Background Info: 

Azrael grew up as an orphan, but he doesn’t know who his real parents are or what happened with them, since the people at the church didn’t want to tell him. He just assumes that he was abandoned as a little baby and was brought to the church.

Around the same time another baby, which parents were killed arrived at the church and grew up with him.

His name was Jae and soon it was discoverd, that he was a dual-elemental, in fact a pretty decent and strong one, but because of the bad image of some guilds, the church and everyone else surrounding them kept his magical powers secret.

At one time, when both of them were around 4 or 5 years old, they played with each other and Jae accidentally hurt Azrael at his left arm, which resolved into a big scar.

But eventually the  Novune Forces found out that Jae was a duel-elemental and tried to recruit him.

Jae was always into guilds and wanted to train his elemental powers, despite the risks.

Since the church was in charge of Jae they agreed to let him train under the  Novune Forces, but they didn’t want to give him over directly because they heard bad rumors.

As time progressed and Jae was going to the training, Azrael soon noticed a change in Jae, as he grew not only stronger but also more emotionless und colder.

Jae started to avoid everyone at the church, also Azrael as well and stayed even longer periods at the  Novune Forces.

Azrael couldn’t stand the thought of losing his friends, so he attempted to escape with Jae, but he couldn’t convice him, because the Forces already brainwashed(?) him into Loyalty. 

Only few days after that accident, where Jae also almost hurt Azrael, even though he promised the first time he hurt Azrael that he will never play with his elemental powers again, the Novune Forces took him away with them, despite the protest of the church.

But since they had a bigger influence they couldn’t do anything about it.

Azrael never saw Jae ever after that again.

As he turned 18 and could go off on his own, he decided to travel the world, so he could search for Jae.

In the 5 years of absence of Jae he grew bitter and hated the Forces for what they have done to his childhood friend.

Despite that, he always blamed himself for not realising the situation sooner and not being able to stop Jae from going.

He especially regrets pushing him too much that day.

During his travels he learns fighting with a sword from an older man.

He also encounters Hiro during his travels and is stunned by how he behaves, despite, that he was a weapon for the forces. 

Azrael always believed, that the children recruited for the forces are emotionless and cold and that they can’t smile, so he’s amazed that Hiro overcame that and that there is a chance, that also Jae could turn that way again.

He probably meets him, when Hiro matured up already a lot. 

Azrael sees in Hiro his childhood friend and how he could have turned, if he wouldn’t have been taken by the forces and if he would been more careful and supporting. 

He kinda has a brotherly instinct for him, despite knowing that Hiro can protect himself, due to his training. 

I feel like they would talk a lot and would connect.

Azrael would also talk to Hiro, about himself wanting to refund the guilds, so things like that won’t happen again. 

He would also ask him, if he knows about Jae, but either Hiro wouldn’t know about him/only had a clue/or he had to confess that he was already killed in a battle. 

Azrael aim is also to help people who suffered from the war and bad guilds.

I also don‘t know how close he and Hiro would get, but I think, he would help him mature and realize, that he likes oliva. 

Maybe he would help him, when he has panic attacks (i don‘t know if hiro has some, but i assume it, because of his traumatic experiences) 

At the end when Hiro and his friend are going away, mabye he would continue searching for Jae or he would join them in hope to find Jae through their adventures.
