Featuring: Mila Kunis and Billie Joe Armstrong

Location: Billie’s house

Time: April 20th - Party to Celebrate Nova’s 3rd Birthday

Notes: Short-ish and sweet. Plenty of cheese. (Light god-modding done with Megan’s permission.)

Mila: The car rumbled softly as Mila sat at the red light on her way to Billie's house. Glancing in the rear view mirror, the brunette smiled at her daughter sitting in her car seat, fidgeting with the toy trumpet Mila had bought her for Christmas. As the light changed green, the actress continued down the street - driving down road after familiar road. The day had been beautiful - crystal blue skies and a brilliantly bright sun - and Mila couldn't help but feel... happy. Beyond happy. Having Billie back in town for awhile meant the two of them had gotten to spend more time together, and every minute of every hour that Mila was with him only made her more and more certain that this was right. THEY were right. Smiling to herself, she drove down the street and finally pulled into Billie's driveway and parked her car. Moments later she and Wyatt were at the front door, gift for Nova in hand. "You want to knock?" Wyatt shook her head and crossed her arms. "NOW you're going to be shy?" Mila teased as she reached forward and knocked.

Billie: The day was going smoothly, from the moment Nova woke up Billie had been spoiling her. And not only him, but everyone in his band, family and friend group had been too. And the day was showing no signs of stopping. His entire family was coming over for a little dinner to celebrate Nova and cut a cake for her. And even though this all seemed so routine, the rockstar couldn't help but feel a little nervous. Mila, someone who he cared deeply for was also coming over. And this would not only be the first time she would be meeting his mom and siblings, but more importantly it was the first time she was meeting Nova. Ever since Olivia left, the Green Day frontman was sure to keep his girlfriends out of Nova's life until he knew where his relationship was going. And for once - Billie was letting his guard down and actually allowing the little girl to meet Mila and her daughter Wyatt. His house was already filled with people, his band causing a ruckus, of course and drinks were flowing. Was this really a 3 year olds birthday party? Oh well, everyone was having a good time and the kids were running through the house when he heard a knock on the door. Opening it, he saw Mila and instantly a smile came across his face. "Hey beautiful" He said to Mila, but directed it to Wyatt. "C'mere" He said, leaning down to pick up the little girl. "Lucky you look like your mom, you know that?" He said with a smile before giving her a soft kiss on her cheek and putting her down, letting her run off into the house to play with all the other little kids. Billie watched as she instantly made a few new friends, one being Nova before he turned his attention back to the younger brunette. "And hello to you, my love" He said, his hand wrapping around her waist as he gently pulled her close to him and brought his lips to hers for a quick, sweet kiss.

Mila: Mila wasn't going to say that she was nervous. She wasn't going to admit that there was an army of butterflies doing barrel rolls in the pit of her stomach... No, nothing of the sort. Sure, Billie's family was going to be there, and... well, the desire to make a good first impression was strong. What would they think of her? What did they even know about her? Was she just here as Billie's friend or were they aware that the two of them were sleeping together - or whatever it was they were doing? It was new territory for the woman, but Mila was determined to be her calm and collected self. As soon as the door open, a wall of sound hit her. Mila couldn't help but laugh. This was no typical party for a 3 year old, but she expected nothing less from a rockstar like Billie. As Wyatt darted off to go play with some of the other kids, Mila's face melted into a bittersweet expression. "She used to need me, and now she's just running off to do her thing," she jokingly whined, smiling as Billie pulled her close. The actress tried to ignore the skip of her heart when he called her his love, but before her mind could analyze the comment any further, his lips were on hers and Mila melted into the kiss. "Hi," she murmured softly, her cheeks turned the faintest shade of pink. Then, licking her lips and taking a step backward, she grinned. "So when do I get to meet the birthday girl? Hm?"

Billie: As the rockstar saw the actress become flushed, he couldn't help but smile. She was perfect and he couldn't help but realize that more and more every single day. Taking a step back, Billie moved to the side and let Mila into his house, closing the door behind her. "Um, Nova is somewhere around here." He said said, his emerald eyes scanning the room but not finding the birthday girl right away. "She's probably playing a game or something. But there's a few other people I'd like you to meet first anyway" He said, grabbing her hand, his fingers interlacing with hers as he walked through the busy house. He was greeted by his band, touring members and family when he turned into the other room. "Mila's here, guys!" Billie said excitedly, glancing to his mom and nodding his head toward the younger brunette.

Mila: Stepping in the house, Mila drew in a deep breath and looked about the room, her brain trying to process the pandemonium that surrounded her. "I'm sure she and Wyatt are already plotting world domination. Or forming a girl group. One or the other." The younger brunette set Nova's gift down on a nearby table. "Okay, introduce away," she said with a smile, silently hoping she'd be able to keep track of everyone. Mila was quiet as they walked through the house - strange for the woman who almost always had a comment or a quip. Walking into the next room, Mila found herself face to face with just about everyone important to Billie. His Green Day family and his biological family, and for a split second, Mila felt horribly out of place. But the excitement in Billie's voice did not go unnoticed, and Mila grinned, biting her lip lightly. Mike came over and gave her a quick hug, and the actress was grateful for the gesture as she greeted him. There was one woman in the room that caught her attention. One woman whose opinion could change everything. And the one woman she wanted to thank for simply existing. Tucking a lock of hair behind her ear, Mila walked over toward Billie's mom and smiled. The woman's smile was so reminiscent of Billie's and the slope of her eyes mirrored his perfectly. "You must be Billie's mom," Mila said smiling. "I'm Mila, and it's really... /really/ wonderful to meet you. Your son is just... a great man. One of the best men I know. So... good job." Mila punctuated the statement with a laugh, inwardly kicking herself for turning into a cliche of awkwardness.

Billie: The rockstar watched as the room lit up when Mila walked in. Just about everyone there knew who she was and why she was important to him - so there was a sense of curiosity and excitement in the room coming out of everyone. He watched as Mike hugged the younger brunette, causing him to smile and turn away for a split second to grab a few beers. In that moment away, Mila had made her way over to his mother and Billie watched on curiously. He was hoping that his mom wouldn't show what a sailor's mouth she had - but who was he kidding? Of course she would. As Billie walked up behind Mila all he could hear was his mother laughing and her saying "My son is a fucker, but you gotta love him!" Shaking his head Billie looked at his mom, his green eyes widening. "Ma, what are you saying about me?" He said with a laugh as he let one of his hands wrap swiftly around Mila's waist. "I grabbed a beer for you two." Billie handed both Mila and his mom a PBR before taking a sip of his own

Mila: After so many years in Hollywood, one would think that little could surprise Mila. She was around weirdos and egotistical narcissists all the time, but looking at the sweet woman who was Billie's mom, the last thing the actress expected were the words that came out of the older woman's mouth. Mila grinned, laughing as Billie walked over at that very moment. "Yeah, you do," she answered, unable to look away from the man's green eyes. Words she had been aching to say floated through her mind, and as they all stood there in that room, Mila couldn't help but feel like the world could read her thoughts - as though they could read the the words of her heart and mind just by looking at her. With a soft laugh, Mila sweetly kissed Billie's cheek. "Well in the last 20 seconds, she's told me every embarrassing childhood story of yours, along with awkward puberty moments, and has promised to show me all photographic evidence so I can blackmail you with it for the rest of your life. Clearly." With a mock expression of seriousness, Mila looked back toward Billie's mom who played along, nodding in agreement. She gratefully took the beer, thanking Billie before taking a sip as a few of Billie's siblings walked over. Mila greeted them, letting Billie do the introductions as she just tried to follow along, thinking the whole time that she should have brought a notebook with her to take notes.

Billie: Taking a sip of his beer as Mila spoke, Billie shook his head and couldn't help but laugh. "Of course you'd get my mom on your side to black mail me." He said, looking at his mother. "But ma, I'm you're youngest kid. Your baby...." Billie automatically curled up to his mom, giving her the biggest hug and hearing her laugh echo through the room only to be followed by her cursing and pushing him off before giving him a kiss on his cheek. To say Billie was a mama's boy would be an understatement. He loved his mom more than anything. As Billie began introducing Mila to his 7 other siblings, he saw that Mila was starting to get a bit lost - and honestly, he couldn't blame her. His family was huge and this would take forever. It wasn't until Nova came running through and latched on to Billie's leg that he realized Mila hadn't met the most important person in the house. "Hey, baby, you okay?" He said looking down at his daughter who was clearly in the middle of playing hide and seek and trying to hide behind him. "I have a better idea. Why don't you ask Mila to help you find a better hiding spot?" He spoke to the little girl, her eyes lighting up as she looked over to the brunette actress. "Do you mind?" Billie asked Mila before he told Nova anything else.

Mila: The love Billie had for his family - hell, the love they all clearly felt for each other - was palpable, and it warmed Mila to see. Her family seemed so utterly normal in comparison, but the actress knew the lengths she would go through for her family, and she knew too well that Billie felt the same way. Of course... she only had one brother. Billie introduced her to each sibling, and Mila repeated each name as she greeted them, hoping to high heaven that she wouldn't forget them in the next 30 seconds. Suddenly a bolt of energy burst through the room, attaching itself to the musician's leg. Mila's heart seemed to stop. There was no mistaking her as Billie's daughter. She could see traces of Olivia in the child's face, but there was a look, an attitude that was wholly Billie's. Mila stayed quiet, observing the man in a way she had never quite seen him. Billie with Wyatt was different. This... this was his flesh and blood. And Mila couldn't help but think fatherhood suited Billie quite well. "Do I mind?" she repeated with a smile. "You happen to be talking to a master hider-and-seeker," she answered, grinning at Nova. Mila leaned down. "Come on, I'll show you some of my favorite spots." She held out her hand. Nova glanced up to Billie for a second, then took Mila's hand as the two of them hurried off. Mila took Nova upstairs to an unassuming little closet in a far off room that was used more for storage than anything else. The closet was filled with racks and racks of old clothes, thick jackets that were rarely needed in California, but which were useful when Billie ventured into colder areas on tour. Mila closed the door behind them. "Do you think this will work?" she whispered to the child who nodded as she hid under the long jackets, the thick fabric hiding her well. Mila chuckled. "Hey, Nova... can I hide in here with you?" Nova's tiny face peaked out as she pushed some of the coats aside to let Mila slip underneath with her. The actress pulled a few nearby boxes closer to them to block them even more. She looked at Nova and smiled. Nova grinned right back at her. For a moment Mila was taken back to her own childhood, remembering the days when she and her brother had played hide and seek, and she had hidden in her favorite coat closet. No matter how often they played the game, it was always her favorite spot to hide. She gestured to Nova to come sit in her lap. "Are you having a fun birthday?" Mila whispered to the child. Nova nodded enthusiastically. The sound of nearby footsteps silenced them both. Nova covered her mouth with a hand, glancing wide-eyed back at Mila who played along and covered her own mouth with her hand.

Billie: The rockstar watched as Mila and Nova ventured off into one of the rooms in the house. He followed close behind, being sure not to say a word as he leaned up against the door frame and watched Mila and Nova in action. Mila clearly didn't know he was looking, and in a sense Billie enjoyed that aspect. He watched as Mila not only played with Nova, but took care of her. Sure, Nova was a friendly little girl and would hang out with anyone - something she picked up being on the road with Green Day so much. The little girl could make friends with a bag of chips if you let her. But this was different. Billie could see it in Nova's eyes how she immediately looked up to the woman. Up until this point, the only woman that had been in her life was Margot, her god mother. And as Billie continued looking at the two girls playing hide and seek - he came to the realization that he wanted more with Mila. That he wanted to be with her. That he wanted her to be his and only his. That he couldn't hold back anymore and he wanted his chance. His train of thought was cut off when a bunch of little toddlers came bursting through the room looking for Nova, and Billie took that as a cue to step away and wait for Mila away from the chaos

Mila: Mila hugged Nova closer, the two of them waiting in silent anticipation as the footsteps thudded throughout the house as toddlers scurried from one room to the next before a few of them burst into the closet, calling out Nova's name. Mila and Nova leaned back toward the wall, doing their best to be as quiet as possible until tiny hands lifted up one of the coats just enough to see the two of them hiding out. The resulting cacophony of toddler squeals and giggles went ringing through Mila's ears. She felt a tinge of regret as Nova climbed out from under the coats, leaving her behind. Mila wanted to get to know her. She wanted to search the girl's face and words for all those little traces of Billie she knew were there. She wanted to see what made the child laugh and what filled her with that boundless joy that seemed possible only in children. The actress crawled out from their failed hiding spot, groaning softly as her bones protested the movement. She laughed. Walking out of the room, she caught sight of Billie standing there. "I am too old to be crawling in coat closets," she joked as she walked over to him and leaned against him, hugging herself to him. "She looks so much like you. I just... she's perfect." A bubble of gleeful giggles interrupted her thoughts and she glanced toward the hallway, vaguely looking in the direction of the unseen laughter. "I guess Wyatt's having fun. I think she's forgotten who I am." Mila laughed softly and hugged Billie, resting her cheek against his chest and enjoying a quiet moment away from the rest of the world.

Billie: As the kids made a mass amount of noise, Billie couldn't help but smile to himself. He was genuinely happy that everyone was having a good time. Just as the noise died down, Billie saw Mila coming towards him. "Had fun?" He said with a laugh as he pulled them into the secluded room away from everyone for just a moment. "Thank you for doing that, it means a lot to me" He admitted to the younger brunette, his hand gently roaming up and down her back as he felt her melt into him. "No one could forget you, she's just having a good time is all. She'll be back when it's time for a nap" He said with a chuckle before pulling the actress closer to him. "You know, I saw how you were with Nova. And it really made me realize just how perfect you are." Billie let his hands gently cup Mila's face, allowing his emerald eyes to gaze at her beauty for a moment. "Mila, I don't want to be with anyone else. I want you. Only you."

Mila: Mila gestured with her hand as if to say it was nothing. "It's fun. I didn't really ever have a party like this, you know? Any excuse to just totally be silly." Mila sighed contentedly as Billie's hands rubbed her back. The rest of the world could descend into chaos, but as long as she was here with Billie... well, life wouldn't be so bad. "Nova's adorable, Billie," she said, looking up at him. "You've done an amazing job with her. You have. It's not surprising, I mean, you've got two sons already... but... you're a great father, and they're all lucky to have you there for them." Mila continued hugging him, just enjoying being there in his arms. "Yeaaaaah... she'll remember me then. I guess I'll have to get used to not being her favorite. I just thought I had a few more years before that day." As Billie began to talk about Nova, Mila could hear the shift in his voice. She glanced up to look at him, studying every detail, every line of the face she knew so well. The ground seemed to shift underneath her feet. Billie's words rang through her ears, and Mila studied his face for a moment as if determining if he actually had said what she thought he had. A sigh escaped her lips as though a weight had been lifted from her shoulders, and Mila couldn't hold back the smile. Her eyes sparkled with tiny pinpricks of tears. "Well... took you long enough to realize that." With a laugh, she kissed him sweetly before looking up at him. "I'm yours as long as you're mine." Mila felt lighter than air. She felt as thought her body radiated sunshine. This was right... This was how it was supposed to be.
