I immediately fell in love with Jane the Virgin after the pilot episode. Most shows start off slow, and if I’m watching the second episode, it’s usually to give the show a chance. But off the bat, I felt Jane was funny, animated, dramatic and interesting all at the same time. Plus there were three Latin women at the forefront (double minorities whaaat?!). I just couldn’t get enough. But then there was a point in time where I questioned why I was still such a faithful viewer. Jane had lost her virginity, and although they cleverly renamed the show each episode by crossing out “Virgin” and replacing it with another way to describe her, I couldn’t help but think there wasn’t much more of a story to tell. But boy was I wrong!
I regained interest in the show after Jane’s husband Michael died at his LSAT exam. That was a plot twist I was not expecting at all. I should’ve known something was up though when the narrator began that episode with “When Michael Cordero Jr. was so & so years old…” instead of his normal “When Jane Gloriana Villanueva was so & so years old...” I was quite upset about that incident. I was always Team Michael when it came to Jane’s love triangle with him and Rafael. Also, this was now technically the second time the showrunners killed him, the first time being when he got shot on his wedding night. I prayed that maybe he’d recover this time around too. But the show fast forwarded three years into the future with Jane still not 100% over losing her husband. I knew that Michael had died for real this time, and was curious to see how Jane’s life had changed.
But boy was I wrong again! Michael came back from the dead! It was later revealed that he never really died. The evil crime-lord, Rose, faked his death, gave him amnesia, and sent him to Montana, all because she thought Michael had discovered her identity. At this point in the show, I was stressed, mostly because I’d become Team Rafael now. Things were going so good between the happy couple who was now living together with their son Mateo. Raf was even gonna propose! Michael’s return just made my heart sink, and again, I felt the need to keep watching and see how this would change Jane’s life.
Since Michael wasn’t the same person he was three years earlier, Jane ended up choosing Rafael, and they had a beautiful wedding in the series finale. I’m devastated that the show is over, but I’m extremely pleased with the conclusion. It gave me a vibe like The Office, where we’re watching these events occur and then it’s turned into a telenovela, or a documentary, for people in the show to view. I loved that each character’s story ended happily, and left me with a sense of closure. For instance, it was amazing to learn that Mateo was the narrator this whole time!
I think the character I’ll miss most is Petra, Rafael’s ex-wife and other baby mama. Petra was a badass business woman who didn’t take shit from anyone, and did whatever it took to get what she wanted. Initially, that included a lot of lying and scheming without any sense of remorse. But she changed a lot by the end of the show. I was happy to see her as full owner of the Marbella Hotel, with a plan for franchising across the world, and reunited with her ex-girlfriend JR. I’m gonna miss her witty remarks, her hilariously adorable twin daughters, and her impeccable fashion sense. Her outfits made me want to go shopping in her closet. I’ll also miss Jane’s father, Rogelio de la Vega. I’ll mostly miss the way he said his own name which made me laugh every single time. But I’ll also miss his conceited yet sensitive nature, and his obsession with the color lavender.
I’ve never watched a telenovela, but Jane the Virgin gave me a glimpse into what they might be like. It was an emotional rollercoaster, but I appreciated the laughs, the tears, and the relatable moments that the show provided me with. Thank you to the cast, crew and everyone involved for a great five years. I’m glad I stuck it out til the end 💕

in honor of returning to the rpc, i have created a masterlist of 400 unique and underused female names ! these are all listed in alphabetical order, and although i dont claim any of these as my own, please don’t copy and paste straight into another masterlist. feel free to use the names in any way you like, i hope this gives you muse for your characters (my faves are bolded) — also smash that like or reblog if you found this useful, thank you !
Hey, folks! I saw some other simblrs (i wish i remembered who so i could give credit ;_;) making lists of names for sims so I thought that would be fun to do too! They’re an odd (and some normal) bunch of names that you can use for all sims! Click “keep reading” to see names. I just didn’t want to take up your whole dashboard (it’s super long, sorry)!
Portanto, senta aqui comigo.
Se você quer escrever, you go girl, faça!
É a personalidade peculiar?
I haven’t thought about this very deeply, so here we go! Under a cut to be kind to my dash and any that aren’t done I’ll come back to update later.
Aislinn – This one is based purely on the choreography from the MV because I watched the MV and the two dance versions released with it (solo and partner) and Move spoke volumes to me and helped spark my need to use Aislinn more at the time. Like, the choreography is full of so many little movements, it’s not just the arms and such, it’s every little half beat that’s being counted to and then some.
Ayla – So this one’s really self-explanatory. Ayla’s practically brand new to her current location and she’s doing her best to prove that leaving her home country was a great idea for her and her future. So Foreigner’s Long Long Way From Home goes to my girl
Breanah – Okay so for Bre, I associate her with Could It Be I’m Falling In Love by the Spinners because she has always caught the feelings so quickly in her relationships that she always was worried that she was falling to fast.
Calista – I’m pretty sure Calista is 80s synth pop personified, but the Aha song Take On Me is the first song I think of whenever I do end up making a Calista themed playlist because everything about that specific genre screams Calista. She’s a lot, it’s a lot. They go together.
Camille -- Camille’s juggling like four different hats right now anyway and she’s never once stopped to really breathe except for the couple of weeks of quiet she’s managed to find after having the kids before jumping right back into work be it acting or event planning (and even then, with Autumn she took her with her to work when Hadley was away for work, after TJ was born she did the same until she was ready to put him in the same daycare as Autumn) but I digress, since becoming a parent he’s definitely become more grateful to her mother, even if she’s been in and out of the acting biz since she was a toddler, and God Only Knows is just perfect for how she’s shaped up.
Charlotte -- Charlotte is definitely more on the mellow side and whenever I think of mellow sounding things, Fleetwood Mac is generally my first though and Dreams is just the right amount of mellow that fits her.
Cordelia -- Because Cordelia doesn’t sit still for very long, any and all songs about that sort of restlessness are my first instinct with her and honestly, Papa Was a Rolling Stone is what usually first comes to mind.
Daniel – Alright so, Daniel’s hard to think about a song that I’d associate with him just because he’s…not difficult. But his childhood was kind of like the Karate Kid at one point so I’m going to go with You’re the Best Around from the Karate Kid
Eloi –
Este – to be honest, I think Este leans more towards any Selena song, I really think she resonated with him a LOT, even more as he became an adult and in his early to mid-20s. So for Este, I’m going to say probably Como La Flor
Grace – My first thought was I Wanna Be A Star from the Sailor Moon soundtrack as tongue-in-cheek it would be for her but to be honest real emotion from final fantasy x-2/by Kumi Koda is what I feel like is a better fit for her (and honestly it could be either the English or Japanese version, both are good)
Harper – Harper is not a Hollaback Girl, that’s for sure.
Isla – So, Isla is, and forever will be ridiculously vain so… what better than Carly Simon’s You’re So Vain. But also, and I know I have a long ass headcanon somewhere about it, but Good For You by Selena Gomez is also an Isla song because she won’t admit it but she looks at what her partner’s like/are looking for and tries to make sure she keeps their interest that way (altho who would kick her to the curb I mean…look at her)
Jocelyn – Friends in Low Places by Garth Brooks, I mean there’s not really much of an explanation to it in Jocelyn’s case.
Lucas – So Lucas is a very special case and every part of me screams he needs a big ol’ player anthem because that’s what he is in the long run. My dude is a player. So why not Still Not a Player by Big Pun feat. Joe.
Matthew – Torn is Matt’s low-key theme. For a while (and honestly, he still is at times), he was in heavy denial that any part of him is gay and while he’s started to come to terms with it, he’s still not out to the world, just a few people.
Minah – Minah’s was surprisingly the easiest because I’m pretty sure when I first made her, I was listening to View a LOT so it’s definitely one of the first things I think of when it comes to her.
Navi – Ah Navi, my serial dating daughter. Even though she hasn’t formed an attachment to anybody else the way she has her first and only but she does try for the most part. But I Really Like You is essentially Navi.
Noa –
Petra – Petra is the least grounded and gets into so much shit that she’s the basis of what not to do in her family and like, the point of irresponsibility she’s associated with is so high that she’s not trusted to babysit her younger brother without supervision and so all I can think of with her is Last Friday Night (TGIF)
Remy – My dude is SUCH a sweet puppy that even though is music taste is so different from what I even expect out of him but I really think Remy could have been Neil Diamond at one point in his life. So for Remy, we’re going with Sweet Caroline (fun fact: Breanah’s mom (who is named Caroline) actually hates this song because Bre’s dad would sing it to her ALL the time when they were dating and it was played at their wedding.)
Stella – I immediately associate anything having to do with space with Stella and the first thing that comes to mind is either Life on Mars? or Space Oddity, both by David Bowie.

The film tells the intimate story of an adolescent girl experiencing PMS for the first time. While some girls desperately await their first period to come, especially at an older age when most of their friends have started already, they aren’t prepared for the emotional chaos that comes with it.
I wanted to tell this story as PMS can be a confusing challenge for a lot of women. It can throw us off track month by month and we aren’t really taught how to deal with it. The hormonal imbalance can have severe consequences like falling into depression or anxiety, feeling overcome with anger and impulsive rage as well as craving all the foods in the world to only leave yourself feeling sick after.
Especially as a young girl, when you haven’t experienced these kind of emotions before it can become life consuming and hard to handle. You start to think you’re not “normal” or “psycho” when really it’s just mother nature putting a magical spell on us.
I want to portrait this emotional rollercoaster in an artistic, dreamy and slightly abstract way by telling the story through beautiful and unique visuals. The aim is to make it less of a “gross” taboo topic and encourage young girls not to be ashamed or feel abnormal but to embrace their femininity with all the challenges it can bring.

This is a passion project and will be independently produced on a low
budget. We have brought together a strong female crew equally
passionate about telling this intimate story through our perspective. Due to our connections and personal contacts in the film industry we are
fortunate enough to work up to the highest standards regarding equipment
as well as crew while remaining relatively low in cost.
As we are teaming up with industry professionals the shoot will be on a weekend to accommodate everyone’s work schedule as well
as school related availability for our protagonist.
Dates: June 24/25 – 2 shoot days plus 1 audition day
Location: Country Manor north of London
While our incredible crew has joined us without pay we can’t get around some of the essential production cost – please have a look at the breakdown below. We need your help to raise our goal of £5000 to guarantee the best possible outcome for this project:
***
We had to improvise a little to make the campaign video for Kickstarter, as you can see it looks a bit homemade – that’s because our DOP is away on a job leaving myself and Minni to get creative.. (remember that program on your laptop called photobooth… yup..)
We promise this isn’t a reflection of our professional skills or standards.
But rather than wasting time on making the perfect campaign video we wanted to focus on sharing our message to get the ball rolling as quickly as possible for us to be able to move along with the project. We hope you can forgive us for the “not so fancy” get up …
Ps.: For those of you wondering why the Synopsis says 16 instead of 13 that is because the playing age has just been amended from 13 to 16 in order to give more importance to the desperation of our girl awaiting to start her first period…
