Don't you dare, look away, boy
Don't you dare, look away, now
(Does it hurt too hard?)
Don't you dare, look away, boy
(Is it not too dark?)
Don't you dare, look away, child
(If you like your life)
Don't you dare, look away, boy
(For the fight to live)
Don't you dare, look away, now
(If you like your life)
Don't you dare, look away, boy
(For the fight to live)
Don't you dare, look away
Sun never gonna come up
To the detractors and the accusers and the people of the other side
I would say that they would make ideal human sacrifices

Live Review: Zeal and Ardor at Electric Brixton (13/11/2022)
Live Review: Zeal and Ardor at Electric Brixton (13/11/2022)
The rise of Zeal and Ardor has been quite a phenomenal thing really. I guess it only feels that way if you have been onboard from or near the beginning. I was lucky to come across Zeal and Ardor by chance, when the project was still a project. A one-man band, created by the wonderful Manuel Gagneux, who released music mostly for his own amusement, combining chain gang/slave chants with…
Manuel Gagneux’s vision for Zeal & Ardor was always bound to garner him more critical acclaim than mass appeal, but something like “At the Seams” showed the strength and durability of his approach. There was something immediately haunting about the track, even as it gave way to blackened chaos about midway through: the quieter vocals and verses immediately created an atmosphere of dread, and the subsequent breakdown was a satisfying payoff. Gagneux demonstrated full command of his sound and approach, and “At the Seams” both showcased his potential while also hinting at something even deeper.
The black metal, blues, and African-American fusion of Zeal & Ardor's music is the brainchild of musician Manuel Gagneux. Check them out at Warsaw on Sunday September 11!
Starting to think that I could've really strictly stuck to the "music box" theme on that poll and still easily populated all twelve options with songs by Manuel Gagneux. Not that I'm not enjoying it, mind. I'm just saying the man loves a good music box.
Me, about to ruin a date: “THE THING IS--- ! Listen. Manuel Gagneux has shown repeatedly throughout his musical career that he not only has a willingness to explore a variety of musical genres, but almost a drive to do so. As a result, his approach to genres like black metal, jazz, electronic, yacht rock, etc. have such a refreshing edge to them, because he’s looking at established concepts of, let’s say, “what does it mean to be Metal™?” and going “actually no, I’m gonna switch this up” and then HE DOES-”
trying to get over my indecision on a voiceclaim for nebula. right now it's an intense cage fight between Vessel (sleep token) and Manuel Gagneux (Zeal & Ardor). the choice i make will also serve as a muse for what he looked like pre-exo, because as it stands nebula doesn't have a voiceclaim (if anyone asks i say, idk choose one yourself/make one up) and Eustace exists as a shapeless formless blob of black fog right now.
