It's a hilarious expression and definitely an underrated one kjshdfjgkghf Like we've seen him smiling plenty of times before this, with that classic evil grin we all know and love, so something about this panel is so funny to me, like if it wasn't for the hollow look in his eyes he'd look almost mischievous here and I love that. He's up to no good and he knows it dsjkfhgshdfghkdjf

IDK if I have a favorite expression from Crocodile, typically my favorites are just the really meme'able, funny expressions and this man does not have any of those to offer (which is fine really), and really every panel he appears in during Impel Down + Marineford are fantastic, Oda kept us so well-fed

I think I'll give a shout-out to this panel though, because while I think this man was already irreversibly changing my brain chemistry (while I was falling down the Crocodad Rabbithole and re-reading Marineford obsessively), I think this is the panel that finally kind of broke me

This was one of those rare moments I realized someone seemed to genuinely be on Nefarious’ side. Everyone else could be flakey, but Lawrence was the only one who stepped in to save Nef when he needed help and I just think about it a lot ok

#doing this before i bake cake #but like basically early space travel allowed humans to expand to new frontiers #but as was the 1900s things were not to good earth was a planet made to manufacture and produce while other planets would take in imports #earth was pretty polluted and thus evacuated #meaning that humanity had converted to a lively world of colour to orbiting ships #depending on your class status you could transfer from ship colonies or even moon colonies but it was unlikely unless you got rich quick #people had to work day in day out to provide fuel and resources for moon colonies #the higher ups on colonies were usually fucked over by hostile alien species #or you had to join the company because you cant make enough to eat in either #depending on what moon the ship orbits you call it your mothermoon #and my normal lethal ocs like benji are from ship colonies that had specific characteristics (thats why hes so horribly adjusted to aliens) #as compared to Big Joke who before was from a moon colony and had to work as a sort of candidate of greater good

What a perspective!

I'll say this: Older Michael has the weight of the world on his shoulders and his alone. At least, in his side of the timeline. He is the only god left on the planet, and the youngest one of them all mind you! He's very stressed, and has a small window of time to fix everything and realign the timeline before the world is beyond repair-- and he can only communicate with the other timeline in brief brief moments in time. He has no time to be playful or friendly, only to relay very important information.

Whether he's mean, manipulative, or whatever you want to think of him as, that's up for your debate. He's just trying to save his world.

Favourite Crocodile ship and non-Crocodile ship?

Nami/Vivi. 10/10, iconic, timeless, absolutely perfect, it's been over 20 years since we've seen those two together and the ship still sails on. Make it canon Oda, Nami deserves to be pampered by her wealthy wife and live like the royalty she is 👏

I am a sucker for CrocHawk. Just. It just sparks joy for me. Like I've mentioned this before but I generally speaking tend to like ships where the characters seem to at least tolerate each other, and while we've seen the two interact VERY VERY LITTLE SO FAR, it's like. I think there's so much potential for a really interesting character dynamic there, and a really wonderful ship as a result of it. This can change though if/when we see the two interact more and figure out how much the two actually tolerate each other. Like if they start openly hating on each other then I might lose interest in the ship entirely. But for now, I'm super into it, and I'll always have CrocDaz to fall back on

Watched B-Mask's video essays on the Sly games trilogy for the millionth time (you should watch them too btw) and I can't stop thinking of the similarities between Vol. 3 and Honor Among Thieves specifically in both dealing with the characters having to decide what comes next in their lives seperate from each other because they just can't do the same job forever, but what the Sly games do that the GotG films don't is build up to that being a main plot point from the second game up to the ending of the third. Vol. 3 really makes the odd choice to have that become a background plot point and then expects the audience to just be okay with them all suddenly deciding to part ways within ten minutes at the very end.

I can't stress this enough, but my problem isn't that everyone goes to do their own thing. My problem is that suddenly being the end goal of Vol. 3 after two films + a holiday special where that was never a possibility or a problem in the first place. The only reason everyone stopped progressing (and even then mainly just Rocket and Peter. You can say Mantis got held back but even she had character development to realize what she wanted during her time with them so she wasn't literally held back like she was with Ego) was because both of their lives only came to a screeching halt after what happened outside of the core films (IW+EG) But the film itself didn't even bother to address any of that stuff aside from only Peter being depressed about Gamora. So it comes off rather moot to me, personally.
