Dedicated to @kairennart, whose King Merlin gave me the itch to finish this manip, and to @magicinavalon who asked them the Merlin in dark blue. Also, @queerofthedagger, as the author of "It Was One Kingdom, Once", the fic that inspired Kairennart's art. I don't know if this Merlin might fit into your fic but I hope you'll appreciate the same.

The prince of Essetir is to leave his home in order to meet his future husband, King Arthur Pendragon of Camelot.

Manip planned and partially started (Colin's faces picked) in April 2019, but then abandoned. Turning Photoshop on to do either Kirk or Spock for Christmas, off course I go and manip something I have no rush for! The day before @kairennart had posted their Merlin in blue and their art inspired me to finish this manip. So, while not specifically related, anyone is welcome to picture this Merlin as the Merlin @kairennart painted.

Literally finished the last touches yesterday. Posting before I can change my mind and find something else to do. I wanted to remove that horse, that looks like floating, but I couldn't replace it with someone else-- you'll see in the follow up that is coming for what I mean.

Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip) Manip started in 2019, when I completed the boring task of searching and picking the face. Initially I decided for a bearded Colin, completely finished the necessary retouches... and then, when I was about to delete the other placed temporary faces, I decided that the Merlin one was the best one... so I went and manipped that as well, thus this version. Unable to pick which version I wanted to trash, I decided to keep both. I did add something to make the second different, you'll see. Please appreciate the changing of the symbol/decoration on the pommel and the keeping of the grey for the "studs" like decorations of the jacket.

Merlin 10th Anniversary of the Finale Christmas Eve 2012

I want to celebrate (and cry) about the show I miss so much and celebrate the 10th anniversary of the finale with the immortal Merlin Fandom.  Basically, I’d love to, from now until Christmas, celebrate it being a decade since our beloved show ended and wanted to put together just a casual thing for everyone who is interested.

Guidelines:

1. Create something for Merlin, gifs, art, fic, writing, fanvids, anything that shows your positivity and love for the show and characters

2. It can be about Merlin in general but extra cookies for things dedicated to Merthur and the ‘Diamond of the Day’ Finale

Its been ten years to the day since the beautiful and devastating Merlin Finale Diamond of the Day aired on Christmas Eve. It is transcendent and I wanted to make a tribute video for Merlin and Arthur and how their beautiful relationship developed. I used a clip or two from every single episode, in chronological order to convey this journey. 

There are obviously so many clips and moments I could have used but I had to choose just one or two which resonated with me. I'm planning on making more videos and edits for them to celebrate this milestone (and feeling unwell with a horrible cold right now so I'm just glad that I got this made and I kept thinking of Merlin and his resilience to help me finish) 

The video isn't perfect and its because I had to teach myself premiere pro (which I had never used before and I hate asdfghj) and everything that could go wrong in editing did. It deleted my clips, progress, I couldn't colour correctly, it overwrote my project files the list is endless and I almost gave up but I had to make something for the story and characters I hold so close to me, who are my home, my magic and my light. I love them so much. 

Some of this was completed on my old laptop for nostalgia sake. I chose Cloud Atlas since Merlin and Arthur are soulmates and their story echoes through every century. It is both beautiful and absolutely gut wrenching. I am never recovering from this finale and will definitely make another video when I feel better. 

I wanted to do so much for this anniversary but this video is for you Merlin & Arthur, Colin & Bradley and everyone involved in bringing the magic to life and to the dedicated talented fanbase, it may be an empty world without Merlin, but we're filling it everyday with love for him and Arthur ♥

Arthur will return to Merlin at Christmas I am convinced and until that day, I'll be here holding this story and these two close, for always.

Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip) When I decided that the Merlin's face fitted better, I already had the finished Colin's version, and I didn't want to delete it. But I didn't want to post two twin manips. So I decided to apply some changes and eventually gone for the "why not replace the knights in the background with some of The Knights?". Unfortunately, only Leon, Percival and Gwaine could be used: Lancelot's and Elyan's pics from the set were taken from a different perspective and didn't work (front/other side - no complete horse head that would need to cover Merlin's cloak). For some reasons, I removed the sword and the decoration from the chest. All in all, I believe the Merlin's version is perfect on the face, while Colin is a bit "off". But I like it nonetheless.

I'm fucking tired man and am not here for hate

I can dislike something someone has done or said

But still fundamentally they're important to me

And more importantly they're important to Jared

I'm not here to fight his battles

I'll certainly defend when I can but he and Jensen's friendship is their business

Some people have been in too deep and this is a reality check that nobody and no relationship is perfect

But they clearly have something special and are bonded for life

You're not a better person if you're hateful to Jensen nor if all you do is defend Jared constantly

I think some people clearly love drama and tbh it's really immature

None of us are in this friendship all we can do is support and love the people we do

NOBODY IS PERFECT and everyone makes mistakes

I'm not thrilled about this but I'm so done at seeing shitty stuff on my dash from people who clearly couldn't wait for another chance to drag Jensen

Some things are just not that deep people and imo this has been blown out of all proportion

Saw a really good post (I can't find it now) about all the bullshit surrounding Jensen and the prequel drama basically fans taking a measured and supportive response to it instead of blindly hating and turning Jensen into some sort of supervillain. Jared would be proud and not of those who spend all their time smashing Jensen down (or anyone tbh) and pretending they're better fans of Jared for it. He would be appalled at the way some people talk about Jensen and hating him certainly doesn't make you a better fan in fact it makes you worse because it goes against everything Jared has taught me. They are grown men they have dealt with this grow the fuck up

I’ll write a better post for this but I really wanna do something special for the 10th anniversary of the Merlin Finale. I wanna make some gifs or a video or something. But I also wanna reblog things you guys make too but without too many rules. 

So would anyone be interested in a Merlin 10 celebration?
