I did it last year, I did it the year before that and here we are once again...the year is almost over and before we say goodbye to it let’s take a look back at some of the j2 moments 2021 gave us!
Things started off with the premiere of Jared’s new show Walker! And from the first interviews Jared let it be known he wanted Jensen by his side:

And of course Jensen couldn’t let his boy’s show premiere without showing some support on instagram!
March gave us the first con panel of 2021! It was in virtual form but that didn't stop the boys from being their usual selves making each other laugh, sharing stories and saying how much they missed each other. During the panel it was also revealed that Jensen was slated to direct episode 5 of Walker s1 but wasn't able to due to time conflict with The Boys:

When Jensen was announced to be voicing Batman in Batman: The Long Halloween Jared was so excited for him he tweeted his support twice in a row 🤗
Rob Benedict shared a throwback photo that had j2 looking cute in matching hoodies ❤
June was a rough month.
While we started off on a high note with Jared's comment on Jensen Soldier Boy suit reveal post:

Things took a turn near the end of the month when the spn prequel Jensen's company is producing was publically announced without Jared's knowledge of the project. It was a painful and confusing 24hrs, and it wasn't till months later that both boys provided some clarity on the situation.
But as Jared once said, when a relationship is tested is when you figure out if it's worth it or not. And for the boys their relationship was worth it and they weren't about to throw it away due to a misunderstanding.
They made up and they made it clear through the rest of the year that their bond is still strong
Sharing stories of moments they've had together. Revealing that they share a storage unit in Austin. Liking and commenting on each others insta posts. Jared posting a pic of him and Jensen when they wrapped up filming for spn with the caption emphasizing how much the relationships he built on the show still mean to him.
It'd be remiss not to mention Jensen's beautiful post for Jared's birthday and Jared's sweet response 🥰
October gave us the first in person con panel since the pandemic started. Scheduling conflicts due to a film Jensen was working on at the time meant we didn't get our traditional j2 Sunday. But we did get a gold panel on Saturday, something by the way, that happened at the boys request. They wanted to do a panel together even if it wasn't on Sunday so they asked for the schedule to be worked out so they could still do their joint panel.
It was a moment of great joy to see the boys side by side again; highlights of the panel include Jared fangirling over Jensen in a cowboy hat, Jensen helping Jared fix his mic stand and a j2 hug💕

NCcon gave us the boys being supportive, flirty, and praising each other:

And Nolacon surprised all of us when it was revealed that Jensen had not directed episode 7 of Walker's second season as had been announced he would do back in September. Instead we have something to look forward to in February as that's when Jensen's new episode is slated to be filmed. Jensen seems excited at the prospect of getting back on set with Jared especially since they may be able to spend his birthday together 💞

Nashcon was our last con of the year, and it was a high note giving us cute, domestic!husbands in both the Gold and Main panel. Some of the highlights include Jared excitedly showing off his new shirt which Jensen gifted him, praising Jensen and expressing his excitment to work with him again and being cute with each other 🥰

I debated making this post, and I also highly debated whether or not to include the events of June. But I decided to do so because while the purpose of these posts are to be uplifting I also want them to be accurate. I'm also aware that there are people who know about what happened with the prequel but don't know that they boys made up and everything that came afterwards so my hope is that if someone who only knows part of the story comes across this post that they'll be able to see that no the boys didn't fall out or break up like some try to paint it.
2021 had its ups and downs, and for a while there we went through a dark patch where it felt like we were never gonna see light again which is why I decided to create this post again this year. I feel like the reminder is needed that it wasn't all doom and gloom! We actually got some great content this year both before and after the prequel debacle. It can be easy for it to get lost in the day to day and feel like it's so little but then you see it all laid out together like this.
To my fellow hats and j2 fans, I hope this post reminds you not only of the beautiful relationship j2 never stopped having - no matter how we felt on that dark June night - but also of their incredible bond.
2022 is set to be an exciting year for us: more Walker content, The Boys s3, Jensen directing Walker, and God willing con panels will be able to continue safely.
