पाकिस्तानी सेना प्रमुख के दौरे के दौरान कश्मीर पर तीसरा अंपायर बनाएगा ब्रिटेन | UK would serve as the third umpire during the visit of the Pakistani army leader;
Tumblr media

Early Interaction Between Moonies and MRA
Bio of Kang Sun-ae from FFWPU: Mrs. Kang Sun-ae was born in Seoul in 1915. She graduated from Ewha College in 1937. She lived during a time when the role and value of women were changing in Korea. She had married and had children before she joined our church in 1958, without her husband. This is a testimony that evokes the Korea of a past time, and as such is a study of some of the values and sacrifices that characterized the spirit of the early period of our movement [The following is written by Mrs. Kang on an early experience in the Unification Church]
Tumblr media
After the tour, I went back to the headquarters church. I had planned to finally take time to recuperate and begin taking medication, but Mrs. Ji Seng-ryeon came to look for me again. Once again, I had to visit our Gangwon District. We both paid a visit to the governor of Gangwon Province together with Mrs. Choi Jeong-sun. After receiving the governor’s permission to give a lecture to the officers of the Gangwon provincial government, we invited Choi Chang-rim to give the lecture. The lecture received a great review, enabling us to give a lecture to even the public officers working in the city of Chuncheon. On this foundation, our activities developed by the day and we could convey our message to the chairman of the Promotion of Reconstruction Committee,[2] the director of the YMCA, pastors, universities and even broadcasting companies. We even visited the Army Second Corps, but could not meet the commander. So we went all the way to the Counterintelligence Division and asked to talk to the general in charge. An officer reprimanded us saying, “Do you know what this place is?” We had lunch at a cafeteria for army officers. We also talked with the adviser on the troop information and education and the director of a broadcasting station.
Once, a Moral Re-Armament (MRA) movement leader paid a visit to Gangwon and invited religious figures under the name of the provincial governor. I remember being the only woman invited.
After the governor’s skilled greetings and personal introductions, we listened to the motive and purpose of MRA. After the presentation, the governor then said, “I would like to welcome Mrs. Kang, being the only woman here today, to say a few words” and made me stand. I tried to press down my beating heart and thought, “This is the moment I should convey Father’s teachings.” I started by saying, “There cannot be a result without a cause. Hence, we can see a cause through its result.” All the participants on that day, including the governor, appeared quite surprised by my message. Many said they had difficulties comprehending such a highly philosophical lecture.
Since that event, the chairman of the Promotion of Reconstruction Committee always comes to our church and give words of encouragement whenever the community leaders’ meeting was held. The entire Chuncheon area, starting from the governor to those working in the local government felt like members. However, I aimed for more, thinking, “How can I make all the people of Gangwon listen to the lecture?” So, I made another request to Governor Pak. According to him, the Home Affairs director, the Public Affairs chief, and the local section chief had to all agree on my proposal. He suggested that I meet them. I went to their offices at the provincial government building almost every day. With a heart that I had to accomplish this before Father returned to Korea from his world tour, all the prayers and dedications I invested paid off and I ended up persuading all those who opposed us.
One day, a local official, Lee Seok-bong, and I urged the Home Affairs senior director with earnest hearts. He gave in with a smile, saying, “No matter how hard I try, Mrs. Kang’s enthusiasm just outmatches mine.”
The next day, I met the local section chief and he quietly revealed to me about an internal problem and told me to talk with the chief secretary. Soon afterward, I went to the chief secretary. The chief secretary reported the matter to the governor and once he came back, he instantly summoned the Home Affairs director and the local section chief and told them right in front of me, “Why are you opposing what people are doing? Tell everyone that if they don’t do it, it will be the same as committing hara-kiri.” He instructed that an official notice be sent immediately. I met the Public Affairs chief and raised my two hands up saying “I am a Unification Church member” and then put them down. He told me that I looked like an innocent child when I did that. I was certain that our pleas were conveyed to Heaven and that it was God who was helping us.
A few hours after this decision was passed, a dam collapsed, flooding the surrounding area. The flooding caused many problems. However, because the provincial government office had immediately written the official notification, it was conveyed to the church. God’s work and providence could have almost gone up in the air in one second. This enabled the community leaders to act as Victory Over Communism lecturers.

I definitely agree with you about Henry over Potter. I don’t actually dislike Potter but I think Henry was far more interesting and entertaining and fit in better with the show’s anti-military tone.
Potter was definitely better at putting people in their place though. I just can’t picture Henry handling Charles. He could barely handle Frank and Margaret.
The later seasons of M*A*S*H reflect a cultural shift as America swung from the anti-war liberalism surrounding the tail end of Vietnam, to the more right-wing political climate with the election of Reagan. It's interesting, because the characterization of the original cast stays pretty consistent, Hawkeye is still very anti-military, but more and more you start seeing show writers using false balance fallacies to pander to both sides of the political spectrum. Hawkeye starts being painted as naive and self righteous for his hatred of authority, rather than commendable. The show goes from being critical of the American military institution to simply being critical of war itself. Both are things that deserve critique, but the latter is far less controversial.
This shift is the most obvious in Klinger, who goes from booking for a Section 8 in the first half of the series, to vying for a promotion in "Promotion Commotion." Hawkeye also grows a little more sympathetic to military authority, although it’s usually in the context of individuals, eg: in "Commander Pierce" he starts respecting Potter's commitment to the unit more as a commanding officer, and ends up pulling rank himself. Marley and I both talked about this episode, neither of us feel as though it's particularly in character - especially since the episode tries to argue that he would get overwhelmed by influx of casualties, which... I mean, he's Chief Surgeon. Long days and managing patients is not something that should be new to him. I have some thoughts on how the concept might have worked, but that's for another time.
In the second half of the series, we see the introduction of two new main cast members: Potter and Charles. The show portrays Potter as a grandfatherly, tough-love army career man, and Charles as an uppity but competent Republican surgeon, with Potter being Henry's replacement, and Charles being Frank's. Up until this point, we hadn't seen any career army personnel being portrayed as anything but extensions of the war effort - think Leslie Nielsen's character in "The Ringbanger," or Harry Morgan’s character in “The General Flipped at Down.” Frank is a caricature, and is supposed to embody the authoritarian status quo Trapper and Hawkeye are rebelling against for the first three seasons.
As the show moves away from political satire and becomes more character driven, it fleshes out the characters, but this also has the effect of making Charles and Potter more sympathetic to the audience. With Charles, you find yourself laughing along with him as often as you are at him, and his palatability makes it easier to overlook his classism and TV-sanitized eugenicism. Potter is barely a step above the types of officers MASH would have panned in the first three seasons, but in the later half of the series, he portrayed as diplomatic and reasonable.
In a sense, Potter becomes the token "not all military" character. This particularly stands out in "Your Retention Please" and "The Price." In "Your Retention Please," Potter assists Hawkeye in making sure Klinger doesn't hastily re-enlist (subplot being Margaret helping a male nurse achieve an honorary officer's rank, which is pretty much the thematic opposite to the A-plot). Contrasted with "The Price," in which Hawkeye tries and fails to keep a Korean draft dodger out of the ROK, Potter's sympathies shift back to the military. The episode is doubly disturbing if you read against the narrative, and take the costuming mishaps at face value. Mr. Pak, a former Korean officer in a Japanese cavalry uniform, who likely enlisted during Japan's imperialist occupation of Korea, convinces another Korean soldier to align themselves with imperialist occupying American forces. He and Potter are framed as the winners of this episode’s moral lesson.
Portraying Potter as honorable and distinct from the military industrial machine pokes holes in M*A*S*H's critique of American imperialism, which why I started watching the show in the first place. He regularly bemoans the injustices of war (a particularly eye-roll worthy moment is in “Pressure Points”), but chooses to continue to serve in the military as an extension of that injustice. Hawkeye and the others have the benefit of being unwilling draftees. Potter chooses to be there. And unlike Charles, who the show strong arms into having a positive character arc, Potter is never criticized for his willing participation.

OF INDIA AND PAKISTAN'S 'REAL YET UNREAL' WARS!
Did You Know-
India's fought ONLY ONE REAL WAR with Pak!? That's the 1999 war, u/Vajpayee!
All other 3-1946, 1965, & 1971, were 'The Greatest of Great' wars, beyond all real considerations in history today!
Samjhe!
Samjho, Apne Shastri ji isi ka khulasa karne wale the, jo maare gaye!
We've already discussed the 1st 1947 Ind-Pak war in great detail. (Link below)
Regarding the 2nd 1965 & 3rd 1971 wars, they were peculiarly fought, when Pakistan was under it's 1st set of military dictatorships/takeovers, & under the Army Chief turned President/Martial Law rules, of first Gen Ayub Khan from 1958-1969, followed by the 2nd Amy Chief Gen Yahya Khan from 1969-1971, both of whom, you'd be interested to know, who were in the actual World Governing Council controlling all the Gods & Super-Gods of the universe, for nearly to more than 40 yrs each, both beginning their GC stint in mid-1940s before our collective Independence, & continuing in it till their deaths in mid 70s, & early 80's resp! & With avg 350,000 Governing Council members in each's 'greatest esteemed' lineage!!!!
Now as for the Indian side, we all know the 2nd war was fought under the stewardship of India's most beloved PM & only human PM ever imho, Lal Bahadur Shastri! And twas after winning this war, that when Shastri found out of the real 'depth' in the matter, & root cause of problem, at Tashkent, that decided to, while 'going along with' the UN-led demand for giving back Pak occupied territory during the war, go back home from Tashkent, & make a full disclosure in front of the nation, to absolve himself of the 'sin' as the nation'd been terming, of not punishing the Pakistanis for this gross violation! (Almost exactly like Netanyahu of Israel today, but with an additional handicap of having no base for his tribe amongst world bosses). .. THAT is what he was talking to his wife on the phone about, just few mins before his most mysterious death. Remember his last words to his wife, "Main vapas aake kuch aisi baaten bataunga, ki sab ke hosh ud jayenge!" !?
Vo hosh, jo tab khulne the, khulte khulte aaj jaake khula hain, 57 yrs baad!
57 yrs baad!
Now as for the 3rdd war, we know twas Indira Gandhi who was head of Govt, & you'd be interested to know, who'd also long been in the World Governing Council governing all Gods & Super God of the world, (alongside father Jawaharlal), both since 1942 infact, & that continued in it for exactly 42 yrs, till death in 1984, a death brought on her for killing & not 'jailing' fellow Governing Council member Bhindranwale, as she was 'required' to do!
(P.S. PM Nehru's 1962 war with Mao Zedong of China, (who captured Indian territory notionally & then immediately gave it up, if you remember), infact being Mao's way of thumbing his nose at all the 'GC entitled' of this world, & nothing more at all!)
So you see, twas impossible, that both these legends & veterans of the World Governing Council, could've 'actually' fought or made their nations to fight each other, against all rules of 'The Great Game'!
But no such thing in 1999. Infact very 'mildly godlike' scenarios for 1999 on the whole! Hence real, even if startlingly similar in overall result. Both Heads of nations, involved in that war, too suffering sad & unbecoming ends, for not 'going the whole hog'.
And with India's next gen 'Elite Great Unit neo-leadership' into official power by mid- 2010's, a Pak estt that's been OWNED BY INDIA! Wherever the free chips may fall, we shall follow..

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un arrives in Russia before an expected meeting with Putin
Kim is making his first foreign trip since the COVID-19 pandemic, during which North Korea imposed tight border controls for more than three years.
Tumblr media
SEOUL: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un arrived in Russia on Tuesday for an expected meeting with President Vladimir Putin that has sparked concerns about a potential arms deal for Moscow’s war in Ukraine, joined by top military officials in charge of nuclear-capable weapons and munitions factories.
North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency said Kim boarded his personal train Sunday afternoon, accompanied by unspecified members of the country’s ruling party, government and military.
South Korea’s military assessed the train crossed into Russia sometime early Tuesday, Jeon Ha Gyu, spokesperson of South Korea’s Defense Ministry, said in a briefing without elaborating on how the military obtained the information. Kim’s delegation likely includes his foreign minister, Choe Sun Hui, and his top two military officials, Korean People’s Army Marshals Ri Pyong Chol and Pak Jong Chon.
Other officials identified in North Korean state media photos may hint at what Kim might seek from Putin and what he would be willing to give. Kim is apparently bringing Jo Chun Ryong, a ruling party official in charge of munitions policies who accompanied the leader on recent tours of factories producing artillery shells and missiles.
North Korea may have tens of millions of artillery shells and rockets based on Soviet designs that could give a huge boost to the Russian army in Ukraine, analysts say.
Also identified in photos were Pak Thae Song, chairman of North Korea’s space science and technology committee, and Navy Adm. Kim Myong Sik, who are linked with North Korean efforts to acquire spy satellites and nuclear-capable ballistic missile submarines. Experts say North Korea would struggle to acquire such capabilities without external help, although it’s not clear if Russia would share such sensitive technologies.
Kim Jong Un may also seek badly needed energy and food aid, analysts say. Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno told reporters that Tokyo will be watching the outcome of the Kim-Putin meeting with concern, including the “impact it could have on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.”
Kim and Putin may meet in the eastern Russian city of Vladivostok, where Putin arrived Monday to attend an international forum that runs through Wednesday, according to Russia’s TASS news agency. Putin’s first meeting with Kim was held in 2019 in the city, which is about 425 miles (680 kilometres) north of Pyongyang.
Russian news agencies quoted Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov as saying Putin and Kim will meet after the Vladivostok forum, but the reports didn’t specify when or where. Peskov said the meeting would include a lunch in Kim’s honour.
Deputy foreign minister Andrei Rudenko said that Russia will inform South Korea about the meeting’s outcome upon request: “The South Koreans have an embassy in Moscow. If they want, we can provide them with the information we have.”
Kim is making his first foreign trip since the COVID-19 pandemic, during which North Korea imposed tight border controls for more than three years.
Associated Press journalists near the North Korea-Russia frontier saw a green train with yellow trim similar to one Kim used during previous foreign trips at a station on the North Korean side of a border river on Monday.
US officials released intelligence last week that North Korea and Russia were arranging a meeting between their leaders.
According to US officials, Putin could focus on securing more supplies of North Korean artillery and other ammunition to refill declining reserves as he seeks to rebuff a Ukrainian counteroffensive and show that he’s capable of grinding out a long war of attrition. That could potentially put more pressure on the US and its partners to pursue negotiations as concerns over a protracted conflict grow despite their huge shipments of advanced weaponry to Ukraine in the past 17 months.
“Arms discussions between Russia and the DPRK are expected to continue during Kim Jong Un’s trip to Russia,” said White House National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson, using the abbreviation for North Korea’s official name of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
“We urge the DPRK to abide by the public commitments that Pyongyang has made to not provide or sell arms to Russia.”
State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said Washington will monitor the meeting closely, reminding both countries that “any transfer of arms from North Korea to Russia would be a violation of multiple UN Security Council resolutions,” and that the US “will not hesitate to impose new sanctions.”
After decades of a complicated, hot-and-cold relationship, Russia and North Korea have been drawing closer since Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The bond has been driven by Putin’s need for war help and Kim’s efforts to boost the visibility of his partnerships with traditional allies Moscow and Beijing as he tries to break out of diplomatic isolation and have North Korea be part of a united front against Washington.
The United States has accused North Korea of providing Russia with arms, including selling artillery shells to the Russian mercenary group Wagner. Both Russian and North Korean officials denied such claims.
But speculation about the countries’ military cooperation grew after Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu made a rare visit to North Korea in July when Kim invited him to an arms exhibition and a massive military parade in the capital where he showcased ICBMs designed to target the US mainland.
Following that visit, Kim toured North Korea’s weapons factories, including a facility producing artillery systems where he urged workers to speed up the development and large-scale production of new kinds of ammunition.
Experts say Kim’s visits to the factories likely had a dual goal of encouraging the modernization of North Korean weaponry and examining artillery and other supplies that could be exported to Russia.

"A Black Chapter": Pak Army On Violent Protests Over Imran Khan's Arrest
Imran Khan Arrest: In a strongly-worded statement, the Pakistan military asserted that no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands.
Tumblr media
Islamabad: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, has termed the events that unfolded on May 9 as a “black chapter” in the country’s history, The Express Tribune reported.
The ISPR in a statement issued in Urdu on Wednesday referred to the protests that were held after the arrest of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. The ISPR said that the protests particularly targeted army property and installations.
In a strongly-worded statement, the military’s media wing asserted that no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands. Citing the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) statement and law, the ISPR justified the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, as per the news report.
ISPR said that there was a wave of attacks witnessed on the army’s properties and installations along with anti-army slogans being chanted following the arrest of Imran Khan. It condemned those actions and raised its concerns regarding the tactics used by certain elements within the protesting groups.
“Soon after [Khan’s arrest], there were organised attacks on army properties and installations and anti-army slogans were raised,” the military’s media wing said according to The Express Tribune report.
The ISPR criticised the protesters and termed their actions as an attempt to manipulate the country’s sentiments for their own limited and selfish objectives. The military wing said, “This is an example of hypocrisy. It stressed on the importance of maintaining law and order and highlighted the need to respect the institutions of Pakistan, according to The Express Tribune report.
According to the statement, the army has shown extreme tolerance, patience, and restraint and has worked with utmost patience and endurance in the best interests of the country. The ISPR in the statement said, “As per strategy, a situation was created to use the army’s response for nefarious political purposes which was thwarted by the army’s vigilant response.”
It further said, “We are well aware that behind this, there were some orders, instructions, and complete planning of some nefarious leaders of the party.” The ISPR said that those involved in facilitating, planning and political instigation have been identified and strict action as per the law will be taken against them. The ISPR warned that “strong and decisive action” will be taken in the event of any further attacks on military and state installations, as per the news report.
Attack and vandalism by PTI workers have been reported in PAFMM Alam Air Base Mianwali, The Pakistan Daily reported in a tweet. Several violent protests erupted across Pakistan including at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi and the residence of the Corps Commander in Lahore, which was once the house of Mohammed Ali Jinnah, following the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan on Tuesday afternoon.
People took to the streets, resorted to violence, arson and even raised many slogans to register their resentment against the arrest of ex-PM of Pakistan and PTI chief Imran Khan, across Pakistan including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Karachi, Quetta, Mardan, Bannu, and Chilas.
The protesting mob resorted to stone pelting on houses, offices and vehicles, burning banners and tyres and blocking roads. Several videos surfacing on social media platforms show groups of men, some with their faces covered, entering the gated premises of GHQ with sticks, which they later were seen using to hit the walls.

Imran Khan's Big Charge Against Pak's Former Army Chief
The deposed premier, who was voted out of office in April last year after a no-confidence motion, said the Intelligence Bureau (IB) chief told him that Bajwa wanted to bring Shehbaz Sharif into power.
Tumblr media
Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan said he dissolved the provincial assemblies of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) after the former army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa advised him to do so, The News.com reported.
During a meeting with General Bajwa where President Arif Alvi was also present, the former army chief suggested that if the PTI chief sought elections, he should first dissolve his governments in the two provinces, Khan said in a recent interview with a private news channel on Sunday, The News.com reported.
The deposed premier, who was voted out of office in April last year after a no-confidence motion, said the Intelligence Bureau (IB) chief told him that Bajwa wanted to bring Shehbaz Sharif into power.
"General Bajwa and the [premier intelligence] agency knew that the current rulers had stolen the money from the national kitty and taken it abroad. Despite knowing this, General Bajwa was willing to give them 'NRO' as he had planned an extension [for himself]," Khan said.
During the interview, Imran Khan added that the polls can take place in July if Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif dissolves the National Assembly, the lower house of parliament.
"Elections can be held in July if the prime minister dissolves the assembly," the ousted premier said.
He also stressed that caretaker governments in both Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the provinces where Khan's party was in power before he decided to dissolve its two assemblies on January 14 and 18, respectively, are illegal after the lapse of their stipulated term, The News.com reported.
He demanded that the caretaker government be abolished and a new "neutral" interim setup be instated.
He added that the Supreme Court of Pakistan has given May 14 as the date for Punjab polls and his party won't let the government go beyond that.
"If they think they [incumbent government] will pressurise the Supreme Court, we will not let it happen. They will scandalise the top court to run away from elections," he said.
In response to the PTI's call for elections in the two provinces, the government has, time and again, insisted on conducting elections, to the national and provincial assemblies, together in October, The News.com reported.
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court had fixed May 14 as the new date for the election to the Punjab Assembly, quashing the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) decision to extend the polls date from April 10 to Oct 8.
While security has been cited as a major concern for the government to refuse to hold the polls, the lack of funds for carrying out the task has also been communicated as the main reason for their insistence on delay.
The PTI chief shared the suggestion while refusing to back down from his demand for the snap polls. "There may be no money even in October. The situation may worsen. We cannot go beyond May 14."
The former prime minister further said that inflation irked the public, and the government is running away from its reaction by postponing the elections.
"They are scared of elections," he said censuring the Shehbaz-led administration.
Khan insisted that the ECP is working in connivance with the ruling Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of 13 political parties.
"Maryam Nawaz is receiving protocol. The election commission is with them," he said, directing his criticism towards the electoral body and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior vice-president.
Commenting on talks with the ruling alliance in Islamabad, Khan said he had given the mandate of negotiations to his party's Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi and not to Asad Qaisar, the former speaker of the National Assembly, The News.com reported.
"There has been no discussion on negotiations with Shah Mahmood Qureshi so far," he said amid reports that some major political parties had reached out to the PTI.
Earlier this week, the CJP Bandial said the top court could make some room and change the date of elections if all the political parties evolve a consensus to hold talks. The court had earlier also stressed on political parties to sit together to resolve the issues.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, meanwhile, expressed his support for the proposal, calling on his allies and all other political parties to come together and try to end the ongoing crises, The News.com reported.
PPP senior leader Qamar Zaman Kaira also confirmed that the ruling alliance made a contact with the PTI. Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Siraj Ul Haq has also been actively trying to build a bridge between the PTI and the coalition parties in the government.
Khan, however, claimed that the government would use negotiations to further delay the polls.

Bo Hi Pak - Did you join the Unification Church in February 1957 or February 1958?
In this text it is written that he received training at the U.S. Army Infantry School at Fort Benning, Georgia, future home of the School of the Americas, from 1956 to 1957. He also writes that soon after returning to Korea, in September 1957, he was invited into the staff of Maj. Gen. Willis S. Matthews, chief of the Korea Military Advisory Group. According to Pak, from September ‘57 to ‘59, he worked as the Special Assistant to Chief of U.S. Military Advisory Group in Seoul.   Though this mismatched timeline may seem like an innocent mistake, 1957-1958 was a huge year of development and growth for the Unification Church, and a pivotal time for Pak. If he had in fact joined the Unification Church in February 1957, a date he has often cited, including in court, he would have already been a member of the Unification Church by the time he was invited to work for KMAG.
