Writing Prompt Exercise: There is something rotting in our home. I smell it when no one else can. Acrid and alluring. It makes me sick, and at the same time terribly hungry

The odor wasn’t one that was common to the area.

It also wasn’t making Tol physically hungry. More like intellectually hungry.

“Moma’d say I was born that way. Born curious. Like the luck cats that wind around the barrier trees on the Beggar’s Battle” she muttered opening the keeper and drawing out a frosted stone bottle dewy with condensation. Tol checked the ice block nestled above the trays in a bed of dampening straw. Still over two-thirds of what it had been at the beginning of the week. Straw might need changing. She’d remind Dapel.

“Owned by none, beholden to no one, and free as a cat-a-wolf. That’s our Tol. “Her mouth twitched at the corner as she voiced the memory, and manipulated the top, pulling the spring arm out of position and letting the cork pop off from the force of the carbonation.

She pressed her hip against the cold shelf, lifted up her tunic in the back and luxuriated in the chill making her skin sport bumps. Then she took a drink right from the bottle because, no one was home. Her wings shivered and she continued to hold them up high over head.

She swished a mouthful of the tonic over her tongue, puffed out her cheeks, and then slowly swallowed the liquid. Sweet and tart at the same time with the faint after tasted of conifer tree leaf, it was what she needed to get the flavor of the Hold out of her mouth. The air there seemed to be perfumed with pheromones and summons to the point that even when she was home, she could taste it.

She inhaled slowly. The sickly alluring scent remained, but it wasn’t as strong. “Maybe I need to put in for a transfer” she said and then hiccuped. Tol flicked a look at the time piece over the doorway, the water level was well below the afternoon marking and edging into the evening. “And it’s my turn to make supper.” She sighed and then capped the bottle, returned it to the keeper and shut the gloriously chilly door. “Right, let’s see other than that smell, what I can find.” She slapped the door release on the wall and jumped upward, wings flashing out and the too-dry-too-hot air. In a lazy wheel she circled the “upside down ship hull” shape of the house and then flipped vertical between her wings, landing with a thud that made her feet tingle within her boots.

Against the rearmost part of the building the sun-bleached boards of the cellar door lay silver-white against the darker tan of the stone-and-daub cellar. “Still can’t believe how much it cost to have this repaired last fall” Tol muttered “Probably were over-charged. But Appa’s away with the fleet so much and Moma’s half the time down with the Healers Court and now I’m working at the Well, there’s just no way to do everything. And Haaf doesn’t need one more thing to worry over.” She began to unknot the cords holding the cellar door shut and stopped. The aroma here was definitely stronger than inside the kitchen. And, her gaze narrowed, the rope had been only halfway fed through one set of loop holders. Her hearts kicked up their rhythm and she dropped her left hand to her ki-lae.

“Who’s here?”

KOREAN BIG MINION

constantly teases joong with his height

joong keeps teasing him with his constant squinting

feeds into joong’s minion fascination and always buys anything minion tae sees

tae always calls him ‘appa’ and proves his point as joong is always having to drag him home from the studio

‘yah, enough with composing. the computer is making your eyesight worse’

calls joong ‘leader-nim’ and pesters him to death

‘leader-nim!’ ‘lEAdEr-Nim!’ ‘LEADER-NIM!’

‘wHAT tAESeoNg?!’

their long times in the studio made them really close and when tae gets into it, he GETS into IT

deep talks

the only person who can make tae open up

tae isnt emotional but tears up a little whenever joong reminds him that he’s always enough and completes ateez

‘min taeseong, im not talking to you as a leader, but as a brother. even when you think you’re dragging ateez down or lacking, you’re not. in fact, you always push us and you’re the glue that keeps us together. we are family and we never leave family behind.’

TOOTHLESS

tae always clings to hwa like a koala

calls him ‘eomma’

absolutely HATES tae’s smoking habits

‘YAH! MIN TAESEONG! if you’re going to smoke, do it away from the building!’

‘b-but, i’m in the,,,, balcony?’

‘get that AWAY FROM HERE, YOU HEAR?!’

helping hwa cook is tae and him’s bonding time

tae is constantly wowed by how handsome seonghwa is

favorite movie is How to Train Your Dragon because toothless looks like seonghwa

that one wave fancam of seonghwa?

tae has seen it millions of times

in their vlives, seonghwa is always seen patting tae’s head and runs his fingers through his hair

always the first one to notice that tae’s down and when he’s not talking, seonghwa tells joong immediately

‘taeseong-ie acts like he’s so cool and manly all the time but he’s actually the biggest softie i know.’

sat through the Harry Potter movies and Beauty and the Beast movies for Emma Watson

hates it when the makeup covers it because its precious and part of yeosang that’s being hidden from the world

they initially didnt get along since they both had kinda cold personalities but became close after that

tae loves to hear his voice and tae looks forward to the day that he gets more lines

yeosang tried to teach tae how to skate but tae just seems to never know how to balance

like seonghwa, tae gets so blown away with how beautiful yeosang is

tae tries not to stand between yeosang and seonghwa bc the amount of attractiveness and talent they radiate

‘we all have that but they just seem to radiate it more,, is it the increased handsomeness?’

tae always hugs him and stuff but cringes whenever yeosang so much as wraps an arm around his shoulders

‘seong is very weird. he loves to give affection but when its given back, he just has this face of discomfort. there’s no equality with him.’

HARRY POTTER STAN

harry potter fanboys

these two have Harry Potter marathons constantly

tae loves literature and books and finding someone else who likes harry potter in his group really made him happy

they’re the moodmakers of the group and are always hyper together

tae thinks mingi and yunho are the best dancers so he always tries his best to match to their level

both absolutely hate to wake up early and are by far the laziest members in the morning

poor san who has to wake them up and drag them out of bed

hides tae’s cigs and lighters and sometimes, throws them out

‘i swear i put it here. yunho, did you see it?’

*yunho shaking his head with an angelic innocent face*

tae’s not stupid tho so he knows it’s yunho throwing them out

ends up getting really angry w him and just,,,,

chaos

their room has a bunk and a twin bed and yunho sometimes steals tae’s bed and tae just letting him have it and sleep in the bottom bunk

kinda tiny so he loves wearing yunho’s sweaters

‘tae and I are very similar so we do the same things and share everything like our clothes and bed. he doesnt like it when another member does it but since we were classmates in school, he’s comfortable with me.’

when they first met, tae actually tried to distance himself from mingi

had this scary vibe and aura from him

but when mingi laughed and giggled after mingi made a sarcastic remark

it was over,,

tae used to love piggyback rides from him but stopped when he had a back problem

instead just constantly backhugs him

when they were in kq fellaz, tae always stayed behind w mingi to practice some more

tried to teach him english but gave up because mingi couldnt stop laughing at tae

as a fellow rapper, tae is constantly wowed with mingi and has this small smile whenever he raps

in australia, tae went with him to get medicine and wanted to help him badly but was too busy laughing

but tae does the same thing to him

while woo likes jimin, tae loves taehyung

the rare times that tae gets drunk, woo is the only one he listens to

took tae a while to actually get used to him

now, tae squishes his cheeks and just hugs him very tight

tae constantly buys him food the most out of the members bc jongho is a growing boy

we been knew that jongho just belts out some song and tae gets so startled all the time

it echoes throughout their dorm

can carry tae in one arm which terrifies his members more

tae cried when jongho graduated and was like a mom and filmed the whole thing and took pictures

hates affection which makes tae give him more affection

tae and seonghwa are his moms

oh tysm 💓💓 im rlly happy ppl rnt annoyed by my live blogging all the time 😭

I'm taking that as just atla bc I cant pick in the entire universe 😔 all the female character r just 💞💞 but I rlly love suki and katara 💖 they're both rlly caring trans girls <3 katara always wants to what's right and whenever she gets to be the kid she is w aang I'm 😔😌 shes also so so determined like when she battled pakku I lost my mind and shes the sole reason why the s1 end episodes r in my tol favourites in the whole show. and then suki is rlly funny and she can be so kind and gentle!! when she approached appa in the appa episode I had no choice but to love her forever 💗💗

trans jinora 😌 I'm not rlly a headcanon person but I have a few off the top of my head! I think she figured it out pretty early bc like. All of the role models in her life were trans. Her mom, her grandma, her aunt, etc. I think when she first came out she wasnt sure what to do with her hair because it wasnt very long so she went to pema and pema saw there was Just enough to do the little side bun she has and jinora loved it immediately and has stuck with it since :) I think Ikki helped her pick out her name and that if they ever get into joking fights Ikki will pull the, "well if u didnt have me who knows what kinda name u couldve ended up w!! I'm the best sibling ever shut up 😌" I refuse to acknowledge that the airbenders trade in their gliders for the air suits </3 and I think jinora does her glider up in the trans flag colours for pride and flies above whatever celebrations are coming. her pride glider ends up half covered in glitter after it was accidentally stored w ikkis pride glider but jinora let's it be n kinda likes the glitter - which is a slippery slope into her an kai wearing glitter highlighter. OH and I think one year for pride she gets a set of her spirit friends to follow her around but the ones she asks are pink, blue and white and they form the pride plag 😌
