You know The Sandman series tells us that any story that goes on long enough eventually ends in death... But since the Endless siblings can't technically fully die until there's no longer any living thing left to Dream, Desire, Despair etc etc I think a far funnier finish to that story would be the entire universe ending, except for Hob Gadling who is stubbornly floating around in the void refusing to die because "Guys, I really want to see what the next universe looks like 😃". Meanwhile the seven Endless are all just stuck eternally bickering inside his head.

Another brilliant one- cyclonus treats tailgate like utter shit initially. Y'all excuse the shitty way he treated tailgate too, just because they're cute together and canon. Do I love them together? Yes! Do I think a lot of bots in the franchise become marginally less fucked up together? Absolutely! Am I also one of maybe three people I've ever seen talk about what cyclonus did, even briefly? It’s almost as though the tag title begins with “anti-” as a warning that those posting under that tag don’t in fact like that particular character(s) or ship(s) since they felt the need to tag it “anti-.” So I’m not sure as to why Team Black and Team Green stans get upset when they knowingly venture into these tags only to then argue with those in the comments (who agree with the post) about how their opinion is wrong. Those who after knowing that the post was not going to be talking about their favorite character(s) or ship(s) in any positive light proceed to view the post. That would be like if I already having previous knowledge of how a particular blogger felt about Sansa Stark went to their blog and viewed all the Sansa Stark related things they have posted and proceeded to become upset about what they were saying about Sansa Stark. I simply would not do that. Nor would I go through the tag "anti-Sansa Stark" instead I'd go through the "pro-Sansa Stark (just as their is a “anti-” tag their is also a “pro-” tag. In the “pro-” tag you’ll find others who like both the character(s) and ship(s) you like). Especially since said blogger has already addressed several times why they don’t like that particular character(s) or ship(s). That being said it is not that difficult to avoid things that speak in a negative light about the things you enjoy. You yourself would be a lot happier and the fandom wouldn't be so “aggressive”.

Admittedly some people aren’t tagging things properly(the Nettles tag is a mess specifically for this reason)/don’t have tags blocked/don’t block or unfollow blogs they disagree etc., but yes, it’s easy enough to filter through what you don’t want to see(on here at least).

not to hate on anyone who has said this but i am slightly offended at the idea that destiel and byler (or the shippers and their experiences) are not comparable or similiar.

while its true that destiel was not intentional from the start, it has been confirmed by writers, producers, and actors that it was known, acknowledged, talked about, and invested in, even on set. much like byler.

unfortunately the biggest problem lies with the CW, where spn was hosted. they fuck heavy with censorship and homophobia. around s12 they did a survey to test the idea of dean being gay, bi, and with cas (because god forbid there be a gay person). for whatever reason ($ and hatred, prolly) they, the cw, decided deans sexuality was not going to be explored in detail after the surveys.

yet we still got a love confession from cas as early as s12. and in the very same season dean talked about how his dad won his mother over (aka his ideal for love), it is revealed that dean made a mixtape for cas. just like his dad did for his mom. that very same episode is played out exactly like a scorned lover after cas betrays dean. dean says, "he came into my room and played me"

and you dont get this cinematic of a shot for platonic besties. js

and yes, while there is a large portion of the general audience that still doesnt see the clear markings of deans (mikes) sexuality and reciprocated romantic love; the many that enjoy media analysis and follow literary cues see it has been clear for awhile. even with all of the effort the cw used to try and indicate otherwise.

now i dont think netflix and the duffer brothers are giving us the same circumstances. which is great and im so glad we are living in a slightly better situation rn, but give respect where its due. destiel is not a crack ship and it wasnt even as subtextual as johnlock, no hate to johnlock. but destiel is more and has been for awhile. misha, jensen, and richard speight gave us the symbol of cas' devotion and deans salvation(see below) just as noah and other cast members have been coming out as byler shippers.

we've all been called many disgusting awful things for shipping destiel and most of them have indeed been rooted in homophobia. but mostly we were called delusional. delusional for loving this silly little ship that provides satisfying character development and analyzing the scenes, scripts, and anything we can get our hands on. and of course, delusional for finding comfort in these characters that we can see ourselves in. sound familiar bylers???

tldr; destiel and byler are pretty similiar. destiel is in fact contextual, subtextual, real and canon, just like byler will be. the main difference is the better world we live in, with less hatred and more love for explicit queer representation. where the company producing the show is actually not as homophobic (arguably at least censorship and queerbaiting isnt their thing)
