i accidentally landed on hockeytok and have been watching people sexualize kraken players (specifically alex wennberg and vince dunn) and there are specific booktok content creators who have been ... very vocal in their sexualization on players. and now that wenny's wife has spoken up about it people on booktok are mad and saying that wenny's popularity is because of booktok (as if he wasn't a first round pick, hasn't been a hockey player for years, etc) and are mad at the seattle kraken team for being "ungrateful" to booktok and are just mad that felicia called them out and it's just this like, overarching entitlement and disrespect for people's boundaries and it's not just like, with hockeytok, obviously, i think tiktok and social media has really skewed how people think about other people/boundaries, especially people in the public eye (or even like, regular people, like there's no reason we should be filming strangers like that without their consent and posting it on tiktok etc). it's just like ... i think all of this is just so fucked up and we should think about people's boundaries and consent.

no offence to people who genuinely enjoyed james somerton and feel cheated but you could kind of tell he didnt give a shit about anything he ever said. there was no passion or personable anecdotes in anything he ever made, and the fact he was constantly posting videos was crazy. like if you watch your more popular video essayists theyre always coming from a point of 1) education in a field 2) passion in a subject and 3) being open about themselves

like , this man hopped on the video essay train because of the popularity of his peers and just tokened himself into "the gay video essayist" as if so many other people werent already doing that? and the lack of care for intersectionality was obvious. i stopped ever watching him after he took it personally that some marvel show was about black exploitation in america and not about two men kissing each other, cuz it became abundantly clear that was the only experience he gave a shit about (his own)

Because this is my diary about the media I intake I will share: that for the last week and a half I’ve been reading the ACOTAR series, and yall, it’s fun.

There’s one book to go and I am having a good time. What did you do to your ankle??

it's really just an exacerbated injury!!! the downsides of having a body that's crumbling apart, and also being incredibly injury prone and very clumsy 🫠 to answer your question, i went out to eat on friday, and the person who was holding the door thought i was inside and let go of the door but i was ... not inside and it hit my ankle in a very unfortunate spot! the minute it happened i kind of knew it was not going to be fun for a while and would be very bruised and swollen but that's okay!! when i was out of town in may, i did not take it easy after injuring my ankle and it made made recovery time a lot longer so i'm trying to do a better job of taking it easy this time so i can be all good for eras tour this weekend but ... i am not very good at taking it easy. i was also very stupid and spent my entire weekend deep cleaning and running errands and did not take it easy in the slightest but for the next four days i will take it easy.
