Woke up this morning thinking about Macau and Chay and their reluctant proximity in the Main House after canon happens. No one knows why Chay’s dropped out of school but Macau finds out. He finds out and he feels just a bit jealous because everyone around him has someone, and he feels just a bit sad because Chay did have someone and now Kim’s gone.
He does his best to help Chay move on. They develop hobbies together. Movies. Gaming. Chay even starts writing music again. He admits to Macau that he used to write little notes on cute stationary paper for Kim and now doesn’t know what to do with the other 100 sheets. So Macau teaches him how to fold the notes into little shapes so he can write and put them away, like Pete taught him. (Something something, Pete is a father and brother and mentor figure, Pete is just perfect)
Somewhere along the line, Macau sees how Kim is pining just as badly for Chay. He convinces Chay to hear Kim out. It’s not easy for anyone; Chay is confused, Kim is broken, and Macau is watching his friend leave him behind. But Macau, who’s always been a smidge selfish, finds himself okay with that. It’s okay to be left behind because Chay and Kim can be happy. He just hopes it’ll be him one day.
He and Chay spend another day folding notes. Chay folds a really simple flower and says he’s going to be honest today, with everyone: Kim, Porsche, etc. Macau watches him write I love you into another purple note before folding it into another flower. He should feel sad. He’s not.
Days later, Macau is only beginning to make his peace with Chay going back to Kim. But it’s okay because Chay still hangs out with him. Kim does too. It’s like they’re inseparable, and Macau feels safe. He wonders if Kim’s just putting up with him but Kim has a way of making Macau feel like he’s not alone, not the forgotten son of this family. He and Kim go out for smoothies and judge the Thai Top 10 weekly singles. Kim picks him up from school and even pays a visit to Vegas when Macau wants to switch faculties. Whatever their new bond is, Macau is grateful because he doesn’t quite know what love is, but this is very close to that. At least he has his friend and his family.
Macau thinks he’s fine until Chay shows up at his dorm room, the folded purple flower from weeks ago, in his hand, telling him that he needs to be honest with Macau too. Macau breaks down, sobbing. It isn’t right, it’s not supposed to be him. And he’s so scared. He’s so scared that Kim’s gonna be mad. That if Chay stays a minute longer, he’s going to lose his best friend and his cousin all at once. He cries so hard that he wants to throw up, but it’s Chay soothing him. It’s Chay, and then it’s Kim, and it’s them, and Macau doesn’t know how it’s supposed to be but for the first time in his life, he knows it’ll work out just fine.
EDIT: This is officially a fic now!

I'm way too lazy to copy that Marvel What If font rn but...what if
What if Korn took Nampheung, not out of obsession or some freaky desire to attic wife her, but to please his father? I think it’s pretty much a given that his recitation of the shooting events is a lie and that Gun’s is closer to the truth.
In both versions, though, they are there trying to persuade Nampheung to come home again because their dad is insisting. I’m guessing that since Nampheung has yet another son, their father is ready for her to come back into the fold, bringing her kids with her. Korn kills her husband, obviously to get him out of the way. But I think that he didn’t want even more competition against his own sons for a place in the family. Vegas and Macau were enough. So he brings her and leaves Porsche and Chay behind.
And then he tells his father the same story he told Gun, but in reverse. Gun freaked out. Gun killed Ted. Gun killed Porsche and Chay because he’s obsessed with Nampheung. Gun tried to rape her. Keep her locked away and safe from Gun. It’s enough to make Gun completely lose favor with his father. Nampheung either tries to kill herself because she thinks her sons are dead as well, or Korn just keeps her drugged up. Now he’s eliminated both rivals for the head of the family in one fell swoop. After his father dies, he keeps her because why not? She’s completely under his control and someday he might need her as a weapon/hostage (turns out he does).
What if Porsche is actually Gun’s son? Gun doesn’t know it, Nampheung didn’t tell him — I’m thinking one night of passion and her realizing that is she was with him, she’d never escape the Mafia life, or they knew their dad would never allow it. So she just ran off with Pat, who married her to protect her and the baby (maybe he was already in love with her, maybe they fell in love later.) But Korn knows it or at least he’s pretty sure of it. It would explain his interest in Porsche but not Chay, who would presumably be more malleable for Korn’s needs. (I know people have explored this possibility in way more depth than I can).
Yes, I know that would make Porsche and Kinn actual cousins, but look, I’m watching a show where a severed head in a box is considered a gift, and a torture raincoat standard equipment. Every romantic relationship on this show is ignoring the guy on the ship waving blood-red semaphore flags in frantic “danger, Will Robinson” messages. I promise you, my line is not a consensual romantic relationship between two blood-related adults who didn’t even grow up together.
TBH, I’m just throwing this out here because I want Porsche and Vegas and Macau and Chay to have to navigate an enemies-to-brothers relationship. Porsche and Vegas, two men conditioned to love and protect their brothers, having to deal with their super awkward relationship. Chay and Macau, both used to being the adored baby brother, unable to stifle their resentment and confusion. Heck, they’re still babies, so send them off to camp together so we can have a Parent Trap type bonding situation. Y’all I just want one of those cheesy 80s, defensive “that’s my brother!” moments.
What if Porsche becoming Tankhun’s bodyguard was meant to be a test by both Khun and Korn as well as taking Porsche off of the hot seat for a minute? Korn brings Porsche in, is delighted by his moxie, puts him on the board as an actual player, and then he’s just a disaster who almost gets himself killed by the Minor Family. So, letting him be Tankhun’s bodyguard got him out of the spotlight for a minute, long enough for the Minor family to move on to other grudges. And it was a test to see if he had any ambition, any edge at all. That’s why Korn does not want him to guard anybody else when Porsche suggests it. He passed the test and needs to stay in play.
Khun sees Kinn’s interest in Porsche. After all, Kinn comes personally to rescue Porsche from his fish-killing punishment. Switching Pete and Porsche protects him from Minor family retaliation(because come on, do we really think that Vegas was gonna let that go? If he hadn’t wanted to use Porsche, he would absolutely have gotten revenge.) It also gives Khun a chance to study Porsche and see if he’s worthy of Kinn’s attention. When he decides he is, he nudges him back toward Kinn ...mentioning the meeting, telling him that Kinn said he was useless and would get killed, eventually “giving” him back to Kinn with the flimsiest excuse.
@iamcon-fu-sion mentions some of these ideas about the bodyguard situation in their KP rewatch and I was so happy to see that because I constantly think I’m over analysing everything about this show(I mean I’m not gonna stop though).
What if Ken wasn’t the original mole? What if it was a lower-level bodyguard, and he didn’t betray the main family until Porsche came onto the scene? Maybe he’d already turned down the offer before. Then Big gets hurt and Porsche comes along out of nowhere. By rights, Ken should have moved into Big’s spot, but Porsche stops that, humiliating them in the process. Porsche continually fucks up and yet still fails upward. Sure, they made fun of him being Tankhun’s bodyguard, but realistically, Tankhun has the best bodyguards they have other than Big and Ken.
Arm and Pete are constantly pulled into other missions because they’re so valuable and talented. Maybe no one wants the job, but it’s still one of the most high-ranking. Then, when Ken does get the head bodyguard job, it’s yanked back out from under him. He has no idea that Porsche is getting all kinds of nepo baby/sugar baby privileges, but whatever is going on is enough to leave him bitter, angry, and betrayed enough to go over to the minor family.
editing this because where did I get Ted for the Kittisawasd dad? I ...have no idea.

Atticwife Pete
For @sweatyflytrap and @adanima who encouraged me to finally finish this plot bunny
Pete is high off the adrenaline of being free and knocking out Vegas. It really only takes him as far as the grave they dug for Khun Spikes. He gives up and sits with everything I love leaves me running through his head. But Vegas doesn’t love him. That’s the crux of the matter. Still, he thinks of Vegas pleading for him to stay as he took off the cuffs and he stays. He stays next to the grave and eventually becomes aware of Nop (which seems to be the accepted name for Vegas’ bodyguard though I don’t know where it came from) right next to him when Nop pokes him.
Nop: so, what’s the plan?
Pete: ???
Nop: Khun Vegas says I’m supposed to let you go if you want and make sure you make it there safely but you’re not leaving and he says you’re a person not a pet and won’t come get you.
Pete: *sniffles and sobs in the ensuing awkward silence*
Nop: he was making curry in case you come back?
This is a winning argument. Pete gets up and pads over to peer through the patio door. And there’s Vegas dishing food out onto plates. They make eye contact and Vegas takes a step forward. Pete takes one back. And Vegas just stops. Pete can’t hear anything through the glass door but Vegas’ face is desperate and pleading. Pete’s tired and hungry and his heart hurts. Cautiously, one eye on Vegas, he steps closer and closer and eventually opens the door. He pauses on the threshold.
Pete: are you going to tie me back up?
He’s not entirely sure he cares if the answer is yes. Vegas has fundamentally changed him. He’s not sure how to go on living without him. Still, he’ll feel infinitely better if Vegas wouldn’t chain him back up. (Just because he doesn’t particularly like going out, doesn’t mean he doesn’t appreciate the option)
But Vegas shakes his head frantically. He won’t chain him up or lock him up or anything as long as Pete stays, he promises. And so Pete comes within feeding distance. They eat. And after it’s over, Pete sags onto his chair. Vegas eyes him cautiously. “Pete” he looks up. “Please, don’t leave me.” And Pete doesn’t really have a plan to leave. He already tried and failed. Still, maybe if Vegas hurts him again, he can convince his brain that this is an option. “Why?” “Because I love you.” And Pete doesn’t believe him is the thing. Because Pete’s seen the people Vegas has left behind in his wake, desperate and broken, while Vegas just moved on to the next target. Still, Vegas begs and pleads and Pete is tired. He doesn’t believe him but Vegas swears he’ll prove it to him. So he lets Vegas lead him upstairs and they sleep, Vegas wrapped around him.
Or rather, Pete sleeps. Vegas is too afraid he’ll wake up and Pete will be gone to do anything but cling to him all night and think about how to keep him.
In the morning, they lay in bed looking at each other. “You know we can’t be together as long as your dads around right?” And Vegas does know. He’s spent most of the night listing all the reasons he should get rid of his dad. He’s mostly convinced himself and come up with a plan to deal with it to boot. Still, everything depends on Pete choosing to stay. And so, he begs and pleads until Pete acquiesces. They spend the day together, clingy and unsure but desperately in love with each other. Vegas doesn’t say it because Pete doesn’t believe him. Pete doesn’t say it because he doesn’t trust him and doesn’t want to give him that power.
In the morning, Vegas begs a kiss off Pete and leaves. And Pete curls up in their bed, huddling under blankets, ears pricked for a sign of his return. When he hears a car, he throws off the blankets and rushes downstairs only to find Nop. And Macau. Who is utterly befuddled.
Macau has no idea what’s going on. He woke up this morning, met his brother who was an utter mess and who asked him to be nice to the person he loved, and he was bundled into a car and sent away. And now he’s staring at the bodyguard who was stalking Vegas but then disappeared. He’s in rough shape and it’s pretty obvious what happened. Still, he’s never seen Vegas like that before. If his brother is in love with some bodyguard and wants him to be nice to him, he can try his best. At least this new guy can’t be as annoying as Tawan.
Nop explains that Vegas is planning to take out his dad and wanted Pete to keep himself and Macau safe and out of the way while he does it. And Pete believes him now. Because Vegas loved his brother. And he would never compromise Macau’s safety for a game. And so they stay at the safehouse. Pete lifelessly, not sure what he’s supposed to be doing other than waiting for Vegas and taking care of Macau. Macau is worried for his brother but also because Pete seems like a zombie. As more days pass without Vegas, Pete gets more worried. And starts making plans. If all else fails, he could probably hide Macau out with his grandma. No one would think to look for him there. Especially if Pete returns to the Main House after, claiming to have escaped Vegas. He wouldn’t be able to keep him in the lifestyle he’s undoubtedly used to but he would be safe. In a distant corner of his mind, he’s mentally howling, waiting for Vegas to come back. You tore open my heart, he wants to say, please don’t leave me to bleed.
Macau is not too worried honestly. The majority of the Minor Family is loyal to Vegas rather than his dad. Other than his dad’s personal guards, everyone prefers Vegas. Probably, he’s just working out the logistics of the coup and making sure everything’s settled before bringing them back.
Meanwhile in Bangkok, Vegas has managed to manipulate the evidence to condemn his dad rather than himself. He’s also managed to get the kitchen staff to poison his dad’s alcohol so that it looks like he realized the game was up and committed suicide rather than face the consequences. Kinn doesn’t believe it at all but there’s no proof and Korn insists that he let it go. For his part, without the attack, Korn can’t justify not letting Vegas inherit without endangering his benevolent family man image. So Vegas becomes head of the Minor Family. Tankhun is furious because he’s convinced Pete is dead and by this point, so is everyone else. Still, Pete was sent to spy and everyone knows what happens to spies. In the end, the only person who can be blamed is the one who sent him says Korn and absolves Vegas of guilt. Of course, Pete’s friends still blame Vegas but there’s nothing to be done.
Vegas, meanwhile, renovates his house. He pays an absurd amount of compensation if the builders can get the changes he wants done within a week. For triple the fee to the company and triple the pay for the individual workers, they’re motivated and they finish on time. Meanwhile, Vegas has been securing his hold on the Minor Family and pulling out of all the things he thought were bad investments. Most of which conflict with the Main Family.
Porsche, still angry over Pete, but desperate to figure out Korn’s connection to his parents seeks out Vegas. Vegas turns him down. He has his own family to protect, he explains. He’s already on thin ice with the Main Family and he’s not risking his family for Porsche. Porsche, unhappy, understands. Still, Vegas recognizes the lady in the picture on his dad’s desk and lets Porsche poke around in there. This is how Porsche finds out about his mom’s connection to the Theerapanyakuls and his parents’ death at Korn’s hands. He has no idea how to handle this when he gets news of Korn’s death. He sticks around lost for a few hours as he tries to recover his hazy memories.
Meanwhile, Vegas has been told construction is complete. And Korn’s death makes it the perfect time to bring back Pete while maintaining the illusion that he’s dead. Except you know. Porsche is having a breakdown in his house. Ugh. So he finds Porsche and makes up some bs about love that convinces Porsche to go support Kinn. And he waits.
It takes no time at all really for some other family to attack the Main House. When he hears the news, he grabs a car and goes to the safehouse.
Because a change in leadership is the perfect time to try making a power grab. If Gun had been alive, he wouldn’t have been the only one to try it, just the first to put it into action.
Pete, meanwhile, throws himself at Vegas and sobs out I love yous because Vegas could’ve died without knowing. Macau makes himself scarce and Vegas is getting teary eyed too because Pete loves him and is promising to stay.
Eventually, they reunite, Macau and Pete at the countertop, watching Vegas cook. Pete and Vegas can’t keep their eyes off each other though Vegas is telling them what’s been happening while Macau asks questions and Pete watches silently.
It’s after they eat that Vegas lays out his plan. He’s going to take Pete back to the Minor House. He’ll send a guard back for Macau whenever the attack on the Main House is over and claim that his absence was because he was stowing him away at a safe house.
Pete is torn. Because an attack on the Main House? Pete is loyal. But Khun Noo has Arm and Pol and all the other bodyguards and will surely be alright. And Pete may have been a prized bodyguard but in the end he was just a bodyguard. A tool. One more body to live and die for the family. Pete has only ever lived for others and the only person who’s really loved him has been his grandma.
But Vegas is willing to let him contact his grandma. And the part of Pete that wants to be loved is willing to let Vegas keep him hidden away like some precious treasure. And so Vegas smuggles Pete back into the Minor House. He’s had his secret rooms remodeled for Pete. Now, there’s a room that’s Vegas’ room. And in that room, there’s a secret way to open a hidden door to Pete’s room. Pete’s room has a balcony with a staircase that leads down to a small garden that’s been walled off. The whole thing has been constructed so that people wouldn’t notice that something was off without extremely careful scrutiny. He sits with Pete and they choose furniture together. Pete’s never had this much choice before. Vegas encourages him to actually pick things.
They’ve already planned out how they’re going to decorate the room and have things set for delivery when they hear the attack has failed. Also that Korn is alive. Pete is very offended by Korn’s abusive father behavior. But not enough to go back. Kinn has heard by now that Vegas was the one to encourage Porsche to go back and is willing to come to a tentative truce with Vegas as long as he toes the line. He’s too busy dealing with Korn’s bullshit and it’s continued effects on his relationship anyway. Macau is summoned back and he’s a little weirded out that Pete has decided to live in a room in his brothers room but decides to stay out of what they do in their bedroom(s).
Pete becomes the most open secret in the Minor Family House. Because he rarely leaves his room and never leaves the house but all the staff knows Khun Vegas keeps his wife locked up in his room. None of them know about the inner room because they’re not allowed in either room so they think Pete just lives in Vegas’ outer room.
But also, this is the one secret no one really cares about. People know what Khun Vegas will do to them if they dare mention his wife outside. And also it’s not really information that anyone will pay for. Pete is not a vulnerability to be exploited because he never leaves the house. He doesn’t even leave his room most days. Not even if Vegas is out. If that’s the case, Macau takes food up for him. No one else is allowed in and people think they’ll be caught if they try to sneak into Vegas’ room for information because he has a live in wife.
People aren’t even sure what Pete knows. For all they know, it’s just another plaything who’s become obsessed with Khun Vegas, only this time Khun Vegas decided he might be useful and decided to keep him. Does he get told confidential information? Is it even a vulnerability or is it just Khun Vegas maintaining the illusion to keep him brainwashed? No one knows.
What they do know is that he’s to be treated as the de facto mistress of the house. Macau defers to him but also is known to play along to most of Vegas’ schemes so who knows. The revolving door to Vegas’ bedroom has become blocked off but that was always a bit of a security leak anyway. And maybe Khun Vegas is growing up and settling down.
And this is how Pete becomes Vegas’ attic wife who lives in a secret room in Vegas’ bedroom.

"Vegas doesn't want to leave the mafia because it's all he's ever known, and also because yayyy, murder!"
Yes, I'm sorry you're missing the point of his entire character arc, I guess?
Now bear with me. I agree that in canon, he probably doesn't want to leave this life, and for several reasons, the "it's all he's ever known" being one of them. He doesn't want to or try to leave despite the fact that he clearly hates some aspects of it - most importantly the constant battle with the main family, and also his father bossing him around and using him as his personal punching bag. His other reasons include:
a) the need to prove to his father that he is a worthy son
b) the wish to beat the main family as he's been taught to do his whole life
c) the need to protect his younger brother because let's face it, Vegas being an obedient son is likely the main reason why Gun doesn't extend his parenting methods to Macau, too
d) the mere fact that Vegas doesn't have a single reason outside of the mafia that would encourage him to get the fuck out of there
And then Pete turned his life and brain upside down and Vegas got hit by feelings - and, a little later, a few bullets.
By the end of canon, everything has changed for him. As he himself says, he has nothing left. His father is dead, the minor family is no more, all that's left of it is a vague concept that has already been served on a silver platter to Porsche. He barely survived being shot, and he has months of recovery before him, and it's unlikely that he'll ever be able to fully recover and gain his strength back. He will suffer the consequences of his injuries, and he won't be the same Vegas who was able to go on raids. He'll be tired. He'll be in pain. He'll have bad days when he'll barely be able to function. We don't like to hear it, but it's a FACT.
And on top of that, all his reasons for not leaving the mafia are... Gone. He doesn't have a father whose approval he would want to win. The minor family has been taken away from him. He doesn't need to protect Macau anymore, at least not from his father. And he has a reason to leave all the bullshit behind him - he has Pete, who told him, loud and clear, that he's not about to leave him. And he has his brother.
And what's more important, neither of them loves or needs him because he's Vegas the killer, Vegas from the minor family. They love him because he's VEGAS. They are their own little family now. And in the hospital scene, we can clearly see that Vegas is happy. Content. He doesn't mention going back to his mafia life, and Pete, judging by his clothes, so different from his bodyguard days, isn't about to do it either.
I mean... Why would Vegas go back to being a nobody, to being the main family's bloody hands, to being even less than he used to be, because he's not even the heir anymore?
(And on a related note - why would Pete want to go back to a place where he had to constantly wear an impenetrable mask when with Vegas, he's finally being seen?)
Do I think that no matter what, Vegas and Pete will get dragged, kicking and screaming, back to the mafia bullshit? Oh, yes. It doesn't matter whether it will be by emotional blackmail or some other strategic coercion methods (aka "you see, the main family technically paid for your recovery, so you owe us"), they will get dragged back, but they sure as hell won't like it.
Vegas learning that there's something more important than his mafia life and the violence it entails is the whole POINT of his character arc, for fuck's sake.
And to reduce him to "well he's mafia because he's always been mafia, and also because he loves murder, hahaha" is missing, well... basically the whole plot, really.
Sorry, not sorry.

Hospital Reflections
I wrote this for the KPTS Secret Santa for @suzteel who is a fantastic author and you should definitely check out.
Macau hadn’t needed to take care of anything in his entire life.
Vegas had always been there, looking after him, fixing things, and making sure his life was the best it could be while being trapped with their father.
But now, he had to be the grown-up. He had to take care of his big brother, and he had to take care of his big brother’s…Pete. He wasn’t sure what Pete was to his brother or what Vegas was to Pete. All he knew was that Pete had been the first one there with Vegas at the hospital, and he had hardly left since. Only when Macau could push him to get something to eat or find somewhere real to sleep.
Macau watched as Pete brushed strands of hair from Vegas’ face gently. Vegas stirred a little at the touch. The movement was a recent development that had been delighting them both. A good sign that he might come out of it without too much brain damage.
Macau turned his mind to the care Pete always seemed to take with his brother. It fascinated him, this relationship. Where and how had it started? Pete was cagey on the details, so it was likely that Vegas had done something awful to him. Macau hadn’t been there to see it, so likely it would’ve happened at the safehouse Vegas had been banished to. Which in Macau’s mind was a good thing. If Pete had already seen the worst Vegas had to offer, he wouldn’t be scared off and leave him later.
So, they were obviously something and that something was stirring up all sorts of feelings in Pete. Because Pete loved his brother, no one who didn’t love Vegas would take care of him like this, and Macau felt responsible for him.
There wasn’t a lot he could do the way things were. Macau wasn’t comfortable leaving Vegas for long periods yet, and without access to his resources, there wasn’t a lot. He couldn’t get him nice things or send him to expensive restaurants like he usually would with his friends. He could make sure that Pete was eating and sleeping. He could ensure the idiotic main family bodyguards that upset him so much stayed away. Little things, but Macau hoped that it was something because he really was trying. He hoped that he could step into Vegas’ shoes, if only temporarily.
Especially since Pete was doing such a good job taking care of Vegas in the meantime. He stayed on the doctors about Vegas’ treatment when Macau just couldn’t keep up with all of the complex words flying around. He ensured the nurses kept him clean and gave him the right amount of medication at the right time. He had been Vegas’ saving grace because Macau doubted he could handle it alone.
Now, all Vegas needed to do was wake up and see that his boyfriend was looking after him, and everything would be better.
Pete had had plenty of time to observe the youngest member of the Theerapanyakun family. What he had seen had surprised him. Khun and Kinn had always acted like he was nothing but a spoiled brat who thought he could get away with everything. Vegas had acted like he was the most perfect teenager ever to breathe.
What he got was something in between. Macau was a good kid, no doubt. He had stepped up to help care for Vegas and even seemed to be doing his best to take care of Pete. Which was beyond adorable because he didn’t have much authority, but he did know how to run people off. But he definitely wasn’t perfect. He had a mischievous streak and the same mean undercurrent that ran through Vegas.
Which, of course, meant that Pete was soft for him. He was so soft for this small, angry teenager trying to manage a world trying to take everything from him. The boy with little idea of how to survive in the mafia world he had grown up on the edges of.
Pete had to admit that he had started to think of Macau as his.
It wasn’t his fault! He had spent so much time cooped up with him in that cramped hospital room. He had seen firsthand what Vegas had been protecting Macau from, and he understood it completely. How was he not supposed to think of Macau as his little brother?
Especially when he was being adorable and running off the main family.
Pete hadn’t really thought he could just up and leave with no consequences, but he had hoped. Since then, his old friends and even Kinn had come by to attempt to talk him out of being with Vegas. After the third time, Pete was just tired of dealing with them. He had made his choice, and no one would talk him out of it.
Pete had been so invisible for so long that being focused on by a single person was enough to make him light up. It also kind of made him feel like he’d been set on fire, but you couldn’t have the attention without the heat. At least Pete would never be cold again.
But the main family was an entirely separate issue from his relationship with Vegas. He had played their perfect bodyguard. He had been Khun’s babysitter. For many years, he had been satisfied with being a piece of furniture. Then Vegas came along and changed everything. Now, he was ready for a different life. He was ready to be Vegas’ lover and Macau’s big brother, not just another disposable bodyguard who had just managed to last a long time.
And nothing they could say was going to change his decision.
There was also the anger toward the main family for everything they had done and didn’t do. A lot of anger, and Pete didn’t know that even if he did go back, he could get rid of it.
Macau was growing to like Pete despite himself. He had been determined to approach the matter with the logic of responsibility. He was just a new part of their family, and Macau would take care of him. But as they spent time together, Macau started to enjoy Pete’s company.
He was smart and cool. He knew martial arts and how to shoot properly. Macau started thinking of Pete as P’Pete in the privacy of his own head. Not that he would say it aloud. He wasn’t at that point yet. But as Pete started looking after him and Vegas, he had really started to feel a connection. It was nice.
However, all of that was temporarily relegated to unimportant. The doctors were hopeful that Vegas would wake up in the next few days. It didn’t matter what Pete felt for Vegas if Vegas didn’t return the feelings.
Macau hoped that whatever transpired between them was real on both sides. That this wasn’t another case of Vegas seducing his way through Thailand to get what he wanted.
Currently, Macau was closing his eyes, just wanting to relax a little. He heard Pete open the curtains and then another sound. His brother’s soft, raspy voice calling out for Pete.
It took all his self-control not to leap to his feet and throw his arms around Vegas. There was something more important to do now. Macau shamelessly eavesdropped on the conversation. The urge to jump up and down returned when he heard Pete proclaim his love. And real love, too, not whatever insanity was going on with Tawan.
“You’re not my pet anymore.”
What the fuck? Macau shuddered a little when he realized they were talking about whatever kinky shit they had going on in the bedroom. He didn’t want to know that! But, maybe it served him right for eavesdropping on their moment. Still, what else was he supposed to do? He needed to know that his protection of Pete hadn’t gone to waste.
“I’m following my heart. I don’t want to go back to the main family. You’re everything to me. Do you think I’d watch anybody sleep for a week and a half? You think I’d look after just anybody’s little brother?”
Hey, that was him! He was Vegas’ little brother.
“Macau is a joy,” Vegas’ voice was soft.
“Yeah, sure, when he’s on your side. But this wasn’t out of some misplaced sense of right and wrong. I didn’t look after him because it was the right thing to do. I looked after him because he’s your little brother. Because he loves you as much as I do. And a little because he was willing to run off the major family, but that’s beside the point. I looked after him because I love you. I am with you for as long as you’ll have me.”
Macau’s heart swelled, and he couldn’t help the sly grin he sent them from his position.
“Then you’ll be with me until I stop breathing because I will never send you away.”
Pete smiled and ducked his head when he realized that there were tears in his eyes. He believed that Vegas loved him. But there was always the worry in the back of his mind that maybe he was just another of the marks that Vegas liked to work his magic on. That he was another Tawan or Ken. A tool to use and discard. Hearing confirmation that he wasn’t was all he needed.
Pete pressed forward for a kiss that Vegas took part in.
“You are my everything now. So, you need to get better quickly and start feeding me again.”
Vegas smiled, and Pete’s heart sped up. He couldn’t believe he had tried to leave this behind. He couldn’t believe he had almost had to bury Vegas.
“What’s this about the main family?”
Pete’s smile dropped. How was he supposed to tell Vegas that after losing his father and almost losing his life, he had also lost his birthright? On top of that, they had tried to take away Pete, too.
“It’s nothing. I’ll tell you when you’re better.”
Vegas frowned at the poor deflection. “Well, we’ll talk about it later then, I guess. Macau, come here, please.”
Pete startled and glanced at where Macau should’ve been napping. Instead, he was smirking at them and looking like the cat who got the cream. Macau jumped up and joined them, sitting on the edge of the bed with Pete.
“Hia,” Macau said softly.
“You shouldn’t eavesdrop on us, Macau,” Vegas scolded him. But there was no heat behind his words. No real rebuke. Just a gentle reminder. God, Pete loved this man.
“I didn’t want to interrupt your moment by leaving, and I didn’t want you to stop talking until after you’d said what you’re supposed to.”
Vegas looked at his little brother, and Pete felt like his heart was going to beat out of his chest.
“Come here, kiddo.” Vegas reached out, and Macau went readily. Pete got a flash, and suddenly, he understood exactly what Vegas had meant when he said that Macau was the most perfect teenager in existence. He hugged Vegas carefully, burying his face in Vegas’ shoulder and curling around him. They stayed that way for a moment and then broke apart.
Macau slid off the bed and grinned at them.
“I’m going to go find someplace that makes a decent cup of tea and leave you two alone.” He waggled his eyebrows, and Pete found himself amending his original thought. The kid was a menace. Pete wasn’t sure if he was ready to be left alone, especially since he still needed to tell Vegas about what Korn had done with the leadership of the Minor Family.
Macau stepped out of the room, and they were alone. Vegas smiled at him, and Pete found himself choked up and blinded by it. He had wanted to wait, but how could he?
Pete sighed softly. “There’s something I have to tell you.”
“Korn made Porsche head of the minor family.” Pete looked physically pained to have to say those words.
Vegas felt a slight pang of his heart, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as he would’ve thought. He had spent his life fighting for that, and now it just felt like it didn’t compare to having Pete. “It doesn’t matter.”
Pete looked shocked. “What? That’s everything you’ve spent your life doing. You should be angry. I’m angry on your behalf!” Vegas had to hold in a smile. Of course, it mattered so much to Pete. Of course, he was so utterly perfect as to be annoyed on Vegas’ behalf.
“As long as I have you and Macau, it doesn’t matter. That’s all, nothing compared to the two of you. You’re everything.” Vegas wasn’t even lying. This wasn’t a seductive line. He truly meant it. He would give up everything from his old life, every silk shirt, club night, car, and everything else to keep them safe.
“It’s the principal! That’s your birthright!” Pete looked so annoyed and adorable. Vegas just wanted to squish his cheeks and nuzzle him.
“Pete, come here.” Vegas reached out a hand and took Pete’s. “It really doesn’t matter. Do I wish I could step into what I’ve trained for? Yes. But I worry about what I’d have to give up to do that. I don’t want to risk losing you, Macau, because I wanted to hold onto the business. I won’t let anything take you from me, and if I have to give up everything I’ve known, I will. I will do it happily if it means spending my life with you.”
Vegas watched Pete’s face for any signs he’d be upset.
“Do you really mean that?”
“Of course, I do.”
Vegas was alarmed to see Pete’s eyes were filling with tears. Panic rose in him. Was that the wrong thing to say? Had he said the wrong thing once again?
“Oh baby, I was so worried I was just another mark. Just another boy toy to use and discard. A rung on your ladder.”
Vegas’ heart seized. Of course, Pete thought that way. He had treated Pete like he was just another one of his idiotic lovers. He had spurned him, hurt him and made him feel worthless. That was all on him and nobody else.
“Oh, Pete, I am so sorry. I never should’ve treated you that way. You are so much more than that.”
Pete swiped at the tears running down his face and wrapped his arms around Vegas. Vegas let him hug him tightly and cursed himself. He wasn’t sure he could forgive himself for his actions. All he knew was that if he wanted to keep Pete, he needed to start treating him like what he was, everything.
“It’s alright. As long as I actually mean something to you, as long as what we have is real, then it doesn’t matter what you do. You’re mine, and I’m yours. As long as you remember that you’re mine as much as I am yours, we won’t have a problem.”

Fanfic recommendations about Pete Phongsakorn Saengtham
- Just some of my favorite fics that center around his character, with or without VP elements - Hello people! I've done the same post on Twitter a while back but it needs to be in here as well, where I can actually tag the people responsible for giving me so many feelings about my son (+ no word limit so I can show my appreciation properly). I love all of you, you're the best ❤️
Tumblr media
Deep Dive by @ameliarating I need to start this off with my favorite Pete fic of all time. Zaatar's writing brings so much emotion out of me. It felt like I was slowly suffocating underwater, a sense of claustrophobia consuming me, making my chest feel tight. The mix of good and bad memories Pete has about the safehouse is impeccably utilized in this fic, instances when he wanted the rope, when he didn't, when he wanted to hide etc. He feels conflicted and it's so obvious in its subtlety here, in a good way. Even thinking about it now makes me want to cry, truly an incredible fic. I would also suggest you read Civil Hands by them as well, a fantastic character study about Pete and his relationship with violence.
drank every scar by @ginnymoonbeam Oh my lord, this fic destroyed me. There's been only a small amount of instances in which every sentence of a fic made me gasp and need a minute to gather my thoughts and this is one of them. I can't believe how accurately they portrayed Pete here. His total disregard for his own well being, his reluctance to open up to Vegas about his injury, his total lack of self worth. It made me go feral and it's only (almost) 3k words. So much impact, so much characterization, such spectacular work. As a Pete fan, thank you immensely for this, I keep coming back to it a lot.
won't give up these ghosts by @fleet-off This fic blew me away when I first read it. What might sound like a silly, grim idea at first glance actually managed to capture the core aspects of Pete's character and how they bounce off of Vegas' character, showcasing their relationship post canon in a way that felt so real and so them. His need to shut off and be invisible to the world expressed through this weird habit of his captured my attention and never let it go, which was only possible because of fleet's spectacular writing. Go read all of her fics, she's a gifted writer and the VP fandom becomes richer every time she posts.
Once You Are Real by @veliseraptor Oh God, this fic lives rent free in my mind. The "Pete got forgotten" storyline has so much potential post canon and Lise's way of dealing with it blew me away. It was explored wonderfully and Pete's feelings came through so beautifully, it stuck with me after finishing it. It's a concept that's difficult to portray well, keeping characters as close to canon behavior as possible, but Lise managed to pull through and bring us this fantastic fic. I would suggest checking out the rest of their fics, they're a very talented writer.
splinter by @lu-sn Here comes lusn with her mission to cause me emotional damage with every fic she writes. She usually does so with her Macau centric fics, making me an even bigger fan of the cute, little gremlin than I already was, but in this list, I want to talk about splinter and how it devastated me. The relationship between Pete and Chan has captivated me and the way it was showcased here made me gasp by the end of it. It's nice to read fics with a little more realistic approach to Pete's situation once he returned to the main family from the safehouse and Lusn nailed it! Read all of her fics immediately, she's great!
It's There for the Asking by @minorfamilysupremacy I simply cannot express how much this fic touched me. While reading it, I kept picturing Pete from ep 9 and his bubbly, drunk self; Ellie captured that image perfectly in her fic. So many emotions packed in 1.5k words, I don't know how she did it but she gets Pete's character so much and she portrays him so well. His conversation with Vegas was one of the best I've ever read in any VP fic, in regards to being centered around him. I can't thank her enough for this gift. Check out the rest of her fics, each and every one of them is phenomenal.
Winning and Losing by @thelastperformer OMG, pls go read this fic immediately, I don't know why it's so underrated. The concept, Pete's characterization, the other characters, the narrative choices, the writing, all of it is so so good and deserves to be experienced, especially from Pete fans. Pete shines brilliantly here, his violent side, his efficiency, his love and concern for those he loves. I enjoyed the hell out of it and you should definitely give it a chance.
I Ain't Done by @kuipereris This fic punched me multiple times in the face and I said thanks. It isn't for everyone - as it has a MCD - but for those who can stomach it, the concept and how it's executed brought so much emotion out of me (surprisingly, I didn't cry but I felt everything to my core). We see how Pete struggles post safehouse and the choices he made, trying to navigate this new reality he lives in and it's just so effective in its narrative. I hadn't seen Pete's feelings being explored in this way before and I immensely appreciated it. Go check out the rest of their fics, they're angsty af and delicious.
words spilling out like sand by @loveable-sea-lemon VegasPete and poetry?? From Pete's POV?? HELL YES! I keep coming back to it from time to time, the poems are so mesmerizing and pack so much emotion into them. I really liked how Pete's feelings about Vegas were explored in this form, it's very unique. Check out the other poem as well from the poems for pete <;3 series, it's emotional and a very good read.
'cause your hands and lips still know their way around by @waitforthestars This was one of the first fics I read I believe, when I had first joined the VP fandom. I really like it and it holds a fond place of nostalgia in my heart now, even though it's been a couple of months since I read it. The thoughts Pete has here flow like blood, messy and jumbled like his mind. I loved the writing style, it felt like it fit with Pete's mental state once he escaped from the safehouse. Good job!
Of course, I'm sure there are more amazing Pete centric fics out there that I could very well not have discovered or not mentioned in this post. I just wanted to gather some of my favorites so that I can share the love for them with the rest of you. Pls pls pls, if you know of more Pete centric fics and want to talk about them, share them. I can't get enough of my boy, I'll appreciate it to no end. Thank you ❤️

THE ONE WHERE PETE DIES????!
Fleet’s already asked about this one, but if you’re here for more angst:
When he gets back, Vegas goes to see Macau. He lies through his teeth about where he’s been and where he’s going, and he doesn’t tell Macau he loves him when he leaves because he doesn’t want to worry him.
It doesn’t matter anyway. Vegas isn’t very good at keeping the things he loves alive.
Sorry?

For the AU game: MVP and anything involving dance - Step Up, Center Stage, Hairspray, anything!
ooooooh this is bait for me 😂 two options came to mind, but you specified MVP so here you go:
1. macau is in jail. he comes from gang roots and he got caught doing something stupid and also bad enough that they bumped him up from juvie. but he's still very young, and impressionable, and he oscillates unpredictably between teenage rage and scared kid. jail is a very bad place for him to be
2. guess who else is in jail! pete!!!! pete's been in there for a very long time for patricide an Unspecified Crime. he's not... powerful within the prison hierarchy, or anything like that, but people respect him enough to keep his distance. you don't start shit with pete
3. you're like wtf lu where is the dancing? WELL. pete's also a breakdancer.
(breakdancing culture is traditionally steeped in gang culture, and breakdancing battles between gangs in circa-70s NYC were often a way to settle disputes without outright violence. it was also something that a lot of kids who grew up then attribute to saving their lives, because it gave them an outlet to channel their time and energy and anger. it kept them out of jail. and if they were already in jail when starting to learn, it saved them there, too.)
i think a young pete with a murder charge slapped on his back and a scrawny build and boxer's fists would get into a lot of fights in jail. i imagine someone saw the raw fight in him, recognized it as potential, picked him up by the scruff of his neck and went "kid, you're gonna get your lights punched out before you hit 20" — and taught him how to break. and pete takes to it really well. it requires strength, and precision, and guts, and... not all that much sense of musical timing 😅
4. so pete sees macau getting caught up in the stirrings of a fight macau can't win, and pete hauls him out of there, and he pays it forward. macau is an angry stubborn little shit about it — but goddamn, breaking is so cool. he loves the way it feels to get a move right after hours and hours of failing. he loves how it feels to fly around in circles on the floor, almost weightless, but with power, too, power he earned with his own blood and sweat.
and macau misses his brother so much, but here pete is, taking care of him, teaching him, giving him something to put all of himself into. and pete is always so proud of him when he nails a combo, or when he battles with all his heart. macau loves it. it saves him. pete saves him
5. macau gets out of jail before pete, and he's thrilled to be back with vegas, but he's different now. settled, in a way that makes vegas so relieved. and he's talking vegas's ear off about this guy named pete who's "so fucking cool hia, he's so chill... i miss him a lot."
i am rapidly losing control of this train so i'm reining it in. tl;dr vegas takes macau to visit pete in prison and then vegas and pete fall in love and when pete gets out he comes to live with them and they're all still in the gang life but pete and macau get to dance together 4evr 😂 the end

platonic macauchay (with mentions of kimchay)
wip wednesday on a friday. let's gooo this is in the same universe as my this wip. progress is being made
As he was walking, he paused at a window that only just gave him a view of the entrance of the house. Chay stayed there, watching like a ghost trapped in the home they died in. He only tore his eyes away when he heard footsteps approaching.
Macau was walking in his direction. The two were the closest in age and yet they never spoke. Porsche told him he wasn't too bad, but Tankhun insisted that the only thing he was good for at a party was to be a piñata.
"Can I join you?" Macau asked, already stepping up to the window. He pulled out his phone and opened up a game on it. Chay had seen Vegas nudge Macau's arm earlier and tell him to shut it off.
"What are you playing?" Chay looked over his shoulders and saw a series of black and white tiles on the screen.
"It's a piano tile game. Basically, you're just trying to get a faster score. I've been trying to beat Pete's score for the past two days, but I'm starting to think it's impossible," Macau explained.
The pair stayed like this for a long time before either one of them spoke again. Chay watched Macau play, and Macau repeatedly failed at trumping Pete's high score. The only sounds between them were the dull taps of Macau's fingers on the screen.
"So I take it you didn't want this party?" Macau asked after giving up on his game and pocketing his phone. “I’m Macau, by the way.”
"Yeah, no, but they didn't really care about that," Porschay huffed and went back to staring outside the window. “I’m Porschay”
"That sounds rough. If it makes you feel better, I also didn't want to come. No offense but this party sounded lame."
"The thought was nice, but this isn't even that big of a deal. Going away parties shouldn't be for people who have been in a place for, like, a year and are moving 30 minutes away.”
Macau shrugged, “They must like you here.”
“I guess,” Porschay said, frowning. A feeling of guilt washed over him as he realized how long they had been outside of the party. “Why did you come here if you didn’t want to be here? We don’t even know each other.”
“My brother said if he had to come to this shit, so did I. He didn’t even have to come through. Pete said he wanted to go alone. Things would be so much less tense if he did,” Macau pursed his lips and rolled his eyes. “Vegas said he had to come, otherwise Pete would look single or something like that. I love my brother, but their engagement has made them fucking insufferable.”
“My brother’s the same exact way! I can’t invite him anywhere without him suggesting that Kinn come along or Kinn inviting himself. It’s like they can’t be two feet apart,” Porschay let the jealousy and resentment he had been pushing down crawl up his throat finally. It was like stinging bile in his mouth, but at least it was finally coming up rather than stewing in his stomach. “It’s so hard being around them sometimes. And then Tankhun invited my fucking ex to this party, so not only do I have to watch my brother be grossly in love with his boyfriend, I have to see my ex and his stupid face.”
“Sorry, but this party suddenly got interesting.” Macau leaned in closer with a smile. “Who is it? I thought the only one not here was Kimhan.”
“Speak of the devil,” Porschay narrowed his eyes at the sleek black car pulling up to the front door. He looked away, but he could perfectly picture Kim coming out of the passenger side door. Chay’s mind put him in a tight white tank top and those black leather pants he constantly dreams of (when Chay saw him wear those in a music video, he didn’t think he would recover). He wonders if he could see his rings from this far. “Do you want to ditch and see my apartment?”
“Things only just started getting good though.” Macau had an amused expression on his face but gave in reluctantly when he noticed Porschay's disappointed look. He sighed and put an arm around Chay’s shoulders. “Lead the way, Porschay.”

KPTS rec list #2
Check out the 1st rec list here!
A lot of VegasPete recs, but also rarepairs, gen fic, and some KimChay and KinnPorsche! Note: I read many of these fics months ago, so I can’t give any content warnings that aren’t already on AO3. Curate your experience and have fun!
VegasPete
the sea like the sky on a sunny day; swimming as soaring above the world (T rated) by littlelamblittlelamb
Vegas knew it would happen. Pete’s home town is on an island — it is sun and beaches and food that has Vegas schooling his features and reaching for a glass of water. Vegas knew it was only a matter of time before Pete’s grandmother saw his handiwork. -- During a trip to Pete's island hometown, Pete's grandparents see the scars on Pete's chest.
The Tension Between (E rated) by @wedielike
Pete's a good fighter. Vegas knew that. He didn't know just how hot it would be for Pete to kick his ass, but it is. It very much is.
An Interlude in the Space Between Light and Shadow (M rated) by lewdhandholding
One of Kinn’s guards is a step ahead of Vegas’s attempt to flee the diamond auction venue, so Vegas decides to indulge his anger and frustration for a moment. After all, Pete makes such a perfect little chew toy. It might make Vegas feel a little better if he can get him to squeak.
Overcome (M rated) by @dual-desires
"Vegas, you're scaring me." Funny how those words, spoken in a different context, would've had Vegas' chest clamp up like a vice. But as it were, they merely made him curse his own inability to keep his mouth shut. — Vegas lets some of his darker thoughts slip out. Pete confronts him about it.
when he comes (E rated) by Anonymous
“Hm,” again. Vegas has stopped twisting, but he hasn’t let go, still tugging idly, crouched over Pete like a predatory bird. The pain is cold and strange and Pete thinks his dick might be leaking. “I want to eat you,” Vegas says absently. “Cut you open and eat you. How did that feel?”
changing the old gauze (E rated) by Anonymous
After Macau leaves the hospital room, Vegas and Pete settle into their first real moment alone since they came to an understanding about where they stand.
It's There for the Asking (M rated) by @minorfamilysupremacy
A drunk Pete gets philosophical.
All of It (E rated) by @ghost--houses
"I can't believe I fucking did that," Vegas says. "That was so fucking stupid." (in which the knifeplay does not go according to plan, but they get through it)
KimChay
deep in this sleeplessness (E rated) by @bisexualbard-writes
“Kim.” Chay keeps repeating, and hearing his name from those lips still makes something flutter in his chest, even after all these months. “Are you saying we could have been getting a good night’s sleep for like a week now and you didn’t tell me?” He shrugs again. Chay keeps emphasizing words accusatorily, like approaching him and saying, hey I think we’ve been cursed so that we can’t sleep unless we’re near each other please let me curl up next to you in bed, wouldn’t be batshit crazy. Kim can't sleep. Chay can't sleep. Somehow this leads to Kim spending his nights in Chay's bed with the Great Wall of Pillows standing firmly between them.
Freezer Bride (M rated) by williamshooketh
“I love you, Kim,” Chay had told him, his hand on Kim’s wrist. “I love you, but I don’t even know what I like, and I want to try stuff, and I don’t want to make you go along with it just because you feel like you should. I’m really, really sorry.” Kim and Chay open the relationship.
KinnPorsche
Begging for Belief (E rated) by @sincerelystranger
In his darkest moments – in the moments where he’s not allowed to be anyone other than his father’s son – Kinn wonders if Porsche is doing all of this on purpose. -- An extra scene at the end of 1x08
Storm to Weather (M rated) by @achray1
“I’m not going to prison. I’d rather die,” Kinn had said to him, a few weeks back.
In Time (M rated) by @achray1
Chay has totally the wrong impression of everything. Except that he isn’t wrong that Porsche, mafia boss, sometimes seems to Porsche himself like an entirely different person to Porsche, broke bartender and failing college student.
Rarepairs
Gonna Fade You Like That Rush (E rated) by @giraffeter (BigTimeTay)
"Come sit with us," Tay says with a warm, disarming smile. "I'm sure your friend won't mind." Big glances over at the table again. Ken is still busily chatting up the leggy Australian tourists they'd met earlier. "Come on, we don't bite,” Tay says. “Or I don't, anyway, but I can't make any promises for Time." Big can't think of a reason not to, and Tay is already walking ahead of him through the crowd. It would be rude not to follow him. ~ Tay and Time run into Big on his night off. Kinn may not want to play with his own toys, but he's never told them they couldn't help themselves.
Pete the hand-me-down by Anonymous (MacauPete, VegasPete)
From the kinkmeme prompt: Macau adores Pete as a guardian and new, second, safe and loving brotherdad, but he also unconsciously assumes Pete is his the way all of Vegas's things are his because Vegas shares everything with him because it was just them against the world for so long. So he unconsciously assumes he's going to age into being Pete's second boyfriend/pet owner. It's just logical to him. And maybe it's perfectly logical to Pete too.
but of you there ain't many. (E rated) by @evashougouki (VegasPorsche)
Vegas sits up and glares at Porsche, the neon lights of the bar casting harsh shadows under his cheekbones and eyes. He must have lost weight in the hospital— it makes him look gaunt. Still, when he sizes him up with those sharp eyes, Porsche feels small. “Don’t you have a boyfriend?” Vegas asks acidly, the last word practically dripping with venom, “And you’re buying drinks for random men at a random bar?” Vegas takes the drink, and Porsche pulls a chair up next to him. Porsche thinks that maybe they should ignore each other. Go home. They don’t. The bartender looks away and pretends he isn’t listening, but Porsche knows from experience that he likely is. Getting to hear random gossip and fights was one of the best parts of the job, as long as you’re not too obvious about it. “You have a boyfriend too, and you’re just accepting drinks from a random man at a random bar,” Porsche points out.
Like a Starless Lover (E rated) by williamshooketh (BigChan, BigKinn, BigGun, BigKorn)
Big, the men who aren't Kinn, and the mistakes he makes with them.
Gen Fic
ad infinitum. (T rated) by @adanima (Macau-centric)
Sometimes, Macau hates Vegas. Then he hates his father. Then he hates himself. "Maybe you’re scared I’ll do better than you. Maybe Pa will make me heir instead.” Vegas stares at him, fists clenched. A harsh breath comes out before he leaves Macau’s room. Seconds later, the crash of something shattering onto the floor rings through the halls. Macau screws his eyes shut.
welcome to the playground (M rated) by @tumsa (Ken-centric)
Ken gets hired as a bodyguard for the Theerapanyakul family.
reignite (T rated) by @lu-sn (Nampueng-centric)
Namphueng has been endlessly dreaming. She can only tell because for the first time in years, she might finally be awake.

VP in a Gothic setting? 👀 though of course locates and situated in Thai culture. Like VP already has the seeds of the Gothic.
Like think about it. In kinnporsche universe you have Korn locking up porsche's mom in a tower and no one is allowed to go to it. No one knows. Gun/Kan has wasted years thinking of this spectre and ruining Vegas/Macau's life. Vegas, the hound with that creepy symbolic painting ( i forget it's name) in his room. Vegas who remains drenched in blood. Vegas who catches Pete and locks him up and much like Korn would have loved to keep Pete in the safehouse.
Tawan's "ghost" haunts Porsche. Like!!!! With the right aesthetics kinnporsche could totally be a Gothic series.
Ooh, thanks for this ask, anon!
I do have to apologize in advance, because I am maybe going to have a wee semi-academic ramble in my response. You actually have me thinking a lot on the translation of aesthetics and traditions across cultures? Obviously, Gothic has European roots, and the origins of a tradition often play into its presentation in a multitude of ways that can make laying it uncritically atop another culture...thorny, to say the least.
That said, the Gothic has been broadened and translated and reinterpreted across a multitude of cultures, remolding its presentation to their traditions, superstitions, taboos, fears, etc. Because ultimately, Gothic tends more aesthetic than coherent genre, no? It’s a vibe, and a vibe can present itself in a thousand ways. These reiterated elements of fear, isolation, complicity, the ever-present reminders of a looming and violent past, the supernatural and macabre and grotesque--also the motifs you mention of imprisonment and specters (among many others)--appear all over the world in different forms and contexts.
So like. Fear, isolation, complicity, the violent past looming over the present. The ghosts of betrayal and loved ones long gone but still here, the layers of secrets, the woman in the attic, the ah. Repressive, semi-incestuous, all-consuming, glittering trap the family represents. KinnPorsche misses the mood of the Gothic, but the elements and motifs are there to play with for sure! I see your vision, anon 😂
Actually, my Stable Delusion WIP miiiight fall somewhere along the lines of what you’re wishing for with regard to VP. (If only it were complete...😅)
...Hah. You know what? I’m not posting more of that fic to Ao3 ’til the whole thing’s in its final form, but there’s no harm sharing the drafted first chapter here on Tumblr. Incoming!

hahaha just realised that in ep 14, everytime pete saw vegas and was with him, vegas' life was at threat. like there was so reprieve. and vegas placed himself at the mercy of pete. in the parking lot, when the other bodyguards come running, vegas turns to look at them, and then turns back to look at pete, and with no words said, just by the look on his face only, he's there asking him "what are you gonna do now with me, pete? my life's in your hands.". and when pete saves him, vegas already feels that there's little to no chance that he is going to make it out alive today. so he tells pete that he loves him, perhaps thinking that those would be his last dying words to pete. that if anything, he'd die knowing that pete is safe. and it'd be a pleasure to die by his hands, knowing atleast that means that pete is alive, if he's the one killing him.
and then again in the library where vegas sees his dad's dead body, vegas points his gun at korn, and pete points his gun at vegas, traumatised, and says "vegas, don't.". and pete's taken back to the parking lot and vegas' plea to him for it to be pete that kills him. and they don't even get the slightest bit of reprieve, because that opportunity is here already, testing pete, challenging pete - can you do it, pete? ('shoot me!!! i don't think you can, and you know why.' would be ringing in pete's ear like a blaring siren over and over again in that moment, mocking pete.). and if that isn't painful enough, the rest of the bodyguards join and point their guns at vegas, circling around him. and pete has to be a part of that circle then, too.
and i think pete seeing that. experiencing that. "that" being the fact that if he carries on, if they (vegaspete) carry on like this, on opposite sides, this predicament of vegas being on the other side of pete's gun, and pete having to constantly go through the agony of it, will never cease. that one day, he'll be given the task burden to kill him, and he will have to kill him. and then seeing vegas on the floor, with nothing left, looking up to korn. and knowing vegas' life was at korn's mercy in that instance, and pete knowing how much vegas would be hating that, hating owing that to korn, seeing him flee without even meeting his eyes despite telling him that he loves him, futher hammering it into pete that vegas at this point is only full of self-loathing, on a knife's edge, and that if pete doesn't go now, doesn't decide now, doesn't act now, he'll be placed in a situation for the 3rd time today where vegas will risk losing his life and he'll lose him. because this time, vegas won't even fight back. won't run away from the chance of ending it all. after all, what else is there left to live for? his dad's dead, pete is safe, and macau deserves better. vegas would embrace death.
so pete resigns and for the 3rd time, he sees vegas' life at risk. only this time, vegas himself is the one doing so. and that image is more harrowing to pete than anything else. his eyes, when he is clinging onto vegas as he weeps on the ground in his hold, look traumatised, the light from them gone. and vegas still won't look at him.
and when he finally does, in his vulnerable, open, tender glory, vegas gets snatched away from pete. all day, you know, the warning signs were there. and each time, they somehow escaped vegas dying and pete having to kill him. this time, pete doesnt even get the chance to point his gun at vegas. somebody else does that. and vegas' final dying plea to pete remains just that, a plea. that had vegas died, he'd have died telling pete that he loves him, but also that he doesn't see himself worthy or fit or good enough to feed pete, that somebody else more worthy and fit and good enough for pete could do so. could love pete better. that atleast pete is alive for that.
and not that i think pete didn't before, but now, pete cherishes vegas' life, even more than vegas does himself. vegas isn't invincible and he's swimming in a sea of sharks. vegas knew it wasn't safe and yet he still risked it all for pete, just to see him again, to apologise to him, behind the bar. was ready to hold the barrel of the gun to his chest so that all pete had to do was pull the trigger on him and put the bullets, however many he desired, through him. told pete that if his absence is what he wanted, then vegas would give him that.
and even now, that remains true. if you were to ask vegas right now if he would still be willing to let pete go, that if pete wanted to run, would he let him? he'd say yes, if that is what pete wants. if you were to ask him, would you give pete your absence, if that is what pete wanted? he'd say yes, if that is what pete wants.
but what pete wants is to follow his heart now, always. vegas has unlocked that from with him. this desire to be honest to himself. if that means killing someone in cold blood because they put the bullets through vegas, not him, and how dare they? how dare they take what is his? then he will.
because one thing is certain: when vegas is surrounded by death, he is never alone. pete is stood right there, with him. just that it's not on the other side of the gun, where pete is pointing it at vegas, anymore. instead, the gun points at them both, now.

obsessed with vegaspete’s codependency. they know it’s unhealthy, it’s what fucks pete up for a while. he doesn’t understand why he craves vegas so much, why he cannot breathe without him. he accepts his attachment and attraction to him but he cannot wrap his head around his dependency and his desire to be with vegas.
because, see. vegas realized pete had feelings for him before pete, himself, did. he knew that as much as pete might hate him for what he’s done, he hated vegas more for making him feel the way he did. he hated vegas for the storm he caused inside pete because pete couldn’t exist anymore the same way he did before. he couldn’t put on his fake smile and be a loyal little dog to the major family. every part of him craved vegas, missed him. and it was fucking unexplainable because he shouldn’t feel this way, not about vegas. and not about anyone, after such a short time.
and vegas — him saying he loves pete, it was fast. especially given how little he actually knows about pete but at the same time, he knows sides of pete nobody else does. he knows things so deeply hidden about him that just him knowing about these parts changed everything. so yes, it might have been fast, but vegas never learnt how to love in a healthy way (and his love for macau can’t even be brought into this conversation). he never learnt how to love, probably was never allowed to but the one time he let his guard down enough to let someone in, to let someone see him, he fell, hard. because he saw himself in pete, he felt understood, listened to, he felt accepted, he felt his intensity being returned and for vegas, that’s all he ever wanted. he’s already shown to have a bit of an obsessive streak so him becoming obsessed and so attached to pete so quick is not a surprise. he was ready to start a new life with pete, someone he’s “known” — really, truly known, for like a week. and i think vegas recognizes immediately that this is fucked up, that it’s a little insane and intense, and it dawns on him even more when pete escapes.
once back at the major family, while pete is trying to unpack his feelings for vegas, the romantic connection, the burning need for vegas — not necessarily just sexual, but overall need to exist with vegas by his side, vegas is a step further. he already recognized this part in himself, he knows he cannot live without pete. but what’s even more important, he knows that pete cannot live without him either. they crave each other in such a deprived, primal way because they’re the only ones who really know the other one.
and then vegas spits it in pete’s face — shoot me! i don’t think you can and you know why, — and pete can’t ignore it anymore because vegas is in front of him again and against everything in him telling him to just shoot him, he can’t. he is the only person pete allows himself to be pete with, he might be the source of his misery but he’s there to catch pete when he falls apart in his arms. and again, it’s fucked, but all throughout the evening, pete has been miserable. and when vegas showed up, yes, he was still miserable for ten new reasons now, too, but at least he was with vegas again.
and then. and then the parking lot scene. pete doesn’t want vegas dead. pete wants to rip out his heart and vegas with it, but can’t. when vegas is in real danger — of getting shot by others, he saves him by shooting him instead. pete wants vegas to hurt the same way he did, throws all of his conflicted feelings into every punch and vegas takes it because he deserves it. because he knows he deserves way more than this. but then vegas asks him to kill him, if it comes to it, and pete’s brain freezes. because no, no, no, no, fucknonono. he can’t have vegas dead. he can’t lose vegas. he cannot live without vegas, nononono. i think that’s when it dawns on him, that he cannot live without vegas, no matter how little sense it makes. and then vegas says he loves him and kisses him, all bloody, and runs away and fuck. pete knows he could lose vegas any second and he can’t deal with that.
pete gives up everything he knew for vegas and in such a short span of time — between the parking lot scene and the pool one, he’s come to accept that he cannot live without vegas. he wants him, all of him, with all of their fucked up history, he needs vegas. and then vegas tries to push him away and pete is on his knees, begging to be with him and it’s so fucked up that he wants to belong to vegas, but he really does want all of it. i think in his desperation to get vegas to listen is the first time he allows himself to be truly honest about the depth of his feelings, because he has to show vegas he wants him just as much as vegas wants pete. that vegas might have lost everything, but pete gave up everything for him.
and then vegas gets shot and pete falls apart, and screams in agony and spends who knows how long by his bedside, waiting for vegas to wake up. pete killed for vegas without a second thought, without hesitation and that’s something he probably had to deal with. imagine the desperation while not knowing if vegas would ever recover, waiting for him to come out of surgery. fearing what would happen once he wakes up because what if he has lasting injuries? and even more than that, vegas lost his father and his family title, he truly only has pete and macau now — how will he deal with that? how will pete deal with that?
but vegas wakes up and while i’m sure his recovery is nowhere near an easy one, his feelings for pete are unchanged. pete was awake while vegas was recovering and he had plenty of time to think and overthink their relationship and his feelings for vegas, but vegas had been asleep. and then vegas woke up and he said that pete is the most important person in his life and they probably both know how fucking insane that is, given everything and their time together, but he’s not even lying (macau is always implied to be the most important and loved in his life, too) and at that point, pete feels the same way.
and we could say that maybe they’re only this codependent because so much insane and intense shit was squeezed into such a short span of time but no — no. vegas, by nature, is undoubtedly an intense person. he is So Much, he feels So Much and with burning intensity. he doesn’t half ass anything, he is a 110% type of person but it’s always been somewhat downplayed because nobody could really handle such a big bite. until pete. because sweet, funny pete, who seemed so mellow and vanilla in every way, almost watered down, i’d say, turned out to be someone who could match this intensity with his own. his is not the same as vegas’, i wouldn’t say that. they complete each other in a very interesting way, because they can both go high and low — pete can match vegas’ fervor, he can even add more fuel to it but vegas can also match pete’s because pete is a safe space for him to be himself, to show a calmer, gentler side of himself, to slow down for a second and just breathe.
they work wonderfully together, even if it’s a little dysfunctional at times, but they both recognize that without each other, they would fall apart. they’ve both seen the light at the end of the tunnel and the depths of the darkness with and thanks to each other and they cannot let go, cannot let go of finally being allowed to be just themselves with someone and being loved for it.

Summary:
Chay lets his forehead thunk against the wall of the elevator. “We already changed things in this one; Vegas and Tawan didn’t kidnap me this time.” “Ugh. Hate that fuckwit,” Macau says under his breath, then, louder, “But your brother still ran away with my brother, and Ken will still catch Pete.” “Y’know,” Chay muses, “I’ve never actually met Pete. Everyone told me to stay away because he was always with your brother.” “Pete’s cool,” Macau says. Chay turns, expecting him to continue, but that seems to be all he’ll say on the subject. “He fell in love with your brother,” Kim retorts as the elevator dings, doors opening to let them out on Kim’s floor. “I don’t think that makes him cool.” “Shut the hell up,” Macau says, sweeping past him into the hall. (or, Kim, Chay, and Macau do it again, only this time, they start the day Chay was kidnapped.)
