honestly, my favourite part of prime!michael and mirror!philippa's dynamic is that michael is a vulcan-raised human who pretends she has no emotions, and philippa is just like "emotions?? who's she?? i only know Smug Superiority, Sarcasm and Genocide" and then they spend the next two seasons actively trying to die for each other while experiencing extreme confusion and irritation at the other doing the Exact Same Thing
You can think about Star Trek Discovery all you want.
You can say about it not having enough emotion all you want.
It will not stop me from bawling my eyes out, everytime I watch "An Obol for Charon" (s02e04] or "Project Daedalus" (s02e09) or the whole dying thing from Hugh Culber or sad Baby Spock or when Micheal reunites with the crew or...
Think what you are, but I do not believe that there are no emotions inthis show.
Please no disrespectful comments, I can understand, when some people do not agree with my opinion but that's what it is, my opinion.
I like DIscovery. It has definetly room for improvement but that applies to almost every movie or tv show out there.

Summary: Modern AU. Michael is feeling down about her not-relationship with her boss, Philippa Georgiou, and her own lack of plans for her vacation days. To get away from it all, she throws some clothes into her backpack and starts driving without a destination in mind: anywhere that isn't home sounds just about right. When she stops at a motel for the night, she's surprised to see a familiar face...

with star trek discovery coming to an end this year, i wondered whether anyone would be interested in a big bang event? it would start in june, after the finale, with the bulk of the schedule over the summer.
a big bang is a long-form fic challenge with accompanying artwork. authors sign up to write a fic that, at a minimum, is 15-20k in length, and artists sign up to create fanart for those fics.
the parallels between Micheal and Georgiou in season three are interesting to me.
Like we have the obvious parallels that have been there the whole time. They both killed their universe version of each other, and they both regret it. They both protect each other because of that regret.
But now in season 3 we have a Micheal who no longer fits into Discovery the way she did before. She's been alone long enough that the structure is grating on her.
And we have Georgiou going back to the terran empire and struggling with it. Not fitting into her role as emperor the way she did before.
