Atticwife Pete
For @sweatyflytrap and @adanima who encouraged me to finally finish this plot bunny
Pete is high off the adrenaline of being free and knocking out Vegas. It really only takes him as far as the grave they dug for Khun Spikes. He gives up and sits with everything I love leaves me running through his head. But Vegas doesn’t love him. That’s the crux of the matter. Still, he thinks of Vegas pleading for him to stay as he took off the cuffs and he stays. He stays next to the grave and eventually becomes aware of Nop (which seems to be the accepted name for Vegas’ bodyguard though I don’t know where it came from) right next to him when Nop pokes him.
Nop: so, what’s the plan?
Pete: ???
Nop: Khun Vegas says I’m supposed to let you go if you want and make sure you make it there safely but you’re not leaving and he says you’re a person not a pet and won’t come get you.
Pete: *sniffles and sobs in the ensuing awkward silence*
Nop: he was making curry in case you come back?
This is a winning argument. Pete gets up and pads over to peer through the patio door. And there’s Vegas dishing food out onto plates. They make eye contact and Vegas takes a step forward. Pete takes one back. And Vegas just stops. Pete can’t hear anything through the glass door but Vegas’ face is desperate and pleading. Pete’s tired and hungry and his heart hurts. Cautiously, one eye on Vegas, he steps closer and closer and eventually opens the door. He pauses on the threshold.
Pete: are you going to tie me back up?
He’s not entirely sure he cares if the answer is yes. Vegas has fundamentally changed him. He’s not sure how to go on living without him. Still, he’ll feel infinitely better if Vegas wouldn’t chain him back up. (Just because he doesn’t particularly like going out, doesn’t mean he doesn’t appreciate the option)
But Vegas shakes his head frantically. He won’t chain him up or lock him up or anything as long as Pete stays, he promises. And so Pete comes within feeding distance. They eat. And after it’s over, Pete sags onto his chair. Vegas eyes him cautiously. “Pete” he looks up. “Please, don’t leave me.” And Pete doesn’t really have a plan to leave. He already tried and failed. Still, maybe if Vegas hurts him again, he can convince his brain that this is an option. “Why?” “Because I love you.” And Pete doesn’t believe him is the thing. Because Pete’s seen the people Vegas has left behind in his wake, desperate and broken, while Vegas just moved on to the next target. Still, Vegas begs and pleads and Pete is tired. He doesn’t believe him but Vegas swears he’ll prove it to him. So he lets Vegas lead him upstairs and they sleep, Vegas wrapped around him.
Or rather, Pete sleeps. Vegas is too afraid he’ll wake up and Pete will be gone to do anything but cling to him all night and think about how to keep him.
In the morning, they lay in bed looking at each other. “You know we can’t be together as long as your dads around right?” And Vegas does know. He’s spent most of the night listing all the reasons he should get rid of his dad. He’s mostly convinced himself and come up with a plan to deal with it to boot. Still, everything depends on Pete choosing to stay. And so, he begs and pleads until Pete acquiesces. They spend the day together, clingy and unsure but desperately in love with each other. Vegas doesn’t say it because Pete doesn’t believe him. Pete doesn’t say it because he doesn’t trust him and doesn’t want to give him that power.
In the morning, Vegas begs a kiss off Pete and leaves. And Pete curls up in their bed, huddling under blankets, ears pricked for a sign of his return. When he hears a car, he throws off the blankets and rushes downstairs only to find Nop. And Macau. Who is utterly befuddled.
Macau has no idea what’s going on. He woke up this morning, met his brother who was an utter mess and who asked him to be nice to the person he loved, and he was bundled into a car and sent away. And now he’s staring at the bodyguard who was stalking Vegas but then disappeared. He’s in rough shape and it’s pretty obvious what happened. Still, he’s never seen Vegas like that before. If his brother is in love with some bodyguard and wants him to be nice to him, he can try his best. At least this new guy can’t be as annoying as Tawan.
Nop explains that Vegas is planning to take out his dad and wanted Pete to keep himself and Macau safe and out of the way while he does it. And Pete believes him now. Because Vegas loved his brother. And he would never compromise Macau’s safety for a game. And so they stay at the safehouse. Pete lifelessly, not sure what he’s supposed to be doing other than waiting for Vegas and taking care of Macau. Macau is worried for his brother but also because Pete seems like a zombie. As more days pass without Vegas, Pete gets more worried. And starts making plans. If all else fails, he could probably hide Macau out with his grandma. No one would think to look for him there. Especially if Pete returns to the Main House after, claiming to have escaped Vegas. He wouldn’t be able to keep him in the lifestyle he’s undoubtedly used to but he would be safe. In a distant corner of his mind, he’s mentally howling, waiting for Vegas to come back. You tore open my heart, he wants to say, please don’t leave me to bleed.
Macau is not too worried honestly. The majority of the Minor Family is loyal to Vegas rather than his dad. Other than his dad’s personal guards, everyone prefers Vegas. Probably, he’s just working out the logistics of the coup and making sure everything’s settled before bringing them back.
Meanwhile in Bangkok, Vegas has managed to manipulate the evidence to condemn his dad rather than himself. He’s also managed to get the kitchen staff to poison his dad’s alcohol so that it looks like he realized the game was up and committed suicide rather than face the consequences. Kinn doesn’t believe it at all but there’s no proof and Korn insists that he let it go. For his part, without the attack, Korn can’t justify not letting Vegas inherit without endangering his benevolent family man image. So Vegas becomes head of the Minor Family. Tankhun is furious because he’s convinced Pete is dead and by this point, so is everyone else. Still, Pete was sent to spy and everyone knows what happens to spies. In the end, the only person who can be blamed is the one who sent him says Korn and absolves Vegas of guilt. Of course, Pete’s friends still blame Vegas but there’s nothing to be done.
Vegas, meanwhile, renovates his house. He pays an absurd amount of compensation if the builders can get the changes he wants done within a week. For triple the fee to the company and triple the pay for the individual workers, they’re motivated and they finish on time. Meanwhile, Vegas has been securing his hold on the Minor Family and pulling out of all the things he thought were bad investments. Most of which conflict with the Main Family.
Porsche, still angry over Pete, but desperate to figure out Korn’s connection to his parents seeks out Vegas. Vegas turns him down. He has his own family to protect, he explains. He’s already on thin ice with the Main Family and he’s not risking his family for Porsche. Porsche, unhappy, understands. Still, Vegas recognizes the lady in the picture on his dad’s desk and lets Porsche poke around in there. This is how Porsche finds out about his mom’s connection to the Theerapanyakuls and his parents’ death at Korn’s hands. He has no idea how to handle this when he gets news of Korn’s death. He sticks around lost for a few hours as he tries to recover his hazy memories.
Meanwhile, Vegas has been told construction is complete. And Korn’s death makes it the perfect time to bring back Pete while maintaining the illusion that he’s dead. Except you know. Porsche is having a breakdown in his house. Ugh. So he finds Porsche and makes up some bs about love that convinces Porsche to go support Kinn. And he waits.
It takes no time at all really for some other family to attack the Main House. When he hears the news, he grabs a car and goes to the safehouse.
Because a change in leadership is the perfect time to try making a power grab. If Gun had been alive, he wouldn’t have been the only one to try it, just the first to put it into action.
Pete, meanwhile, throws himself at Vegas and sobs out I love yous because Vegas could’ve died without knowing. Macau makes himself scarce and Vegas is getting teary eyed too because Pete loves him and is promising to stay.
Eventually, they reunite, Macau and Pete at the countertop, watching Vegas cook. Pete and Vegas can’t keep their eyes off each other though Vegas is telling them what’s been happening while Macau asks questions and Pete watches silently.
It’s after they eat that Vegas lays out his plan. He’s going to take Pete back to the Minor House. He’ll send a guard back for Macau whenever the attack on the Main House is over and claim that his absence was because he was stowing him away at a safe house.
Pete is torn. Because an attack on the Main House? Pete is loyal. But Khun Noo has Arm and Pol and all the other bodyguards and will surely be alright. And Pete may have been a prized bodyguard but in the end he was just a bodyguard. A tool. One more body to live and die for the family. Pete has only ever lived for others and the only person who’s really loved him has been his grandma.
But Vegas is willing to let him contact his grandma. And the part of Pete that wants to be loved is willing to let Vegas keep him hidden away like some precious treasure. And so Vegas smuggles Pete back into the Minor House. He’s had his secret rooms remodeled for Pete. Now, there’s a room that’s Vegas’ room. And in that room, there’s a secret way to open a hidden door to Pete’s room. Pete’s room has a balcony with a staircase that leads down to a small garden that’s been walled off. The whole thing has been constructed so that people wouldn’t notice that something was off without extremely careful scrutiny. He sits with Pete and they choose furniture together. Pete’s never had this much choice before. Vegas encourages him to actually pick things.
They’ve already planned out how they’re going to decorate the room and have things set for delivery when they hear the attack has failed. Also that Korn is alive. Pete is very offended by Korn’s abusive father behavior. But not enough to go back. Kinn has heard by now that Vegas was the one to encourage Porsche to go back and is willing to come to a tentative truce with Vegas as long as he toes the line. He’s too busy dealing with Korn’s bullshit and it’s continued effects on his relationship anyway. Macau is summoned back and he’s a little weirded out that Pete has decided to live in a room in his brothers room but decides to stay out of what they do in their bedroom(s).
Pete becomes the most open secret in the Minor Family House. Because he rarely leaves his room and never leaves the house but all the staff knows Khun Vegas keeps his wife locked up in his room. None of them know about the inner room because they’re not allowed in either room so they think Pete just lives in Vegas’ outer room.
But also, this is the one secret no one really cares about. People know what Khun Vegas will do to them if they dare mention his wife outside. And also it’s not really information that anyone will pay for. Pete is not a vulnerability to be exploited because he never leaves the house. He doesn’t even leave his room most days. Not even if Vegas is out. If that’s the case, Macau takes food up for him. No one else is allowed in and people think they’ll be caught if they try to sneak into Vegas’ room for information because he has a live in wife.
People aren’t even sure what Pete knows. For all they know, it’s just another plaything who’s become obsessed with Khun Vegas, only this time Khun Vegas decided he might be useful and decided to keep him. Does he get told confidential information? Is it even a vulnerability or is it just Khun Vegas maintaining the illusion to keep him brainwashed? No one knows.
What they do know is that he’s to be treated as the de facto mistress of the house. Macau defers to him but also is known to play along to most of Vegas’ schemes so who knows. The revolving door to Vegas’ bedroom has become blocked off but that was always a bit of a security leak anyway. And maybe Khun Vegas is growing up and settling down.
And this is how Pete becomes Vegas’ attic wife who lives in a secret room in Vegas’ bedroom.

formally starting chapter three of amethyst haze, so here's a sneak peek thats been in my draft document since the beginning !!! :3
Tumblr media
Shinsou tells them how he’s going to meet up with you again this Sunday. Aizawa’s back stiffens but shows no other reactions. Yamada beams, “isn’t that adorable! It’s so rare to hear you talking about dates!”
Shinsou chokes on the piece of potato he was about to swallow at Yamada’s choice of words. Eri hands him his glass of water with an innocent smile but when he looks at her to thank her, she smiles mischievously, gleeful that her brother’s now the child whose love life their dads are obsessing over. He sighs and rubs the space between his eyebrows, “I’m not sure what it is yet, but calling it a date might be far-fetched.”
Aizawa grunts and takes his glass of water to his lips, “that may also be for the better.”
Now everyone’s looking at him. There’re different stages of confusion to be read in every family member’s face; Yamada’s being the most prominent one. Shinsou almost looks disgusted at the uncalled for comment.
“Why?” Yamada inquires, confused and unsure about what could’ve warranted such a response from his husband. Aizawa remains unfazed as he puts the glass back down, “it can be tricky to date such a big and devoted fan.”
“Aaah.” Eri lets out, performatively giving her father the feeling of being understood, though she hardly sees the issue either. From her point of view, the fact that her anti-social big brother is going out to do stuff besides a few beers occasionally, is a pretty amazing development.
“Huh?” Yamada says, nose scrunching up. Shinsou holds back a snort before he calmly replies, “I never thought you’d be the type of person to oppose that kind of thing.” Aizawa lifts his eyes only to look at his son sitting across from of him at the table, “and why is that?”
“Because you adopted one.”
This makes poor Eri, who was on her way to take a sip of water, spit the water back down the glass. Yamada howls out a laugh with his head thrown back. Aizawa’s eyes widens for a moment, surprised by the answer before he looks back down to his plate.
“There’s a big difference. I was an adult when I took in you two.”
Shinsou’s argument is not wrong and Aizawa knows it. Shinsou had, before even meeting his soon-to-be mentor, owned more Eraser Head merchandise than anyone else and even owned things Aizawa didn’t even know had been produced in his hero name. Shinsou had later confessed to having made it himself.
“Which is arguably a much bigger deal, isn’t it? Also you were about the same age as I am now.”
This actually seems to stump Aizawa, the comment about age. Shinsou hadn’t foreseen that to become a winning argument. Yamada wipes a stray tear from laughing before he squeezes Aizawa’s shoulder affectionately, “dear, you and I both know that Hitoshi’s a great judge of character so I hardly believe that we need to”-he stops to let out another laugh and looks at Shinsou-“God I’ve missed listening to you two bicker, I swear. You got that humor from me!”
Shinsou shakes his head and laughs, before scraping up the last of the curry from his plate, avoiding the carrots purposely. He clears his throat, “a-anyway. It’s not like we’re dating… I’m sure most of their interest in me is in my work and my persona, y’know? So there’s hardly any need for concern.”

Renée Contreras
Title: Chief Compliance Officer
Age: 43
Pronouns: They/She (though they don't mind being called "Sir")
Education: LLM in Corporate Law; MBA; MLIS
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Known for: Having no holes in their arguments, such to the point that some people simply refer to them as "Ironclad"
Also known for: Giving the previous CEO such a dressing down that he quit (though he was going to be fired anyway).
Tumblr media
The story goes, that when Renée had been on the board for about 5 years, Yaiel, their daughter (adopted through marriage), was diagnosed with chronic myelogenous leukemia, they decided to step down to ease up their work load. With 11 members on the board, when the votes hit a rare 5/5, they were usually the one to tip the scale because they don't make decisions to curry favor. That said, their call usually was in-line with the former CEO's, so he got used to winning, but the candidate who was a shoe-in to replace Renée on the board, was a straight-up wildcard, so the former CEO was bemoaning his future odds and stepped way out of line when he told them that because they say they aren't a woman, they shouldn't be staying home to take care of a child. The gasps and murmurs from the others in the room subsided just as Renée broke out in laughter.
Tumblr media
They didn't need to do anything because the COO (who HR reports to) was there, along with the rest of the C-Suite, so there was no getting around it, but after Renée dried their tears of laughter, they verbally beat the former CEO within an inch of his corporate life and then went off to lunch. The funniest thing was that they initially had no plans of "staying home", only lightening their responsibilities, but 3 months after the current CEO settled in, Renée packed up their office and began working from home indefinitely.
Once or twice a month, they'll show their face at the office and try to convince Doris (@igotsnothing) and Kalice to step out for lunch.
---Possibly my last submission for @kashisun's The Simblr Office.

unfavorite parts of Ms?
for ms1 it was mostly shun being the temporary leader and how that whole thing was resolved. it was nice that marucho was finally able to talk some sense into him but shun winning that battle was frustrating when he was running on 0 hrs of sleep and had been battling for days.
i also disliked how the show wrapped up the feud between dan, marucho and shun. i wish dan had been confronted by marucho and not shun in s4ep18 because having shun scold dan for isolating himself and pushing away his friends felt really hypocritical given how he had been doing the same from ep 9-13. dan and marucho could've had an argument in s4ep18 and then gotten separated from the others and left to talk out their feelings in s4ep19.
marucho as a character has come such a long way, no longer idolizing dan the way he used to, able to take a stand against his father and assume the mantle of leader from the person who (most likely) inspired him to change and want more for himself. i would've LOVED for them to have a conversation that took all of that into account, where dan could tell marucho how great of a leader he was instead of marucho having to hear it from RAFE. but i digress.
oh yeah and spectra's appearances sucked. i wish he hadn't shown up period.
as for ms2 i kind of don't like all of it. the only redeemable things about that season is the reptak/gunz/wiseman storyline and julie and runo being there but honestly, runo would've been better off not having appeared at all. her contribution to the team is so minuscule that a watch can take her place (which is coincidentally the reason why she ends up electrocuted in the same episode lol) and then she doesn't even get to witness the final battle with the rest of the side characters because dan asked her to make him curry so that's what she does :))

Hi♡ it's my first time making a request but first of all how do you feel lately? I do really hope you are good! I don't know if you still take any request but I wanted to request (if you want to) a story between a fem reader and Thoma who doesn't know how to cook :)
The reader doesn't know how much condiments to put,the proportion and its getting her mad not knowing that 😂
I mean something fluffy and happy a Thoma that stay with the reader teaching them how to cook ♡
Thank you so much again for reading and have a lovely day/night ♡
Yes. I love this plot so much honestly. I got a little carried away while writing so I hope it isn't nonsense that I'm about to post. I hope you have a wonderful day/night too!! Thank you!♡♡
quick a/n: I know it's meant to be fem! reader, but there really wasn't any need for using pronouns or anything since it's just moments between the reader and Thoma. [Name] is intended to be fem but can be read as gn too. I hope you enjoy!!
Stir and Mix | Thoma x Fem! Reader
type: fanfic
Summary: You suck at cooking. Not much else to say except the phrase, 'let him cook' can't be applied to you. Hopefully Thoma can help you with that problem.
1.6k words
Warning(s): nothing other than [Name]'s radioactive cooking.
Tumblr media
"It's a start..." Thoma gave you a stiff smile, trying his best not to grimace.
On a plate in front of him sat what could only be described as an absolute abomination. Thoma had gotten sick and you took it upon yourself to try and make something for him to eat. Emphasis on the 'try'.
It was safe to say that cooking had never been your speciality. You were one of those people who had the ability to burn water by complete accident.
Thoma sighed, shaking his head lightly. He found it endearing that you put in so much effort to make him something, however, it usually ended up in him having to clean up after you without your knowledge, but he never told you or complained about it.
You were kind of proud of your work, and seeing Thoma's tense expression made your shoulders drop a little. This time, you were sure you thoroughly followed the recipe, but it's the thought that counts ig.
"It's a very good first try at making uh..." for the life of him, he couldn't tell what the dish even was.
"It's curry."
"Right."
"..."
"Why is it purple...?"
"Don't ask."
- A few hours ago -
"Leave it to me!" You grinned, pointing at your chest with your thumb.
"How about I do it once I get better?" Thoma protested, trying to get out of the bed you practically tossed him in before letting out a loud sneeze.
"But you're sick and you need to rest. Besides, you work too much." You pushed him by a hand on his chest, his back hitting the soft mattress with a little 'thump'.
"But it's just a light cold. It'll go away in a day."
"Rest."
There was then silence followed by a staring contest and Thoma blinked first, making you the winner of this argument.
He signed with a soft smile, "I really can't win against you. Can I?"
"Don't worry and just relax. I'm actually great at cooking, you know? I'll have something made in no time. Easy peasy."
Usually, Thoma was the one to do all the cooking while you would help him with cutting the vegetables or washing dishes and whatnot. He never let you near a stove after the incident where you accidentally gave poor Ayaka food poisoning when she offered to try one of your dishes.
You almost triggered a national conflict just with a plate of poorly cooked katsudon.
Despite your confidence, Thoma wasn't convinced and gave you a sceptical look, making you turn your head to the side as your cheeks grew warm.
"Fine, just please don't risk someone's health like last time..."
-
A rush of confidence ran through your veins. You were prepared. With a cookbook and all.
So here you were, in the kitchen of your shared home while Thoma was sleeping. Of course, for you to be able to even step in the vicinity of the stove, your significant other had to be unconscious. Out cold. Or else he would be anxiously pacing somewhere else in the house, hoping you didn't set his kitchen on fire.
Sounds of paper flickering filled the room as you looked for a recipe that would help someone with a light cold. A recipe for "simple, foolproof curry" caught your eye. The long list of vegetables and other healthy-sounding ingredients caught your attention rather easily, so you settled for it. You already had all the ingredients that you would need, well, kind of.
The recipe included beef, but you decided to use chicken instead since it was a healthier meat and added it into your cauldron- uh, I mean pot. It said to cook the onions until tender but never specified how, so you settled for boiling them whole. Next was to stir in garlic, ginger and grated apple into a pot. There were no apples in the kitchen so you chose a banana and an orange instead as they were under the same family as apples, in your opinion, and had potassium and vitamin c to help the immune system. The more fruit, the better, right? (this is incorrect. I do not condone this behaviour).
The recipe asked for flour, but you couldn't find where Thoma hid it so you added bread since they were technically the same thing. The last step said to add tomato paste, carrots, potatoes and other vegetables of your choice.
You then covered the pot and let the dish cook.
About an hour later, a toxic smell that you translated to be the delicious smell of your cooking wafted through the air. It seemed to wake Thoma up as a loud thud came from the bedroom as if he fell off the bed.
Opening the pot with a huge grin, you admired your creation.
Bubbles similar to what could be assumed to be from a witch's cauldron rose to the top of the concoction. Dead-looking vegetables and whole onions floated around the surface like dead fish in a lake. The pot screamed despair and bloody murder. Literal green fumes danced around and warped outside of the pot. A strange purple colour was blended in with the natural brown of the curry. Bits of banana and orange looked like they had been through seven archon wars as they seemed to be clawing at the metal of the pot, alive and begging to be let out of the putrid puddle that was your cooking. It deserved to be thrown away by waste control. Buried where no lifeforms could make contact with it. Encased in Liyuen amber for the safety of the public.
"Leave it to me," You said.
"I'm actually great at cooking," You said.
It was all a lie. Everything was a lie.
Thoma walked into the room with a diabolically flabbergasted expression on his face. When he made eye contact with you, he tried to play it off like he was yawning but his sweating and stiff face gave it away.
-
A few days later after Thoma finally got better, he decided to hold a small cooking class for you.
The first thing he would teach you to make was bread.
"The ingredients aren't too complicated and neither are the steps. It just needs a little patience," Thoma reassured you while gently holding both of your hands.
"I'll try my best," You returned, enthusiastic and confident.
Thoma laughed as you sneezed from inhaling flour while you poured some of it on the tabletop.
"Careful," he chucked.
Then, you 'accidentally' let some flour get onto his sleeve.
"Whoops," You replied, sticking your tongue out at him.
"[Name]..." He got closer to you, making your heart act funny.
Suddenly, your cheek was smeared with a layer of flour and you gasped. That sneaky sneaker.
Thoma mimicked you and stuck his tongue out at you, making you laugh at his antics.
After a few more of your shenanigans, you completed the dough and tossed it in the oven. You definitely, surely 100% weren't drooling over Thoma as you watched him mix and kneed the dough. Why would you ever even think that?
Soon, your confidence deflated after your first cooking lesson ended. Your loaf of bread looked dreadful and wrinkly, and even more so when compared to the fluffy goodness that Thoma put together.
You took off your apron with a frustrated sigh, "This really isn't working. I'm sure I did everything right too..."
"Maybe it was just your way of kneading the dough? It's quite difficult to master, especially on your first try," Thoma gently rubbed your back with a gentle smile on his face.
"But you said it was easy," You groaned.
"Then maybe I'm not the best teacher," he stifled a laugh at your pouty expression and puffed out cheeks, "Let's try another recipe tomorrow."
"Okay..."
-
The results were the same the next day, the day after that, and the day after that. Everything you made was diabolical. Sure, you were improving slowly with Thoma's tips but not enough for you to not get irritated at your still present lack of skill.
Thoma was patient with you throughout, cheering you on to the best of his ability and always trying to help you in whatever way he could.
You hoped today would be different. A new and determined glint in your eyes shined brightly as you walked into the kitchen with fire in your step.
"Let's do this. Again"
Thoma decided on a Mondstat staple, Mondstadt Hash Browns. He gave you instructions on what to do while he watched your technique and made sure everything was right.
You added the ingredients in the way that you were instructed, abandoning your own little additions that usually resulted in catastrophies and disaster. The potatoes were the correct texture, the outside was crispy, the broccoli was steamed to perfection, and everything looked great.
Now, all that was left was for your instuctor, Thoma, to sample the dish. You watched in anticipation as he took a section of a hash brown, the crispy outside giving a satisfying 'crunch' upon his bite. He slowly chewed, savouring the flavour as his eyes lit up with surprise.
"It- It tastes amazing!"
"Really?!" You practically squeaked.
"Yeah!" Thoma smiled and handed you a piece to try yourself. He was right. It tasted wonderful.
Your cooking was edible. And it tasted amazing on top of that. You laughed, way happier than you should've been before picking Thoma up by his waist and twirling around the small dining area, causing him to laugh along with you.
To someone on the outside, it would look like the pair of you were getting overexcited over such a little thing, but you were both so proud of your achievement. Maybe you weren't so bad at cooking after all.

whats the tea on kd leaving the warriors? i was a casual fan at the time it happened so i don't know the situation
well... let me be brief (1/278)
lmao jk but.... well a lot! and most of it is speculation, etcetc ofc we'll never truly know until 20 years later when the last dance-esque documentary comes out about the warriors in the steph curry era lmao-- but the story goes like this:
kevin durant was the superstar of okc thunder and was steadily building up the franchise over the years to become serious contenders for a championship. they were always close, but had never quite made it. but with a good FO/org behind him, westbrook by his side, they were always really close— but again, as we all know, it was never enough (made the finals in 2012. lost. would make the playoffs but always got defeated). in 2016, they once again get really close at the western conference finals where they led the series 3-1 against the warriors. despite that they lose. a mere month later, he joins the warriors: a team that's obviously at the beginning of a dynasty— they won a championship in 2015 and made it into the finals in 2016. but more importantly, the team that beat kevin durant and okc thunder at the conference finals.
there were layers to this "betrayal" and to this day people still think this one decision "ruined the sport" (lol). people saw it as a betrayal on KD's part and it took an incredible hit to his reputation. you almost make it to the finals, you have an incredible teammate in westbrook by your side, an org that supports you and is willing to uplift you to your highest star potential, and you leave? to join the team that BEAT you? to the team that has steph curry, klay thompson, draymond green, andre iguodala?
already a hugely successful team without KD, but with him, it was undeniable. a superteam. yeah, a lot of team has duos or trios. lebron and kyrie, lebron and dwade, harden and cp3, etcetc. but this team was different levels. a whole team full. the team was 73-9 without KD. massively talented already. but now? steph, KD, klay as offensive threats. draymond and andre as defensive threats. insanely good roleplayers like shaun livingston.
everyone was livid. not just OKC fans. everyone in the league! the warriors, and KD's name specifically was tarnished. how disrespectful for the warriors to even think about creating a team like this. how disrespectful for KD to leave an org that's done so much for him. sports media was tearing into them, fans were tearing into them, they were quite literally, the most hated north american sports team. fans were burning jerseys, making videos threatening KD, etc.
we all know how KD with the warriors went. winning fixes all, right? arguably the most dominant team in nba history (2017 warriors vs 1996 bulls a common debate to this day), the warriors absolutely dominated the nba, and went on to win the 2017 and 2018 championships. KD finally gets his two rings and a FMVP. and the warriors still stay the most hated team in the league. you either loved the warriors or hated them! no in between. the narrative is that KD's rings were called into question because he "had a superteam" so they weren't "valid".
2018-2019 is when it all kinda starts falling apart. the warriors are plagued with injuries, and it's just clear they don't have the synergy and chemistry that they did before. it was most clear during a game against the clippers where draymond and kd visibly fought after a bad play at the end where draymond refused to pass to kd. draymond had allegedly yelled at kd and told him to just leave the warriors, and that they didn't need him (kd's contract was up that year as well). KD has said in later years that that argument was kind of like the ~last straw for him and the nail in the coffin for him leaving. he had already been having feelings of being "the odd man out"— though they were winning together and had good synergy on court, the core3 plus the other players were already a tight knit family long before he had arrived. after the incident with draymond, the team never really sat down and talked about it: just brushed it under the rug (dray was suspended for one game but nothing was talked about). KD felt like it was a slap in the face, all this stuff about how gsw is known for good team chemistry and good culture but they just wanted to brush that very public incident under the rug? after that he started playing more selfishly— less like how they would play as a team and more in isolation. KD gets injured during the finals, and as we know, klay gets injured as well: we lose the finals. we don't get the sought after three-peat. KD signs with the brooklyn nets and the rest is history.
i talked a lot about the beginning of KD signing on to the warriors because i feel like that was really the root of why he left. he became one of the most hated players in north american sports. his own fans tore into him. sports media all tore into him. calling him mentally weak, pathetic, etc. and does winning fix all? i feel like KD with the warriors was proof that... it doesn't. KD gets two rings that he basically sold his soul to the devil for AND two FMVPs and people still don't respect him. on top of that he wins it with the warriors: which has always been and will always be Steph Curry's Team. yeah he was integral to those wins, but you can't compete with how steph has built the dynasty, yk? what steph has given to the warriors.
so at the end of the day, the story goes like this: KD "betrays" okc by going to the team who beat him in the conference finals, creates the first real "superteam" in the nba (the superteam discourse is a whole other thing smh like teams aren't trying to do that now but i digress). the whole sports world is going in on him, he's basically sold his soul for these rings. he gets his rings, he gets his FMVP. but his legacy and reputation is still called into question: he's integral but still won his rings and his FMVPs on STEPH CURRYs team, not his. Steph's. on top of all the outside noise, internally he's not happy either. he doesn't feel protected within the team. he has beef with draymond, and steph/klay + the franchise will clearly always have their loyalty to draymond. he doesn't buy into the team culture anymore, and he feels like the odd one out. the only thing that could make him stay would be to keep winning more rings. but the two rings he has didn't fix anything. so why stay? what does he have going for him?
(he goes on to bounce between different teams, tries to build his own superteams but never comes as close as he did. meanwhile steph klay and draymond go through a tough two years, considerably the lowest two years in the steph/core3 era, and come out on top: they win the '22 finals, against a celtics team that had an 84% chance of winning the finals. they save their dynasty, their legacy. steph proves that he won a chip BEFORE KD, during KD, and AFTER KD as well.)

So... I remembered my scrapped Galar fic story.
Just to let you know, please do not expect anything to come of this, this is just an incomplete framework for a scrapped story. And nothing more.
a variation of these events occurred in the pasio fic, which release has been delayed, but will be here shortly, I promise.
things of note: the twist initially was going to be that Rose was Ash's dad, which I changed because Peony is more fun. Also, the story was going to reveal that 2 years had passed since Ash left pallet town, hence all the hints towards it, and Ash just forgets his birthdays.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
What if Ash got a genuine Galar journey, without ‘hey remember this?’
Galar, and like in every pokemon anime timeframe is non-specific (for now heh heh heh)
Main characters
Ash - 10(?) years old, similar to how ash is in the X & Y anime, not immature but still young, has lots of experience (Spoilers: About 2 years worth), and is willing to pass it on to others.
Gloria - 12 years old, forced by her overbearing mother to wait a couple of years before she can start her journey, so naturally, she's very passionate about the sport, starts out iris/misty-like before character evolution hits and becomes the in-between of Serena/dawn and iris/misty character types
Hop Dande - 10 years old, young, and very similar to Ash when he started, but even more headstrong if you would believe it, he let being the champion’s little bro go to his head and thus thought he was champion material himself. Leaves at some point to truly learn how to battle and makes his return during the Galar conference.
Allister Nion - replaces Hop after he leaves, his arc is just to build confidence in himself.
Secondary characters
Marnie Nezu - ash’s rival (14) is pretty much the same in-game, the only difference is she and Gloria were once friends.
Bede - Gary but worse, belittles Ash any chance he gets
Leon Dande - is less stupid than his in-game counterpart, and is quite similar to Ash.
Sonia Magnolia - introduces him to Gloria and hop
Prof. Magnolia - a wise old lady that gives our heroes their starters.
Rose Patak - is near 1 to 1 but seems like he’s hiding something.
Oleanna Olive - fakes being motherly but is very very rude and angry underneath
Team Yell - is just a bunch of street punks that interfere with anyone they perceive as a threat to Marnie.
Gym leaders
Milo Yarrow - the stereotypical kind farmer’s boy
Nessa Ruina - ash’s cool big sis in a metaphorical sense
Kabu Hibana - gives ash a mentorship program (tony stark peter parker-esque)
Bea Saito - antisocial but very kind also being mentored by Kabu (might become ash’s companion during the isle of armor)
Opal Poplar - kind old lady who mentors bede (being his reminder to be kind)
Melony Makuwa - kind and motherly off-field, an ice-cold battler on the field.
Gordie Makuwa - overconfident almost to a fault and really rude sometimes.
Piers Nezu - snarky but somewhat kind, and very protective over Marnie, but still her brother.
Raihan Kibana - I can't put his personality into words but he live-streams his fights.
Ash lands in Galar and is introduced to Sonia and Leon
Sonia then takes ash to Professor Magnolia to get his starter and he meets Gloria and Hop
Leon then takes him to Motostoke to announce the start of Galar’s gym challenge
Our heroes go to budew inn and meet Marnie.
Battle against some team yell grunts.
Our heroes than just hang out and bond
Milo gym fight: ash wins, Gloria wins, and hop needs a rematch.
After hop’s rematch milo teaches ash how to cook curry.
Gloria and Ash get into an argument over methods of travel.
Team Rocket gets the focus in this chapter James catches a galarian Weezing and Jessie catches a sandaconda
Hulbury but Nessa’s gym is closed.
As it turns out Nessa's prized Drednaw is very, very sick. Which ash cures with some herbs.
Nessa Gym Battle: Ash wins, Hop wins, Gloria rematch.
Gloria catches a Yamper.
Gloria's rematch.
Our heroes then go to motostoke
Before any of them fight Kabu the first team rocket clash happens
It's a near standstill, but team rocket blasts off due to Gloria’s Yamper and Ash’s Pikachu.
Kabu introduces himself to Ash and the two have a “Queens. Brooklyn.” moment
Grooky evolves into Thwackey during Kabu’s fight.
And ash loses but he’s not upset given both Thwackey has evolved and that Kabu is really respectful to him.
Ash goes and trains with Kabu and the two bond a lot.
Ash accidentally calls him dad and kabu is kinda flattered.
Rematch!
And a great surprise occurs Pikachu can Gigantamax!
Everyone looks on in aww.
Ash wins and Kabu gives him the most dad-esque interaction ever.
“That was some real fighting, ash, great job!”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd like everyone to note that this was my very first time ever framing a story.

Here's your curry!
- severs her a mystery food x curry using the same ingredients that Chie used back at the camping trip -
Now enjoy ~☆!
"It's about damn time you showed up with that curry!" All the heckling centered around her abysmal cooking habits and the 'traumatic experiences' caused by a single night of so-called 'deadly decision making' worked up the brunette into a state of boiling fury. At the end of the day, it was a loaded plate of cooked food. Something made in a generous attempt at appeasing her own friends' hunger, on top of building more of a solid bond between them.
Plus, didn't the boys leave the cooking up to the girls, anyway? They should have the blame shoved onto their shoulders instead since their assumptions regarding the girls’ cooking expertise were so high.
Tumblr media
"I will, kind stranger! Now I'll SHOW you guys this food isn't as bad as everyone cries about!" The color...looked suspicious. Did the sauce always have a tint of purple and green mixed in with the brown broth? And didn't they cut the potatoes in half last time? No, doubts and uncertainties wouldn't win her the argument. Chew it, swallow, take another spoonful, and repeat the cycle.
So she did! Several times, actually, until half the plate disappeared into the brunette's stomach. Each intake felt like a large brick fell from extreme heights, splashing into a vat of acid. Slowly...and painstakingly dissolving until it disappeared. Something gurgled, then something moaned in displeasure. Internally, the battle for digestion just began.
Externally, on the other hand-
Tumblr media
"..y-you see? It's...not as baaaaaad as everyone makes it...to be..." Chie believed in her stomach! It was built by, molded by, and trained for occasions just like this! It wouldn't be lying if she said it did pass through without her collapsing, or excusing herself to the nearest bathroom. No porcelain heaven here! "You guys are just...j-jerks for saying Yukiko and I did a horrible job..."
Stay strong, Chie! Do it for you and Yukiko!

i'm looking for some fic recs where charles is a human and erik is cold/cruel to him because of his mutant supremacy ideology; i think you might have made a fic rec list for this topic before but i can't seem to find it! if there's a link, that would be lovely :D ty and have a great day!
Thanks for your patience, Anon! Here's a list of fics with human!Charles and mutant!Erik as requested. You asked for stories with Erik being cold/cruel so I've left off fics that were more cracky/humorous FYI :D
Let Them Talk by manic_intent
Written as an Option A (Logan Wins) follow-up to the first anon fic for the kmeme prompt: "There are stories where Charles is Erik’s sub and they are both happy, but what about some more angsty theme? AU where mutants and humans live together but mutants think themselves more important and often treat humans like dirt. Sub/Dom pairs are created by imprinting. Mutants generally imprint on mutants and Erik who is the most powerful among them thinks that he will have equally powerful sub. Turns out that he imprints on Charles – a brilliant yet entirely human Professor. Cue Erik being disgusted and angry with his Sub, which Charles takes really hard. Erik is ashamed of him, and doesn’t want him to associate with other mutants, but slowly Charles charms his way to the hearts of everyone and one day another mutant (Logan pretty please?) challenges Erik’s claim over Xavier."
Imprint – PoorMedea
Inspired by, but not actually a fill for, this prompt: Charles/Erik Unwanted sub: There are stories where Charles is Erik’s sub and they are both happy, but what about some more angsty theme? AU where mutants and humans live together but mutants think themselves more important and often treat humans like dirt. Sub/Dom pairs are created by imprinting. Mutants generally imprint on mutants and Erik who is the most powerful among them thinks that he will have equally powerful sub. Turns out that he imprints on Charles – a brilliant yet entirely human Professor.
The moment of imprinting: overpowering, irresistible, and most importantly, uncontrollable. As Charles and Erik are about to find out.
Everyday Love in Stockholm – tahariel
Prompt: Magneto is the ruler of the posthuman world. His only secret? Charles Xavier, the human he’s kept locked in his bedroom ever since his right-hand woman, Mystique, came to him pleading for mercy for her stepbrother, who accepted her mutant form and protected her as a child. The human he started fucking after Mystique was killed in battle, despite the guilt he feels at contaminating even this last promise to the woman who was integral to his life’s work and happiness.
Spätzünder–  InsertSthMeaningful
Erik doesn’t like Charles Xavier. Not one bit. Not his impeccable mannerisms, not his spotless clothes, not his winning smile. Or how the human likes to curry favor with literally every mutant or other member of oppressed minorities he encounters.
Still, there is something about his fellow college student that intrigues Erik. Makes him want to push the boy, tear down his arguments, and, just to shut him up, kiss his cherry red-
Oh.
Maybe falling for a human isn’t that bad. Certainly worth a try. Especially since Xavier doesn’t seem to be averse to the idea himself. But months later, things change. Or rather, a certain someone does. And nothing is ever going to be the same.
A Bit of Fun by Anon on the kinkmeme Charles is Erik’s forever - the man he wants to spend the rest of his life with and can’t imagine his future without. So why is he saying that Charles is nothing more that his temporary bit of fun? (Hint: Modern!AU with Mutant!Erik and Human!Charles.)
Fallen Days by rosesinthedark (WIP)
Erik is a King and a mutant and isn't happy when he has to marry Charles, a Prince and a human. Charles is ignored for much of the time until he becomes pregnant and therefore obviously not human. Erik then changes his attitude towards him drastically, but Charles keeps conversation between them guarded, making Erik realise how cruel his behaviour had been.

If you’d like to be a part of this OC’s work/edits, let me know!
Tumblr media
Seren sat on her couch, wrapped up in a blanket. The television was on but she wasn't really paying attention to whatever antic Leslie Knope was up to tonight. She was tired and yet not the type of 'tired' she would typically feel after a shift at S.H.I.E.L.D. It was mental exhaustion.
She had gotten back from her parents' earlier that day, dropping her grandmother off at her own apartment before reaching hers. As hard as she tried to have a civil few days with her family, it wouldn't last very long. Arguments would come up at any moment and even when Seren tried ending them, they always came back. The worst part of it was that she was taking in everything being said, whether good or bad. It was all stuck in her mind now and it wouldn't leave her alone.
Maybe she should just turn in early or something. Her bed had to be more comfortable than the couch. Just as she was about to get up, there was a knock on the door.
She let her blanket drop to the couch and went to answer the door. She may have blinked more awake when she found Steve waiting on the other side. He was dressed rather nicely in dark pants, a buttoned-down white shirt and that tan leather jacket he seemed to like so much.
He was smiling until he noticed her appearance and, most prominently, her face. "Are you alright?"
"Uh, sort of...please don't be offended but is there something you needed?"
Her question stumped him. "What? You...you said we were getting curry tonight, remember?"
Oh God she did remember...now. "Oh my goodness," she brought a hand up to her forehead, bunching up some of her hair in the process. "Friday, seven o'clock. I'm so sorry! I wouldn't - I wouldn't ever forget this on purpose!"
"I know that, don't worry," Steve's hands went back and forth as he decided whether or not to touch her. She was just looking so guilty with what seemed like an honest mistake. "We could...we could do it another time."
Seren looked, and felt, like a mess. "I'm so sorry, Steve. I didn't mean to forget, I've just...it's been a hard few days."
Steve could only assume why those days had been 'hard'. "Your family." He watched Seren nod grimly. He was afraid that her problems with her family wouldn't get better for her, and he was sadly right. That's why he made sure to be right on time to take her to that nice little restaurant for a few hours where he could lift her spirits. But she hadn't even remembered their plans, only confirming that it was even worse than he thought.
Seren left the door open for him to come in as she turned to head back to the living room. "My head's not in the right place right now. It's no excuse but I just can't pull myself together, you know. I would never purposely forget a plan I make. Whatever plans I make, I keep them, I swear."
"I know that," Steve assured her as he shut the door behind him. "Don't feel bad about this, please. If you'd like, only if you'd like, you could talk to me about it. Or-or Chloe," he added at the last minute after she gave him a certain look. He panicked at the idea of overstepping with her.
"I don't want to waste your time with nonsense," she ultimately said as she plopped down on the couch. "You're dressed all nice for a time out. Maybe you should go out. I'm sure you'll meet someone."
"Yeah, that wouldn't be so easy considering my talking skills aren't the best," he shrugged with such a look on his face that it made Seren smile out of amusement. He would take that as a win. "Besides, I'd rather help my friend out right now. She seems a little upset."
"I don't know what I am, to be honest," Seren sighed. She grabbed her blanket off the couch and started folding it over her lap. "I don't know if I'm angry, sad, or just plain upset. I'm leaning towards 'lost'."
"Now why would you say that?" Steve came to the couch and sat down beside her.
"Because for once I actually had a good talk with my Dad. He told me he was proud of me and that he didn't care if I was a quarter freak of an alien. But then he went off and argued with my grandmother anyways. Then I got to talk to my Mom and she said that I had lost any chance of living a normal life because I work for S.H.I.E.L.D. and then she went off to argue with my grandmother. The talk with my grandmother was no better. She basically said that she regretted bringing me to S.H.I.E.L.D. in the first place. She took my options away, apparently. Then she argued with my parents." Seren shoved her blanket to the floor after she finished folding it. She was breathing rather heavily now. Maybe she was leaning towards 'angry' right now. "They're all so sure that I lost my 'options' and that I'm not the best version of myself. I don't get how that came out of their mouths after they each told me how proud they were of me!"
There were no words that came to Steve at that moment. It was hard enough watching Seren be that upset, that hurt because of her family and it was frustrating that he didn't have the right words for her. He didn't know why, but he reached down to pick up the blanket that she had thrown to the floor instead.
It was a beautiful navy blue blanket that seemed hand-made. There were colorful twinkling stars on top, forming a sky. On the bottom was a bright purple plain field with only one little girl who's back faced the viewer. She had brunette hair fashioned into pig-tails.
"Did someone make this for you?" Steve found himself asking suddenly. He winced realizing this wasn't the time to be asking that when Seren had just told him her problems. Before he could apologize, Seren answered him.
"My grandmother knitted it," she reached out to touch it, gently running a hand down it. It brought a smile to her again so Steve dared to think that his mistake hadn't been all that wrong in the end. "That's me," she touched the figure of the little girl on the bottom.
"What? Really?" Steve blinked and quickly examined the little girl again. There was no face as she was looking up to the 'sky of stars' but it didn't really look like her. "Your hair's different," he noted the more gold color of the girl. Seren chuckled. Yes, another win!
"It's my natural hair color."
Steve did a double-take at her, earning a third laugh from her. "Really?"
Seren nodded, slowly coming out of her laugh. "Yes. This—" she gestured to her current shortened ginger hair, "—didn't happen until I turned 18. That's when my mother couldn't really tell me anything anymore. I'll have to show you pictures of the other me."
"Yeah," Steve had a hard time picturing her as anything else than a ginger but he was sure that she still probably looked pretty. When his face warmed, he put that thought away and focused on the blanket. It had raised Seren's mood a bit so he had to go with that right now. "Your grandmother did a good job with this."
"Mm, she said it's what a Celessian night looks like," Seren followed his game without knowing it. She passed a hand across the starry sky. "She said you could see all the different colors of the stars each night. I may not have been able to go then but she said that Celessia was always going to be a part of me. Being part of Celessia didn't make me any less of a human, it just gave me something else to love about myself."
"And I bet that even now, when things are so difficult, she still means that."
"I wish it was enough to make them all happy again. But the truth is my family hasn't been at peace in a very long time. I doubt we'll ever be again."
"C'mon Seren, you can't let their arguments bring you down."
"It's hard not to when they're all about you! It's my fault they're arguing and knowing that my grandmother regrets bringing me to S.H.I.E.L.D. leaves me feeling kind of lost! If I hadn't been brought into S.H.I.E.L.D., what the hell would I do with my life? It's the only thing I know."
"And therein lies the problem," Steve said to her. However badly it would make him feel it had to be said.
The pain that crossed her face hurt him more than he thought it would. "What?"
With a sigh, Steve put down the blanket on his other side. "Seren, I think I understand what your family is so upset about. They are proud of you but at the same time they're aware that your life could've been very different had your grandmother not brought you to S.H.I.E.L.D. as a child. You grew up with specific feelings towards it that, if you hadn't gone into it, you wouldn't have had at all. You said you grew up training specifically for the Initiative, right?"
Seren nodded. "Yeah…"
"Well, had you not been training for S.H.I.E.L.D., you could've done other things that maybe would've brought you down a different path. Who knows, you might have loved that path too."
"But then I would have never met people I know and care for today. I wouldn't have met Natasha, Chloe...you," she met his gaze with pink cheeks. "And you might not believe me but I just know that I would've ended up at S.H.I.E.L.D. anyways. I like what I do, I like knowing that I'm keeping people safe. I'm fighting for them, for those who can't."
"I understand that," Steve told her. "It was the same for me back then. I tried enlisting in the war 4 times."
"I know, I read your file," Seren sheepishly smiled at him. "You're persistent, I'll give you that. But I respect that. You felt like you had a duty."
"I wanted to keep people safe."
"I want to do that too. And hearing my grandmother basically say that I shouldn't have been with S.H.I.E.L.D. really hurts," she leaned her back against the couch. "It's like I didn't just show them that I'm where I belong."
"I don't think that was her intention," Steve brought the blanket over her. "I think — I see—" he patted the blanket, "—that she loves you a lot. She's just guilty that she may have unintentionally hurt you."
Seren brought the blanket closer to her. "You think so?"
"Yeah," Steve nodded at her. He was relieved to see her smiling like she truly believed what he said was true. For never having these sorts of talks with women, he dared to think that he did pretty good this first time.
"Thanks," Seren sighed. "I'm sorry that I forgot about curry night."
"Ah, don't worry about it. We can do it some other time. I prefer making sure you're okay."
"Mission accomplished," she saluted him, making him chuckle. "But hey, how would you feel about ordering that curry for delivery instead?"
"I would be just fine with that."
Seren beamed. "Ah, thanks lovey! I'll go make that call!" She jumped from the couch, dropping her blanket in the process, and dashed to retrieve her phone. She left it in her duffel bag in her room (she hadn't bothered to unpack earlier).
Steve was left with a flushed face. Lovey. It was the second time Seren called him that and each time it left him with the same fuzzy feeling. It was a good fuzzy type of feeling but it was also kind of scary. He noticed recently that there had been various moments where he would feel different around Seren. Sometimes it wasn't even because of something she said - unlike right now - but just something that happened. Sometimes he just found himself drawn to her. He kept thinking about their battle in New York and the moment after the bomb had thrown him out of the bank.
"Hey, hey, look at me," she instructed him, "Just—just look at me. I'm here.  You're okay. Breathe with me, okay? Just breathe with me for a moment."
Steve nodded silently, shakily, incapable of forming words in that moment. He looked straight at her, focusing on his breathing and just...her. Her eyes. He needed to lock onto something that wasn't tainted with blood and death. Her eyes were a soft green and he was just noticing now that her irises had a subtle colorful glimmer to them.
Little by little, Steve felt the heaviness in his chest begin to loosen up. He was breathing again, seeing, and hearing without the overloading part. He felt Seren's fingers tenderly resting on his face, waiting for him to give her a sign that he was alright.
Seren had basically stopped the world around them just it make sure he was okay. The fact she did make it better for him in the midst of an alien battle spoke volumes of her talent and power she had over him. It was alarming to Steve when he first realized it. Why did she have that power? When did she get that power?
When Seren went into that portal, Steve literally felt his entire body stop. His heart didn't beat until he saw her body come out of the portal. He could play dumb and say it was concern, a concern that he also felt for Tony who went through the same portal with the same risks...but then he would be lying. And he didn't like lying.
There was something else going on and the truth is that he wasn't sure what it was...but it felt good. It was familiar too and he knew exactly why: Peggy. Things with Peggy never really developed - some ice got in the way - but the early days had him walking with an odd smile on his face. When things got tough, and they certainly did, he always felt good around Peggy.
It was happening again. It wasn't exactly the same thing which was something else he was experiencing for the first time.
Seren wasn't like Peggy at all, in biological terms and personality wise. Seren was devoted to her job but when it came to him she put all of it aside in order to help him in the best way she could. She had said it from the start. She wasn't Agent Soul, she was Seren. And he supposed with Peggy, he knew Agent Peggy Carter. He knew her at camp, at the base, in the field, etc. Time had not allowed him to know her beyond that scope.
But today (not today, today, but in this world), he knew Seren Soul first — 'Agent Soul' and 'Stardust' came after and would always remain second in Steve's mind. Seren Soul was reserved until the moment called for the opposite. She was graceful, even though she didn't really notice it, and she carried herself with an undeniable authority. She was Seren Soul who had, by far, the prettiest name he ever heard, the best laugh that almost always came with a crinkle of her nose and beyond that she was also so sweet, kind, gentle — wonderful. She was really, really wonderful.
Knowing he had a curry night with Seren had him smiling all day today. It was a mundane day but knowing that he would see Seren today gave him the spark he needed to get through the day. All of this could be ridiculous, who knew, but he really liked it.
God it was these moments where he wished that he still had Bucky around. Bucky would definitely have some words for him right now. Steve knew he was useless around women - he never had any experience except for some painstakingly few moments he shared with Peggy - and right now he felt like he really needed it.
"Did it," Seren re-emerged from the hallway with her cellphone in hand.
Steve subtly flinched in his spot, all of a sudden his thoughts were running at light speed and leaving behind a new level of warmth over his face. He was lucky that Seren was too focused on the delivery to notice.
"It's a busy night so it'll be about an hour until they can get it here, sorry." She came back to her seat, dropping beside him. She put her legs up on one side and draped her blanket over them. "I promise you that the next time we have Curry I will not look like this," she gestured to her current appearance. Her faded gray t-shirt and black leggings were nothing of the sort she would wear on a nice evening.
Steve just smiled at her. She was worried when she actually looked perfectly nice. "You're just fine, Seren."
"Mm, that's still up in the air," she waved a finger in the air. She leaned her side against the couch and had the energy to laugh about it.
Steve would take that as a good sign. With time, she'd be herself again.

"Hey, how was the family?" Natasha asked when Seren walked into the training room. Before Seren even answered with her 'Ugh', her scrunched face had told Natasha everything she needed to know. The redhead laughed. "Should've stayed with me then. I kicked corrupted ass two days ago."
Seren put her things down on the bench. She grabbed a bobby-pin to clip away her fringe. "You did? Sounds like a good day for Black Widow."
"Could've been a good day for both of us is what I'm hearing," Natasha went over for two staffs lying on an opposite bench. "Here," she tossed one over to Seren. "I tried this with Winters and she fell on her ass."
Seren rolled her eyes. "I can see how that went. But you know that I'm not all that better with staffs myself."
"Did I forget that?" Natasha's face was scary straight when she got into a fighting stance.
"You're terrible," Seren drew in a breath and prepared herself for the sparring.
"Not as much as your family, I hear." Natasha took Seren's shock as the perfect opportunity to swipe the staff across her legs and send her to the floor. Seren landed with a thud and looked up to find Natasha pointing her staff at her chest. "And now you're dead."
"Your people skills are amazing, have I ever told you that?" Seren pushed the staff aside and pulled herself up.
"C'mon Soul," Natasha nodded for her to pick her staff from the floor. "I'm trying to distract you. Knowing you, you probably spent the entire weekend moping around."
"I did...not!" Seren swiped her staff off the ground and attempted quite a sloppy attack on Natasha. The redhead swiftly spun to the side and smacked her staff against Seren's back, throwing the Celessian facefirst to the floor.
"And you're still distracted," Natasha blew the strands on her face. "Gotta say, this isn't very much fun."
Seren rolled to lay on her back and heaved a heavy sigh. "You think?"
Natasha rolled her eyes and offered Seren a hand.
"Ooh, did she hit you with that thing too?" asked a new voice when Seren had gotten up. Chloe had come in and immediately made a face at the staff Natasha was holding. "She hits hard."
Natasha sent a knowing smile at Seren, apparently quite proud of herself. "Not my fault you have twinkle toes."
Chloe huffed. "Am not."
"Your fighting style says otherwise."
A second huff slipped through Chloe's lips. "I used to be a gymnast when I was younger so I transferred that into my fighting. Not everyone can be a Black Widow."
Natasha's lips curled into a smirk. "No they cannot be."
"Ladies." Seren sighed and snatched Natasha's staff from her in case either woman got any ideas.
"Is she still moping?" Chloe jerked a thumb in Seren's direction when the Celessian went to return the staffs to their proper place.
"Oh yeah," Natasha made a face, nodding her head. "Not much of a spar if the opponent isn't even trying."
"I swear, I thought Steve hanging out with you all weekend would cheer you up!"
Natasha's eyebrows raised together just as Seren turned around. "Oooh, golden boy is at your beck and call now?"
Seren was now glaring at Chloe. "Seriously, thanks."
"I didn't say anything," Chloe raised her hands in defense. "But I am going to throw out the fact I heard that he's joining us."
"That's great," Seren said wholeheartedly then moved towards her duffel bag. "But I fail to see why you insist on poking fun where there's nothing to poke at." Chloe and Natasha exchanged knowing looks behind Seren's back. Seren slung her bag over her shoulder and looked back at them. "Maybe I wasn't ready to come back yet."
"Wait Seren," Natasha called, sighing. "Alright, why don't try training again without the jokes or comments - no golden boy mentions nor family mentions." Seren lifted an eyebrow at the pair, not quite convinced. "As a sign of good faith, I'll go bring us some of that coffee you seem to love so much. Tastes like crap but…" She pulled a smile from Seren.
"It's not crap…"
"Yes it is, and I will be right back," Natasha promised and hurried out.
"Make that 2 please!" called Chloe.
"Maybe a juice box instead!" Natasha smirked from the doorway before disappearing.
Chloe groaned. "That's not funny!" She and Seren heard Natasha's laughter carrying into the room. "She's insufferable."
Seren playfully rolled her eyes. She went to grab her water bottle from her bag. "She says the same about you."
"Whatever, I'm only going to be here for a few more days and then I'm off."
Seren stopped her water bottle midway when she heard the news. "Already?"
"Yeah, I think I'm going to Belgium or something. I haven't looked into the mission file yet."
"But you've been here like, what, 2 weeks maybe?"
"Mhm, and by the end of the week I'll be somewhere else. You know how it goes."
Seren stared at Chloe for a while. Whether she wanted it or not, Stark's words were coming back to her. Before she knew it, she was talking again. "Hey Chloe, um, Tony was mentioning something weird about your file."
"Oh, you mean when hacked into the system?"
"Mhm, well, turns out - and this is beyond weird - that your file is basically nonexistent."
"...nonexistent?" Chloe made a face. "What do you mean?"
"Like...there's nothing to show that you've been working for S.H.I.E.L.D. for 6 years."
"That's got to be a mistake," Chloe waved the ginger off. "It's probably some defence the system enacted when it detected Tony's hack."
"Right, it could be…" Seren said slowly. It could be a reasonable explanation for it but it was still pretty weird. "But then why would it only protect your file and not, say, mine? Or Natasha's?"
"I dunno," shrugged Chloe. "Maybe I just got lucky. Why are you even worried about this, Seren? Who cares what Stark said - I am choosing to forget whatever he said to me during the battle. I don't know if you've noticed but he's kind of annoying."
"Who's annoying?" Natasha returned holding two coffees in her hands.
"Stark," Chloe said and suddenly Natasha was rolling her eyes. "Ha! See! Even Natasha agrees!"
Natasha handed one coffee to Seren and just as Chloe was about to reach for the second one, Natasha brought it to her lips. "Sorry, they were out of juice boxes."
Chloe huffed. "Stop doing that!" She stomped her way out of the room, muttering about how immature Natasha was, to which the redhead called 'you would know'.
"You really have to stop bickering so much," Seren told her when it was just them again.
"But then were would I find some fun?" Natasha asked and started bobbing her head as an answer came to her. "Well, I heard golden boy's pretty awkward so I guess I can do that too."
"You are simply terrible," Seren shook her head.
Natasha motioned to the coffee in Seren's hands. "I bought you coffee. Doesn't that buy me points?"
Seren rolled her eyes. "Terrible. Absolutely terrible."

Hello!! I was wondering if you know of any human Charles x mutant Erik fics? That you!!
Hi anon, thanks for your ask. There are several Human Charles x Mutant Erik fics out there. I hope you enjoy this list
Human Charles x Mutant Erik Fics
Everyday Love in Stockholm – tahariel
Summary: Magneto is the ruler of the posthuman world. His only secret? Charles Xavier, the human he's kept locked in his bedroom ever since his right-hand woman, Mystique, came to him pleading for mercy for her stepbrother, who accepted her mutant form and protected her as a child. The human he started fucking after Mystique was killed in battle, despite the guilt he feels at contaminating even this last promise to the woman who was integral to his life's work and happiness.
Humane Society – smilebackwards
Summary: Once Erik finally allows himself to decide that Charles is pretty much the best thing since sliced bread, he spends the next week being incredibly bitter that he's Charles' cat and not his boyfriend.
Hip to Be Square – seutedeern
Summary: The year is 1985. Humans and mutants have lived together for a hundred years and now co-exist peacefully.
That is, outside of high school. Charles Xavier happens to be an ordinary human being, but that's not the worst of his troubles. He's a true geek, with so few friends he could count them on two fingers, and he also happens to be the school's favourite victim.
Erik has always looked down upon humans without any powers, thinking he is superior to them.
Naturally, he's not pleased at all when for some unknown reason, Charles latches onto him after only one lesson of group work as though they were the best of friends.
Spätzünder – InsertSthMeaningful
Summary: Erik doesn’t like Charles Xavier. Not one bit. Not his impeccable mannerisms, not his spotless clothes, not his winning smile. Or how the human likes to curry favor with literally every mutant or other member of oppressed minorities he encounters.
Still, there is something about his fellow college student that intrigues Erik. Makes him want to push the boy, tear down his arguments, and, just to shut him up, kiss his cherry red-
Oh….Maybe falling for a human isn’t that bad. Certainly worth a try. Especially since Xavier doesn’t seem to be averse to the idea himself.
But months later, things change. Or rather, a certain someone does. And nothing is ever going to be the same.
Late Bloomer – so_shhy
Summary: Erik is a mutant jock with ISSUES. Charles is a geeky transfer student and totally human... (or is he?)
Imprint – PoorMedea
Summary: Charles/Erik Unwanted sub: There are stories where Charles is Erik’s sub and they are both happy, but what about some more angsty theme? AU where mutants and humans live together but mutants think themselves more important and often treat humans like dirt. Sub/Dom pairs are created by imprinting. Mutants generally imprint on mutants and Erik who is the most powerful among them thinks that he will have equally powerful sub. Turns out that he imprints on Charles – a brilliant yet entirely human Professor.
Flawed timing – orphan_account
Summary: Charles has been living his life as a baseline, unbonded man for years. He didn’t need a soulmate or a mutation. However, an unexpected encounter forces him to recall and confront his painful past, in more ways than one.
Note: Unfinished
A Quiet Night in Hell – Fantine_Black
Summary: It's like Herr Doktor - King Shaw! - has always said: they are children of the atom, and the nuclear holocaust only made them stronger. Some humans survive, true, some even fight back, but soon they, too, will be conquered.
In the meantime, as Shaw's best lieutenant, Erik enjoys his privileges - and his lovely human slave, named Charles.
in time to change your mind – dizzy faced
Summary: It took a bit of nudging from Raven, who had told Magneto that her brother is not like other humans, he’s totally different and he is so so kind, and Erik come on—he could clean the base for us?And Charles had said, oh yes, in fact I could cook and do everyone’s laundry, please let me stay with my sister? And Magneto, who could not have been any older than twenty-one at that time, had considered what a hassle it was to clean after a bunch of mutants, and said: Yes, sure. He can stay.(Or: how a mutant falls in love with his human housekeeper.)
Kingdom Come – orphan_account
Summary: At the age of 16, Charles departs for Genosha to become the King's bed boy.
Love Sprouts and Grows – Rangerskirt
Summary: After fleeing America back to Poland Erik starts drinking himself away. One evening he meets a young human named Charles who offers to let him crash on his couch. In the morning he discovers Charles had a young baby daughter and is in need of quite a bit of help taking care of her, enter the great Magneto to become part-time babysitter and housekeeper while simultaneously trying to distance himself from falling in love with both the baby girl and her father.
-----
Or the one where Charles and Magda switch places from the movie-verse. Charles is a young and recently single father of Nina who by chance meets Magneto and is too desperate for help to care about his past. At first he just thinks it will help to have a mutant around to help him figure out his daughter, but love seems to worm its way between them.

Can I give my two cents on Yoshizawa? Coming from someone that just finished Royal and also likes Aigis and Rise (and can understand why people hate her as well, it takes time to warm up to her). Sorry, english isn't my first language. This isn't also a hate message, just giving my honest opinion.
As someone who always struggled with depression and self steem issues, I really liked Sumire's portrayal and her wishing to be another person (in this case, her "better" twin).
I'll first adress the points in which I agree with you. First, her clothes. You're right, she shouldn't wear black clothes. I think, as she had her true awekening, her clothes could change and have similar colors as her third awakening.
Ok, back to the arguments. I shall tackle them in order.
The only time she helps Joker in the real world is to get him out of jail. - I could say the same about the other confidants. Only Ryuji stuck up to him against Kamoshida, and Shido on the elevator scene (and you can also defend him back if you have enough guts).
Her appearances never feel normal. - I played Vanilla before, so I knew whenever a new scene was popping up with Sumire, Akechi and Maruki. Maybe you think they're shoehorned because you already know she's a new character? Like, that feeling that "oh she wasn't here before".
Overly attached to Joker. - Think about it this way. She just lost her sister (in her mind, Kasumi lost Sumire). And while she behaved as Kasumi, everyone knew who she really was. Talking to her was awkward and like walking on eggshells. Joker, because he didn't know about this situation, he acted normal around her and even helped with her depressive episodes. So, she respected him. Sometimes we need this person to remind us that it's okay to have doubts but we can't let them win. But you said it, she ACTS like a extroverted socialite. She isn't one.
The thieves love her and she ignores them. - Hm... no? She respects all of them equally, specially Futaba and Mona. I do think she least interacted with Yusuke and Ann, but she and Ryuji did talk as well (but well it's Ryuji).
She does not contribute to the plot until the 3rd semester. - She was busy trainning and going on competitions. There's even a whole week she isn't around because of it. That's the same reason she doesn't join the Thieves at first. She's busy. Simple as that. Just like Akechi joined you because of his goals, she couldn't join you because of her goals.
Her first ranks and her "slumps". - Depression does this to a person, you can be happy one time and suddenly a tiny obstacle creates this wave of "I'm not good enough I shouldn't be here I shouldn't be happy." Cognition or not, she had suffered the loss of her sister and wasn't getting results while trainning. Anything could put her down. I've been there myself and I still struggle with it sometimes.
The social link doesn't reset/You only know Kasumi, not Sumire/ her perky attitude didn't change/her awakening doesn't make sense - We know Sumire. Sure, she's pretending to be Kasumi, but deep down she's still Sumire. There's an event where she makes a bento for Joker, and it looks atrocious, but when he tastes it it's just curry. In her mind she should be a bad cook, but her food comes out alright anyway. Plus we get snippets about the plot twist, the phone never working, we never saw a picture of her sister. Also, we know her when she was depressed for being her sister's shadow (cutscene with the car accident) but we don't know how she usually acted. We know, thanks to her trainer, that she was quieter and more graceful than Kasumi. Doesn't mean she wasn't perky at the time, and she has as much talent as her twin. In her eyes, Kasumi was better because she won all the time, but Sumire got just as much trainning as her. And Shujin, when Kasumi was alive, wanted BOTH of them enrolled with special status. Self doubt and depression made her underperform, even before losing her sister. Knowing this, her awakening DOES make sense, specially when you consider what her persona was saying. Ok we have Sumire/Kasumi, her sister just died and you're carrying the dream for both of you. You get enrolled with special status, all students are talking about you (we see scenes about the gossip right at the start of the game), the school is expecting great results and in your mind you're "the best of the best". But come competition after competition, you can't perform well. The students that praised you now badmouth you, and even after a third place the higher ups aren't satisfied. No wonder she would almost snap at the palace, SPECIALLY after seeing her sister dying AGAIN (remember, she doesn't know about cognitions yet so it was just like seeing her die again). Her persona says "You strive towards splendor... you know the risk... well if these were the shoes that you chose." You know the risk = she's a fake, and deep down she knows it (self doubt, depression); the shoes that you chose = continue pretending to be Kasumi. On her TRUE awakening, her persona even says "such tenacity, it seem to fit you better than ever before. The glass slippers are a sign of glory." Right at the start of this exploration, Sumire was still faltering due to her self sabotage. But now, NOW she's ready to fully commit and accept who she is. The glory of being herself and being proud of it.
Why did she dance at the school festival. - she's a famous athlete. Students love famous people. She was called because she was recognized.
Why did her father show up? - well we DID help choosing his glasses. jokes aside, it's to foreshadow even further about Sumire's true identity. He says her name, but it gets cut off. We only hear "... re" something like that. Also, two reasons. One, Maruki was making this series of "perfect and happy coincidences" between the characters, so much so that even them commented on it. Her father showing up is also one of those happy coincidences. Two, this man lost one of his children in a tragic accident. I wonder how come he didn't show up MORE. Picking her up from school, from trainning. He should be a little paranoid about her safety.
Why Cinderella/Cendrillon? - Cinderella suffered out of jealousy, ok. Sumire suffered out of jealousy, for her SISTER. Plus, remember, Cinderella had one key aspect: she wished to go to the ball, have the best night ever, maybe meet the prince but she wanted to get out of the shadows. Sumire's biggest wish is to get out of Kasumi's shadow and "go to the ball" so to speak. In this case, to be acknowledged, just as Cinderella was. From ashes to glass. I do think it's quite fitting for her, other fairy tales like Ugly Duckling and Little Mermaid could fit as well.
She suddenly accepted her sister's death. - she got a reality check, had her persona beaten, got in a moody and depressive state. She DID run away from the fact for almost a year. She rralized she had to stop running at some point.
We could've known other patients he helped. - I think the game implies he only helped Rumi and Sumire. He was busy working on his research, and then counseling at Shujin. If he had a chance, he should have helped other students there. Plus the game explicity says that he changed reality because WE the Phantom Thieves asked for it.
She loves Joker no matter what you do. - so does Haru. And Ann.
She stalks you into the palace. - she's worried about her friends after you implied you had an important job. I'd tag along as well just to be sure. And Lavenza went to the nurse's office as the butterfly. She probably saw it as well, IT'S A GLOWING BLUE BUTTERFLY.
Why everyone talks about how much she eats? - it's a trope, probably like Goku or Luffy. It's a japanese game after all.
She doesn't have a reason to join! - She does. It is "stop Maruki and his weird reality". When she joined Joker and Akechi, neither of them knew what was going on as well. They were the only ones with their memories and that's it. They joined up to solve the mystery. She joined up go help. After that, to stop Maruki.
She has Marinette vibes - ... I don't see it? And I watched a lot of Ladybug, got a bit out of hand yikes. But Marinette is a lackluster character I'll give you that.
AAAAAAND I guess that's it? Wow I wrote a lot. If you read it, thank you so much. Once again I'm not attacking you or anything, I'm giving you my honest opinion.
But I'm gonna say: I hated her goodbye scene in Royal. Maruki left you at the station (Billy Kametz c.c), the gang had an awesome farewell and she just... stumbles across you? What was THAT Atlus?
Those are some details, and I appreciate you being polite about them.
I might need to reinstate my thoughts, points, and counters regarding yours:
I can’t say I’ve totally understood the way the game portrays Sumire’s mental struggles… I mean I’ve also hit a really hard time in my life in high school where I was alone in going through these struggles for some time. And the way people go through their own mental hardships can be different for everyone. But Sumire never emphasizes what her “slump” is, or explains the cause for it. She says it like she doesn’t know the reason, and makes it sound like it’s only a simple slump throughout the first five confidant rankings. She’s been pretending to be Kasumi for some time so maybe it was a mind block from tying her back to who she really was? It’s really her confidence that’s shaky, and Joker repeats the same method of saying a phrase to encourage her, and she goes right back to being perky again without pause. Her slump is always dealt with in the same way the first half of her confidant. She seems to just take it as face value like a compliment.
Even with people feeling awkward about her acting and calling herself Kasumi, it’s not a valid enough reason for avoiding her like the plague. Shujin students I get, but her other fellow gymnasts would be the closest thing to interacting with her and having at least a simple conversation, like Makoto with the student council members. She probably wouldn’t have had to lean on him all the time if her parents or her.. teammates? club members? or maybe a single person talked to her and weren’t so set off about her identity issue. It’d be something like Ann and Shiho, Makoto and Eiko, and Mishima with the guys, or just an acquaintance. I don’t know.
I do find your point of her social link interesting over what she could’ve been feeling herself. But it all feels up for interpretation from before she came to Shujin and when she was Kasumi. Joker did what he always does, helping someone because he was somehow out of the loop about her actual identity when none of the thieves, from Shujin, talk about it. I mean I know it’s for the reveal but this detail was something so simple that could easily be solved. Maybe it’s because they thought Joker was calling her Kasumi for her own sake but he could’ve been informed about it, it feels like a loophole.
I had forgotten about her phone. And it doesn’t really makes sense as to why it’s broken only that Sumire’s or Kasumi’s was damaged and she either kept her phone or taken Kasumi’s. The explanation for that is weird. Did she really need Kasumi’s phone to be her sister?
The thieves love her after meeting her how many times outside the Metaverse without brief meetings like she had full conversations with them every time? Futaba and Mona are taken with her right off the bat because of her politeness for being the same age as Futaba with a different personality and interest for being a Persona-User and an athlete. She’s a Persona-User, that’s usually what catches other Persona-Users’ interest, especially the thieves. The most it feels like she interacts with them is in the Metaverse in Maruki’s Palace. Just because she respects them doesn’t mean they have something close to a max 10 rank up up of a powerful bond like the whole team sorta has. Respect can be different from willingly choosing to make close connections because one likes to have a bond with another. Respect can be broken down in many forms.
Her awakening shows no real form of rebellion for an oppressed society that has personally and wrongfully affected her. She has verbally stated that she does not care for people’s opinions and understands the consequences of losing her honour status as a result for ranking lower instead of first place. She did the best she could with what she was already doing and the outcome was what it was. I figured that time she saw her cognitive self was a sort of reminder of her she really was. Like a clue. Considering that her other self from the other world said that it’s her fault, the other self, felt strange and out of place because we don’t know the reason why. If it was just self discovery then that would fit. But she shares nothing that fits with the themes of Persona 5 as a Persona-User. Altus breaks those rules for her. There shouldn’t have been a point for her to have a Persona with such weak reasoning. Her second awakening still has nothing to do with rebellion. And to awaken again the second time with no changes? Hypocritical for the point of the Persona series. It would’ve made sense whether or not she had to even be a Persona-User in the place. Her growth, realization, and moving on from her past would’ve still been affective like the other confidants who reached a point in their lives where the change is known, yet didn’t need a Persona to showcase that. I feel caught in the middle about it.
Her being busy is one thing, but to be out of the story so much with only gaps in between from her appearances just doesn’t feel like a character that can connect the player so strongly as opposed to everyone else. Everyone has responsibilities. Haru has to work on her family company, Yusuke tries to find stability as an independent artist after Madarame, Makoto deals with the student council and doing well with her grades, Ryuji goes back to training as an athlete while working on recovering his leg, and Ann has to deal with the struggles of making it out as a model for her career. Akechi goes through crap with Shido as the Black Mask, being a detective, keeping appearances, and being a student. That’s kind of the point, her goals clash with why she doesn’t need to join the thieves outside of dealing with Maruki. Other than that, she’s got no stakes. She has a life for gymnastics that takes her on a more divided path from others. It’s a lazy excuse of writing to bother even including a character and deeming them important when they deliver no reason of significance to the viewer and backfire their involvement. Akechi doesn’t really count as his reasons and motives are intwined with the thieves’.
The whole school dance and she’s a famous athlete and all is one thing. But is she really the only well known athlete in the entire school for students to be talking about her all the time? It makes me curious about that. And if it’s a school dance, why aren’t any of the thieves who attend Shujin be there? I think I’ve forgotten as to why. But Atlus could’ve come up with any scenario and they chose a dance to bring the obvious ship of her and Joker.
I can really see other fairytale folklore characters that fit her, too, like what you’ve previously mentioned. Though none really fit P5’s themes of fighting for a cause for others and themselves. But I still get the vibe that while her jealousy is shared with Cinderella’s stepsisters, and she becomes someone else to be something than more than what she was, nothing changes about her after that. Her only freedom was through the prince, who took her away from her household and live a happy ending. And while her circumstances are understandable as to why she couldn’t achieve it alone, Cinderella seems like she doesn’t really change. And it’s someone else who does everything for her. To her stepfamily they could’ve perceived her differently, but Cinderella’s character doesn’t appear to change. It feels like a bit of a static character situation, maybe even more. I suppose it’s because she’s acting good in spite of her situation. But I can get behind why Cendrillon fitted her but also not, it just leaves the impression that her and her Persona stays the same. Cendrillon could at least look a little different to bring more evidence of growth instead of giving lines. I think that may be just me..?
The whole eating trope is ridiculous for having it be stated all the time. It feels overused, and to have it be stated every time she eats becomes an unnecessarily boring mention. Especially when the thieves have Ryuji, an athlete himself who they should know exercises a lot. It’s like they don’t know what being an athlete even means.
You can avoid a romance with Ann and Haru by choosing choices that aren’t actually responses to love confessions. Example: when Ann says she’s about to cry on Rank 9, you can comfort her platonically by saying she has the others. It’s the same with EVERY female confidant love interest. There’s an implication for a romance, but you can at least avoid it if you want to.
Your point with her father is something I can agree on. But does getting new glasses with her really deserve a confidant rank? And her tie with Maruki feels loose, and from the time she acted as Kasumi, it didn’t feel like her story expanded to how close of a connection she has to him. Maruki is just far more interesting.
We really didn’t get a chance to see how her student status affected her. But at the same it feels too similar to Makoto’s situation as well in a writing standpoint.
Sumire probably didn’t realize the process of losing her sister for almost a year. She did have her cognition be to probably think and act like Kasumi where their processing of grief is different. Perhaps she didn’t feel the impact of what Kasumi might’ve felt and if the roles were reversed and she wasn’t too heartbroken over herself because of her subconscious? She could’ve only just been processing her thoughts fresh as Sumire because she finally gets to truly be herself again. BUT, part of that just doesn’t sit right, because she said it herself that she knew deep down that her sister was dead (one of them had to be) and that pretending was wrong. That basically confirms that she is actually aware of what she has been doing this whole time. She really did want to be Kasumi. This is just my interpretation.
I did not mean about Maruki’s change in reality. I meant to wondering about the amount of time he has had since obtaining his Persona and what he’s done with his powers that had led up to the moment of his Palace.
She stalked Joker out of just sheer curiosity and not about minding his privacy that had nothing to do with her? Especially the important job that could’ve meant anything that was of no matter to her. Sure, it makes sense for her to care, but to just blindly follow and stayed in the Metaverse for who knows how long does explain much to me. I’m not sure if I’ve missed out an a detail or something. And what friends? She’s only behaved courteously with the thieves like what a professional relationship would be for a workplace. Nice but nothing deep behind it. And their relationship remains the same. The blue butterfly in the office is an iffy one. Other students were there and they didn’t see it. It’s like when some of the Velvet Room Attendants had gone through a veil of invisibility to the outside world accept their guests. Like the various locations of the Velvet Room in the real world and the Metaverse. Not even the thieves, or any team from P3/4 see the doors accept the guest. This could’ve went in a similar route. Like with Marie where she found support with all the members of the Investigation Team whereas Sumire only had that from Joker.
I had also meant something different as to why she had no reason to join the thieves’ cause. It’s obvious that she’d join to stop Maruki because she was personally affected by him and wanted to help. But as a writing standpoint, joining to simply help without having the shared standard goal of a group who strive for betterment from injustice, who personally experienced injustice and have it affect their lives deeply as motivation doesn’t work.
That’s what I mean for the most part when I inputted that Sumire gave the vibes of a similar lacklustre character who goes with seeking someone as their main person of attention. Marinette was the only character I could think of that gave even remotely a similarity. The two are portrayed as good characters despite their actions that leaves a lot of room for questioning why that even is.

ok now for a brief list of examples of manipulate mansplain malewife characters that are compelling because they suck for a specific reason and how Dazai could have used said motivation logically in canon to be more engaging as a character:
1.) Goro Akechi - pretty-boy genius liar and master manipulator. Their physical resemblance is the reason I actually started watching BSD. Akechi's motivation is extremely clear and so beautifully simple. He wants revenge. And he will go to whatever lengths it takes to get it. In the end, his motivation is to be in charge of his own destiny. To break chains or manipulation, be it from his father, Maruki or God Himself.
Revenge would have been an extremely easy pathway for Dazai. Mimic killed Oda. Mori purposefully got Mimic into Japan to stir up trouble and its heavily hinted that he informed them of curry shop and where the orphans live. If Dazai said: the reason my friend is dead is Mori and the Port Mafia. I will now do everything in my power to destroy/dismantle/ruin them to ease my own grief - that would be such an easy reason to explain away why he abandoned Akutagawa and Chuuya with no contact for four years, as well as add significant tension to all these 'team-ups' as well as willingly 'working with Mori.'
2.) Gen Asigiri - king of being two-faced and manipulation - knows always what to say, how to present himself, and what to capitalize on to get on top. He's an expert in human nature and, by that front, the 'negotiator.' Gen's motivation is also very simple - at first, it was so survive, meaning he gets to be on the winning side where he gets more pleasures from life. The second is simply believing in Senku and the world he wants to bring; using his manipulative qualities over and over again to save his friends and create new allies. But, per Gen, its super simple: his motive? Be on the winning side so he can end up powerful and spoiled. WE, as the audience, can see he also just like... loves and wants to help his friends.
Power and money and being on the winning side are also huge motivators. Again, if Dazai showed an interest of dismantling or at least hurting the Port Mafia somehow, that would also make a lot of sense with his backstory. Caring about his friends or wanting to see a better future are also REALLY easy motivators and probably the one where a lot of people would say 'but that IS his motivator! He cares about the agency!'
...Does he? When exactly has he shown that? If that was the case and if he was driven to look out for these people, it again would add a significant richness to his character. But every time he seemingly does something 'kind' for any of the characters, its a means to an end. He's trying to manipulate them into doing or saying something for him. Pep-talk to Kyoka during the Guild Arc? Sure, you could call it a point of connection and a kindness to reassure her that a 'murderer' can become a good person. But this was all to motivate her to fly said plane into the Moby Dick, thus preventing Moby Dick from destroying Yokohama. How about Ango? How about Chuuya? What about any of the people that love him, that go above and beyond for him when he does what seems like nothing in return? The strongest argument you can make here is for Atsushi.
So lets talk about that. Lets talk about our MC and who Dazai is supposed to be for him.
Dazai is supposed to be the mentor-figure. The all-knowing, experienced guiding hand to help Atsushi grow.
Hm. What other mentor figures do we know with that personality?
3.) Reigen Arataka - Reigen's character act is frankly fantastic and powerful. He is proof that an utterly unserious loserboy scam artist can have a meaningful development and huge impact on the story without losing that core aspect of his personality. Reigen ran lots of scams until he found the paranormal investigator role and, when Mob got involved, you could say that he lied to him, manipulated him and used him to make money and grow a successful business. BUT. Its been quite natural. We see the way Reigen starts to change himself and bad habits because of and for Mob. He runs into danger without a second thought for Mob. In the very end, he confesses, with shame and so so much love for this kid, that he'd been lying to him this whole time. Despite not being able to train him in a 'psychic' way, Reigen looked out for Mob, motivated him, treated him like a person when no one else did, and taught him the things that he wasn't naturally good at - like having self-confidence and talking to girls and being a leader. And he continued as such - with Tome and Serizawa, he continued to use his skills to help others and created a safe haven for people that don't feel like they belong anywhere else.
It would have been so, so easy to demonstrate Dazai slowly starting to care for Atsushi. Training him. Teaching him. Motivating him. Watching out for him. Finding joy and meaning in 'helping out some orphans.' Seeing the world through Atsushi's eyes, his joy, his fear, and becoming more human for it. And yet... the only times we see something vaguely along these lines is: Dazai getting 'captured' by the Port Mafia to see who put out a bounty on him (hm,) Dazai slapping Atsushi out of his hallucination when Q got him (hm........) Dazai ''''comforting'''' Atsushi when he realized the headmaster died (hmmmmmmmm.....). One can argue that instructing Akutagawa to save Atsushi is, outside actually recruiting him into the agency, the biggest thing he's really done FOR Atsushi - but, listen. It took NOTHING from Dazai to do that. He sacrificed SOMEONE ELSE who would do anything for him, someone he seems to not care for at all, to save Atsushi. Cool. That's a point for Akutagawa, not Dazai, because in the end Akutagawa made that choice himself. In all honesty, Akutagawa has a LOT more impact on Atsushi's development than Dazai does.
He does not train Atsushi (thats Kunikida.) He doesn't really teach him anything (thats also Kunikida.) He doesn't change as a person because of how much he cares about Atsushi. (Thats Akutagawa and Kyouka.) In the entire series, Dazai shows minimal, if any, growth or development.
4.) Satoru Gojo - look I'm not trying to kick the hornets nest here. Out of all of the above, Gojo is probably the closest person that one can parallel to Dazai (and not only because they have the same English VA.) Gojo plays the 'classic' shounen mentor role. He's extremely powerful and is highly motivated to protect the jujutsu sorcerer way of life. His motivators include being the strongest (classic) as well as raising a generation of jujutsu sorcerers who are hella powerful. His whole thing is getting the kids in and out of jams. He practically raised Megumi (after killing his dad. but. you know.) and defended Yuuji while personally showing him how to develop and control his power. He also has a dramatic and very engaging backstory (Hidden Inventory you will always be famous.) He has a clear motivation to change the entire system that he is a part of, and dies doing it.
Dazai has no interest in changing the system he is a part of. The tri-party system for protecting the city works just fine for him. As mentioned above, Dazai doesn't do shit to ACTUALLY put himself in danger for the sake of his 'mentees.' It might be because Dazai wears the world's thickest plot armor, but him being ''''captured'''' by the Port Mafia or even being ''''arrested'''' and put in jail would be a lot more meaningful if, you know, Dazai actually had to risk or sacrifice anything. The only time he actually risks himself to save someone physically is with Sigma in the elevator, but even THAT is muddled by Dazai barely knowing Sigma but being aware that the way to beat Fyodor is via Sigma's ability. So its not because he's a good person or that Sigma is important, but because preserving his ability takes priority for this 12-dimension game of chess him and Fyodor seem to be playing.
look. i dont think there's anything wrong with a 'coolest hottest smartest undefeatable genius character who can manipulate literally everyone in the world and is also god's favorite.' But there have to be stakes. There have to be risks. There have to be repercussions. Dazai doesn't even feel like a character - just a plot device to keep the other characters moving.
Now. Listen. Here is how we can fix Dazai. What if he, at some young age, got a hold of The Book and read it. Or even wrote in it. What if that is what makes him so nihilistic and uninterested in existing in his own universe. What if he read about the way he dies (way in the future, preferably brutally and horribly) and it made him obsessed with his own death and trying to make it happen on his own terms, not the unfeeling hands of the universe? And that no matter how hard he tries, no matter what insane scenarios he gets himself into, he cannot die? Because he spends all this time in existential dread, hoping that the Book was some kind of cosmic joke, trying to rebel against it but the outcome is still the same. That would explain how he seems to know everything about everyone and never makes the wrong move. How he can treat everyone around him like nothing and they're still dedicated to him. How he can just be an empty shell and still somehow the most important person in the plot.
Kafka Asagiri. Listen to me. THIS IS HOW WE CAN STILL SAVE BUNGO STRAY DOGS.

Hi CoAD a topic that has come up often at times is the nature of grooming and the treatment of minors in the PCU. In your view is this paedophilic or is it more centred around socio-political radicalisation of young people? A number of the PCU leaders are on the older side of the roleplaying spectrum and seem to hang around young players a lot.
What is ironic is how the PCU would always whip out the nonce claim as a final strike at players who spoke out against them in an effort to try and win. PCU members spunn stories that both Maarod and Famosium were paedophiles without any evidence. There is definitely evidence of grooming in the PCU without question, so I find it disgusting that they used to throw this about to silence their enemies who were making valid points
Both. This is grooming both of a degenerate nature and a radicalization nature. This is extremely common in cult like structures as both are used to exert power and control over vulnerable and unsuspecting young members.
The PCU's extreme pathology with ERP and "noncery" is a direct projection of their leadership's deep-set problems which have been present since its inception (going back as far as Vyst within the Bloody Verdict). When attempting to pin any sort of wrongdoing on vocal opposition they have tried repeatedly to use the Helen Lovejoy fallacy to curry support while consistently showed (we've only shown the most prominent and egregious sexual harassment and grooming issues here) that they are the ones with the problem.
In general if they start raising the "noncery" flag then you know you have them on the ropes in any argument, simply resort to Vyst, Perroy, Stormbinder and most recently Morsteth as key examples of deeply disturbing PCU members (three of whom were guild leaders and one being the actual NAMESAKE) engaging in disgusting and abhorrent behavior.
