Ben and Monty are yelling at each other after Monty won against grandfather.

Monty: Will you just listen to me?!

Ben: No!! You don’t get it!! You don’t understand what I went through!! You don’t know the tears I’ve cried into my pillow at night because of him!! This is an easy feat for you, but for me it’s just the start of another heartache!!

Monty: You’re acting ridiculous, brother!

Ben: Don't call me that!! I am not your brother!!

Monty was taken aback, tears welled in his eyes.

Monty: Y-you don’t mean that.

Ben had tears streaming down his face. He growled as he stared at him with hatred burning in his pupils.

Ben: I mean it, Monty. You were always his favorite! You were always the perfect one! You were always loved!! And I was nothing! I meant nothing to no one!! You mean nothing to me and you’re no longer my brother!! I HATE YOU!!!!

Monty cried: Ben, p-please. Don’t do this.

Ben: Get away from me!!! I hate you and I never want to see you again for as long as I live!!!

Ben turned away from him and started down his own path.

Monty stared at him with tears streaming down his cheeks. He watched his only family walk away and reject him. His chest hurt, like someone had twisted a knife through it. He balled his fists up and clenched his teeth.

Monty: Fine!!! If that’s how you want it, then fine!!! After all I've done for you and this is the thanks I get?!? Go on!! I don’t care!! Leave!! I’ve got better things to do!! There are kids out there that need my help and I’m going to help them!! I don’t need you!!

Monty turned away and walked away, joining the other kids.

what the fuck how did KND do the Fullmetal Alchemist plot before it was even finished.

Warning: spoilers below if you've never read/watched Fullmetal Alchemist. (and you should, it's very good)

I thought it was a reference, but I looked it up, at the time of the episode's airing, the manga wasn't even at the correct point in the story in order to be a reference.

Heinrick is literally taking their strengths and turning them into extra delicious caramels, which I thought was a tamer reference to the philosopher's stones.

Heinrick then plans to connect several treehouses in a circle on the map in order to make a larger area to get even more caramels from the people inside it, which I also thought was a reference to the big reveal at the end of FMA, that the whole city was an alchemy circle that would kill everyone inside for more PS's.

Heinrick even says at the beginning that they can't get something from nothing, but is the first law of alchemy stated in the very beginning of FMA.

But this operation aired on Nov 16, 2007, and at this time, the FMA manga was somewhere in volume 15, so it was nowhere near this big reveal, and therefore cannot be a reference.

KND literally predicted FMA without even knowing it somehow lmao.
