Hyped for the new Splatoon!

I know for sure some of my characters will be getting redesigns to reflect the new gear and hairstyles. Specifically, Tavian is now going to get the dreads he rightfully deserves and I couldn’t be more happier. I’ve always wanted a dread option for him, and wasn’t completely satisfied with giving him the default ponytail style in 1, and the slick back in 2. It’s so happy for me to finally be able to give Tavian the look he deserves.

Avia I don’t believe will change much due to her having a custom octoling soldier outfit. But who knows? New Octoling armour might look dope on her, we shall see. Her hairstyle won’t change and I doubt her weapon pick won’t either.

Also glad to see a curly hair option for Octolings as well! It’s reminicint of Violet’s hair and the fact a curly haired octo girl was using a hydra like Violet..I immediately lost it. I was gone.

Others time will tell given gear options so they will remain as is for now. Angler 100% will not change as she’s a custom design.

As for coroika stuff...I really, really hope if the manga touches on 3 later down the road and we get some redesigns. Specifically Yellow-Green Team. Rider and co deserve it. I’ve always had this headcanon that Bamboo was secretly a hydra main and seeing a hydra variant shown off in the trailer as the flagship splatling this time around instead of the usual heavy...gives me hope. I can just imagine the new manga arc opening up and the first battle we see of YG team in the new environment they are packing a hydra in their comp. I assume Blazer will have one of the new modded gals (but does bedazzling exist in the Splatlands???). Rider’s dynamo looks the same which is lame. If you’re going to redesign a weapon, at least make the dynamo even more bigger and badass than it already is. If you’re going to give Bamboo a bigger gun to be OP with right out of the gates, you might as well give Rider a bigger OP dynamo roller too. Stealth’s Jet Squelcher I’ll laugh if it gets some horrific dualie modification or the OG Dual Squelcher returns as a new variant of Jet Squelcher (lovable moron will likely forget to use his new subs AGAIN).

Ending on hydra, it’s design got squished and less threatening but I assume that it’s more or less for a looks can be deceiving type thing

As of last summer I have been working on a comic version of a fanfiction I wrote. While I have rough sketched out all pages, I will not be redoing the AU story from scratch to line up with new details in 3. It’s just too much to change with the progress I have so far haha. Instead, future fics about said Mermaid AU will likely retcon and change some things. But the comic as is will be staying true to it’s original fic.

i think our preferences are pretty similar bc i also love reading on ao3 since i like their format and easier for saving/bookmarking + avoid non-con/dub-con or any upsetting content so finding new ones won’t take long :D
