Okay, so this is a wild hypothetical and begging baseless speculation... but would Matt getting the boot be better for Tumblr specifically? Have unintentional knock-ons? (And thanks for all your commentary and updates!)

this is absolutely a wild hypothetical! the answer is, perhaps predictably, that it depends on who replaces him.

automattic as a whole is rotten from the top down. one of the board members is a perfect example of this: the very first female general in the US military. #girlboss, right? matt was very excited about bringing her onboard.

matt is on the board. toni, who i believe is the interim ceo and know very little about, is on the board. i would assume that any replacement ceo would be less likely to start a complete PR trashfire, but that doesn't mean that they're not still going to be making cynical, profit-based decisions.

in this economy it's very unlikely that tumblr will be staffed well enough or given enough agency to create actual lasting change for the better. but we'd at least have a ceo who isn't prone to using superadmin tools to fuck individual people over when trying to win arguments, i guess? which is not a structural win in any way, it just removes one particular volatile factor.

Tom Morello uses a Digitech WH-1 Whammy for the guitar solo in "Like a Stone," which is like a $500-$800 highly collectible and desirable pedal.

I believe the originals are made in Canada, but subsequent versions of the pedal--which sell for far less--appear to be made in China, which I don't want. But I also don't want to spend $500+ on a weird, collector's item pedal that I only really want so that I can play one song that came out when I was 14

I found one of the fifth generation models on Reverb that was from an early run made in the USA, so. . .I went ahead and bought that

Snippet from one of my stories set during their earlier days (don't mind at former brunet/blond, they have blue and orange hair in that story, lol ) Hope it'l make you smile ☺️ * “ 'One of the most popular rock bands in the world '. It has only two letters the first is a U…US!” Matt thought aloud, writing the definition of the crossword.

"Except that if anything it would be 'WE'… damn, Matt, there’s a bit of megalomania, huh? I mean, of course that would be the right answer, if only someone knew about us!” chuckled Dom.

“But… phew, those are details!” the former brunet shrugged.

"I think the correct definition is 'U2' argued the former blond.

“I know, but I won't change it anyway!” persisted the other, laughing and making his mate laugh too.

“By the way, we have to buy tickets for their concert.” Dominic reminded him.

"Right. For now we are limited to the mere role of spectators, but trust me, one day you'll see, we will play with them, together on the same stage.” Daydreamed the singer.

"Sure, sure, Matt, you're always sooo exaggerated!" Dom chuckled skeptically, before noticing that his boyfriend seemed to be way too thoughtful. “What’s wrong?” “Huh? Nothing, hun, I was just thinking… ‘Megalomania’ would be such a cool title for one of our songs!” grinned Matt. *
