The fire crackled as it nestled among fine masonry and wrought iron. Its soft yellow-orange glow bathed the lounge and everything that resided there in warm hues. Vaude traced a gloved finger around the rim of the crystal tumbler he held onto for dear life. He stared at the graceful calligraphy-styled "M" that was etched on the side in gold, praying that this was all a bad dream. He tore his gaze from it after another moment of silence ticked by. His eyes settled on the tall, slender man before him, a man he loved unconditionally for years.
Midas side-eyed Vaude as he felt the smaller man's stare bore into him. He cleared his throat and turned his attention back to the fire. He idly took another sip from his crystal tumbler, one that matched Vaude's in every way.
Vaude continued to stare at Midas, watching the way the fire's light danced across his sharp features and gave his pale skin an ethereal quality. Even the way the orange parts were reflected in the man's golden hands was mesmerizing. He would have called the golden man that stood there, with his back now slightly turned away, handsome, godly even. Vaude swigged the last of his drink down in an attempt to stifle his mounting anxiety. After a few deep breaths, he broke the silence.
"How long has it been since you fell out of love?"
Vaude gripped the tumbler tighter. The leather of his glove creaked, threatening to split at the well-worn seams.
open: anyone
plot: an event or resort that midas attends/is vacationing at and where your muse works (caterer, cleaner, receptionist, …). honestly, anything you can see work is fine!
muse: midas vaughn (24, human, socialite/student, bi)
tw: midas is an addict
Midas stepped onto the balcony and let the heavy door fall closed behind him, scoffing at the stranger telling him this part of the venue ‘wasn’t for guests’. Not a lot of places were truly off-limits when your last name was Vaughn. Plus, if he had to stay inside another five minutes without the relief of a smoke, he’d lose his mind.
Still not bothering to look at the other, he reached into the breast pocket of his deep pink suit and pulled out his silver cigarette case, easily maneuvering a cigarette between his teeth and then patting himself down – only to realize then that his lighter was probably still in his coat inside.
“I won’t tell if you won’t,” he finally said to the other once he’d taken out a second cigarette and offered it to them.
I sincerily hope that someone somewhere in MIDAS has pet cats based off the two warriors sexymen (ashfur and scourge. i kid you not those two had a CHOKEHOLD on the fandom at one point in time) soley because it is extremely funny
In today's news: I got busy with a new job and autistically forgot this blog existed—ANYWAYS!
All the dms were kinda discussing this concept for a while because on one hand, a tumblr sexyman cat would be very funny.
On the other hand, though, the roleplay is going to be heavily dabbling in human experimentation, questionable scientific and medical morals and ethics, and a bit of a hands-on delve into what makes us, yknow, us.
So the best we could do is name a cat after them, but I know I particularly find animal experimentation rather unsightly, but now I REALLY wanna name a lab cat Scourge or some thing lmaooo
I remembered that human-like robots are canonically like a thing in Layton so eventually, Ami gets a physical body again, made of steel and silicon rather than carbon.
I imagine it works similarly to the robots of St. Mystere, though less effective considering it wasn't made by Bruno. It can only function for a few hours before running out of power, so Ami still spends most of her time in her computer, but this is certainly an improvement.
