Eddie Redmayne’s neckwear stood out as he rocked the red carpet Sunday at the Mill Valley Film Festival north of San Francisco. It’s his latest stop on The Good Nurse promotional tour in advance of the film’s theatrical release Wednesday and streaming launch on Netflix on Oct. 26. Eddie’s last time at the festival, he was enroute to an awards sweep at the Golden Globes, SAG Awards, BAFTAs and Oscars.

Uncle Frank is a 2020 film written and directed by Alan Ball.

Beth Bledsoe is a teenager who lives in South Carolina, very close to her uncle Frank, as he is more refined and caring than the rest of her family; the girl notices that her other relatives, especially her grandfather Mac, are hostile towards Frank, but she doesn't understand why.

The film was presented at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival on January 25 and distributed on Prime Video starting November 26, 2020.

The dubbing was performed at the Dream&Dream studio in Milan, under the direction of Marcello Cortese.

As Indigenous woman filmmakers, we knew that our path through the industry would be narrow and that our film, Fancy Dance, would have a small window for success based on the abysmal record of representation for Indigenous folx in Hollywood. As such, we channeled our collective wills as granddaughters of Dust Bowl survivors, descendants of genocide and avowed followers of the indomitable Merata Mita to give this film the best shot possible. If there existed a “how to make a successful movie in Hollywood” checklist, we followed it to a tee. Step one: Create a compelling script (after her sister’s disappearance, a hustler kidnaps her niece from the child’s white grandparents and takes her to the state powwow in hopes of keeping what’s left of her family intact) – check. Step two: Find top-tier producing partners (Nina Yang Bongiovi, Tommy Oliver) – check. Step three: Cast amazing actors at the top of their field (soon-to-be Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone) – check. Step four: Premiere and screen at world-renowned festivals (Sundance, SXSW, BFI London) – check. Step five: Receive excellent reviews (THR called it “exceptional”) and festival prizes (Hamptons, L.A. Outfest, Mill Valley, NewFest, Sun Valley, Tacoma) – check. Step six: Get a distribution deal – …crickets.

Eddie Redmayne will be bringing The Good Nurse to the Mill Valley Film Festival Oct. 16, appearing along with director Tobias Lindholm and co-star Nnamdi Asomugha. The small but select festival is located across the Golden Gate Bridge north of San Francisco in Marin County, California. Eddie appeared at the festival in 2014, showing The Theory of Everything — which earned him an Oscar the following February.

Hey Daisy, just wanted to let your followers know that My Policeman is showing at the Mill Valley Film Festival in Northern California October! If any of you live in the SF Bay Area. However, it’s not in Mill Valley, since the festival shows all over Marin County. This showing is at the Rafael and the theater is pretty big, if they managed to get the main hall! Good chance you’ll be able to grab a ticket. I have shown films there during the MVFF in the past and the audience is predominantly older and wealthy so it might not be overrun by Harries, haha. Thanks for being so incredibly organized and informative on your blog! You are a true gem.
