This had to be a nightmare. The only way to justify this scenario. Toto, my boss had asked a simple thing this morning, like every other day: coffee freshly brewed from the local coffee shop that he claimed to be the best because according to him “there is a big difference between rich flavorful coffee and one that tastes like burnt shit”.

This morning had started like any other; wake up, get ready, head to the coffee shop, wait patiently (considering the line can get very long), and finally head to the office to hand in the coffee to Toto before finalizing plans with one of his many assistants. I hadn’t anticipated the line to lead to the end of the shop, way longer than usual.

That's fine, I can just wait a bit longer. Shouldn’t be a big deal. I thought to myself before I finally realized after nearly 15 minutes passing. I wasn’t going to make it in time and I had just finished ordering his custom drink. My leg started to bounce, in anticipation as I made a timeline in my head, calculating how long it would take from here to the office barely going over the speed limit (with hopefully no traffic).

They called my order and I thanked them before quickly leaving. The ride wasn’t completely terrible, just a few people who shouldn’t have a license cutting in front of me. I glanced at the clock in my car, showing I was already 10 minutes late. Crying internally, I exited the car with the hot coffee gripped in my hand.

“Y/n, you’re unusually late,” one of the desk ladies said with fake concern hiding back her smirk. I only turned to her for a second ready to make a remark or witty comeback but before I could even get a word out I felt another body come into contact with my own, sending the hot flavorfully rich coffee forward.

Apologies were said before I could even get a glance at who exactly I was trying to help with dainty napkins. “It’s fine” was the voice that made me finally look up, feeling the most embarrassed.

Mick Schumacher.

The guy I had been crushing on since I was first employed. I froze before finally remembering that he had made contact with hot coffee. Coffee; a very hot liquid that could cause third-degree burns. I mentally cursed at myself before apologizing frantically.

Before I could suggest, he took off his white t-shirt taking the napkins from my hand, still trying to reassure me that it was fine. But no matter how hard he tried, I would glance at his face and internally feel terrible seeing the wincing pain he was experiencing.

“You should probably get that checked” I informed, still trying to help. He only made eye contact with me for a split second, mumbling an agreement.

Footsteps were heard from behind me and I glanced behind me, spotting the last person I wanted to see.

“Should I not be witnessing this?” he asked, staring down at the shirtless Mick. My cheeks burned bright red at the thought of that ever happening and we both said

“It’s not what it looks like” I picked up the empty cup of coffee and he made a face of understanding before finally giving me a death glare and handing back the cup.

“Get me another one. I’ll send someone to clean this up” he blankly stated before walking away not sparing another glance.

I was ready to apologize again to the still shirtless Mick who stood beside me before he interrupted me “You want my forgiveness?”

I gave him a confused look, about to ask a simple question that started with a w and ended with an “aht” but he choose to interrupt me again offering me a deal. “Buy me coffee, not today. Saturday maybe?”

This sounded too much like a date. Too good to be true. Again, confused I asked “What?” without being interrupted.

“Go on a date with me. This Saturday. Then I’ll forgive you, of course, you’re paying” he shrugged and I finally understood.

He clearly just wanted free coffee after I had nearly sent him to the hospital.

“To be honest, I’ve liked you for a while just never got the chance to ask you out. Now I do” what.

Of course, I agreed, trying to be the most chill meanwhile internally I had contemplated if I was dreaming.

Best nightmare I’ve ever had.

Just to be clear

AN: Hi! This is my first imagine, and english is not my first language, but I hope you like it.

Mick Schumacher x reader

Summary: The German driver has a huge crush on you, but flirting isn not his strenght.

Word count: 907

Mick wasn't in love with you. Or at least it was what he liked to tell himself before seeing you. But when his heart raced everytime he saw you and cringe when you left, it was harder for him to fool himself.

You and Mick had met at Haas, when Mick arrived for his first year in Formula 1. Your job was to accompany the Haas drivers to their press engagements.

You two had gotten along from the beginning, since Mick was very responsible and kind, he made your job easier. You had become friends quickly, you always had something to talk about and made each other laugh.

Before he noticed, you were the first person he wanted to talk with after a race, or before, or all the time if he was being honest.

And yet... you were so clueless about it.

It wasn't that you hadn't noticed that Mick was especially nice to you, but to be fair the german driver was nice to everyone, so you didn't think much of it.

Mick knew he hadn't been very upfront about how he felt about you. Whenever he tried to flirt with you, he ended up sounding more friendly than flirtatious. Something that had not gone unnoticed by his teammate.

-Well that was just sad- Kevin laugued after seeing Mick flirtatious attempt fail once again.

Mick rubbed his hands over his face in frustration.

-I know

Kevin shook his head chuckling -You have to be more straightfoward

-And how do I do that?

-Well you could just kiss her -Kevin burst out laughing when he saw his partner blush- I´m messing with you Mick, ask her out, invite her to dinner or something.

And so he did. Well, sort of. He had gotten a bit stumped on the words and the invitation had been rather vague, but you had accepted, so he considered it a succes.

Few hours later he knocked on the door of your hotel room, he stood in front of you with a very nice navy blue shirt, styled hair and a red rose on his hand. You couldn´t help but blushed a little, you couldn´t remember the last time someone had given you flowers and the fact that they were given to you by your crush made it more special. You placed the flower in a glass of water and you two started your way to his car in orde to get to the restaurant.

However the conversation didn´t go as smoothly as usual. You kept trying to find a topic to talk about but the german kept letting it die answering in monosylables. It wasn´t that he didn´t wanna talk to you, he was just too nervous, he still wasn´t sure how to be more "straightfoward" with his intentions, the problem was that now he wasn´t talking at all.

The silence wasn´t something you necessarily found unconfortable, especially with Mick, but he seemed weird, so you started worrying. When you finally got to the restaurant you talked again.

-Is everything alright?- You asked as you gently touched his arm. The tingling in his arm that your touch and your worried look provoked, helped him to get out of his head.

-Yes, sorry- He said while giving you a kind smile.

Things went back to normal during the dinner. You talked about work and how excited you were for the next race. The only problem was that back to normal meant friendly, and even though you were fine with it, you knew Mick wasn't exactly a flirt, and you didn't care, that wasn't why you liked him, but Mick couldn't help but feel a little defeated. This is not how things should be. You two should be together and he should be able to freely tell you how he felt about you. But he couldn´t.

You had a very good time, as you always did, but as you two approached the door of your room you felt a little disappointed, maybe you had misunderstood. Maybe it hadn't been a date, other than the rose there had been nothing to make this outing any different than any other time you had gone out.

Mick knew that as well, you had a good time, a friendly good time. Kevin's words kept running through his head. "You need to be more straighfoward" he had tried, "Invite her to dinner or something" He had and nothing had changed.

Although there was still something he hadn't tried. "You could just kiss her". Well, that was definitely straightfoward, and they say an action is worth a thousand words. Maybe the fact that he was uncapable of flirting with you didn´t mean he couldn´t make his intentions clear.

-I guess I´ll see you t- You hadn't finished saying goodbye when the German smashed his lips against yours. You had to admit that this was not how you imagined a kiss with Mick, but you were not disappointed at all. You brought your hands up to the back of his head and he wrapped his arms around your waist.

Mick smiled in the middle of the kiss. Flirting with you felt forced, but kissing you felt so natural, so right.

He rested his forehead on yours once you parted for air.

-Just to be clear, I want you to be my girlfriend. -You couldn't help but laugh a little

"Mick, Schätzchen, have you ever thought about joining TikTok?" Yn asked with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes.

"TikTok? Really?" Mick raised an eyebrow, not entirely convinced.

Yn chuckled, "Warum nicht? (Why not?) It's a fantastic way to connect with fans. Let's create an account together!"

After some convincing, Mick reluctantly agreed. Yn set up his account, and soon they were ready to post the first TikTok. Little did they know, it would become an internet sensation.

His first TikTok featured the two of them attempting the viral clapping challenge. The idea was simple—clap their hands while crossing one leg, all while navigating different locations on race weekends. However, the process wasn't as smooth as it seemed.

In the first clip, Mick and Yn found themselves in a hotel corridor. As they started clapping and crossing legs, Mick tripped over his own feet, and they burst into laughter. The genuine moment of joy captured the hearts of fans, and the comments flooded in.

"Okay, Micky, let's try this again. Clap, laugh, leg cross!" Yn said giggling

"This is harder than it looks!" Mick responded laughing on the corridor floor

The duo's next stop was Imola, where Mick's Australian Shepherd, Angie, joined in on the fun. With her wagging tail, she managed to mimic the leg cross move, leaving the couple in stitches.

"Angie wants to join the TikTok too!" Yn giggled.

"Angie, du bist so süß (Angie, you're so cute)," Yn cooed, ruffling the dog's fur.

Mick petted Angie, "You're stealing the show, Frau"

Throughout the season, Mick and Yn continued the clapping challenge, showcasing different locations, from the paddock to picturesque cities around the world. Each video brought its own set of challenges and hilarious moments.

Encouraged by the positive response of the bloopers she uploaded on instagram, Yn had an ambitious idea – to get Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff involved. She pleaded with him in his office.

"Toto, please, it's just a quick video! The fans would love to see the boss having some fun."

Toto sighed, "Fine, but just this once. What do I have to do?"

Yn grinned, "Just clap your hands and cross one leg while walking. It's easy!"

Toto chuckled, "Ah, the things I do for social media”

The resulting video showcased Toto's serious demeanor breaking into a smile as he awkwardly attempted the trend. Fans went wild, and Toto's unexpected charm won over the internet.

"Ja, let's go!" Yn said mischievously to her.

As Mick started clapping and crossing his leg, Yn and Gina coordinated their push, causing Mick to stumble dramatically.

"Autsch! Ihr seid gemein! (Ouch! You're mean!)" Mick told them faking a hurt expression.

The three burst into laughter, Mick, with a mock hurt expression, turned to Yn for comfort. Seizing the opportunity, he pulled her into a sweet kiss, knowing it would irk his sister.

"I never thought making these videos could be so entertaining. Danke, Liebling" Said Mick kissing his girlfriend as Gina fake gagged behind them.

Gina groaned, "Ugh, you two are insufferable."

“Strawberry?” you gave a confused look to your friend who had just handed you a pink lip balm getting you to try it for yourself. She just nodded with a bright smile, still enticing you to try it. You finally gave in, rubbing it against your lips, puckering them before handing it back to her.

“You’ll thank me later” she smirked as you began to exit her car after having hung out the entire day since she had a first date, insisting she didn’t have anything to wear. You just accompanied her cheering in the beginning before growing tired and just wanting to relax with your boyfriend who had been waiting for you for the last couple of hours.

You announced your arrival, putting down your handbag releasing a tired sigh as you traveled to the living room, spotting Mick laying on the couch scrolling through his phone looking up, giving you a small smile of acknowledgement.

“Find anything?” he asked, starting up a conversation, making enough room for you to sit down next to him. You just shook your head. He put down his phone, placing it on his lap before turningot you giving you a small kiss of greeting, pulling back only to lick his bottom lip a bit surprised of the taste.

“Something wrong?” you couldn’t help but ask, frowning a bit from him pulling away. He shook his head, reassuring you before pulling back in to get another kiss, to taste the lip balm that remained. Seeing him lick his lips again, you finally realized. “y/bsf gave some lip balm”

“Strawberry, right?” he guessed, you made an impressed expression nodding and he just looked impressed with himself. He pulled in slower this time, savoring the taste trying to deep in it. Your lips parted slightly allowing little space but he continued before slowly departing his lips from yours a smile growing, whispering “you should wear it more”

That night, you ordered the exact lip balm and maybe a million more with it.

He couldn't believe that you still stayed with him, after everything that has happened, he for sure thought that you would leave him. Yet, here you are, asleep in his arms, wearing his shirt, and wearing the little M necklace that he gave you.

Mick didn't want to get up from bed, he didn't care if his dad sent in Sebastian or even his mother, he was not leaving this bed where you slept so peacefully. You whine in your sleep and he freezes, stilling his breath as if breathing would wake you. You settle back down, burying your nose in his neck.

He hated that he had to lie to you about who he was, but he thought he was doing the right thing. By protecting you, yet it did the opposite thing and he hated it. You two were still in a rough patch, but it was moments like these had him thinking everything would be okay.

"I can hear you thinking." Mick sighs, body relaxing as he rolls over half on top of you. "I'm sorry, did I wake you?" You giggle and take a deep breath, surrounded by the pine and scotch scent you love so much. "No," You whisper and sit up, propping yourself up on your elbows. "I love you," He can't help but whisper, a blush covering your cheeks.

Smiling he brushes your cheeks with the back of his hand. "Let's go away," You breath, and Mick smiles sadly. "We can't, not yet. But when we leave, we'll never look back. We can go anywhere you want." He whispers, brushing his lips over yours.

"I don't care where we go Micky, I just want you there." Mick smiles, moving his hand to play with the necklace. "I want you there too."

warnings: mentions of cheating, angst to comfort, the ending is rushed im sorry.

NOTE: first mick fic ever… kinda nervous, kinda excited about it. also hope i did your idea justice, i actually struggled to write sad mick bc he should never be sad as far as i’m concerned😭 that is my golden boy and i will fight for him if needed. (this is like 800 words longer than intended it to)

Tabloids always lied. You knew this, yet there was a small part of you that knew that beneath all those lies a little bit of the truth always shone from beneath them.

You trusted Mick with your whole heart, something that was essential considering he could be gone for several weeks or even months. It wasn’t that you lacked trust in him, you didn’t trust your own overthinking and negative thoughts.

But this time was different, something in your gut told you that this time was different. Something about the way the photo was taken and the way he was smiling, it just didn't make sense. Especially knowing he had told he had no plans of going out. But there he was, smiling down at a girl who looked nothing like you while you waited for him to come back from working abroad.

Suddenly, all the emotions and excitement you had about him coming home turned into pure dread as you figured out what the hell you were going to do. There was a chance that Mick didn’t cheat on you, but the chance felt too foreign for your broken heart to even consider. If Mick was the man you thought he was, he wasn’t someone who would betray you like that, but the situation was too bad to think straight.

It was late at night when your boyfriend arrived, you heard the door open and close all while clutching your pillow tightly. You hoped he would just see your form and assume you’re asleep, leaving you and your thoughts alone. You hoped he wouldn’t take notice of the tears that damped the pillow, the way your breath stuttered a little from all the crying.

The rustle from his bags didn’t stir you. He didn’t call your name like he usually did when he arrived home late from a weeks-long trip. You assumed he didn’t call for you because he saw your “sleeping” form and chose to leave you alone, probably because he knew how much you loved to sleep and knew better than to wake you up.

After a while, the bed dipped as Mick made himself comfortable beneath the bed sheets. He settled next to you, moving around as he draped an arm around your waist. For a moment you relaxed slightly from his touch, like all the worries in the world could be erased simply because he touched you. In all honesty, his absence has made you slightly touch-starved and you let yourself have this moment of peace because you had craved it for weeks. It didn’t take long for reality to settle in though. The reminder of his actions haunted you, it had since you saw the tabloid just mere hours ago.

You fell eventually asleep, albeit late and with a struggle. The heat of Mick’s body had killed you to sleep and the tiredness of being sad had your body calling it a night.

Waking up wasn’t easy. You wanted to pretend the day before had occurred, and in your head if you were asleep forever then you didn’t have to confront whatever happened. A part of you knew that if Mick didn’t do what the article suggested he did, then your relationship could either go on like it was or it would never be the same. You knew yourself, you knew that a small part of you would always have the nagging thought of “what if”, a thought that would follow you around forever.

You stretched as you got out of bed, feeling your boyfriend's sleeping form not shift in the slightest. You brushed your teeth and did your morning routine like usual, just this time with a terrible feeling at the pit of your stomach.

It wasn’t long after that Mick woke up, his eyes tired and his blonde hair a mess. You had your back turned to him as you prepared breakfast, this time instead of making it for the both of you, you just did two toasts and a glass of juice for yourself.

“Hey, how are you?” He said, his voice raspy from just waking up. You just took a bite of your toast and ignored his words, almost acting as if he wasn’t standing near you.

If Mick found your acting strange, he didn’t outright mention it. Instead, he leaned down and went to press a kiss to your lips, just for you to turn your head sideways as you pretended to grab the glass of juice. His lips met your cheek, and while he would never complain about how he kissed you, Mick had been longing to kiss you ever since he left you. It was something he always looked forward to doing whenever he had to leave for long periods of time, or even short ones.

“I missed you.” His voice is unsure now. Unsure about your actions and if you will respond to him. Your humming to his words does little to console the feeling he gets from you ignoring him.

You place the used dishware in the sink, the clattering of the plates disturbs the uncomfortable silence that surrounds you both.

Usually Mick knows how to keep his negative emotions in check pretty well. He never shouts when he’s mad, or cries when he’s upset, he just tries his best to talk out whatever is happening. But right now, having his girlfriend avoid him when he’s come back from an exhausting trip, is just too much for him to comprehend.

You haven’t even done much to get him teary-eyed, it’s just the simple fact that he craves your attention and you’re not giving it to him. He doesn’t even know why you can’t be bothered to give him the time of day, or why you seem so uncomfortable around him.

“Why are you avoiding me?” Mick asks you after some time goes by, watching as you do everything around the room except look at him. Something in you cracks at the way his voice breaks while asking the question, you know that if you look up at him and see his glossy eyes you will crumble under them. You will throw any anger you have towards him out the window, and as much as you want to, you need more than that to forgive or even forget whatever happened.

“I don’t know, you tell me.” “If I knew why you were avoiding me I wouldn’t be asking.”

“What were you doing Thursday night?” His face is one of confusion, his brows furrowing and nose slightly scrunching up as he assesses your question.

“What?”

“What were you doing Thursday night?” You repeat, this time your voice cracks as you ask him the one question you dread to hear the answer from.

“I worked at the factory till late at night.”

“That’s all? So, you didn’t go out at all?”

Mick’s face is one of pure frustration. Frustration because he can’t believe how oblivious he had been to your feelings, how he went out and you didn’t mention anything about it. Frustration because he should’ve known that the media would get to him and by relation, in between the two of you.

“I did.” He admits, “But it was with a couple of friends, whatever it is that you saw is not what it looks like. I swear.”

“You just coincidentally had a girl all up on you, and you just smiled down at her?”

“I seriously don’t know what you’re talking about, Y/N. I wished I could say I did, but honestly, if there was a girl next to me I can assure you I wasn’t smiling because of her or to her, for that matter.”

An unshed tear falls down his cheek at the assumption you're making. The notion that you would ever think he would be unfaithful to you breaks his heart into a million little pieces, like he knows yours did the moment the idea that he cheated on you settled in.

“I’m so sorry if I ever made you feel like I would cheat on you.” Mick approaches you slowly, wary of the way you might react. He doesn't think he would bear it if you pulled away from his touch, but he would understand. “But I would never ever do that. I need you to know that.”

When your boyfriend finally reaches you, you can't help but lean into his touch. The hug he gives you is almost crushing, likes he's scared you will run away from him at any given moment. It is just as comforting as it is devastating the way he is holding you, a part of you is grateful that he is so honest and raw with you, but there is a part of you that cant help and question if his words hold any truth, if he is not like many of the other men you've known through the course of your life.

“I want to believe you.” You whisper against him, “I really do, Mick.”

His chin is pressed to the top of your head and you feel him shift to press a kiss to your forehead.

“I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you if I have to, schatz, and that's a promise.” There is something about the way he says that, something about the sincerity his words hold that makes you believe him. It wipes away the worries you had and replaces them with pure love, in your heart of hearts you know that Mick would never intentionally hurt you, and if he could help it, ever.

You know just by his words that you’ll be alright.

No matter the tabloids or the drama that follows you, you'll be alright.
