Mountain Dew Hat Man
i.
“Hey, Sherm, where’s the hat?”
Sherman Peabody adjusted his review mirror. He fixed his favorite liability on a skateboard with a bored, disapproving glare.
Didn’t he graduate high school last month?
“Late again, McFly?”
“I said, where’s the hat?” Marty shouted. “I thought I caught the wrong Jeep for a second!”
“I don’t wear it every day!”
“If you’re going to be Mountain Dew Hat Man, you have to wear the Mountain Dew hat, Sherm!”
What?
Sherman rolled his eyes as Marty waved at the jazzercise girls and they enthusiastically waved back.
He had to find another way to work.

McFly July 10- Daylight Savings Time
Takes place in 1982 in the Twin Pines timeline
Warnings: None
Daylight savings time was Doc’s least favorite scientific phenomenon by a landslide. Normally he would argue that he loved all types of science, but that wasn’t true in this case. He had been collecting clocks since he was in high school, and he was extremely proud of his robust collection. The only problem with owning multiple clocks was that if they weren’t in sync with each other, the sound was maddening.
That wasn’t usually a problem for Doc- he had a strange sort of knack for setting clocks to the correct time. But twice a year he had to painstakingly ensure that every clock in his collection was set exactly one hour forward or backward because of god-forsaken daylight savings time.
When he first started collecting and only had a handful of clocks it wasn’t so bad, but he had spent decades expanding his repertoire now and the task had become extremely tedious. Before he would have to suck it up and try to get it done as soon as possible, but now he had an assistant.
He’s sure that if he asked Marty before his first day what sort of tasks he expected to do, ‘setting various clocks one hour back’ wouldn’t have been one of his answers. He was certainly displeased when Doc informed him of what they’d be doing that day. “Why can’t you just invent something to set them all back an hour at the same time? Then you could just press a button and be done with it!”
“I’ve tried to do exactly that before, Marty, but it was just too difficult to get the precise motions for each clock. Besides, a machine capable of doing that would block half of the collection and it’d be too heavy to move, so it’s out of the question.” His new assistant sighed huffily before begrudgingly picking up an alarm clock to set. Doc got a ladder to start setting the clocks on the wall.
It didn’t take long for Marty to vastly improve the dreadful task compared to previous years. After setting a handful of clocks the boy began to chat away about what had been going on at school, and Doc eagerly listened to the stories. When they were about a third of the way through the collection he asked if he could put on one of Doc’s records and cheerfully sang along to his Beatles albums.
By the time they were finished it was dark out, but rather than feeling sour at having wasted a day like he used to, Doc had a soft smile on his face as he observed Marty sleeping on the couch with Einstein laying on his legs like a blanket. He had gone to take a break about an hour before and evidently fell asleep almost instantaneously. Doc elected to let him rest, and took the phone as far from the couch as he could to avoid waking him as he called his parents to let them know where their son was. Maybe he should clear all that junk off of his old cot for the kid to use…

Mcfly July Day 17 - A man and his saxophone, or as i like to call it,
*bonk*
"Hey, Doc, come over here. I want to try out this new camera, it's got a timer on it. Oh, and bring your saxophone."
When Marty accidentally whacked his friend in the head, he somehow managed to hit the same spot that held significance nearly 30 years before. Weird.
Also, Marty and Doc both keep copies of this photo in their wallets at all times (and they both absolutely lose it every time they see it)

Day 8: driver's license
---
“So I can work for you?”
“And with me, yes,” Emmett says, head still buried in the tool box.
“Rock and roll. Thanks, Doctor Brown.”
“See you at 9am, sharp.”
Marty starts for the door, but lingers at the array of clocks, some running, some not.
“Hey, Doc?”
Emmett picks up his head, uncertain about the overly-familiar epithet.
“Yes, Mr McFly?”
“What are all these for?” Marty asks with a wave at the timepieces.
“Stick around and you might find out,” Emmett says, eyes crinkling in unbridled excitement – then something occurs to him. “You do have a driver’s license, right?”

Math homework for #mcflyjuly
Marty falling asleep at Doc’s house after a long night of review before a math test. I have a feeling he would be the kind of student to spread review papers all over the floor.
