Shoutout to ship pairings that only work well as exes. Sometimes romantic and platonic dynamics just aren’t the vibe. Sometimes characters have too much chemistry to not be drawn to one another romantically but also the idea of them actually being together long term just doesn’t feel right in your soul. Two people who really wanted it to work but didn’t and now they’re dealing with the fallout. Show me the bitterness. The civility through gritted teeth. The alimony checks. You’ve seen the rawest, most vulnerable part of me and now you’re walking around the street as if we’re strangers. Maybe they stay friends and that unspoken resentment lays dormant just beneath the surface, both of them refusing to look it in the eye. Maybe they don’t talk at all and trail each other’s memory like a shadow. Maybe they never fell out of love but got hurt too badly the last time to try again. Maybe they kill each other

i’m torn between magneto and xavier. i fully empathize with magneto giving up on humanity and choosing to let civilization collapse while saving his own people. but i also understand xavier not wanting to give up, and being horrified at the damage magneto has done, the devastation that will follow. more than anything, i’m just sad. i’m sad that everyone is fighting. the family is tearing itself apart. i don’t blame anyone, i’m just so deeply sorry for all of them.

Every episode of X-Men 97 is so great but I really wish the pacing wasn't quite at such a break-neck speed. SO MUCH gets stuffed into every single episode that you barely have time to absorb this one 'big thing' before the characters are off to the next 'big thing'. And the cliff-hanger for this episode holy...
Hoo boy I can already tell this next episode of X-Men 97 is going to turn the tags into an utter shit show...

you know that one scene from a new hope in which Luke stares at the horizon and the music is loud and melancholic and you can just feel how bad he yearns for something more, something bigger, not because he doesn't like his family or the place he comes from but he just knows that's not all there is and it may be an old movie about space but something about it just speaks to you and for a brief moment you feel completely understood and less alone??? yeah that's a whole mood right there.

Y'all, the world is sleeping on what NASA just pulled off with Voyager 1
The probe has been sending gibberish science data back to Earth, and scientists feared it was just the probe finally dying. You know, after working for 50 GODDAMN YEARS and LEAVING THE GODDAMN SOLAR SYSTEM and STILL CHURNING OUT GODDAMN DATA.
So they analyzed the gibberish and realized that in it was a total readout of EVERYTHING ON THE PROBE. Data, the programming, hardware specs and status, everything. They realized that one of the chips was malfunctioning.
So what do you do when your probe is 22 Billion km away and needs a fix? Why, you just REPROGRAM THAT ENTIRE GODDAMN THING. Told it to avoid the bad chip, store the data elsewhere.
Sent the new code on April 18th. Got a response on April 20th - yeah, it's so far away that it took that long just to transmit.
And the probe is working again.
From a programmer's perspective, that may be the most fucking impressive thing I have ever heard.
