Since a total of zero people asked me: here are my opinions on Palia non-romancable NPCs after playing the game for about 100 or so hours. And as always SPOILERs:

Ashura: You are my dad. You're my dad. Boogie-ooogie-oogie. I actually don't take to him as much as I should.The fact that he was the chill one in his family makes so much sense. He's such a calming presence. But of course there's the Regrets.

Delaila: Ok but why is she the few Older adult Majiri OG in Kilima? Like have you noticed that she's kinda the only one that's originally from the village? Like, where did she come from? Is she the real leader? Did she secretly take everyone out that she didn't like and replace them with people lured in my her homecooking? Things to think about.

Kenli: What happens when you don't give a nepotism baby a coming-of-age redemption arc. This guy is just trying his best. He likes sandwiches and cute fluffy animals. His best friend is the town priest. But despite it all man understands capitalism like no other (see Maji Market).

Caleri: She's a fav. Maybe I'm projecting but I too would die for my books and eat sleep and breathe in the library. Intelligent, unbothered by village happenings. Yet, keeps a detailed leger of each book bowers status upon the borrowed book's return. However, deeply unhappy with the cards life has delt her. I try to bring her all the glass bulbs so she can read into the night.

Elouisa: The only real G's out there. Sending me on impossible tasks to prove her theories and beat to cryptid allegations. Of course she's the older twin. Intelligent, bothered by village happenings when it comes to her projects. Still watches over her sister and cares in her own way. I love her.

Badruu: Comedic genius. I'm pretty sure when he gave up the bard life for farming, he realized he needed to put his funny guy hat on and has been spitting puns ever since. And yet despite the dad jokes, he asks me me, the amnesiad human for parenting advice. The absolute honor. Also, I just need to see him talk with Einar, PLEASE. The comedic fallout would be unmatched.

Najuma: I make the journey to Bahari Bay every day just for her. Because 1) thanks for the glider I use that every day 2) we are besties and 3) it's good to keep a genius that can blow stuff up on your side idk. We may have different types of Momma Trauma but we are still going to bond over it.

Chayne: I don't interact with him much idk. His dad's raised him right I think. Basically, caretaker for the entire village. Also my Shepp-in-law, grand-Shepp?? idk

Hekla: Jina's caretaker. A bit aloof at first. I also don't interact with Hekla much, but one day I'mma find out what's in the tent.

Sifuu: That's my Shepp! Also a problematic mother that doesn't really understand her child and yearns for days of adventure. And ripped. There's something to be said that she gave me an ornamental sword as a gift. Like insta-loyalty from me even if I wasn't romantically pursuing your son.

Auni: We babe who needed someone is his bug hunting club but mysteriously sucks at hunting most bugs if his item requests are anything to go by. The fact that he ran away from home for the exact length of time that his delivery shift is and wondered why no one was worried is absolutely hilarious and yes I read his journal and laughed.

Zeki: First of all, why is Zeki the only one selling toilets and they are contraband? Has anyone asked this? Is it like illegal to use indoor plumbing and Zeki has the monopoly?? Secondly, I know this fool is scamming me and when I finally get enough gold I'ma buy out him and his whole underground establishment. Respectfully, of course.

Eshe: If Eshe has zero haters, I'm dead. Just because she didn't get with the politically powerful sibling, she makes it everyone else's problem while somehow still efficiently running the village. Even I gotta admit no one's doing it like her. Another member of the problematic mom club but don't tell her she's been grouped with Sifuu. She'll pitch a fit.

Tau: The fact that there's only one of him is a crime. The only good boy.

Palia - my little journey

TLDR; This game is worth the time you put into it. Some of the later objectives are a bit of a grind, but if you need a stop gap until Haunted Chocolatier or any other cozy game this is a pretty nice distraction. You can add me if you like, I'm pretty active on the game my name is: kerr

This game feels like a poem to the experiences that I loved from classics like: Stardew Valley, The Sims, and Harvest Moon. Making friends by talking to everyone everyday, even if they are a map away, to opening a notes app to try and remember everyone's wants for gifts. Farming materials so I can try and build my perfect house. It has everything I've wanted in an experience like this.

It is a massive undertaking to try and upgrade your tools and level your skills. I've easily clocked over 80 hours into and i'm getting close to the "end game." Housing

God, I love designing my house, placing objects feels great, farming to get the stuff to build your dream furniture sets feels nice to me. This is where my grips begin! I know this game is in beta, and things will be smoothed out when it fully launches! The later quests are a huge grind. Hoping for RNG to bless me so I can get these fish for the bundles. When I finally got the Void Ray (that i was convinced didn't exist) I felt so much joy my hands started shaking. It personally took me over 5 hours to get that one fish.

Bugs We all expect them, but there are a lot that stop quests from continuing. It just really sucks when it's the max level friendship quest. Uneven farm land?

This is a very small one, I have all the plots unlocked at my house, but even with me having level 11 farming there isn't enough slots to make a even square, might just plant a tree in the odd one out, still feels strange. Find Your Shepp

WOW this quest is taking forever for me, maybe others will have completed this a lot earlier than me, just feels really hard to get to level 4 friends? Maybe that is the point! List of small things I would love to see - let us right click in chat to add to party - remember password on login - pets for those who can't spend real money - different body types (they confirmed they will add!) - changing our face for in game gold price (or free either or is cool) - sitting animations, please let me sit in my nice chairs, maybe also sleep on my bed! - Larger community sizes This could go on and on. All this being said, easily 8/10, thank you for letting me romance the fish robot. Kinda love that. (also the community in the game has been great from what I've experienced, but I went into the discord and It's pretty toxic in there. I would avoid.) Thank you for reading.

For anyone in the community who has been hooked on Palia, might I recommend taking a look at Wildmender and Islands of Insight?

Wildmender is releasing this month and has a demo on Steam. It's kinda like if the nature restoration in Okami met the atmosphere of Sable or Journey for a farming base-builder, and it has co-op through Steam. This one has light combat, if that's a detractor for you, but is focused on reforesting the desert/base building & farming kind of simulator.

Islands of Insight is a puzzle MMO, very similar vibes to the Witness, and currently has an open pre-beta event going on for ~the next two weeks, also on Steam. Keep in mind too that this event isn't like Palia's and your progress won't carry over in case you don't want to do too many puzzles. A lot of types of puzzles though and fun ways to help friends do them together in case you get stuck.

Not a horse game thing, but seemed along similar vibes to what a lot of folks on here enjoy since I know Palia has blown up.

Palia: The Journey Begins

Now that Palia is on Switch, I hopped on and made my character. I’ve been looking forward to the idea of a “cozy sim MMO.” Some of my friends have been playing it on PC, but my machine just chuckles and refuses to run it. Now I can finally join them.

I’ve made decent beginner progress and almost have my house built.

Of course the big draw for me is the fishing. I got a look at the rewards for maxing out your skill at Lv. 20 and collecting a bunch of fishing medal, and those are my big goals for the game right now. I want an aquatic house that screams “Fisherman.”

4. Ashes - The Longest Johns. This is one of the songs I imagine Nahte (and maybe Tsimh) have picked up as bards! It also pairs with a OC RP character I have named Keaghan, who is a pacifist captive in a culture that glorifies raiding and pillaging, and to me sort of represents his determination not to give up on what he believes in.

16. We All Fall Down - The Rigs. THIS SONG GOES BACK SO LONG FOR ME. It's from Nate's original Fallout 4 playlist and has followed him through a lot of AUs, definitely one of his core songs. I still poke at Fo4 stuff now and then, but it's also on his FFXIV playlist :3

It's about coming back from a journey through a dark period in his life, by finding people he loves who bring him home and show him, ultimately, it's going to be ok.

64. When The Morning Light Shines In. I have this one on several ambient playlists that I put up to draw/write to, or play in the background of open world games like Palia, Valheim, etc :3 It's also on Keaghan's playlist!

This might be a cozy gaming blog for a bit

First of all, I think I FINALLY found a system that works for me and continues to motivate me in terms of weight loss. Again, I haven’t straight up lost any weight other than the typical 1-2 pounds, but as I progress with my goals it’s bound to happen. I already feel better than I did earlier this month.

So because I achieved my monthly goals a little bit early, I treated myself and I got a new switch case and a screen protector! I didn’t end up getting dorfromantik. Not yet at least. Although I just learned about a VERY similar game called Panorama that actually looks easier (and I’ve read reviews saying it’s easier and arguably more fun) BUT the art style doesn’t look as good as the former…we’ll see.

As far as Palia goes, I actually got the opportunity to Alpha test the game a few days ago, which was super cool! I’m not allowed to say anything until August 10 for the open beta, but I will say that I had a great time and this will definitely replace my Disney dream light valley sized hole. That’s a free to play game so i don’t count that as I “treat myself” purchase. But I think dorfromantik will still be my next purchase once I hit all my goals for august.

Maybe I’ll start posting my formal reviews of each game as I play them! I’m just so excited to go on this cozy gaming journey!

One of the daily rituals observed at the Jagannath Temple is the principle of hill, hill or sleeping. Jagannath is laid to rest on a small flock. This is the last of the 22 Thakurs' policies. The big temple has special idols for various travel and policy. Jagannath also has a special sleeping statue for the hill.

Thakur's idol is made of gold. Half of the statue is male and the other half female. This sleeping idol is a combined idol of Lakshmi Narayan. In the right hand of the octagonal sleeping Thakur, Lord Vishnu has the armor of the conch, the chakra, the mattress and the lotus, while the left hand holds the mirror, the lotus, the book and the kalasa. It is said to be the form of Vishnu and Yoganidra. Devotees think that the sound of Shayan Thakur's dumb symbolizes Brahma. Every day, after the incense of Badsingh is finished, the gemstones are thrown into the womb by the bed sheets. The sleeping idol in the storeroom is taken by the Palia florist and beaten by Balabhadra and Jagannath respectively. Sandalwood is applied at this time.
