at rest. In his path of vengeance, he lost sight of who he is. He loves his family, but in his regressions, he never truly bonded with them. He is forgetting his love for them as each regression passes, slowly pushing them away until they're more like strangers instead of family.
Maybe, when Cale was first killed by WS, he invoked some deep rooted power of the Thames. You know, the power of time.
Maybe that's his AP. The power to go back in time until he fulfilled a "goal"

You guys ever think about how funny it is that the whole reason why Cale did not have try at all to impersonate the original Cale, was because no one actually knew anything about him, despite the fact that everybody knew about him? On an international scale, even??
Cale: (doing an absolutely terrible job at being trash) Everybody else: That doesn't sound right, but I don't know enough about Cale Henituse to dispute it

if there's one thing i have felt for lcf that nothing can ever beat, it's the novel's love for familial bond. it's how everyone have lost so much and still somehow found each other. it's how they all relearned how to truly belong. it's how they are family by bond and by choice. it's how they would never trade the family they have been blessed with for anything, for anyone, not even for the gods.
oh how they would actually stand before and stare down the universe itself if it means protecting their family..

Kim Rok Soo didn't transmigrate, he died in the attack where he was meant to and reincarnated as one of the orphans in Toltz territory.
With his sticky fingers and predilection for sticking his nose in everyone's business, he actually found out when Venion had a dragon egg, of all things, being wheeled through the territory.
And, naturally, he realized exactly what was meant to happen to that dragon.
So he concocted an elaborate plan and tried to steal the egg, only for it to hatch at the worst possible time and for both of them to get caught.
Kim Rok Soo and the little dragon are chained up and tortured, instead of just the little dragon.
Rok Soo antagonizes Venion to take the heat off of the dragon, and the dragon in turn does the same when it's been too much for Rok Soo.
Then, three years after his capture, the entrance caves in as Choi Jung Soo and Lee Soo Hyuk stand in the rubble, wild eyed and pissed.
They'd been transmigrated, and had only been in the world for seven months.
They'd bullied the God of Death into telling them where Rok Soo was.
Soo Hyuk had straight up punched the God of Death in the face the second the phrase "dungeon" left the god's mouth.
They'd been searching for him the entire time, bullied a counts son for political information, bullied Choi Han into being their interpreter, punched their way through so many guards that if it hadn't been for the count's son's money they definitely would have been on wanted posters, and they'd just found him chained and beaten.
Rok Soo thinks it's fantastic; he gets reunited and also gets to leave.
Soo Hyuk and Jung Soo think...well. Not a lot, really. They saw a tiny Rok Soo beaten to hell and their minds kind of went blank.
By the time they come back to themselves Venion is in pieces. Literally.
