Otter civet
Cynogale bennettii
Subfamily Hemigalinae (like our good friend: Owston’s palm civet), family Viverridae, suborder Feliforma
It’s a poorly known species due to its rarity snd secrecy. It is nocturnal and is the only one in its genus.
They can close their ears and nose, have webbed feet, and teeth similar to that of a seal.
They walk with their head and tail low and their back arched and they are surprisingly adept climbers. Along with eating freshwater fish, crabs, and mollusks, they also eat birds and fruit they find while climbing.
This animal is classified as endangered due to habitat loss. There is an estimated 50% decline over the past 15 years.
Another otter!!!
They? Walk like when cats are scared? Like the sillh WH WAIT BIRDS that’s kinda fun jahshdk OH SHIT I HAVE CLASS
