The dress that she'd been shown was sheer, clingy, and revealing - though her stylist had presented it as 'flowing, bold, and elegant'. It didn't really matter, she knew that the sponsors wouldn't give her the time of day if she wasn't appealing to look at, and she needed much more than that. Once there it was easy for her to slip into the mask she'd crafted for herself, sweet and sympathetic, smiling and simpering for sponsors to deem her tributes - or, tribute - worthy of assistance.
Eventually, she managed to slip away, avoiding the sponsors she knew to be more handsy than necessary, to grab a drink. She was happy to people watch as she sipped at her drink, shaking her head slightly as she watched people dance. "Honestly," she glanced at the person next to her and smiled, "I didn't think people would have such issues dancing to sea shanties - clearly, I was wrong."

135th Mentor's Ball Drink Menu
Cosmopoli-Ted (by Greta)- this cocktail combines some blood red cranberry juice with cointreau, triple sec, lime, vodka, and some iridescent edible glitter. Topped with an orange twist, optional sugared rim, and a little bit of mystery, this tribute to the nametag missing its owner is always served with a smile.
Giraffe's Laugh (by Greta)- a chocolate martini that's just a little bit twisted, just like our favorite safari mutt! Vanilla vodka, chocolate liqueur, creme de cacao, triple sec, and orange juice are stirred, not shaken, and will have you bending over backwards for more.
Out of this Whirled (by Greta)- an alien blend of sparkling lemonade, blue curacao, and melon liqueur, swirled together and ready for takeoff
Blood in Water (by Devin)- Based on the lazy river and the vines waiting below - Grenadine - Blue Curaçao - Mixed berries  - Rosemary
Ash Chaser (by Devin)- ½ oz Real Grenadine, 1 oz gin, 1 oz apple brandy, 2 dashes absinthe, Black Food Dye, Shake all with ice for 10 seconds, Strain into a cocktail glass, Garnish with a rose
Little Green Men (by Kaye)- This sour appletini is guaranteed to blast you straight into outer space! A play on the Space Race mutts, the Little Green Men is cosmically sweet with a starry sour punch.
Serengeti Sunset Sangria (by Kaye)- A fruity red sangria chock-full of lush berries and fruits, topped off with a rosemary lemonade for a summer taste as bright as the Serengeti sun.
Cotton Candy Carnival (by Kaye) - A cotton-candy flavored drink so sweet your teeth just might rot out. It's garnished with cotton candy flavored dot ice cream that sinks to the bottom in a rainbow of colors, and crushed rainbow candy lines the glass rim. Try not to die of a sugar rush!
The Big Top (by Kat)- A drink inspired by the wonderful centerpiece found at every good carnival. The drink itself is made with cherry grenadine, topped with rose petals and mint and filled to the brim with ice. When the drinker stirs with the signature heart shaped straw, causing some of the ice to melt, a reaction occurs and it looks as if the liquid itself is sparkling.
Space Chaser (shot & chaser) (by Rainy)- This drink can be paired with whatever alcohol the drinker prefers, though it is typically served with vodka. Celebrating the two ride vehicle colors represented by 'space race', these drinks come in a starry starry flight. the first drink, red white and blue: vodka, edible sugar petals, and grenadine. the chaser, some lemonade with strawberries floating inside of it. It's truly a race to the bottom.
A Little Panem (by Hair)- This drink is colored red and gold to represent the beautiful country of Panem. It is a combination of tequila and cranberry juice, with a zest of both lime and orange. To add a little extra sweetness, there's a bit of golden honey, and a dash of coarse sea salt ties it all together. From the mountains, to the sea, to the orchards full of fruit, Panem (and this drink) has it all. But be careful! This drink may seem alluring, but indulge in enough of them and you might come out the other side a little disoriented.
A Long Day’s Journey Into Night (by Lena)- When the fireworks have stopped and the rides have grown still in the dead of night, those who remain must reckon with the actions that took place in the light. An anise-flavored liquor pairs here with a dose of ether to create a drink that encourages the consumer to contemplate. What lengths have you gone to? And how far will you go?
Ball Brownies (by Lena)- Mahlon’s special, still made with essence of ether (for as long as supplies last). So what if the price is doubled from last ball? You want the thing or not?

135th Mentor's Ball
The Mentor's Ball is held partially outdoors, despite the January chill. Heating lamps line the area to keep guests comfortable, and snow has been shoveled aside to set up an elaborate, pop-up carnival, complete with smaller, more basic versions of some of the rides in the Arena. There are games lining the main stretch of all invention, every guest has been gifted tickets they can exchange for tries at challenges like the ring toss, duck pond, balloon darts, and more. Big winners can choose from a variety of oversized, stuffed prizes, and smaller winners receive smaller tokens (a yo-yo, a finger trap, a stress ball) for their efforts. There is a heated tent for music, dancing, and socializing, with performers scattered about: fire breathers, contortionists, stilt walkers, aerialists. There are high-class twists on carnival food available at stalls, like gourmet funnel cakes, artisanal popcorns, and cotton candy in novel flavors. And, of course, the drinks flow liberally-- see the inspo blog for the evening's menu of bespoke cocktails.

Cat was used to being an accessory on the arm of whoever would have her – that was what going to the Mentor's Ball was for, wasn't it? To be a hot piece of something for someone to brag about; Cat was over that, thought it was sick, she was tired of being used by the Capitolites, tired of being used by sponsors. Instead, she was here with an equal, with Holland and if that didn't have her giddy, nothing would've. However, she wouldn't have minded being an accessory for Holland and practically acted like one, with the way her eyes almost never left her as they entered the party.
"I know I already told you this like, eighty fuckin' times but you look gorgeous," Cat said, a big cheesy grin on her face. "Did – do you actually even like dancin' or am I jus' really good at convincin' you?" She asked, cocking her head to the side as she sipped on her drink.

When I was little I used to watch dbz kai on nicktoons, which cuts out a lot of the filler content from Z. It was always insane accidentally discovering the og scenes on YouTube, like secret surprise content
Tumblr media
This does not include the bit where my mom walked in the kitchen and asked what was wrong, so I told her I watched a sad animal video because I didn't have the heart to say I was crying over DBZ clips hdkdj (she knew what it was and didn't really like it lol)

132nd Mentor's Ball Drink Menu
Apple Blaze (by Elle)
Stewed slices of apple resting in a bath of whiskey mixed with hot cider, a cinnamon stick added for garnish and taste and ice added to cool the hot drink.
Chlorine Spritz (by Ramona)
Prosecco, honey, and blue kinky, shaken over ice. The drink is meant to affect the visual of a swimming pool you'd see on a hot summer day. The flavor is tart with a smattering of tropical fruits, making it feel like summertime.
Sucker-Punch (by Ramona)
Inside the glass are absinthe soaked peaches, representing the leeches and thyme to represent the weeds in the lake. Blue curacao, midori, and club soda finish off the drink to fully tie together the motif of the lake at Camp Nightlock.
Toasted S'more (by Kaye)
This boozy twist on the campfire classic will leave you begging for s'more! Chocolate liqueur, a splash of baileys, and marshmallow vodka are mixed with a healthy helping of chocolate syrup to finish. The drink is garnished with an elegant cookie reimagination of the graham cracker, whipped cream, and marshmallows. A sprinkle of sugar and graham cracker crumbs top it off. Let's get toasted!
The Tiebreaker (by Rainy)
It's actually just straight up vodka dyed blue with oranges submerged in it/on the rim of the glass. On the rocks, perfect for anybody who never was good at picking teams in capture the flag.
The Poison Oak (by Hair)
This summery drink starts with muddled limes and sugar. Then, a heap of fresh sliced strawberries is added to give this drink its signature red color. Next, this cocktail gets a refreshing cool down with sprigs of fresh mint. Finally, we've added a few ounces of premium gin and topped it off with club soda to finish. It's so delicious that pretty soon you'll be itching for another!
A Night Aflame (by Virginia)
Rye whiskey is joined with chocolate bitters and maple syrup to create a smoky, bitter, and sweet drink that will remind you of nights around the campfire. For those who like a little flash, this drink is served aflame, though the fire quickly goes out.
Fresh Off the Flagpole (by Cowboy)
Equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Coke. Skewed onto the sword is a carpel (peeled orange slice), and wrapped around the stem of the glass is a ribbon the color of the winning team's flag.
Unidentified (by Leo)
There is no ingredients list, but drinkers may notice varying notes unique to their tastes. Everyone should drink at their own discretion - the beverage may or may not be a mild hallucinogenic.
The North Forest (by Leo)
Much like in Camp Nightlock's densely packed forest, it's easy to get lost in this cocktail. The mixture of vodka, gin, tequila and rum would be a killer on its own, but masked by the sweetness of raspberry juice and the slight sour tinge of lemon juice it becomes truly dangerous. To resemble its namesake more, the liquids have been colored with food dye.
The (Madge) Boxcar (by Lena)
A bitter little bitch of a drink to knock you off your feet and onto your ass, or into a leech-infested lake. Made with vodka, blue curaçao, lemonade, fresh lemons (as sour as possible), and topped with grenadine for that freshly-maimed look.
First Aid (by Kaye)
For when the festivities need a little CPR-- but you'll want to nurse this sweet and sour boozy drink lest you flatline! With notes of cherry and blue raspberry under a heavy-handed helping of vodka, some might find this concoction a little like medicine.

"I really don't understand half of the outfits," Moxie admitted. Some of them were so wispy and ethereal it didn't feel as if there was an actual concept behind them. Her least favorite to date was the woman who walked in, her skin painted blue and the dress she wore a mix of blue and white tulle – was she really meant to be the ocean? Horrible. "I feel like everyone who isn't a pirate is missing the point," Moxie mumbled pressing her glass up to her lips.

135th Mentor's Ball;
“Happiness is simply a temporary condition that proceeds unhappiness. Fortunately for us, it works the other way around as well. But it's all a part of the carnival, isn't it?” ― Federico Fellini
Fulvia has chosen to infuse her attire with the spirit of the carnival, drawing inspiration from both the vibrant energy of the arena's festivities and the elegant theme of the mentor's ball. Delving into historical imagery of mimes intertwined with the whimsy of clowns from the pre-rebellion era, her ensemble speaks volumes. Adorned in a striking palette of black and white, accentuated by a touch of melancholy in her makeup, she tastefully conveys her discontent with the games and the excessive opulence enveloping them.

"So, d'you feel better this side a' all of it?" Cat asked. She had begrudgingly peeled away from Holland to at least pretend to do her mentorship job. It wasn't a shock when she, eschewed talking with the sponsors to find her friends and well, harass them. "Like, talkin' t' sponsors, doin' all that kinda shit?" Cat clarified, giving a gentle nudge to Mason.
