Kazimir "Kaz" Littlemoon
surface drow of Waterdeep - the halflings' son - ranger extraordinaire - the dread ambusher - the stag who fell in love with the bear - freckles
Meet him below...
Brief Backstory Kazimir was the third born son of Matron Mother Phaeravine of House Vrammith and her favored consort, Nalaxle. He was born in the summer of 1371 DR, the midst of the Peace of Lolth. A period of uncharacteristic nonviolence for Lolth followers, as the goddess declared a halt to all drow sacrifices. As such, Kazimir could not be killed at birth, as is customary of all third sons and beyond.
Yet Phaeravine, already humiliated at having born twin sons directly before Kazimir, had other plans. She abandoned him to die of exposure in the Underdark. Hoping that Lolth might not notice her disobedience and be convinced the infant's death was accidental.
Fortunately, an adventuring party happened beside the cave where the infant Kazimir lay hungry and crying. Among them, the halfling ranger Quindelline Littlemoon. She brought him home to her wife, Rosina, on the surface and they raised him as their beloved only son.
Kazimir was raised in a majority halfling village, Farwallow-upon-Dessarin, just outside Waterdeep and grew up going to the city regularly. His mothers had him confirmed into the Church of Eilistraee as a child to help protect him, in case any of his biological family came looking for him. They raised him to be kind, considerate, polite, and headstrong. All things drow men ought never to be to Menzoberranzan standards.
He grew up to be an adventurer for hire and fell in with many adventuring parties over the years prior to his kidnapping. And even found love in the form of Mysendra Moonheart, or Mystie as she's better known. The moon elf bard that played at Dagger's Rest, the tavern where Kazimir rents an apartment on the top floor. Even though their decade long open relationship was cut short by her father calling her back to the Dalelands to fulfill her betrothal and take over her family's estate, they remain lifelong best friends through regular letters.
He also found tragedy in his relationship with Joss Merryck, a half elf rogue whom he adventured with from time to time. Joss was a Zhentarim, though barely. He wished to be rid of his duties to the guild, but no one ever truly leaves. Though he found some reprieve in his time with Kazimir. Joss became Kazimir's first male lover when they could finally no longer hide their mutual feelings. But the relationship would end suddenly after two years, when Joss broke it off. He was found dead near Skullport not long after, killed by rival Xanathar Guild as an example to spies. He never told Kazimir that he'd been caught, lest the ranger try and foolishly save him. Kazimir still carries the silver locket Joss gave him on his birthday.
Kazimir was kidnapped by mindflayers somewhere around Amphail as he was travelling to a beast extermination job contracted by a minor Waterdhavian noble. Giant rats eating up their crops at night. He was likely taken around the same time as a certain famous wizard prodigy.
His first order of business upon waking up on the beach is getting a letter up to Waterdeep. He needs to tell Tess, the owner of Dagger's Rest, that he's alive and to assure his mothers of that fact. They're too elderly to a fright like that.

// drow dance party playlist //
So, since I just reblogged that post from @elminsters that mentioned that all drow enjoyers should shake ass to Revenge by Ministry, it got me thinking...what other slutty goth music would drow enjoy?
I also recall a post some time ago mentioning that drow would be the cybergoths of Faerun, which I'm inclined to agree with. So I added a healthy amount of industrial to the mix.
Anyways, here's the drow dance party playlist!
Warning: A lot of these songs are obscenely sexual or otherwise explicit. I dug through my Liked Songs considering what would be pumping out of a Menzoberranzan nightclub for this. I put the hardcore stuff nearer the bottom. For your listening pleasure, don't shuffle the mix or you'll get whiplash.
And even though Kazimir was raised on the surface, I chose to believe he still listens to this kind of music in my heart of hearts.

Hey so I think you have talked bits about Kazimir's opinion on Drizzt Do'urden but I'm curious about his overall thoughts about Drizzt (If you want if course)
My friend, I am so happy you asked!
So I have somewhat limited knowledge on Drizzt. I have yet to read the novels about him and plan to in the future. But I have fallen down several lore rabbit holes on him so hopefully it suffices.
Drizzt was born in 1297 DR, which makes him 74 years older than Kazimir. Drizzt was already out of the Underdark and doing hero things by 1371 DR when Kaz was born. As such, news about him definitely hit Waterdeep during Kaz's entire childhood and adolescence.
Since the people of Farwallow wanted Kaz to have a good role model like the other kids, Drizzt was perfect. Not only is he a drow hero, he's also a ranger just like Kazimir's mother, Quin. So he could relate very well to him and strive to be like him. The Church of Eilistraee, where Kaz frequented with his mothers so he could make friends with fellow drow, also knew of Drizzt and encouraged Kaz to aspire to a similar path.
In short, if they made posters of Drizzt for Kaz to put up in his room at his parents' house, he would've had several like any good teenage fanboy with his favorite celebrity.
When he was an adolescent, and started having romantic feelings for others, he didn't really acknowledge that he had the same feelings for other boys that he did for girls. Until he finally saw a depiction of Drizzt, this wicked cool drow hero whom he'd looked up to for years, and realized he's also unconscionably attractive. And his romantic feelings for men hit him like a ton of bricks. Hence, Drizzt being Kaz's bisexual awakening became canon.
He secretly wished around that time for Drizzt to come whisk him away for an adventure and teach him to be a gloom stalker. And then fall in love and live happily ever after, the end. Even though he knew Drizzt had Catti-brie, a literal wife, a young and naïve Kazimir could hope, right??
Now that Kazimir is a grown man, he mostly just holds immense respect for Drizzt and laughs whenever he's compared to him. Since Kaz definitely doesn't think he's anywhere near that cool.
However! That doesn't mean that Kaz wouldn't also internally lose his fucking mind if he met Drizzt in the flesh. Like I think he'd forget his own name for a few seconds. Then implicitly try to look cool in front of him.
In all honesty, I like to think Drizzt would treat Kazimir like a beloved little brother if they really got to know one another. They'd fight unbelievably well together and I think Drizzt would respect Kaz's skills with a bow. Which would make Kaz so happy he nearly faints.

Hi hi hello! From the wholesome questions
Imma start with two for Kaz first (I'll probably send a different ask for Angel)
2) Give them a warm drink of your choice, what would it be? Would their choice differ from yours?
11) What is an item of clothing/an accessory that completes them/makes them feel safe?
Hi Eli! So glad you asked!
2. I would give Kaz a strongly brewed black tea, since that’s his preferred hot drink. He picked it up from his mother, Quin, and it stuck with him. He makes it for himself every morning if able. His most favorite is smoky black tea, like Lapsang Souchong.
11. Kaz LOVES jewelry and has quite a collection. His mom, Rosina, is a jewelry maker and she made a lot of his favorites. So he’s gotta be wearing jewelry of some kind or he feels naked. Especially his facial piercings (left eyebrow, both nostrils, labret) and preferably some kind of dangly earrings. Rosina buffs the shine off of anything he wears adventuring, so it doesn’t affect his stealth.

Number 6 for Kazimir
Number 9 for Arcangelo
Kindly — @tavstavernofdisasterbisexuals
Thank you for asking!!
6. If they had a set of D&D dice, what would they look like? (for Kaz)
Tumblr media
One of the Etsy shops I buy dice from just released a "Ranger Danger" set and they are actually perfect 😭 I gotta save up a little monies and buy them to play Kaz with in D&D
9. If they had to be put in a "get along shirt" with a companion, who would it be? (for Angel)
As sad as I am to say it, since I love him, it'd probably be Gale. I firmly believe there's a wizard-bard rivalry much like the sorcerer-wizard rivalry. That wizards think bards are glorified street magicians, and bards think wizards are far too stuffy and up their own asses. I think that either Angel calls Gale a maidenless nerd, or Gale asks Angel if he can do any "real magic." The get-along shirt ensues (put on them by Withers).

Hi! I have come once more with Tav Asks:
Num 18 for Kazimir Num 5 for Arcangelo
— Kindly, @tavstavernofdisasterbisexuals
(I'm also working on some requests prior to Kazimir's, I can't await to draw him hihi)
Thank you for the asks, Eli! I'm also incredibly excited to see you draw Kaz and I've been on the look out for it 😝
18. what modern day tv show would they binge over a weekend? do they get their LI to watch with them? (for Kaz)
Kaz would be absolutely enthralled by River Monsters, and I think he and Halsin would watch it together.
I also think he'd watch the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy over a weekend, again with Halsin. And I think they'd make the themed LOTR food that some people make during a binge watching weekend.
5. what does their tent area look like? where do they prefer to pitch their tent (next to water, covered on three sides, etc)? (for Angel)
His tent is just like his room at home. Draped in various jewel-toned Calimshan tapestries, covered in velvet pillows and silk blankets, has a nice mirror for preening, at least one bottle of wine at arm's reach from his bedroll, and always has vanilla incense burning. Baby boy is a total slut for creature comforts, especially after a long day of adventuring. So he creates an absolute nest at camp.
He prefers to have camp nearest the fire so it's nice and warm, as well. He runs hot (101 degrees F internally) due to a D&D tiefling headcanon in the campaign I play him in so he's especially sensitive to cold.

Wait, what would happen if Angel and Kazimir met? (I don't remember seeing any post like that but I could have perfectly forgotten lmao)
I don't think I've ever posted about this before, so you're all good! 😝
I think Angel and Kaz would honestly be very very good friends, perhaps even lovers. Angel is chaotic good while Kaz straddles neutral-chaotic good, so they have similar moral backbones all things considered. So there really wouldn't be any butting of heads there.
Angel is admittedly more forward and willing to be abrasive than Kaz, but that's really nothing he wouldn't be equipped to work with. In my Curse of Strahd campaign where I play Kaz, he's in a party with some very big personalities and still just does fine around them. He just does a lot of the talking to keep them from getting killed outright (rough when you have a 10 charisma). Kaz is frank, but not abrasive unless you really get under his skin.
Meanwhile, Angel would find Kaz's confidence to move throughout the surface world as a drow incredibly admirable. Angel is immensely proud of being tiefling, but he's used to knowing many tieflings who aren't and feel ashamed when people act prejudiced towards them. Being a surface drow is rather similar, so to see this drow that is so full of goodness never let a racist comment get him down is just instant friendship material. Angel would be 1000% in Kaz's corner to put assholes in their place, and vice versa.
And the reason I say they could feasibly carry on a romantic relationship is I do think they'd have some mutual attraction to each other. Angel loves a little hero like Kaz, and Kaz is fascinated by Angel's air of sensuality. So, possible boyfriends.

The Ballad of Kazimir Littlemoon, Part 2: The Surface (1/2)
"That was your son from the minute you set eyes on him.”
Kazimir, or Kaz, Littlemoon is a Dungeons and Dragons character, and now a BG3 Tav, of mine. This is his story.
Contents: Menzoberranzan (1/2) Menzoberranzan (2/2)
The Surface (1/2) The Surface (2/2)
Waterdeep (1/2) Waterdeep (2/2)
CW: some mention of anti-drow and anti-tiefling sentiment
Quindelline Littlemoon was born in Farwallow-upon-Dessarin, a small suburb of Waterdeep nestled in a foothill. Not more than 500 people inhabited the village, composed mainly of Lightfoot halflings. Unlike their brethren in the city, they had decided a more idyllic landscape was suited to their sensibilities, so broke off many years ago to form the town.
From a young age, Quindelline, or Quin as she preferred, had the taste of adventurer in her heart. She longed to see this realm and others for all they had to offer. Her father, Milo, gifted her the first shortbow she ever fired for her 8th birthday. And it was love at first shot. The little halfling girl found herself at home in nature, on the hunt. Beaming with pride as she brought home rabbits and squirrels to her mother. And when she was finally given the opportunity to track a troublesome coyote that had been tormenting their livestock, she knew that being a ranger was her life’s calling.
Her calling brought her to the big city as a young adventurer, itching to get her feet wet on contracts and jobs. She scoured taverns for job listings, billing herself as a skilled ranger and tracker. Eventually finding herself ingratiated with the others much like her. Fortune and fame seekers, do gooders and devotees of gods she’d never even heard of. And steadily, she learned of the art of horizon walking from rangers far more skilled than she.
Horizon walkers specialized in banishing beings back to the realms they belonged to, and maybe even travel to these far off realms themselves. And it was clear that this conclave of rangers was for her. Her line of work brought her to the Feywild, the Underdark, and even Avernus on occasion. Guarding planar portals and befriending the benevolent forces of other realms to aid them in keeping the balance between worlds.
But many of those valiant exploits would come later in her life, when she truly made a name for herself not only as a ranger, but as a friend to many other great adventurers. And as the mother of one very special son.
For this story, we ought to begin in the summer of 1371. Quindelline had freshly turned 25 in the spring, and the festivities of a halfling wedding had just commenced in the heart of Farwallow. Her wedding, in fact. To a fellow young halfling by the name of Rosina Tulriner. Rosina was a halfling of unique background, the Tulriner name traditionally belonging to gnomes. And assuredly, in her ancestry there was gnomish blood. As such, they were magnificent tinkerers and designers by family business.
Rosina was a jewelry maker, having inherited the trade from her mother, Ida. And her father, Kellen, being a finesmith allowed her unfettered access to a forge to practice her craft from the time she could hold a pair of tongs. She originally hailed from Waterdeep proper, operating out of her family’s small basement shop in the North Ward. But she traveled with her mother every year to the surrounding areas to sell their wares and attend artist’s guild events. And one of their many stops was Farwallow-upon-Dessarin.
There she met Quindelline, and it was as close to love at first sight as any real relationship could be. They met each other every year as Rosina traveled with Ida and steadily their close friendship blossomed into love. Rosina was a gentle, even-keeled presence that brought Quin’s fire-filled heart back down to the ground. It was like magic.
However, there was one question in the backs of their minds as they planned their wedding, and their future life together. Halflings put a great deal of importance on creating families. Both of them were no different, and longed to be parents someday. But didn’t take into account the possibility that they’d be marrying another woman. Making that prospect of children start to look slim. However, not impossible.
Halflings also bore a tradition of adopting children in need to supplement their large families. So Quin and Rosina decided that they, too, would look for children that needed a loving home. As it turns out, they wouldn’t need to look for long. Because life would seemingly drop a child into their laps.
Quindelline was contracted to delve into the Underdark that summer with a party of three other warriors, hired by a royal alchemist in search of rare ingredients. Her three companions were already familiar to her, other adventurers from Waterdeep. A half-drow paladin of Eilistraee, well-versed in the mapping of the Underdark and how best to fight when encountering drow. A tiefling rogue who still owed Quin money from their last card game. And a dragonborn fighter who had a penchant for picking Quin up in the heat of battle.
The quest itself was simple, and it went with few hiccups. The party traveled to a known planar portal into the Underdark that would put them in the area known to be abundant in the ingredients of their quarry. Once arrived, they camped for several days while searching and collecting. Off in the distance, the lights of Menzoberranzan glowed against the cavernous stones. So long as a distance was kept, and the party was strategic in their movements, the party would be safe from any patrolling drow in the outskirts of the grand capital city.
On the last day of their quest, finally having found a coveted mushroom that eluded them thus far, they heard a noise piercing the eerily silent underground air. It sounded like a baby’s cry. Before they went to investigate, Quindelline and the rogue swept the area for drow. Or any other creature that could have set the trap for unsuspecting do-gooders. When they found nothing, they followed the noise as it waxed and waned. Until they came upon a small cavern.
Laying at its mouth, in a woven reed basket covered with spider’s silk, was an infant. So new that his little wrinkled face was still bruised from birth, it seemed. And the remnants of his umbilical cord still clung to his bloated tummy. Immediately identifiable were the fine points of his ears. The infant was elven.
And finally, upon looking at him closer by their torchlight, they found he wasn’t bruised purple from the trauma of his birth. He was purple by nature. He was drow.
His cry was growing weaker by the second when the party reached him. Clearly hungry and tired and forgotten. Wailing out in a final effort to save himself.
Quindelline fell to her knees and cleaned the boy of his spider silk, searching for anything to identify him. A name or a note. But found nothing. Turning then to the issue of the boy himself. She held him to her chest to try and soothe him, rocking him and cooing to him. She reached to her pack and began to rummage for her rations.
“Quin, what in the Hells are you doing?” the tiefling rolled her eyes.
“What does it look like I’m doing? Someone left the poor thing out here all alone. He’s gonna die out here.”
“That’s my problem how? He’s a drow. They’ll make more.” she whisper-shouted to Quin in frustration, trying to get her to hurry up and move on.
“Excuse me?” the paladin crossed his arms, “This child is no less deserving than you. Watch what you say.”
The tiefling opened her mouth to fire back with vitriol, but no words came out. She realized how her comments sounded. She’d been told many times how the world could do with fewer tieflings. How unfair her judgment of the defenseless child was. She dropped to her knees beside Quin and began to search for something suitable to feed the starving infant. They settled on a small container of deep rothe yogurt that the rogue acquired from traders while they were camped.
The fighter stood watch as they prepared the infant for travel. Quin made it clear that the boy was coming with them to the surface, come hells or high water, and the paladin agreed. He helped swaddle and affix the infant to Quin’s back while he carried her rucksack. Once secured, they were off to the portal out immediately. They did their best to disguise the infant in layers of swaddling to not arouse suspicion.
Once they made it to the surface, the party let out a collective sigh of relief. They emerged in the forests of the Sword Coast as morning was just breaking over the hills. And Quin unwrapped the boy from her back and properly looked him over for injuries. Miraculously, he was safe and sound apart from being filthy and starving. She took him to the river nearby and gave him a proper cleaning. The paladin emerged as she was swaddling him back up to trek back to Waterdeep.
“What will we do with him when we’re back to the city?”
Quin sighed, and looked at the infant. His wide, pink eyes looked back. She got to work clothing him and wrapping him up.
“I imagine you’d like to take him to your people. Back to the Dancing Haven. Raise him up in the Church. Make him into a good, Eilistraeean boy.”
“I would like that. That doesn’t mean that’s what’s best for him.”
Quin still worked at swaddling the boy, letting the paladin continue.
“You just got married, did you not? That jewelry maker. Rosie, you called her. I remember you talking about her on the last job we went on together.”
“I did, this spring. Her name is Rosina. I call her Rosie. We just bought a home.”
“How many bedrooms?”
“Three,”
“Then it’s settled,”
Quin paused, looking up from the boy to the paladin.
“What’s settled?”
“The boy. He’s yours.”
Quin’s eyes widened. There was no way he was serious. A drow on the surface was usually a serious business, sometimes even grim. Keeping them out of Lolth’s hands and into Eilistraee’s was a tough job, and this infant could pose no smaller a threat.
“But what of Lolth? Why was he abandoned? What if we interfered with something much bigger than him,” Quin gestured to the now sleeping bundle, “He needs the Church, he needs you to protect him. I and Rosie can’t do that alone.”
“And you won’t do it alone. You have me, and you have the Church. I’ll be reporting on the boy, it’s part of my duty. They’ll always be there to protect him. But what he needs now is a loving home. The Church will have undying love for this boy, but it isn’t a proper home. I haven’t the time nor the skill to raise up a child.”
“What makes you think I have the time or the skill to raise him up any better?”
“I know you, Quin. You’re too utilitarian to buy a three bedroom home for all but one of those rooms to sit empty. You’ve a wife, a wife that doesn’t venture out as you do, where I remain regrettably solitary.
Quin remained silent, looking at the now dozing bundle before her.
“And I know your heart. I saw the way you went to him. That was your son from the minute you set eyes on him.”

Hi! Any random fun facts you would like to throw about your characters?
Hi! Lemme think... 🤔
Kazimir can play the prima balalaika! Thanks to him having the Outlander background in D&D, he gets proficiency with a music instrument. I just think balalaikas are neat. The story goes that one of the halfling bards in Farwallow taught him to play when he was growing up because he needed another player to back him up and play duets with. He's not spectacular at it, but he can pick one up and play it by heart still.
Kaz is surprisingly fashionable for someone who doesn't mind going out to the wilderness and getting dirty. Since one of his moms is a jewelry maker, he has quite the collection of pretty shinies from her. And now that he lives in Waterdeep, some of his adventuring money often goes towards clothing that catches his eye and the trends hit big cities earliest. He still wears mostly black because he's comfortable in it. But he's a well-dressed guy when he's bopping around the city!
Less fun fact, but something I'm not sure if I've really talked about here, but Angel smokes. He smokes exclusively clove cigarettes because they smell better, and he can mask the smell with perfume oil easier. He picked it up as a teenager from some of the circus hands, much to his parents' chagrin. He knows he ought to quit sometime soon lest it ruin his voice.
Angel not only can speak Infernal, but sing in it. When he's around to perform at the Scarlet Flame, his favorite thing is singing the opening song. All the flames are quieted apart from one central large flame in the middle of the stage. Several of the fire dancers light their batons off of it and dance a slow, winding dance around it while Angel lurks close to the audience, engaging them and enthralling them while he sings in Infernal. (lowkey imagine Infernal sounding like Sumerian when its sung, and got the idea from this video that is unfortunately kind of a meme now)

8 and 14 for the tav asks (for whichever tavs you want)!
Thank you for asking!!
8. if either, are they part of the astarion/gale book club (magic & literature) or the wyll/shadowheart book club (trashy romance novels)?
For Kaz, he is officially in the Astarion/Gale book club. However, he wanders into the Wyll/Shadowheart book club whenever it sounds more interesting. He loves to read mystery novels in his spare time. However, he'll indulge in a good romance sometimes, even though it flusters him to admit it.
Meanwhile, Angel is firmly in the Wyll/Shadowheart club. He brings smut from travelling the corners of Faerun with the Cirque the likes of which they've never even seen before.
14. do they have any inside jokes among their companions?
Kaz and Gale have a ton of inside jokes about being Waterdhavian that they refuse to explain to anyone else. Because, "I guess you just have to be from there to get it."
Angel not so much. But he will gossip with Karlach in a heady mix of Baldurian slang and Infernal to keep out prying ears.
