Both halves of his broken staff are clutched tightly in either hand. His ears are pinned back. Blood gushes from the injury slicing across his chest, staining his suit an even darker shade of red, as well as trickling down from his mouth.

The sound of footsteps draws his attention, making the Radio Demon force his smile a little higher before he lifts his head to see who's approaching. He's assuming it's Adam, so before he even realizes who it really is, he speaks, the radio filter on his voice missing.

"If you're going to finish me off, at least show a little more class."

seen a lot of posts lately about ritsuka's age & how as time goes on it's become increasingly clear that they straight up don't even know how old they are anymore, on account of all the time travel and the world being ended and stuff, and... yeah. yeah.

for my muse i'll say they use annual things (valentine's day, halloween, christmas, etc) as rough markers of when it probably is but if you ask them the date? they have no fucking clue. what year is it? well, they think it's 2023, but a lot of chaldea's staff think it's still 2019. maybe they're both right--maybe it really has been 4 years, but only for chaldea, and when the world gets fixed everyone will just carry on with it being 2019 like nothing happened but now ritsuka is in her 20s despite being born in 2001.

maybe they have a calendar in their room, and they mark the days off, but who knows if they're really marking a single day for every individual day? and what about when they go into a singularity or lostbelt and time works differently? babylonia and faerie britain both stand out in that regard--they spent months in those places, only to return shortly after they left. does that time count???

tl;dr ritsuka has no clue what the passage of time even is anymore and uses rough markers of time to maintain a sense of normalcy

FROM WHOM??? The Broken Family Tree

“Hey Bro, how’s the organizin’ going?”

Piers is seated on the floor, surrounded by a flurry of papers and photos. He glances up at his little sister before sighing wearily, “S’alright, -lot of old junk if ya ask me.”

“Hmm maybe, but it’s junk that’s important to grandmum.” Marnie cautiously moves through the clutter of papers, tiptoeing around albums and old cardboard boxes used for storage. She squats down next to her brother, “I brought some tea, freshly made just for ya.” She offers a mug to him, which he gladly takes with a small thanks. Softly he blows on the steam before taking a sip of the bittersweet drink and quickly finishes it off.

“Thanks Mar.” he responds, handing the empty mug back to her.

“How long do ya think it’s gonna take?” The teen gently brushes some papers away and plops down next to her brother, Piers shrugs.

“Not sure, but ya can go home if ya like. No use stayin’ here if ya gonna be bored.”

“Nah I’m alright, Besides-” she glances around the seemingly tornado-stricken room, “Gram won’t be able to help ya clean all this…up…” her voice suddenly trails off as something catches her attention from the corner of her eye.

“S’wrong, Mar- having second guesses?” he smirks in a teasing manner, but when there’s no reply from his younger sibling, he looks up from his work, “Marnie-?”

“Who’s this?” 

A (clearly very) old photo is suddenly shoved into his face, he grumbles a bit before plucking the photograph from Marnie’s hand. Silently he studies it for a moment before humming inquisitively.

“Well Obviously that’s Grandmum Mara-” he points to a young woman on the right, “-And that’s…” Piers squints his eyes, before holding out the photo in front of him as if trying to get a better view of the whole picture, “-Well I don’t know actually. Kinda looks like dad, but not quite?”

Marnie cranes her head outward toward the picture curiously, when a noise of surprise escapes from her lips, “Piers there’s somethin’ on the bottom!” She points. His eyes scan downward and sure enough there is indeed writing, in faded black pen, scrawled onto the photo:

Atticus and Mara Astor

The sibling duo sat in questionable, puzzled silence, simply staring at the words as if they would jump out at them any second. Piers blinks several times as if the words would change, and provide more of an answer, with each subsequent blink.

“Who’s… Atticus?”

Piers pauses in consideration, “I think… he might be our Granpap?” he answers, in slight shock. Then, the sudden realization hits him like a freight train,  “-The one Grandmum never talks about. -It’s our dad’s dad!” he emphasizes, for both Marnie and his own waning skepticism. After glossing over the couple in the photograph for the umpteenth time, he decides to flip it over. 

His heart drops into the pit of his stomach, eyes widening with surprise. -There’s more information written on the back:

Married in Nimbasa, Unova - Oct. 1981

Another moment of silence washes over the room, before Piers suddenly jumps to his feet, jarring his sister slightly. With the photo clutched in one hand, he quickly turns back to Marnie, “I need to talk to Grandmum, right now. I’ll be right back, stay here.”

Marnie was understandably confused, but simply nods in quiet bemusement. Piers eyes her worriedly for a second before taking a deep breath. With that, he makes his way to his Grandmother’s bedroom for answers.

I am not solely a roleplay blog. However, this is a Roleplay Master Post that I'll be pinning for anyone seeking roleplay with me, so if you're here just to check out posts and roleplay isn't your thing, feel free to skip this!

This is a very literate, semi-selective, multi-OC, and multi-fandom blog. Romance (typically OCxCC) is my bread and butter but it's not all I can do—I love fluff, angst, trauma, comfort, character analysis, and a healthy dose of dark themes. Quality over quantity is my motto, planning instead of pantsing is my way of life, and Discord is my home base! Headcanons live in my brain rent-free 90% of the day.

Wanna overthink an animated show with fictional people and their fictional-but-painfully-realistic-and-relatable struggles? I've got 13+ years of experience!

I probably could've made independent blogs for each character or each fandom, but it felt easier to keep track of by making it a collective. I think I have a relatively small handful of characters compared to other OC creators, but don't quote me, lol.

However, many of the series I enjoy contain content others might find discomforting. Thus, I'll employ trigger warnings (typically tagged with "TW: insert trigger subject here") as I feel are needed in my posts. Also, this blog will likely contain spoilers about whatever series I post about, especially older ones like FullMetal Alchemist, Ouran High School Host Club, and Yu-Gi-Oh!, which are all over 20-year-old Manga/Anime.
