I'm back with more OCs! This time from another story of mine (and boy, are there many of those lol)

Meet my boys Leslie (left) and Lloyd (right)! Leslie was once an infamous, cutthroat lawyer who has since then fallen from grace while Lloyd is a straight-A law student (and former mobster) who begged applied for an internship at Leslie's rundown office because he's a huge fan. Lots of shenanigans ensues, the two of them hit it off and they eventually open a firm together as associate partners.

They're also completely bonkers and have a very special place in my heart <3 Hope you enjoyed!

What does Shaozhen even look like?

Hello! Thank you so much for the ask :D I definitely plan on posting a sketch of him in the near future and there are still a few things that I must decide on about his final design but I'll try to answer your question as accurately as possible!

Appearance-wise, he's very much a fusion between my own version of Sanzang and Wukong (that you can see in said previous post I made): he's closer to Sanzang in size (1m70 as opposed to Wukong's 1m60) and looks more human-like than Wukong. Basically, where Wukong looks very much like a humanoid monkey demon, Shaozhen looks more like a human with monkey-like features (like his nose/mouth area and ears are more monkey-like, and he also has fangs and claws), he has white/blond/light-colored fur covering most of his body (not as much as Wukong's though) but he's missing a tail. He has similar eyes to Wukong's but gentler and his sclera is lighter with blue (?) irises (still haven't decided yet). Overall, despite his demonic heritage, he kinda has an angelic/saintly air about him, "pure" for a lack of better word. Since I picture both Sanzang and Wukong as being rather beautiful (though in their own, different ways), I also imagine Shaozhen to be the same but I will need to draw them side by side to really differenciate the different ways I imagine them to look, which is similar enough to notice their relation to each other but also different enough that they all look unique and like their own person, which is difficult to put in writing alone.

(Although, bear in mind that in my story, he's only known as Sanzang's child at first, which is already taboo enough on its own given Sanzang's status as a monk, and not Wukong's, which is why Shaozhen usually hide his appearance. He's already being ostracised and shamed for being the son of a monk, especially one as famous as Sanzang, and since he and his group are often relying on people's charity during their travels, he cannot afford to let people know about his true nature as it would both further compromise Sanzang's reputation as well as his group's ability to find shelter and whatnot, given that they're all demons and Shaozhen is considered the only "normal" one in their group.)

His clothes are honestly the coolest part of his design in my opinion: he wears long, all-white robes that covers the entirety of his body and a large straw hat with a long, half-opaque white veil that mostly hides his face from view. He also wears several pieces of golden jewelry that are actually power limiters, kinda like Wukong's circlet. He's known to never reveal his face under any circumstances, which he likes to claim is because of "spiritual reasons/modesty", which causes a lot of people to gossip about him but he honestly couldn't care less. Underneath his robes, he wears a black, sleeveless turtleneck shirt and combat pants for when he needs to fight. Basically, he looks very regal, elegant and refined as per his monk status but when he's angry or fighting, all this refinement goes of of the window. He's also way more laidback when in the company of his friends alone, it's just that he has to pretend a lot and be composed most of the time, lest people find out his secrets. Shaozhen is also never seen without his fan and antique cigarette-holder because he's classy like that.

I've mentioned in a previous post that I made a whole ass AU about JTTW and created several OCs to go with it, so meet my badass gremlin girl <33

I haven't decided on a proper name for her yet so I've been calling her Māo for the time being.

She's a yāoguài, so a demon much like Wukong and co. She's a young jade tiger girl with a penchant for pulling pranks on unsuspecting people, eating loads of food and anything that shines. She LOVES to fight and go on adventures with her tight-knit group of friends. Māo is definitely hot-headed and fiesty, with a bit of a rebellious streak, but she can also be very warm, friendly and loving to those she favors, as well as fiercely loyal. She's also very curious and mischievious by nature, much like a cat. But don't let her cute appearance fool you, she's way stronger than she looks: she is a tiger afer all.

Māo is part of Shaozhen's gang (who is the secret, forbidden lovechild of Sanzang and Wukong), along with Nezha, Bing, Zombie Dude and Fox Guy.

I love her so much, she's my baby <33 I can't wait to write more about their story, who everyone is and how they all met each other because they're all crazy lol

Hii, thanks for my very first ask!!

I have seen JJTW: The Demons Strike Back because I kept seeing pictures of transformed Wukong (whose design looked sick as hell) and I had a great time with it :D ! it was fun to watch, if a lot goofier than I had anticipated given the screenshots I saw (but then I should have probably expected it since I know the novel has some pretty wtf moments lol)

I have yet to see Conquering the Demons because my dumb ass didn't know it was a prequel ToT I thought it was a completely different movie and didn't think to check so I guess I kinda spoiled myself in a way?? It's definitely on my watch list though! I wonder how the two compare to each other and which one I'll prefer (I know Wukong's design isn't the same in the first one because it's a bit older I believe??)

Literally watched two movies and fell in love with that monkey... No, seriously, I have planned a whole ass story with different arcs, OCs and everything, that's how deeply invested I am into this guys

So here's my redesign of Sun Wukong, nothing too crazy about it but I wanted him to be both manly and crazy pretty, like, mythical kind of beautiful. I still need to tweak his design here and there and draw a proper character sheet for him but hopefully the art on the right kinda conveys what I was going for (??)

I was definitely inspired by Monkey King: Hero is Back's Sun Wukong because that monkey has my whole heart okay?

I haven't read Journey to the West yet but I definitely plan to in the near future, it's on my list!

Back with a character redesign this time woooo

I've always been a huge fan of the show Mentalist and I especially love the Red John plotline you know, the entire premise of the show, the red herring tying the whole story together and ended up thoroughly disappointed by how the whole thing went down... The reveal of Red John's identity was so underwhelming to me even more so when I learned that it was basically a last minute decision, explaining why the whole thing was such a cluttered mess that I decided to make my own version of RJ.

I'm pretty satisfied with how he came out in the right picture although I still think I accidentally made him too handsome but it's a pretty self-indulgent redesign anyway. I completely changed his backstory from the series and went a more traditional supervillain route (while keeping a more reasonable and modest background), staying closer to the character's original inspirations (given that he was supposed to be the Moriarty to Jane's Sherlock) and trying my best to keep his personality and goals somewhat consistent and not as disjointed as it was in the series.

I could go on and on about my petpeeves and nitpicks about the treatment his character received in the show but I'll stop here for now lol I'll try compiling a proper essay about it one of these days, I do so love my character studies <3 I'll post more about him eventually so stay tuned for that if you're interested in hearing more about it!

TL;DR: I'm still salty about the resolution of his character arc so I made my own self-indulgent version to help me cope with it <3
