Who, in your opinion, are ✨Legendary, Talented Actors and Actresses✨ (deceased, alive and "legend in the making")?
Nice question!!!!  Like the word “versatile”, I feel that when referring to an actor or actress, “legendary” is thrown around too often without actually understanding what that word means and how it correlates to an actor or actress. That being said, I hope I do this right...
Alive: - Daniel Craig - Winona Ryder - Christian Bale - Julianne Moore - Jim Carrey - Meryl Streep - James McAvoy - Julia Roberts - Willem Dafoe - Susan Sarandon - Ewan McGregor - Charlize Theron - Johnny Depp (like him or not) - Nicole Kidman - Tom Hanks - Kate Winslet - Edward Norton - Morgan Freeman - Robert Downey Jr. - Leonardo DiCaprio - Allison Janney - Christopher Walken - Will Smith - Michael Caine - Brad Pitt - Dakota Fanning - Denzel Washington - Viola Davis - Gary Oldman - Bryce Dallas Howard - Idris Elba - Helena Bonham Carter - Tom Cruise (like him or not, and I, personally, absolutely despise him) - Jessica Chastain - Al Pacino - Cate Blanchett - Steve Carell (his career took off after he landed his iconic role as Michael Scott in The Office, but since his last episode in 2011, he's come a long way and has even branched out into a variety of genres as well as role types) - Angelina Jolie - Michael Keaton - Michelle Pfeiffer - Daniel Day-Lewis - Sandra Bullock - Robert De Niro - Renée Zellweger - Colin Farrell - Patricia Arquette - Colin Firth - Joaquin Phoenix - Keanu Reeves - Matthew McConaughey - Brendan Fraser - Harrison Ford - Jack Nicholson - Stanley Tucci
**There are tons of actors and actresses from the 30s-60s that were in-demand and could definitely be considered a legend, but I chose to leave them off because I didn’t want this list to be long and I wanted to focus on only the ones I grew up with as well as heard of**
Gone, but NEVER Forgotten - Heath Ledger - Carrie Fisher - Robin Williams - Brittany Murphy - River Phoenix - Chadwick Boseman - Chris Farley - Patrick Swayze
Legend in the Making: - Anya Taylor-Joy - Robert Pattinson - Margot Robbie - Julia Garner (I can just feel it...!) - Finn Wolfhard - Melissa McCarthy - Andrew Garfield - Sadie Sink (I can just feel it...!) - Cillian Murphy - Kate McKinnon - Saoirse Ronan - Anne Hathaway - Amy Adams - Lin-Manuel Miranda - Kristen Stewart (like her or not)
Honorable Mentions: Emma Thompson, Natalie Portman, Elle Fanning, Halle Berry, Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, Ryan Reynolds, Zoë Saldaña, Emma Stone, Will Ferrell, Adam Sandler
Unsure:
Hugh Jackman - click here
Matthew Modine - A true artist at heart who was quite versatile with his roles and genres in the 80s (and so fine 😍), but he isn't super well-known nor popular like, for example, Tom Hanks; however, the role of 'Papa' on Stranger Things won him tons of new fans as well as awoke his fans that grew up with him
Jason Bateman - He's been around since the 80s, but aside from Ozark, he only really stars in crude R-rated films, so I'm on the fence about whether he'd be considered one or not
Amy Poehler
Adam Driver
Tina Fey
Jake Gyllenhaal
Chris Rock
Florence Pugh
Bill Skarsgård
Tom Holland
|---------------------------------------------------------------|
There are definitely tons--I mean tons of more actors and actresses I could write out for each category, but I'll end the lists here. Thank for the ask, this was fun to think about! If any of you have suggestions, then send me an ask.

Sonny Vaccaro and Nike pursue basketball rookie Michael Jordan, creating a partnership that revolutionizes the world of sports and contemporary culture.
REVIEW:
This is Ben Affleck's first leap into the non-crime genre and he does it well. Let's face it, we all know how the story ends, but it's being told in such a way you still feel you want to watch every chapter as it unfolds to its inevitable conclusion. Let's not forget the cast who are portraying real-life characters this time and as usual, Viola Davis is exceptional.
CAST: Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, Marlon Wayans, Chris Messina, Chris Tucker, Viola Davis, Matthew Maher, Julius Tennon, Tom Papa, Joel Gretsch, Gustaf Skarsgård, Barbara Sukowa, Jessica Green, Dan Bucatinsky

My family’s always with me. We travel around like a big circus commune family. We travel [with] extended family. I got the idea from Stellan Skarsgård who works a lot and has a lot of kids. (laughs) And I said, “Stellan, how do you do it?” He goes, “You bring the kids. You bring friends. You bring aunts. You bring family. You rent a house and you all just hub out at that place. And you’re like some big commune. And when you go off to work during the day they’re like, ‘urgh, I couldn’t care less,’ but you’re all together in whatever country you’re working from.” It was such a great thing. — Nicole Kidman (2020)

Keeping Up with the Kardashians Skarsgårds. -Gustaf Skarsgård (VIKINGS) has been cast in Christopher Nolan's currently filming OPPENHEIMER. A film that boasts too many randos to mention (who is giving David Krumholtz work??) Gustaf and papa Stellan (late of DUNE and currently filming Disney+'s ANDOR starring Diego Luna as Cassian Andor) costarred in a short film, SOUL OF A MAN,
Tumblr media
co-written and co-directed by Bill Skarsgard (IT). Gustaf and Stellan also costarred in the upcoming film WHAT REMAINS. - New images of Bill from the mini-series CLARK about charismatic criminal Clark Olofsson, whom the term Stockholm Syndrome was named after.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There was a film that came out a few years ago starring Ethan Hawke, Noomi Rapace, Mark Strong about this incident and Strong was disappointed as he thought it would be dramatic like DOG DAY AFTERNOON when it ended up being quite silly. Skarsgård's version is comedic as well. Which is great because Bill's episode of AMC+'s SOULMATES showed off his comedic chops.
Pin-Up Bill
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I match your Pin-Up Bill with Pin-Up Alexander who will next be seen in Robert Eggers THE NORTHMAN (any relation to Eric Northman remains to be seen).

Hi Loli. How are you? Soo can you write a fluffly story about Alex family finding out that he is going to be a dad. Als o can you included that his fan find out too. And if you have one already can you link it please and thank you.
Hi Non! I’m even better after this ask. This is so sweet. So tender.
I don’t want to focus on the fan aspect of it too much because I actually think the Skarsclan finding out is a lot more cute and fun. For the most part, even after they go public, A&A keep their relationship out from under the public’s microscope. A blessing of the way Alex was raised. He learned the value of privacy. I feel like that comes out as most celebrity gossip does — as a rumor first and then full fledged acceptance the moment some nosy pap snaps a picture of them walking through the Grove’s Farmers Market and Addi’s little bump makes a debut.
But the Skarsclan finding out? This is so good. So pure and, again, so tender. They had to wait a long time with Alex. A long time for him to settle in with someone for the long haul, aside from becoming a papa. So I high-key think they had to turn it into a bit of a deal. Like the sort where they had to make a spur of the moment trip out to Sweden to tell his family. I even bet he tried to brush it off as no big deal if they just told his family over FaceTime. But I also bet Addi threw a stink to that idea. Telling his family some of the biggest news of his life over FaceTime? No way. If her family got the decency to be told in person, his family definitely would get that decency too.
Alex fell in love with her a little more the day she argued that with him; to keep his family included, maybe even more so than her own. It also just happens to be perfect timing for a trip. It's summertime and their little holiday baby hasn't yet made it physically obvious that they're going to be having a holiday baby.
They're going to have the tell his family the news in groups. Despite them being tight-knit and together regularly for dinner, when they're working, they're all over the place. Bill's in Gothenburg with his family for a project. Sam's stuck in a shift at the hospital and will be around sporadically. Valter is... God knows where... somewhere way up north doing God knows what. Eija's somewhere the sun shines a little hotter; like Spain or Portugal. And Gustaf... well Gustaf made it a point to ensure he'd be in town when they mentioned they'd be spending a little time in Stockholm.
That's perfect in Addi's opinion. She'd rather tell the Skarsclan the news in smaller groups instead of all at once where it becomes a big to do. She knows that it is big news but like... it's a baby -- not the Nobel Peace Prize. And she wants to tell them as soon as possible. She doesn't want to hang around for half the trip with this secret bubbling at the surface.
Alex is the perfect person to gather the clan simply because he rarely makes it back home. He calls around, tells them a time and place of where they should be, and like clockwork family starts coming out of the woodwork. He's so good at it that Addi starts to think he planned too efficiently. No sooner than Alex is lifting their luggage off the carousel, she's speed walking with him through the airport and into the car -- to what she learns is the dinner planned with some of the family so they can share their news.
"I thought we'd get an hour or two to relax," she mentions in the car as he's circling the airport to the exit.
"You said you wanted to do it fast," he looks over at her with a smile and reaches his hand over to cradle her stomach.
"But this is beyond fast. This is the Usain Bolt of announcements,"
He grins and stifles some laughter. For as much as she wanted to do it quick and not make it too big a deal, Alex wanted to do it quick so they could spend the rest of the time celebrating their impending parenthood. Of all the roles he'd been offered in life, papa was quickly rising to become his favorite.
The Skarsgårds can be heard the moment Alex and Addi made it to the top of the stairs inside the building. They can hear a couple kids shrieking and laughing over Stellan's playfully, thunderous voice. Addi grabs onto Alex's hand and gives it a gentle squeeze -- a little "here we go" moment before they step into the wonderful chaos that is Papa Stellan's Stockholm apartment.
They're made the center of attention the moment they walk through the door. The two littlest Skarsgård brothers run up to their oldest brother and leap onto his legs with bear hugs. They sit on his feet, forcing him to drag their weight with each step he takes. Alex doesn't mind this on a normal day, and today it almost brings tears to his eyes. Someday soon, he's going to have his own little bebes sitting on his feet, asking to be dragged around.
It's Addi that first notices something different about the energy in the apartment. No one's treating them weirdly. In fact, they hardly have room to breathe, being overwhelmed with hugs and kisses. The one energy that's off is Gustaf. Not in an uncomfortable way. Not in an awkward way...
He hangs back from the rest of the family. As she's on her tip toes hugging Papa Stellan, Addi spots Gustaf standing back, beaming. She makes her way through the family, finding herself in front of Gustaf. His smile hasn't left his face for a second and Addi's trying to catch on.
"Hey Goose," she wraps her arms around his torso.
He circles his arms around her shoulders for the embrace and kisses her cheek. Once they part, he holds onto her shoulders delicately, "you're glowing." It's said matter-of-factly and even though he opens his mouth to say something else, he holds back and shifts his gaze to his brother as he approaches.
"Gustaf," Alex grins and hugs his younger brother. "Happy you could make it,"
"Me too. Very excited,"
Addi knows his comment oozes insinuation but she holds back as Alex sets his hand on the small of her back and kisses her temple. "Need water, sweetheart?"
She looks up at him and rests her hand on his stomach, "yes please, honey." Silently thankful he's got a small errand to perform, she looks back at Gustaf with a smile on her face. "How?"
Gustaf giggles and shrugs. "He looks different and you look..." He takes a deep breath and hugs her again. It's warm and soothing, and she knows her bond with him is something special. "Pregnancy becomes you,"
She kisses his cheek and retreats just as Alex returns with a glass of water for her.
"When's the little one due?"
Alex glances down at Addi, setting his hand on her lower back again, "you already told him?"
She looks up at him, then at Gustaf. "He guessed,"
Alex smiles and straightens his back as if standing taller than before. "Christmas time,"
Gustaf smiles warmly. "Proud of you, brother," he steps in for a hug with Alex. There's something soft and endearing to the interaction. These two men who've lived their whole life clinging to the idea and values of a tight-knit family.
But -- seeing the softness of their interaction draws the attention of the rest of the clan. Stellan, most obviously, comes up between his two oldest sons, wraps an arm around both of their shoulders, and shakes them gently in inquiry.
"How far we've come," he gestures to Alex, "from you lifting Gustaf off the floor by his ears to hugging in my den. What's going on?" His eyes flicker from one son to the next, then to Addi.
She reaches to link her arm with Alex's, blushing like mad. She's excited to tell the whole family. Gustaf was always going to be the easy one to tell but she knew Stellan would be her favorite to tell. The man wanted nothing more than for his children to be happy and fulfilled in whatever endeavor they took on. He wanted them to know the highs of success, the lows of failure, and the absolute joy he had felt raising his children to become good, strong people. He cried when he learned Bill was going to be a father and he anxiously waited to see if his other children would embark on the same journey.
"Addi's pregnant,"
Instead of hollering and jumping in excitement like she expected him to, or even just squeezing Alex half to death, Stellan's eyes softened. They welled up and he released his sons to instead wrap his arms around Addi. He held her gently and rubbed his hand over her back; his head nestled against hers fondly.
"Thank you," he whispered so low even she strained to hear him, "for being the best thing that's ever happened to my Alexander."
Oh how she wanted to blame the pregnancy hormones for the sniffles and tears that escaped her in that moment. But she really knew it was all due to the softness of the moment.
"You are a blessing," he kissed her cheek and backed up to wipe the back of his hand over his teary eyes. "This child is a blessing,"
He turned to congratulate Alex with a warm embrace. And somewhere between wiping the tears from his eyes and loudly announcing to everyone else in the house that a julbebis was upon them, a bottle of champagne popped open and the real celebration of life began.

AN: hello friends! this is a little something i came up with using this lovely moodboard by the ever-talented @flowers-in-your-hayr . this is also in celebration of her hitting 650+ followers! congratulations my dear, you are a light and deserve all of the love.
warnings: this piece is under the cut because it delves heavily into pregnancy and babies!
The changes were somewhat slow to note in the beginning.
There had been intense morning sickness throughout the first trimester; nausea on a level she had never fathomed before. It had been so terrible that some days the only task she could muster successfully was peeling herself from her duvet to stand beneath a near-scalding shower, arms braced against the glossy, tiled walls and chest heaving under the duress of the waves roiling deep in her belly.
Sleep, when she could come by it, was an absolute reprieve that came fast and all-consuming for her.
And then one morning- a couple of weeks shy of her third trimester, she had been standing naked and dripping in front of the fogged mirror in their on-suite washroom, when she noticed as if for the first time, the burgeoning bump of her belly. She watched the rounded curve of the life form growing inside of her with a hungry, fascinated gaze.
“Good morning baby,” Alexander had appeared behind her suddenly, his warm hands reaching around her front to caress the growing bump. He dropped to his knees to press a series of tender kisses to the taut skin there. “You be kind to your mama today, hm? She's been having a bit of a rough go of it lately…” Rising to stand, he reached for the stick of Shea butter balm, removed the cap, and began to roll it over her stomach in soothing circles. She had grown self-conscious of the opaque lines that had started to grow on her belly in the months leading up to their child's birth but he remained steadfast in his utter adoration and admiration for her and what her body was doing for them, regardless. “How are you feeling today, gorgeous girl?”
She had considered the question carefully; mulled over each possible answer in her mind and sighed softly, opting for the truth. “I'm tired today, Alex.” And she was. She had known that they were approaching the tail-end of this whirlwind adventure. Knew that in the next few months their baby would be earth-side with them, knew in her heart how quickly time would pass until then.
He smiled down at her, his azure blue eyes glassy and utterly empathetic. “I'm sure you are. I have two meetings in the city today, and then I'm all yours for the next couple of weeks. What do you say we grab dinner out tonight?”
A small sigh of relief before her lips curved up into a half smile. “I'd say you got yourself a date, Skarsgård.”
And then there was the moment she had woken up from a dead sleep three weeks before she gave birth. A slick sheen of perspiration covered every square inch of her body as she fought for a proper breath, and Alexander- bless his heart, in his sleep-heavy state had assumed that this was it. He had leapt out of bed, hand poised around the leather handle of the diaper bag next to his night side table. It, of course, wasn't it- rather she had been the victim of a nightmare of such terror that she could not begin to explain, or quantify, but that had shaken her to her very core. She was gripped with a fear the likes of which she had never felt before or since. It was a palpable, ugly thing that sidled itself inside her chest and caused tears to rush in rivers down her cheeks. All Alexander could do was hold her tight and rock her until the heaving stopped, the seemingly bottomless well of saltwater behind her eyes dry for the time being.
“What on earth is going on, kid?”
She had taken a deep breath, her eyes felt as if someone had dried them with sheets of sandpaper. “I'm scared, Alex.”
He clicked his tongue and held her ever tighter to his chest. “Of course you are. Of course you are. That's completely normal, my love.”
She trembled violently beneath him. “I need to feel like I'm not going to fuck this child up somehow… I need to know I'm going to be okay at this.”
Alexander pressed his lips to her temple, his warm breath as it fanned out over her face helped to quell her panic somewhat. “You're going to be okay at this,” He rubbed reassuring circles into the small of her back. “We're going to be okay at this. Together. We're going to make mistakes- that's a given. But there’s no way this child won't know love. Because it lives right here with us.”
One Monday morning, about a week prior to giving birth, she had found herself admiring the finishing touches to their nursery. A wooden rocking chair- possibly her most favourite part of the room, stood unsuspecting in the corner next to the open window. It was cracked to help the heady scent of fresh paint dissipate and she held her arms a little tighter to herself to ward off the early morning May breeze. A brand-new bookshelf was already chockful with material- titles ranging anywhere from The Very Hungry Caterpillar, to Where the Wild Things Are, to The Little Book of Fika- stood next to the rocking chair. Adorning the top of the shelf were photographs from their maternity shoot, some framed sonograms and a bear-shaped lamp. The walls had been washed in a soft beige, with Alexander insisting on some kind of fun decal- a tall tree and a rainbow helped to spruce up the adjacent accent wall. The whimsical plush animals of their baby’s mobile swayed gently in the breeze and she smiled to herself again. Reaching for the radio next to the crib, she flicked it on and braced herself against the wooden railing to stretch. Everybody Wants to Rule the World had come on and she dropped her head back and began to dance to the calming sway of the song. Regrettably, she hadn’t done much of it all during her pregnancy, but it felt necessary and wonderful to be as connected as possible to the little light inside of her before they were separated for good.
“Whatcha doing there, mama?”
Not noticing her sudden company until he had made himself known, she splayed her hands around her bump and beamed up at Alexander from his perch in the doorway. “I’m dancing this baby out, papa.”
“Mind if I join you?”
Her smile grew tenfold. “We’d love that.”
Alexander closed the short distance and wrapped himself around her; the velvet-soft rust coloured sweater that he had chosen for the day reminded her of the miniscule onesie tucked away in the dresser a few feet away. She leaned into his touch, letting his embrace warm the pair of them wholly. “Are you ready?” She murmured, after a while.
“Not even remotely,” He confirmed. “But that’s the beauty of it, isn’t it?”
Their baby girl arrived early in the morning of the twenty-first of May. At about six pounds thirteen ounces, she was almost incomprehensively small but easily the most beautiful creature they had ever laid eyes on. She fit nearly perfectly in the palm of Alexander’s hands and came complete with ten miniscule fingers and toes. Her eyes, when they were open, were a breathtaking hue of blue- one of the countless things her papa had bestowed her. A name had been elusive to them until they were in the comfort of their own home, her tiny frame swallowed up by an expert swaddle, and tucked easily inside the crook of Alexander’s forearm. “Well, what do you think kid?” He peered down at her, his eyes tired, but alight with a fire she had become familiar with in the days after their baby's arrival.
“I think it’s a beautiful name, Alex.”
He cleared his throat and blinked back a couple of tears as he gazed down at his sleeping daughter. “Welcome to the world, Maja Elizabeth Skarsgård. We love you endlessly already.”
And he had been right all along, of course.
It was never going to be easy and sleep was never going to be readily available again. They were going to screw up somewhere down the line. But to be blissfully hopeful for the future and for their family was easy- because love lived there.

going with bill to the family summerhouse and the whole Skarsgård clan are there. the weather isn’t the best and takes a huge turn for the worst when a storm comes. papa S does trust his kids to know better but everyone is banned from going outside until conditions get better. after a few days the boys start to butt heads over the most basic things because let’s be honest that much testosterone all cooped up is a disaster waiting to happen. tiger finds it funny watching bill revert back to being a child and wrestling alex to the floor for using the last of the butter and just the boys being boys and tiger teasing bill about being this dramatic as a kid
okay but I LIVE FOR THIS CONCEPT.
Listen, I love brothers. There is something so special about the brotherly dynamic in a big family, when they're close. Brothers horsing around and being harmless, lovable idiots with each other is the only acceptable context to the phrase boys will be boys and that is final. I love it so very much.
And like, the Skarsgards....man, they are big boys. They are big boys and they're big goofballs, sometimes there are certain things Bill does that you can just SEE the annoying big brother come out, and sometimes his brothers to things to him and you can SEE the annoyed younger sibling in the way his demeanour changes. I fucking live for those moments, they are so precious.
And like, the thing with growing up in a big family is once you start to have your own space--say, your own apartment, your own career, your own separate group of friends--you really start to hold those things near and dear to your heart. It's why Bill is so protective of tiger in those scenarios. But it's also why, even though they all love each other, getting them back into the same house for a week is usually a recipe for disaster.
And it's not even tempers getting short, it's not nerves being frayed. It's just....brothers. And over the course of a week, it starts to take less and less confrontation to initiate a full on wrestle match as tiger kind of just marvels at them all--marvels in the way that, you know you'd marvel at a bunch of gorillas beating their chests in a zoo. tiger thinks it's a fascinating study of testosterone in its natural, weird element.
It starts off innocent enough. Alex pours a bowl of cereal, right as Bill takes the half-empty carton of milk from the fridge and chugs the entire contents of it. They have more milk--the Skarsgards have to buy groceries in bulk--but the other milk is downstairs in the other fridge and Alex doesn't want to go get it. So instead--much less effort--he grapples Bill, gets him into a headlock and hip checks him into the cupboards. Bill struggles, tries to wrap his hands around one of Alex's legs to throw him backwards.
Tiger sits at the table, quietly drinking her coffee as two very big boys engage in a full on wrestling match in front of her. It only stops when Gustaf walks in, breaks it up, swats both of his brothers upside the head.
Another time maybe they're all in the living room, Bill sprawled on the couch with his feet on the coffee table. And Valter, who had gone to get a snack--comes back in and like, he wants to sit on the other side of the couch. But the problem is, in the open space all the dogs are lying down and he doesn't want to disturb him, but his other passage way is blocked by Bill's daddy long lanky legs. And like, Bill doesn't feel like moving his legs so suck it, Valter.
Valter grabs his legs and deadass pulls him off the couch. Bill lands on the floor but puts his rudimentary jiu-jitsu training to good use, taking Valter down with him.
Tiger snags the popcorn from Valter's hand, settling back and leaning a bit on Gustaf as they watch it all go down.
"Should you...?" she asks, motioning to them. Gustaf barely spares them a glance, before grabbing some popcorn and turning his attention back to the screen.
"Nah."
The next time, maybe it's just that--Bill had a hankering for his fancy Madeleines that he makes sometimes, both because he likes them but he also knows that tiger loves them. So he sets her up in the kitchen, she's tackling a puzzle and having some tea and Bill gets to work. He even packed his Madeleine pans, in case of a cookie emergency. He gives them a wash, gets his ingredients out, and meanwhile Alex saunters in to make some toast. And while Bill is so carefully measuring out and weighing all of his ingredients, Alex gets a shit-eating grin on his face and deadass stares his brother down. And right as Bill goes looking for the butter Alex grabs it, and proceed to schmear the entire thing on his toast.
It's too much butter. That schmear was unnecessary and embellished in every way. There is an entire stick of butter on just two pieces of toast. But Alex just licks his fingers, picks up his toast, and clears nearly the whole piece in one bite.
"You son of a bitch," Bill seethes, clobbering him off the head with a spatula. And then it ensues--Bill in an apron, this time with Alex in a headlock, cursing in Swedish and various sounds of a struggle are heard.
"Oh what have we here?" Gustaf asks kindly as he walks in, ignoring the situation at hand, "A puzzle?"
it's just a week of this. Of tempers flaring and inappropriate responses to issues that shouldn't even be issues and I am HERE FOR IT.

Dan Prior → Bill Skarsgård → Vampire
→ Basic Information
Age: 119
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Straight
Birthday: October 29th
Zodiac Sign: Scorpio
Religion: Atheist
→ His Personality Dan never wanted the vampire life he was given. It plays into his daily lackadaisical, negative and depressed attitude. Outwardly to those who do not know him, Dan personifies the stereotypical 'rich spoiled boy' who hides behind his wealth and Getta status. However those who truly know him know that Dan is sensitive and lonesome in nature, due to the death of his love and being forcibly changed into a vampire. He is loyal and kind to Getta, as well as his caretaker Sadie. Dan exhibits a genuine desire to be a good person, but it is hidden behind his brooding nature and quick hostility towards those who he believes are too quick to judge him. Dan refuses to be kind or change in order to make friends or change people's outlook of him. He believes that those you accept him now, as is, are the only ones who deserve him in their lives at all.
→ His Personal Facts
Occupation: Student at Hema Academy
Scars: The Bite Mark That Changed Him
Tattoos: None
Two Likes: The Underground and Witches Blood
Two Dislikes: Blood Tears and Human Blood
Two Fears: Day Phobia and Drinking (Guilty Blood Drinker)
Two Hobbies: Brooding and Baseball
Three Positive Traits: Adventurous, Ernest, Innocent
Three Negative Traits: Hostile, Rebellious, Unenthusiastic
→ His Connections
Parent Names:
Wallace Prior (Father): Dan could never live up to his father's expectations.
Bernadette Prior (Mother): Dan was a great disappointment to his mother.
Sibling Names:
None
Children Names:
None
Romantic Connections:
Winona Fili (Deceased Girlfriend): The time they shared together was too short for Dan but the memories will stay with him forever. She was the love of his life.
Platonic Connections:
Rachel Sloane (Best Friend): He was blood hungry for Rachel when he first saw her as a human but when she became a vampire and was betrayed, they became inseparable. Rachel has been a help to him just as he has been a help to her.
Chiara Ricci (Friend): Chiara is pretty cool. Some of the vampires can have cold and gray personalities but Chiara is bright and lights up Dan’s night.
Sadie McCoy (Guardian): Dan wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for Sadie. She has put up with his bullshit and mourning for decades but she is still around. If she wasn’t such a good friend Dan would consider her a mother or older sister figure.
Scorpius Getta (Guardian): Getta calls himself Dan’s grandfather since he was Winona’s maker but Dan sees him as nothing more than his annoying ex-future father-in-law and at times a whining mother hen. Dan respects him.
Richard Fili (Family): Fili was equally as devastated as Dan when Winona was taken from them. He was always nice to Dan and it meant a lot since he was Winona progeny. Dan still cringes whenever Fili calls him dad, sir or papa.
Aleksander Mazur (Family): Alek wasn’t nice to Dan when Winona started bringing him around. They didn’t really bond until after her death. They’re family and no one can tell them otherwise. They would kill for each other.
Raphael Caron (Family): Dan and Raphael hit it off the first time they met. Raphael always went out of his way to be nice to him and considers Dan his little brother. Dan appreciates Raphael putting up with him and never giving up hope.
Fiona ‘Fi’ Marz (Family): Fiona annoyed the crap out of Dan but they bonded soon after Winona's death, when she started telling Dan stories that Winona never had the chance to share. Dan learned to enjoy her company without the stories.
Morana ‘Ana’ Vickors (Acquaintance): Dan doesn’t remember Ana before his change and he doesn’t remember much about her after his change. He remembers her coming more into the picture after Getta took over the Underground. They haven’t had the chance to truly develop their friendship but Dan wouldn’t mind it.
Clarisse Fields (Old Acquaintance): Clara was a part of the same rich society that his parents tried to force him into. She was surprised to see him as a vampire and he was surprised to find out that she was a bear animal shifter. They shared pleasantries and Dan asked for updates about his parents when they were alive.
Hostile Connections:
Petra Chak (Annoyance): Petra nose is too high up to notice that Dan doesn’t give a rat’s ass about her, her history or her age ranking. She can go fuck herself.
Sven (Unknown): Sven offered way too many times to help him end his life. Dan is unsure if he’s trying to be helpful or if he truly hates him.
Chen Ying Yue (Annoyance): Chen is cool but annoyingly happy.
Paul Stone (Hate): When he found out what happened to Rachel, Paul joined his shit list. Dan makes sure to turn on the hungry eyes when he is near.
Pets:
Melissa (Black Cat): He found her in the Underground. A few younger vampires wanted to kill her and see how she tasted. Dan got to her first and has kept her safe.
→ History Dan was the only son and child of Bernadette and Wallace Prior. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. They were one of the wealthiest families in Illinois. Growing up, Dan didn’t give off the personification of the stereotypical rich white boy. He hated his parent’s money and the expectations that came with it. He hated not being able to make normal friends and attend normal functions. He hated that people hated him for his money and even more, hated him because he didn’t want his money. He couldn’t fit in anywhere. He attended piano, gymnastics, tennis, horseback riding, swimming and boxing alone. After getting into fight after fight in private elementary school his parents sent him away to boarding school for middle school. When he returned home for high school, Dan was more bitter than ever. He was introduced to alcohol during his freshman year and cigarettes during his sophomore year. During his junior and senior years, Dan had tried nearly every drug in the book but chose to stick with the basics, alcohol and cigarettes.
It was towards the end of his senior year when Dan snuck out and joined a few of the seniors from school for a trip to the theater. That’s where he met Winona. Her eyes shined and her skin was pale as she brushed past him with a group of friends towards the theater. Dan literally felt chills run down his spine. Throughout the movie, his eyes were transfixed on her a few rows down. Every time she tossed back her hair or when she laughed hard enough to make her shoulders shake, his breath caught. He had met a few fast girls and wasn’t blind to them wanting his money, but this was the first time he had met anyone he wanted to personally pursue. As his and her companions left one by one, Dan made his move, but she had already appeared in front of him in a fit of giggles. She must have noticed him earlier and one of her friends had informed her of his glaze. He was speechless. They kept meeting at the theater every Friday night for a few weeks before Dan asked to make it official. She seemed hesitant at first but with an approving nod from who Dan always assumed was her older brother, Getta, she said yes. They continued dating at other sites, but it was always at night. Dan was ready to take her home to his parents on the night of his graduation, but his parents argued that she was not good enough for their name or their networking groups and possibly was using him for his money. Dan left the house in a storm and met Winona at their usual meeting place. He told her about his parents, and she told him about her being a vampire.
Dan was reintroduced to the world around him. Winona allowed him to take in the information she laid on him. A week later she showed him proof and took him to the Underground. She reintroduced Getta as her maker and showed off her sired sisters and brother. It was another three weeks later, after learning everything he could in his free time, that Winona talked about him becoming a Zygote. Dan declined without much thought. He hated the thought of eternity, being forever young and the thought of surviving on blood. It shocked everyone he was starting to become friends with Underground. He loved Winona like he never loved before and wanted to be with her but life as a vampire wasn’t on his list. He was going to start college; his parents had a list of potential wives that he didn’t want and multiple threats about being disowned. His plate was full, and his head was ready to explode. He wanted Winona to be his forever and was considering accepting her offer once he had more information. His choice was taken from him when Winona’s seethe master found out about them. The seethe master killed Winona for breaking the seethe rules and forcibly changed Dan. When Dan awoke, Getta and Sadie were around him, mourning their loss and the sad new world that Dan would be forced to endure. He didn’t want to live forever, but he was willing to spend it with Winona but now she was gone, and he was a lonely immortal creature.
→ The Present Dan was on suicide watch for years. He yelled, rebelled and refused to drink. He was mourning the loss of Winona and the loss of his human life. He was unable to go home or say goodbye to his parents. His face was on every local paper and every cop was looking for him around town; everywhere but Underground. He was livid at everyone. The seethe master for forcibly changing him and killing Winona. Sadie for trying to comfort him when he wanted to be alone. Getta for not stopping it ahead of time. Aleksander for holding him down and forcibly pouring blood down his throat. Petra for acting unaffected. Raphael for being young and happy all the time, and Fiona for trying to make a bond with him now that her sired sister had died. He hated them all and left bite marks wherever he could on them to show it. It was another 10 years before Getta had enough backing to kill the seethe master and succeed him. That was the only time Dan felt joy. He thought he would finally be allowed to die and have his peace wherever the afterlife took him. He was sadly mistaken. Over the years the others grew attached to him, no matter how hard he pushed them away. Dan was sure they just wanted to keep the last of her alive, which was him and refused to believe he had won them over as he wallowed in his grief.

"I remember dad once told me when I was like 15… and he was drunk and we were talking about acting. He put his hand on my shoulder and he was like, (imitating his father’s voice) ‘Gustaf, guys like you and me, we don’t have a choice.’ It’s like doubly captivating because in one sense I felt, you know, chosen. ‘Yeah! Guys like me and dad, we don’t have a choice. We’re inherent actors. That’s what we have to do. That’s our calling.’ And also by believing in what he says, ‘Yeah, I don’t have a choice.’ You know? (chuckles) I think I did believe that. I sort of had that idea all the way through the conservatory and everything. I think it wasn’t until later that I started questioning. When did I ever really choose this? Did I actually really choose this? And I think that, you know, I’ve come to choose this over and over again." — Gustaf Skarsgård, 2018 | Photos via Aftonbladet

"He was always full of energy," says Stellan [about ALEXANDER]. "When we'd walk down the street, he would run ahead to the curb—where he knew to stop—and then run back to me. Then to the curb, then back. Shorter and shorter distances until I caught up." (GQ Magazine, May 2011) (pictures)

oh yay, stellan’s answered some of the questions submitted to the guardian last week!
some of my favorite excerpts with my notes in brackets hehe couldn't resist (he’s a beatles fan yeahhhh man that’s my guy):
Do you get tired of being cast as a smart person? Yeah. One of my favourite roles was in The Simple-Minded Murderer that I won the actor’s prize for in Berlin sometime in the last century [1982]. He was a man who was very lovable, not very smart, treated really badly and was also the hero of the story. It was a lovely role to play. I would really love to play more stupid people. There’s so many of them; you just have to open the paper. [note: STELLAN,, MY GUY,]
Was your career affected by having eight children? I’ve learned so much with my children that it has probably been very positive. And also since I finished at The Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm in 1989, I haven’t done any theatre and I’ve only worked for four months a year, so I’ve changed diapers for 40 years. I cooked a lot for the children and I’ve seen them grow up and I usually brought them all when we travel. So I’ve had a real normal life and the only way it’s affected me is that I’ve been able to steal from my children because in them you see humanity in its raw form, unhidden. You can look at a three-year-old and then you can play the president of the United States no problem, because you understand him. [note: had to read this twice before i understood that he was comparing trump to a three-year-old child aaaahasdl;hfakl;s]
[note: taking film roles that only took blocks of time must've freed him a lot to be able to be at home, i imagine. according to the dramaten, while he was there he had 38 roles in 35 different theater productions in a span of 16 years. simultaneously, he had 31 film/tv productions during that time. man, he worked hard when he was starting out and both alexander and gustaf have said in interviews that he spent so much time working back then.]
What does being Swedish mean to you? It does affect you to have grown up in a country that was like a bubble in the world in terms of having better social security and healthcare than anywhere else. It’s a very secularised society and fantastic in that sense. When I was a kid we still had obligatory Christian lessons in school, but that stopped when I was 10. My parents were atheists and my father was vehemently against any social rules. That wasn’t always good. But it gave me an idea of freedom. You did not accept any authority other than authority from competence. I don’t respect anybody because he’s rich or powerful or owns half the world. That doesn’t mean anything. But if I see a cobbler who is really, really good at fixing my shoes then I respect him.
[note: it's nice how this is along the same lines as when he talked about his children respecting him: 'I don’t want [my children] to respect me because I’m their father. The only respect you should have is the one you earn. Respect is such a weird word. I like them to appreciate me for what they think is worth appreciating me for, but not just because I put my penis into their mother. That doesn’t earn me much respect does it? It happens all the time.' (The Guardian, 2014)]
What are your top dos and don’ts for fatherhood? Don’t lie. Even if they ask you very difficult questions at a very young age, be truthful. Otherwise sooner or later they will realise: oh my God, my parents have been lying to me. Even about Santa Claus. He does not exist. At least there’s no proof of existence. And don’t interfere. You have to give them so much love and security when they are young that from the age of about 16, all the decisions are theirs.
Which art form is gives you creative inspiration other than films? Literature. I read a lot. I just read Colm Tóibín’s The Magician, about Thomas Mann. That was fantastic. Now I’m reading a quite entertaining book that is a little lighter: Harlem Shuffle by Colson Whitehead. It’s fun. Not as dark as his previous books.
The Beatles or the Rolling Stones? Or Abba? At the time it was the Beatles for me, totally. I ordered Sgt Pepper from England before it was out in Sweden. The Rolling Stones I love now. Back then, you had to take sides; now I can love them equally. When Abba broke through in the 70s, I was in my 20s and doing my best to be an artist with a very dark mind. And it was far too light for me. Now I can listen to them and enjoy it.
I loved Mamma Mia!, such a fun, sunny movie! If you were Bill in real life, would you prefer to know if you were or weren’t the father, or would you be happy to remain a theoretical third-share? The end solution was really good: they shared. I wouldn’t prefer to know because there was a 66% chance I wouldn’t be the father and that would have been sad.
Have you ever smoked cannabis? Yeah.

‘I'm trying not to be a dad on the set [of MELANCHOLIA (2011), dir. Lars von Trier)], but it's hard. As soon as Alexander's character says "dad" I hear myself answer "yes",’ [Stellan] then said with a laugh. (x)

#papa skarsgård being a papa: “[Working with my sons is] really interesting because you think the same way. You very quickly come to the conclusion about how a scene should be done. And you don't have to talk much about it. You're just, 'Oh yeah. Yep. Yeah. Alright. Yeah. I know. Exactly. Let's do it that way.' It's very shorthand in that sense. But then it's also ridiculous. Like, we were talking about [ARN: THE KNIGHT TEMPLAR (2007) and ARN: THE KINGDOM AT THE END OF THE ROAD (2008)] which is a Swedish attempt at being grandiose...” — Stellan Skarsgård
