Hello thank you for answering my last question I asked you I love it when you do long post and long answers
💖
I wanted to give a reply to something you mentioned in the post
I've never seen Doctor who but that is something I've wanted to happen for a long while now since getting into RWBY and realizing that Oscar and Oz pin are my favorites
💚
Is that I hope they would somehow maybe get separated maybe somehow the others could get Oscar to the tree like maybe a leaf from the ever after got stuck on their clothes or maybe there's a leaf attached to Ruby that she doesn't know about after getting turned into a tree in the ever after and they make Oscar some ever after tea and he
💖
ascends from remnant to the tree in the ever after and then he and us come back to remnant to help with the final fight that is something I hope for cuz at the end of it all I'll just be sad with with whoever we lose because I really like both of them so much and I can't imagine Oscar without ozpin
💛
But since Oscar's story is also the Little Prince and I believe that Oz is supposed to represent the pilot in his life at some point they are supposed to separate but maybe
💜
if we're lucky that means they'll just separate as people and us and will get a body somehow
💚
I was actually hoping while they were in Atlas that that Oscar would maybe take up engineering and make ozpin a body
💜
I saw you mentioned in a post that you hoped Oscar would maybe doing apprenticeship under Penny's dad
I was hoping for something like that too and have it where Oscar makes Android kind of like penny and he makes it for oz so he could maybe use the staff to separate himself from ozpin that could maybe still happen but I don't know there are still other Atlas research facilities that could be used to make another Penny or even another Android like person similar to Penny who runs off Aura but instead of Aura they just put another soul into it
Oz/ozpin soul
These are just my thoughts on it and the hopes I have for the future when it comes to what's going to go down with the merge mainly just them separating cuz that's something I know I would just love to see happen cuz I want to see them interact with each other in person not as the same person 😄
Hello again Autumn. You are most welcome m’fam. Happy to hear that you liked my last response post and thanking you in advance for giving me an open opportunity to further discuss the Oscar the Sorceror’s Apprentice Pinehead headcanon concept I tossed into the Pinehead ether.
Happy to hear you liked the idea and also shared similar sentiments and ideas.
For me, Oscar going to the Tree in the Ever After is actually the whole reason I’m willing to bet dollars to doughnuts that the concept of Oz and Oscar being separated is a possibility.
THE SPLIT
Back when V8 first dropped and we got the whole scene of Penny being turned into a human through the power of the Relic of Creation, I made a post expressing that the writers basically opened the gateways for Oscar to do something similar.
If Team RWBY could use the Relic of Creation to basically turn their former comrade who was a living robotic puppet into a real girl with a beating heart and everything; then there should be nothing on Remnant that could stop Oscar from doing something similar.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If the Ever After and the Tree are to never ever return to the main RWBY narrative or rather, if Oscar Pine is to never be fated to cross paths with the Blacksmith of the Tree then surely, as an already established alternative, Oscar should AT LEAST be able to use the Relic of Creation to ask Ambrosious to separate his soul from Oz’s, splitting the two apart and therefore granting Oz(ma) his own form. Possibly his own original form that he never regained from the Brother Gods.
Tumblr media
If Ambrosious could turn Penny into a human girl then there shouldn’t be anything stopping him from freeing Oscar from the Merge by splitting him away from Oz(ma). It’s literally the same principle as Penny. Taking an living being that has a soul but not a true real body of their own and granting them said body. Instead of Ambrosious turning a robot girl into a human girl, he could have the very creatively challenging new project of separating a person with two souls into two separate beings with their own individual identities.
The only drawback of a potential split between the two souls is Ambrosious not being knowledgeable enough on either Ozma or Oscar to differentiate which soul is which. That and the fact that I doubt Ambrosious will be able to undo Ozma’s curse. He is technically a creation of the Brother Gods no different than man. So there is a chance for both Oscar and Oz(ma) to be cursed with immortality.
So in a nutshell, given that the Merge was already happening at such an accelerated rate, I can’t see the Split happening without side effects.
So basically what I’m saying here is that I can more likely see a very similar scenario to Penny back in V8 with Oscar in V10. Meaning I can see our heroes desperately needing to seek out reclaiming the Staff of Creation to use it to save Oscar from the Merge.
But unlike with Penny, saving Oscar with the Staff of Creation came with potential risks that could prove detrimental to both souls. There was always the chance for Team JNR_RWBY to do more harm to Oscar even though the Split was actually meant to help him, now that I think about it.
It is for this reason why I can actually more see the Split being a wicked idea of Salem. I can picture Salem once again kidnapping Oscar and using the Staff of Creation to force poor Ambrosious to split the two souls apart.
The last time Oscar was Salem’s prisoner, she failed with him since he and Oz were a united front that worked together to free themselves by sowing seeds of doubt in Salem’s more apprehensive members like Hazel and Emerald. I can definitely see Salem not making the same mistake twice so this time she destroys the very thing that made Oscar and Oz a formidable unit---their union.
Tumblr media
I can see Salem forcibly splitting Oscar and Oz apart---practically yanking the two souls out of Oscar’s now soulless corpse and holding them both at her mercy.
Tumblr media
And to add more salt to this wounding theory, I can even picture Salem torturing Oscar’s fragile soul, threatening to “kill” him first if Oz(ma) didn’t reveal to her the location of the last Relic----the Relic of Choice.
Yes, I can definitely more see Salem doing something like this.
Causing a Split as a way to simultaneously kill them both Oscar and Oz(ma) and put a permanent end to the cycle.
Tumblr media
I can see this possibility just as much as I can see the possibility of this ending two different ways, neither in Salem’s favour.
Either Salem induces a Split between Oscar and Oz(ma) and the whole ordeal results with the souls finally becoming one with Oscar completing the Merge but being recognizably different from past incarnations in the cycle, at least to Salem because he is noticeably stronger.
Basically picture Oscar having a Wanda becomes the Scarlet Witch infront of Agatha in Wandavision moment but with Salem. Pardon if you haven’t seen Wandavision either, by the way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m gonna call this Pinehead possibility --- Oscar Becomes the Gold Sorcerer as my interpretation of Oscar completing the Merge and becoming a great and powerful wizard who is like Ozpin/Ozma, but not quite, as Oscar once boldly put it.
Tumblr media
And of course, you know already that my alternative to this is my idea for a Oscar the Sorcerer's Apprentice Pinehead possibility:
Salem uses the Staff of Creation to induce the Split but it doesn’t work out in her favour because it results in Oscar and Oz(ma) becoming two separate beings, both now equally great and powerful since Oscar can now use magic just as competently as Ozma.
And after all this happens, Oscar basically becomes new Ozma’s apprentice, being trained by him in the ways of magic and more importantly, being a second major problem for Salem due to his growing mastery of the mystic arts.
Y’know come to think of it, this is exactly what happened in the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special. The villain of the story shoots the Doctor with a weapon that was meant to kill him but instead of generating like he always did, the Doctor instead undergoes a bi-generation for the first time in Who history where he splits apart into two Doctors. A rather humiliating issue for the villain since he basically doubled his own Doctor problem.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That being said, I too would very much like a somewhat similar “Ha-ha. Teehee. Bitch you thought” kind of comeuppance for Salem where instead of permanently killing her ex-husband turned mortal enemy and his new “young face”, she instead unintentionally brings her said ex-husband back to life with him not only recovering his younger, devilishly attractive form---the SAME form she originally first fell in love with.
Tumblr media
But now, that same young protegee of said ex-husband has inherited some of his magic and his combat skills as a result of Salem trying to kill them both via Split so now Salem has twice the problems she had before.
And for the final whammy, said fully revived great and powerful ex-husband and his equally great and powerful young protegee are gonna team up with their gaggle of friends to kick Salem’s grimm mummy ass, inclusive of the silver-eyed wild card who’s got a huge stickler for Salem since y’know, she might have killed her mom or caused her disappearance (that is still up in the air). Either way, things would not be good for Salem if something like that were to happen to her.
Between these two possibilities, now I really want the Split to become a real thing to happen for V10.
I want Oz(ma) to be revived into his own immortal body, completely separate from Oscar.
I want to have Oz(ma) and Oscar be split apart instead of merging together.
And, most importantly of all, I want all of this to happen because Salem tried to initially kill Oscar and Oz via a Split only for it to backfire on her big time because it would be the most hilarious “F*** you!” moment to Salem.
I mean, implications aside, I don’t hate Salem at all. I actually quite like her a lot as a villain character. However who am I to resist a potentially juicy humbling moment like this for Salem?
After all the wins she’s been having for the past few seasons, what’s funnier than a major big bad villain unintentionally reviving their greatest arch nemesis and creating double the problems they had with them before AFTER trying to kill them for good? I mean c’mon!
It’s such a picture perfect “SCREW OVER THE VILLAIN” moment by RWBY standards that I now wholeheartedly want this to happen in the canon. It may not happen ever but humour me. This would be pretty darn good if it actually happened canonically.
I would scream if Salem tried to kill Oscar and Oz(ma) permanently and it instead grants them the freedom they both desired. Forget the Tree.
Give me Salem tries to kill Oscar/Oz with the Staff of Creation and it instead splits the two apart with both Oscar and a now fully revived and still very much immortal Ozma retaining their magical powers and combat skills.
Tumblr media
That’s my new headcanon.
And if I wish to further define the “catch” with this Split. Obviously, like I mentioned, I would want the Split to come with certain amenities like:
Both souls retain their original memories and individual identities.
Both souls retain shared combat knowledge and magical abilities inherited from Ozma. Only Oscar’s control of his magic is better than Ozma’s since, while Ozma chooses to use his Long Memory as a conduit to channel his magic through, Oscar fights freehand (like Salem).
So right away, both souls have different combat styles despite sharing the same level of magic.
I say this because I really, really like the idea of Oscar using magic freehand.
The Long Memory is Ozma’s weapon. He is the soul with the real attachment to the cane since it’s been his fateful weapon since his very first life. Oscar only inherited it as the current life. From the few times Oscar has used magic canonically, he’s been shown to possess good control of it without needing the cane.
So let him go all Doctor Strange on everyone and be conjuring magical shit with his bare hands. It’ll be totally badass and Oscar deserves to be a badass on his own at this point. I totally would wanna see that. As a Pinehead, wouldn’t you?
Perhaps both Oscar and Ozma can even retain some of each other’s shared memories and mannerisms. Like for example, Oscar still carries himself and shares the same speech mannerisms as Ozma while Ozma could still instinctively read and often even feel Oscar’s emotions as if they were his own as a result of sharing a body with him for so long.
In terms of looks in respect to New Ozma: At first I thought it would be cool if Ozma looked exactly like Diggs---his first life after he was first revived. I wanted this look in particular since this is the form Ozma shared the most time with Salem. They even started a family together and had four children. So for me, this face holds the most significance to Salem outside of Ozma’s original form because unlike that form, Salem had a life with this one.
Original Ozma only had promised adventures and hard days where Salem had to watch her beloved slowly succumb to an incurable illness not even the god-given power of magic could heal him from.
First life Ozma or Diggs, as I dubbed him, was Salem’s partner in life. Her lover. Her husband. The father of her children and the king of the new world empire they built together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If Ozma were to be revived, I can picture his new design being an amalgamation of his original face and his first reincarnation’s. I can picture new Ozma with similar features to his first life---tall, confident, strong and handsome with dark skin. But his hair will still be an unkept mess of fluffy white hair, just like Diggs but in a similar style to his original form or perhaps Ozpin’s.
Tumblr media
And perhaps as a result of the Split and a way to have Oscar rub off on him physically, new Ozma could also have hazel eyes. Only his are not as green as Oscar’s. More light brown with green flecks. I think I can see that working better.
And of course, if new Ozma were to have a distinct voice, I would naturally envision him being voiced by none other than Mr. Shannon Mcormick himself. Not only did Shannon voice Ozpin as fans know but he also voiced Diggs---Ozma’s first reincarnation. The version of Ozma who was Salem’s partner. So it’s practically perfect.
---
So basically new Ozma will be very very much a fusion of the two versions of him who spent the most time with Salem. A time when he was deeply in love with her.
And y’know what? A part of me is even willing to believe that deep down Ozma still loves Salem unconditionally. After all this time and after everything she’s put him through throughout the life times, I think he still very much loves her. He still loves the woman he saved from the lonely tower and fell in love with.
You really expect me to believe that this man doesn’t still love Salem? May I remind folks that this is the same man that first said no to the God of Light when he was first propositioned to become humanity’s saviour. It’s very telling when you remember that Ozma only agreed to return to Remnant because it provided him a sliver of a chance to reunite with the woman he once loved and still loved.
Remember finding Salem was Ozma’s first priority once reincarnating. Not uniting humanity like Light asked him to. Light asked Ozma to ignore Salem and focus on humanity but Ozma did not listen. He did the opposite and only remembered his mission after he realized that him being with Salem did not align with his mission to the Gods.
There is so much left to dissect from Ozma and Salem’s former relationship.
Salem once asked her beloved Ozma, through Oscar, about why he kept coming back. And again, I’m willing to bet dollars to doughnuts that the reason Ozma keeps coming back outside of his whole curse thing is because there is a lingering part of him that still loves Salem and wishes to save her again, this time from herself, much like he did in his first life. That’s my theory on that and another reason as to why I want a Split to happen instead of a Merge.
A Split provides an opportunity to deeper explore Ozma’s connection to Salem. Learn more about her from Ozma’s perspective beyond what we glimpsed in the Lost Fable episode and beyond what was teased lightly in Fairy tales from Remnant.
Not to mention that a Split is a chance to (potentially) explore a (potential) romance for Oscar to have with Ruby (as the true rose in his little prince story) and highlight how that paralleles with Ozma’s love story with Salem, especially now that he was fully revived but still immortal; unable to fully move on until he united humanity and stopped his former beloved for good.
Genuinely, I actually really liked Ozma’s love story with Salem and given what I know about their shared story, I’m beginning to think a possible fitting end for their story would be if our heroes succeed in uniting humanity against Salem and that pleases the Gods enough for them to return to live amongst humanity like they said they would; making Remnant whole again.
Tumblr media
So first we had First Remnant when the Gods first shared the world with humanity that was destroyed by the God of Darkness following humanity’s betrayal of the Gods at the hands of Salem.
Then we had current Remnant, which was New Remnant, without the Gods and finally there will be Remnant Third Genesis or Remnant Gen III, for short, when the former four kingdoms are probably living under one united nation situated in what used to be Vacuo and the Gods return with Salem no longer a major problem.
As for Ozma and Salem, instead of “moving on” in the after life---both Ozma and Salem are essentially given a proper third chance at a life together. I mean third time’s the charm as the saying goes, right? Salem is back to her old self, no longer the Mother of the Grimm, corrupted by darkness and wanting to destroy the world.
Her and Ozma are now free of their immortality curses, able to live a brand new life together in Remnant Gen III raising a new generation of their children together.
Probably not the fan favourite ending for Ozma and Salem but this is what I’d personally think would be a good ending for them. Either they get to move on together in the after life after the Gods’ Return or they get to share one last life together happily ever after.
So even if Ozma died before Salem again, this time she wouldn’t have to grieve for him alone as a young widow because a) she would have had the luxury of a longer, much happier life with Ozma where they actually grew old together and b) she would have the support, comfort and company of the many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren she and Ozma bore together.
Tumblr media
I think that would be a rather sweet ending to Salem and Ozma’s love story. I mean it works for this squiggle meister. How about you or ya’ll reading?
---
So yeah, these are examples of things I can see from a Split between Oscar and Ozma. I can go on and on about this but I’ll stop here for now XD Don’t want this response post to be too long otherwise we’ll be here for as a long as Salem has been alive.

Some potential Rosegarden moments/parallels I'd love to see done in a future season of RWBY...
Oscar presumably “dying” and Ruby taking him to a god-like entity (meaning the Blacksmith and the Tree of the Ever After) in a desperate attempt to bring him back to life, mirroring Salem who did the same for Ozma with the Brother Gods back in the Lost Fable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Neo being reborn as a sentient god-like being connected to the Tree of the Ever After, replacing both the Curious Cat and the Jabberwalker and using her newfound abilities to aid Ruby in her second life as repayment for the horrible deeds she did to her in her past life; including using Oscar’s dying form to break her. I really like the potential parallel of Neo returning to use her powers to help Ruby this time by saving Oscar’s life. Perhaps Neo will become somewhat of an Avatar-like being---becoming a bridge between Remnant and the Ever After and being able to transport people to the other world freely and take them to the Tree.
Oscar being taken to the Tree and undergoing his own metamorphosis; although his own is seen as being different from others considering that he was meant to be two souls in one.
Oscar’s transformation taking some time due to the uniqueness of his situation so during the interim period, he is kept safe in the Tree (thanks to Neo) and is visited often by Ruby who begins to realize her true feelings for him in his absence; paralleling the Rose from the Little Prince tale who didn’t return the prince’s feelings until he left her side. So as the little prince slept, his rose patiently waited for the day he would be reborn again and return to her.
Tumblr media
Similar to how Ruby was able to see her mother’s memories by touching her weapon, Oscar would meet the Blacksmith and get to see more memories from his past lives including Ozpin’s who’s life we never got to see more of.
Since one can choose to become someone else while undergoing ascension, imagine if…unlike Ruby who chose herself in the end, let’s say Oscar’s time in the Tree is the opposite of Ruby’s. Imagine if Oscar does chose to become Ozma because he learns from the Blacksmith that he is Ozma. Once upon a time, I shared a Pinehead headcanon that Oscar is the true reincarnation of Ozma. That unlike previous Wizards in the cycle, Oscar is the reincarnation of Ozma’s former form that he never regained when he was revived the first time. So Oscar is the one true Ozma reborn in modern Remnant and that the Merge wasn’t meant to “kill him” but make him whole again. The cycle was always meant to end with Oscar. He was never meant to be just “another one of Ozma’s lives”. He was always destined to be the last one because he is one true Ozma.
So Oscar returns, as his fully realized self with the Long Memory taking a new form to reflect his transformation and complete rebirth. Bonus if we get another moment of Oscar saying "Not quite" as a nice callback to his V5 moment against Lionhart.
Tumblr media
Oscar arriving to save/protect Ruby from eminent danger, paralleling all the times she has looked out for him over the seasons.
Oscar returning from the equivalent of death for Ruby because his love and unyielding desire to protect her was enough for him to return to her; mirroring Ozma who only agreed to the God of Light’s plans for him because it gave him a chance to be reunited with his beloved Salem.
Oscar and Ruby fighting together side by side for the first time (similar to Ozma and Salem in the Lost Fable) and their tag-team fight dynamic resembling somewhat of a dance between them throughout which they both exchange smiles with one another; particularly Ruby--- hearkening back to her V2 statement about her not being a “dance-y, prance-y, dance-y girl” only for her first official “dance” to be one on the battlefield where she’s most comfortable.
Tumblr media
Oscar and Ruby escaping near danger together and ending up in a field of flowers (preferably roses) where they realize their love for one another; paralleling Salem and Ozma in the Lost Fable.

Giiirrrrllllll, Miles just confirmed, on cameo, that Oscar's allusion is The Little Prince and I'm like 🥹😆😫🤩🥰. I mean, not that we didn't already see the signs but still - that confirmation is pure serotonin!
Hey there Heart! Yeeeep, I saw the whole clip over on my Twitter cause the Rosegardeners over there were going wild over this yesterday.
Y’know, it’s funny. Speaking for myself here, I’ve been talking about Oscar alluding to the Little Prince since as early as…what? V6? V5 maybe. I’ve spent YEARS sharing so many thoughts, comments and Pinehead headcanons on this very subject and now that it’s been confirmed by Miles, I feel….weird.
Not like in a bad way. Just…I don’t know what to do with this information (yet). It just feels so surreal. Like it’s too good to be true even though it came straight from the horse’s mouth.
All those theories and we were right!
All those folks telling us we were wrong when we were right!
And since Oscar is indeed the little prince of Remnant then you cannot convince me otherwise that Ruby ain’t the rose in his story. His true rose. There’s no denying it now.
Not unless there will be another young rose-themed female character introduced in Vacuo to play the role of the “other rose” to be a rival to Ruby to force Oscar to question his devotion (and love) to her.
A desert rose, as I'll dub her.
Tumblr media
To me, I like the concept of the other rose in Oscar’s story to be the final Maiden---the Summer Maiden---making them a magical being similar to Oscar. And technically the maidens are the envoys of Ozma’s magic so that would’ve been an interesting dynamic to explore. Having Oscar share a connection to a maiden, even if will be temporary in the end.
Anyways, that’s a thought and theory for another time.
Obviously I would love to talk more about it, like I do. However, for now, I’m still just taking it in.
Oscar, the little (golden) prince confirmed!

Remember the garden of roses/ bouquet of roses? I just got a nostalia kick and am attempting to draw Rosa and Arge in bouquet-ish outfits. Time has really flown by- it's already been 4-5 years since both were concepts ^^
Hey there Miki-chan!
Of course, I remember the Garden of Roses and the Bouquet. Hard to forget when you helped to spark the idea with a little Pinehead headcanon that went further than you could imagine.
Damn son! Can’t believe it’s been 4-5 years since those early days of the Garden of Roses. Hot damn O-o
Happy to see you reignite the bouquet torch. I saw your design of Rosa during the week. Looking mighty awesome and Rosa looks beautiful. I cannot wait to see your take on Arge next :D

I think it be cool if we see Oscar as the person we see use plant dust caz I don't think we seeing it in show
Hello anon-chan! Uhm…I’m not quite sure if there is such thing as “plant dust” in the world of Remnant?
Hold on let me take a quick look. *Looks it up* Well whaddaya know! According to RWBY Wiki, plant dust is indeed a form of dust that exists canonically in the series and it’s stated in the description that plant dust is likely used for farming purposes.
That’s interesting. The closest to thing to any earth-related dust we’ve seen in the main animated series is rock dust. Going back to your question, while I’m not sure about the possibility of Oscar utilizing dust as a weapon, I still wish to stick with the Pinehead headcanon of Oscar using earth-based magic.
Tumblr media
Similar to semblances, dust is meant to replicate the elemental effects of magic which Oscar technically possesses. If it wasn’t for the sillyfact that the showrunners wrote in that Oscar is afraid to use magic due to it allegedly accelerating the effects of his inevitable merge with Ozpin which the little prince has voiced not being emotionally ready for---if it wasn’t for that then I could’ve totally seen Oscar using earth magic; having come from a farming background in an earth-based spring kingdom and continent.
Tumblr media
That’s what I would’ve liked to see. But given how the showrunners keep limiting how much magic Oscar can actually use, I think all us Pineheads can canonically look forward to is Oscar simply beating things with the Long Memory. That’s it. That’s all he’d be able to do now as of V8!
He can’t fully use the little percentage of magic he inherited from Ozma through Ozpin because it quickens the Merge (which is just ridiculous) and he can’t use too much of the built up kinetic energy stored in the cane cause it’d blow everyone to smithereens which is also ridiculous! I mean, why even give him these abilities if you’re just going to redact them later and make Oscar not use them at all moving forward? It seems like a waste of an idea.
All that’s left now is Oscar’s so-called semblance; to which…they BETTER NOT take that back too.
I just…as a proud squiggly Pinehead, I find it sooo increasingly frustrating how the showrunners keep nerfing Oscar at every stage in the most ridiculous ways. Let Oscar be great and powerful, dagnabbit! I’m not just saying that because he’s my favourite, I’m saying it because technically Oscar is supposed to be powerful!
Tumblr media
Him being powerful makes more sense than other certain characters in the show being powerful (*coughsWeisscoughs*).
Not only does he draw inspiration from Princess Ozma---the most powerful magic user in all of Oz in the Wizard of Oz series. But in the context of RWBY, Oscar is the current reincarnation of one of the last wizards in Remnant. The only person who has ever defeated Salem and would’ve ended her reign eons ago if the dynamic dumbasses that are the Gods of Remnant did not curse Salem with immortality and then left her wicked witch ass with that immortality for poor Ozma to clean up without a bloody clue how to revoke it.
Oscar doesn’t have to be brokenly overpoweredbut for Pete’s sake, at least allow him to be strong enough so we can finally move past seeing him just beat shit with a wind-up bulb on a stick! No shade at the Long Memory because I actually think it’s a cool weapon given its history and meaning. It’s just that it’s annoying knowing that Oscar can probably do A LOT more given his abilities yet the writers won’t let him…because PLOT!
If Oscar can’t use magic because of PLOT, then I like concept of him experimenting with the practice of using dust in combat as an alternative to magic.
That could be nice and it could be fitting to see him do this in Vacuo since I think, historically, Vacuo is supposed to have a great dust supply hence why the SDC wanted to capitalize on that in the past. It’s also a good way to see Oscar befriend Whitley since, technically, as of V8, isn’t Whitley Schnee officially the new CEO of the SDC?
Tumblr media
He was Jacques’ heir to the company after all replacing Weiss from V4. And given that Jacques is now deceased…that would make Whitley next in line as head of the SDC and overseer of all its dust mining operations and resources across Remnant. Basically what I’m trying to say is that I can easily see Whitley becoming a dust supplier to the huntsmen and huntresses currently stationed in Vacuo; inclusive of Oscar, Nora, Ren and Emerald.
I just like the idea of Whitley using his resources with the SDC to further assist the hero team which is inclusive of dust. And since V8 highlighted Whitley being the one who cooked up the schematics that the team needed for the creation of the channels they used to migrate everyone from Atlas to Vacuo, this also highlights a technical talent in Whitley that I’d like to see continued for V9.
Maybe even have Whitley partner with Pietro Polendina (believing that him and Maria are still alive since they were only awkwardly written out of the story for V8) to create some new dust-based weapons and tools for our heroes to use. That’s something that could be done too.
I just want to see Oscar have the big-brain epiphany that since he can’t use magic, his next best bet is to use an alternative method---upgrading and refashioning the design of the Long Memory to now use dust with Whitley’s assistance.
The last time we saw the Long Memory’s design change was with Henkle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I think it would be fitting if the cane changed again with Oscar.
Perhaps... even use it as a way to symbolize Oscar finally accepting the Merge but still choose to do it his way by making it his own---leaving a part of himself etched into the new look of the weapon as his way of saying, even if he disappears, he was still willing to bank on a part of him living on in the new person he becomes---small yet extraordinary. Just like Oscar is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now that could be a really, really cool idea if done in the canon and as I mentioned before, it could simultaneously be a good way to have Oscar and Whitley bond since there are still fans, like myself, who would like to see these young boys become friends.
But that’s just me spouting ideas on that as usual. Rant aside, I hope I actually answered your question anon-chan.

What are some hobbies u think Oscar has or interest he has be sides reading
Hello again Dreamer,
Well besides reading books, this squiggly Pinehead also likes to indulge in the Pinehead headcanon that Oscar enjoys writing especially since it’s been shown that he canonically enjoys reading fairy tales.
I liked the idea of Oscar keeping a special old journal that either his aunt or some other close relative (like his former parents) gifted to him as a young boy that he’s cherished since childhood and has been using to chronicle stories of not just his own life but also the lives of the people he’s met that have influenced him in some way. Kind of like a diary but I’d imagine Oscar would be too coy or even a wee bit embarrassed to call it that.
Tumblr media
I also liked the idea of Oscar sometimes keeping small sketches or random doodles in his journal in between his writing. While he may not consider himself an artist, I like the thought of Oscar actually being a decent sketcher while still being too shy to actually show anyone his drawings since they’re meant to be personal, very close to heart (as a reflection and depiction of his true inner thoughts) and thus private like his writing.
Tumblr media
Another potential hobby that I pegged would be terrific for Oscar is cooking. Nothing too fancy-smancy. Just something he liked to do from time to time since it reminded him of home, not necessarily with his aunt but more so with his parents (or perhaps Oscar lived closely with only one of his parents or came from a household where he might’ve had siblings).
I’m still holding onto the theory that Oscar had actually only been living with his aunt on her farm for a short space of time and had actually been bounced around several relatives (and maybe the occasional foster home) for a full 3-4 years after his parents’ death (according to my headcanons, that is).
I’d still like to stand by the prospect that Oscar probably lost his parents a lot more recently than the RWBY series likes to give off. My hunch is that Oscar lost his folks when he was at least 10 going on 11 or so. And like many things about him, my theory is that Oscar was probably never truly given the chance to process the live-changing events in his life---either because they happened so quickly and/or as a growing child, he was often encouraged to just “not think about it; just move on” and that’s how he learned to cope with things such as trauma and pain.
Since I’d like to stand by the belief that the whole Ozpin scenario wasn’t Oscar’s first running with being placed into an uncomfortable scenario that was beyond his control; where he really had no say in the choices that came from it despite it deeply affecting him or something to that extent.
I’d like to think that Oscar’s been treated this way his entire teenage life since he lost his first family and thus his current demeanour, as we see in the show, is what’s become of him as a result of that. But that’s a headcanon for another day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Getting back on track, bottom-line, Oscar struck me as the type of well-behaved kid who would be more than willing to help around in the kitchen. So I always figured or at least liked the concept of him being raised in a rather…I guess old-fashioned household for lack of a better term where all the family members contributed to the operations of the house and took turns doing their respective chores with cooking being one of them.
After the whole casserole incident of RWBY V6CH9, I know Pineheads alike clapped at the prospect of Oscar being able to cook (even better than Ruby since he made it all by himself while Ruby needed guidance from Ren). And while I still hate that episode with a bloody passion as a Pinehead for how Oscar was overall treated during it, I still liked that it at least gave us that little detail about him and I’d love to think that Oscar knows his way around the kitchen due to his upbringing.
So if he had to have another little hobby besides keeping a journal (or many journals), cooking would be the next one. Although, admittedly I like the journaling idea better since I think it more suits Oscar’s character in my opinion.
But anyways, that’s my headcanon for the little prince of RWBY. Hope that answers your question m’fam.

Note
I won't be shocked if there's a Time skip at the end of volume 9 and Oscar is just completely gone like kidnapped or dead cuz I wouldn't be shocked if crwby just off him and never talked about Oscar again ,I hope they don't do that I like his character
…What?
Uhmm…I…would like to think that won’t be the case anon-chan ^^);
Speaking for myself here, naturally I have my own interpretations for how RWBY Volume 9 could potentially conclude Oscar’s story.
Tumblr media
Lately I’ve been toying with the notion of what if…the Staff of Creation was used on Oscar to separate the part of him that’s still very much Oscar from the remaining half that’s Ozpin-Ozma or the wizard soul?
As much as I didn’t enjoy Volume 8, the whole moment of it being used to grant Penny Polendina a new body of actual flesh and bone with a beating heart to house her human soul certainly opened up a door of possibilities. It definitely got me thinking of the possibility of the staff being used in a similar manner on Oscar, given his fears of the inevitable merge between him and Oz.
Tumblr media
Like I imagined this scene where Ruby shows Oscar to Ambrosius and asks the spirit to split the boy with two souls into two beings completely severed from one another so that Oscar would be his own person again.
I had this idea of Ambrosius being more than open to the challenge while simultaneously warning our heroes of the huge risk of splitting Oscar up at his current state in the Merge. After all, while Oscar may not be fully fused with Oz yet---let’s say… at this point in the story, Oscar and Oz had fused so much that it would be difficult for Ambrosius to divide him without complications.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At least with Penny, it was very clear for Ambrosius to differentiate her human side from her former robotic parts. However, in Oscar’s much more delicate case, how would the spirt of Creation be able to tell the difference between the souls especially when either had merged so much that not even an all knowing being such as Ambrosius could tell who is who.
While a stretch for the canon, this squiggly Pinehead still really wanted to toy with this possibility since I had this idea of Ambrosius successfully splitting Oscar but at a major cost.
Let’s say…that in order for the split to work, Ambrosius had to peer deeply into the memories of both souls and split them apart based on that.
Therefore whatever memories clearly belonged to Oscar, Ambrosius saved those for the little prince while the rest went to the other being---Ozpin/Ozma. However any memories the two souls shared together, that appeared fragmented, were removed to avoid difficulties with the split.
Let's say... it's something that Ambrosius HAD to do otherwise the whole process would be for naught.
Tumblr media
This meant that Oscar would get to be himself and only himself but all of his memories from the time he left his home farm back in Mistral to his time spent with the heroes working to save the world from Salem would be completely erased.
Oscar would get to regain his life as he wanted but, he would also have no recollection of his time with the hero team.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To him, it would all feel like waking up from a really long dream which is synonymous of the very first scene we got of Oscar when he was first introduced by in V4 after waking up from a dream or rather a nightmare since it was hinted that Oscar might’ve dreamt about the meeting Salem had with her minions at the start of V4.
Tumblr media
Again, I know this concept seems like a huge leap and I’m not implying that this will happen in the canon for V9. I’m more saying that I wanted to consider a scenario of what if…Oscar’s story did conclude with him “dying” but not the way some fans and RWBY theorists might’ve interpreted.
Technically Oscar did die. Not the part of him that was still himself but the part of him that he shared with Oz. The part of him that would’ve most definitely fused with Oz if the Merge hadn’t been intervened by Ambrosius. So it’s a case where Oscar gets to live on but he has no recollection of his time with the heroes since mentally, those memories never existed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, emotionally; I’d like to think that Oscar’s heart would still remember his friends or rather the way they all made him feel during his time with them. Since in this imagined scenario I concocted, I also toyed with the thought of Ruby Rose often visiting Oscar in his “new life” through the future years.
Despite having no memory of this silver eyed girl, somehow Oscar felt like he wanted to know more about her due to a feeling he got whenever she came to see him.
A strong good feeling. A feeling of admiration, respect,  trust and perhaps something even more that blossomed over the years of the two getting to know one another from Ruby’s frequent visits in Oscar’s new life.
Tumblr media
It would be like a reverse Warrior in the Woods scenario where it is the warrior (Ruby) who continued to seek the boy (Oscar) throughout the years.
Tumblr media
I even have this idea of Ruby coming to visit Oscar during the fifth year since she returned him home only to find him preparing to leave on a journey. A journey which the young lad bashfully asks Ruby to join him on as the two had grown close over time in this new timeline and world due to the huntress’ visits.
However, for Oscar, he wanted more time with Ruby. More than just her usual visits to check in on him and to this, Ruby obliged and agreed to become Oscar’s companion on their own journey across New Remnant together.
Because while Oscar may not remember Ruby fully or was aware of the huge sacrifices and contributions he made to save her and humanity, Ruby remembered.
And thus, the little red rose was determined to remain by her prince’s side this time; still choosing to never give up on the side of him that was still connected to her in some way.
Never considering for one second that he was lost forever and firmly believing that someday, she would meet him again.
…Or something like that.
As I said, it’s just an idea that’s been buzzing in my head for some time. For me, this squiggle meister wants to believe in a happy ending for Oscar.
Tumblr media
And being the Rosegardening Pinehead that I am, I also want to believe in an ending that would deliver on what Miles said he and the CRWBY Writers wanted to do with the Rosegarden pair. Which is do more with them and have them potentially spend more time with one another to further deepen their bond.
I love Oscar a lot as a character too anon-chan as the proud squiggly Pinehead I am. All the more reason why I hope the little prince’s happily ever after is a good one.

Pinehead Headcanons: Oscar Saves Ruby
Tumblr media
At this rate, if we’re not going to get a “Ruby saving Oscar from Salem” type story then can we at least get a “Oscar saves Ruby from Salem” story instead?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean hey---look at Steven Universe? Steven Universe Future had a storyline where our main hero ultimately became the antagonist for the series finale needing everyone who Steven had helped in significant coming together to help him.
Tumblr media
I think it would actually be an interesting development if Ruby Rose got corrupted and turned into one of Salem’s Grimmoire Hounds---possibly the strongest of them all, forcing of all her friends to come together to save her this time.
Ruby is often regarded as this inspirational embodiment of hope who inspires everyone around her. Similarly, in his own series, Steven Universe was regarded as that type of character until the threads started to unravel and Steven eventually broke from all the trauma and pressures he endured from the responsibilities that were placed on him at such an adolescent age.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This season we saw Ruby’s leadership challenged by her older sister Yang. We also see her begin to waver a bit emotionally from the pressures of feeling helpless to stop or even help all of what was happening around her and her friends.
I guess bottom-line, what I’m trying to say is that I actually wouldn’t mind a story where Ruby---our titular main protagonist---is turned into a Hound for Salem needing her friends to band together to save her and be voices of hope for her this time.
Forget Summer Rose being revealed to be a Hound. Give me a subplot where Salem actually succeeds in snuffing Ruby out and turning her into a Grimm.
Give me a subplot where Ruby’s friends lose hope only for Oscar to rise up as become a voice of wisdom and guidance, not only restoring everyone’s faith in a manner similar to how Ruby  inspired him but also encouraging everyone that they needed to come together to help Ruby this time.
I want to Oscar to be like Connie. If Ruby was to be turned into a Hound then I think it would be great to see all of her loved ones uniting to help her for a change and it would be nice if Oscar is the one to lead the charge with that; similar to how Connie yelled at everyone to stop focusing on themselves and instead focus on helping Steven because in that moment, he needed them.
So I’d like to see this type of development done for Ruby. I mean, I doubt it’ll ever be canon. But it would’ve been nice. I’m still waiting to see what the payoff of the Rosegardening Rosebuds friendship and all the development between Ruby and Oscar from the past couple of seasons will be.
Tumblr media
Over the past few volumes, we’ve seen Ruby save Oscar and be a beacon of inspiration for the little prince. So this time, it would be nice to see a payoff from that where this time, Oscar is the one to help save Ruby and be a part of the many voices that would come together to save the little red rose lost to darkness.
That could be cool.

Pinehead Headcanons: Oscar’s Trust
Tumblr media
My fellow Rosegardeners and Rosegardening Pineheads, in light of this recent episode’s ending and development between our two budding smaller, more honest souls, take this consideration to thought, if you will.
I know most of us were disappointed with Emerald interrupting our Rosegarden reunion hug but…have you guys actually stopped to consider the possibility of Ruby…y’know…becoming just a teensy weensy bit jealous or at least grouchy at Oscar’s trust and faith in Emerald?
Tumblr media
Think about it. Let’s not forget that in the past, Oscar has always shown a great deal of belief and support in Ruby and has always been one to trust in her judgment even when he may not one hundred percent agree with it.
Tumblr media
However, this season highlighted Oscar expressing doubt in Ruby particularly following Yang calling her out in the first episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oscar didn’t really stand up for Ruby during that moment and he even chose Yang’s side to help Mantle over her side to go start up Amity. Yet here is Oscar---who, mind you, has NEVER met Emerald before. Doesn’t really know her like the others do. Isn’t fully aware of all the details of her history with the group.
Yet here he is willing to vouch for her good nature because of one good action she did which was assisting Hazel and ultimately YJR in his escape from Salem and Monstra. It took one act of good from Emerald to have Oscar willing to believe in the potential good she can do.
Why does this sound familiar?
Is it just me or is Emerald Sustrai starting to sound like Oscar’s equivalent of Qrow Branwen?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m kind of getting a Qrow vibe with Emerald’s budding relationship with Oscar as it was for Qrow and Oz. Not to mention that just like Qrow who came from a tribe of bandits and thieves, Emerald was also a bandit herself. She would pickpocket off of others to survive on the streets until she was found by Cinder Fall.
Oz was willing to believe in Qrow and the good he can do despite his insecurities regarding his semblance. And technically, Oscar is kind of doing the same with Em. Willing to believe in the good in her and the good her abilities can do despite all she has done in the past and I actually think that’s mighty sweet of him.
Going back to my early point---I’m not saying that I expect or even need to see Ruby become a bit agitated of Oscar’s trusting Em over her distrust. I’m more implying that it would be quite interesting if the little prince expressing doubt in his rose but faith in the street rat is brought up somehow in the canon.
Besides, in the first episode, Oscar said that every choice he’s made has been the wrong one. So I had this concept of Ruby feeling depressed at the thought of Oscar thinking that believing in her was one of those mistakes. Only for Oscar to reassure her that that wasn’t the case.
“…I’ve made more mistakes than any man, woman and child on Remnant but choosing to place my faith in you wasn’t one of them…”
I just would love to hear something equivalent of that said by Oscar to Ruby. But then again, this is just me.

Pinehead Headcanons: Oscar's Dreamscape: The Garden of Two Lovers
Tumblr media
@miki-13 asked "Okay I know we didn't get a lot of Oscar backstory, but I really do think that after the V8 finale, there's a new avenue to explore with Oscar. Why? Because as far as he knows, his friends, partner and love interest are dead. The people he's grown to care for over the course of V5-8 are suddenly gone. There's no way that's not gonna hurt him, even if Ozpin assures him that they're not dead. Because either way, he's been forcibly separated from them.
Heck, this could actually open up an avenue for him to talk about his own family life and why he lives with his aunt. Not to mention one of his allusions is to The Little Prince and he just arrived in a desert after leaving his Rose behind, and the whole story deals with death in general.
Actually, maybe that's how Oscar gets his semblance/ branches out with his magic! He wants to find the people he loves so badly and refuses to give up on them, that he finds a way to get the void/ communicate with them and possibly find a way to lay the groundwork for bringing them back!
Squiggles Answers:
Hey there Miki-chan. Pardon the late reply but I wanted to reserve my response to this as a new Pinehead headcanon post considering that, ironically, you and I share the same thoughts and theories about Oscar reaching out.
The idea I had is that Oscar would be able to connect to Ruby in the Other World in his dreams. Once again, I return to my old Oscar’s Dreamscape Pinehead headcanon from donkey years ago. Essentially, through his unyielding love for his rose and his deep desires to reunite with her again in some shape or form, Oscar unintentionally creates the Dreamscape.
And what the Dreamscape is is that it is this magical place that transcends reality and only exists through the shared bond between Oscar and Ruby. Picture a shallow stagnant sea that mirrors an endless sunset sky. A perfect blend of the warm embrace of the sun and the tranquil beauty of the moon that paves the path towards a small garden that sits in the middle of this mysterious magical place.
And it is in this garden where Oscar meets Ruby in his dreams and vice versa.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Remember how it was said that the Little Prince fairy-tale ended ambiguously with the reader never knowing the truth of the prince’s fate after he was poisoned by the snake and “went to sleep”.
Some iteration believed the prince to have died and gone back to his home planet in spirit to be with his rose while another interpretation described the Prince returning home only to discover that his rose had died in his absence without him present to take care of her.
Either way, the allusion is that the prince does indeed reunite with his rose but in a manner that is still tragic when you look at it. Going off of that, this is why I love the concept of Oscar connecting to Ruby in sleep with the two meeting and communicating with each other in their dreams through unknown power originated from Oscar. Only it’s NOT exactly a semblance. Nor is it exactly magic either.
One of my favourite quotes from the Lost Fable episode back in V6 is when Jinn described a power much greater than magic that caused Salem and Ozma to recognize one another in their new lives.
“…Call it magic or call it something stronger, but in that moment, the two knew exactly who stood before them…”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the Lost Fable, Jinn made it seem as if loveis an element more powerful than even the likes of magic; as cheesy as that might sound. So if love is able to transcend life and death to cause two kindred souls to recognize each other in another life in another time time, what’s stopping it from transcending worlds to bring together another pair of kindred souls?
So as corny as this is going to sound, the hopeless romantic in me cannot help but swoon over the thought of love being what creates the Dreamscape and/or brings Ruby and Oscar together in such a place that only they can traverse.
It is a power that was born from Ruby and Oscar’s shared love for one another and desire to reunite with each other and thus it’s a power that only they share together. The Rosegarden in the Dreamscape is theirs.
In the beginning, on the first night the two reunite in their dreams, the Dreamscape was believed to be solely of Oscar’s doing but in reality, it was a special new world that belonged to both the little prince and his true rose alone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, hear me out with this one. The reason why I’m thinking the Dreamscape was believed to be Oscar’s power alone in the beginning was because when it all started, the Dreamscape mainly reacted to Oscar. On his end, let’s say…Oscar wished so desperately to see Ruby again that unbeknownst to him; the Dreamscape was forged just so Oscar could accomplish his heart’s wish---to see his rose.
Thus, Oscar is able to see Ruby in their dreams and she in turn is able to see and talk to him between worlds but only in sleep. However, that is extent of the Dreamscape through Oscar’s influence. The two can communicate but they can’t physically touch or feel one another.
Because I have this idea of Ruby and Oscar growing closer to each other than they’ve ever been before since they’re able to meet in Dreamscape. However it’s also this painful thing where despite being together in their dreams, they’re still not together when they are constantly reminded that they can’t touch each other.
Like imagine a moment where the two rosebuds are bonding in the Dreamscape, trying to come up with way to reunite together, swapping backstories and secrets about themselves with each other that they’ve never told anyone else only for one of them---mainly Oscar--- to get lost in the euphoria of the moment and attempt to reach out and touch the other person only to be painfully reminded, that they’re not truly there. They’re still separated despite how close the Dreamscape has brought them.
The only time when the Dreamscape is actually able is to make Ruby and Oscar interact physically is when that becomes Ruby’s wish.
Okay, hear me out again.
I have this scenario in my head where Oscar suffers a mental breakdown as a result of being poisoned during an encounter with Tyrian Callows. Remember how Tyrian’s venom caused Qrow to suffer and hallucinate back in V4?
Well picture something similar with Oscar where he falls into a sort of light coma as a result of being poisoned. Let’s say…as a result of the venom, Oscar is transported to the Dreamscape where ALL of his inner demons---the true feeling and fears he’s been suppressing for a long time---suddenly manifest inside this world to torment him and berate him.
And let’s say…on the other end, in the Other World, Ruby becomes worried for Oscar’s well-being when he doesn’t make contact with her in the Dreamscape for some time. And let’s say…due to her connection with Oscar, which became stronger as a result of them bonding in the dream world, Ruby is able to sense when something is wrong with Oscar due to her having a weird feeling in her chest. Almost as if her heart was beckoning her somewhere else. To take her to the person she wanted to see who needed her help. Or something like that.
In a nutshell, Ruby is able to enter the Dreamscape on her own through her connection with Oscar. At first, Ruby mostly relied on Oscar to bring her to the Dreamscape but when Oscar was in trouble, Ruby used their link to take her there as an alternative means.
To make a long theory short, Ruby arrives in the Dreamscape to find the once magical dream world in dark chaos ---basically imagine being on the outside of a tornado.
The Dreamscape had turned into a rampant storm to reflect Oscar’s darkest inner emotions which were spiralling out of control before Ruby’s very eyes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Remember how in Steven Universe, in the episode that debuted the “Here Comes A Thought” song, remember how Steven’s true feelings about Jasper, Bismuth and his mother started to manifest before him and Connie while they were fused as Stevonnie during training?
Picture a moment like that with Oscar in the Dreamscape where Oscar’s fears take form---at first taking on the appearance of Oscar’s old self dressed in his old farm boy attire belittling Oscar for leaving home to be among people who he didn’t fully believe trusted or even actually cared him---unearthing Oscar’s thoughts and repressed emotions from the events of V6.
Then the Dreamscape manifests Ironwood to belittle Oscar for his repressed emotions from the events of V7. Then it transforms into Salem to taunt and humiliate Oscar over his repressed trauma as a result of being her prisoner during the events of V8 and being tortured.
You get what I’m saying, right? Whatever Oscar has been repressing for so long, the Dreamscape manifests it as a being of spite to through it all back in Oscar’s face when he was most vulnerable. Finally, as Ruby enters the fray, the Dreamscape takes on a new form.
Here’s another concept to toss onto the Fake Rose table. Imagine if…the Fake Rose isn’t another silver eyed warrior or rose-themed person who takes an interest in Oscar.
What if…the Fake Rose is actually a replica of Ruby manifested by the Dreamscape to reveal Oscar’s true feelings and fears in respect to Ruby?
Assuming that you’re an ole-school Potterhead like yours truly Miki-chan, remember the last book/movie?
Remember that one scene in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows involving the locket? Remember how the locket made an apparition of Harry and Hermione appear before Ron to voice his jealousy and inferiority when compared to Harry especially in the eyes of Hermione who he believed loved Harry over him.
Picture something like that with a Fake Ruby Rose---Mocking Oscar over his “childish” love for his rose, as if he actually stood a chance of being with her given the Merge and any other insecurities that Oscar secretly harboured that he’d supressed for so long.
Picture that. Imagine…something like that happening so that it could ultimately lead into Ruby denouncing ever fear of Oscar’s voiced by her fake copy as this rose---the one true rose did her best to comfort her prince.
It’s a moment where Ruby words unfortunately don’t reach Oscar. Thus, Ruby tries to one way she’s always reached out to him. Through a gentle comforting touch. In that moment, Ruby wishes for Oscar to feelher there beside him.
To feel her arms wrapped around him and the warmth of the hug she dared to give him since she wanted more than anything to be able to comfort him through the storm. And for a second time, through the power of love (mixed in with just a smidge of their share magic inherited from the God of Light possibly), the Dreamscape grants Ruby’s wish and Oscar is able to feel her for the first time since they met in the dream world. To feel her arms around him as she embraced him tightly with all the love and care for him she could channel in that moment.
And just like that, all becomes calm as the storm disappeared; softening to a gentle breeze against a beautifully sunlit sky; revealing two hearts embraced; once seperated but now together at long last in the world of their own created from their shared love.
Basically picture the Dreamscape as this magical world brought to life by the love and heart’s desires of two star-crossed lovers separated by fate and lost to two realities. Thus the Dreamscape mirrors the feelings and grants the desires of these two lovers since they are the rulersof said world as its creators. Thus it is a world that is only attainable by them. A world of their own. A world of dreams to grant the wishes of two lost souls in love.
I’d love to go more in depth into this revised Dreamscapeidea of mine for the Rosegarden pair. However for the time being, this is concept that I have in mind and is all that I have to share for now. What do you think?

Pinehead Headcanons: Oscar and the New World
Tumblr media
“…I thought the idea of falling through Remnant and into a new world was exciting…”
Guys, I’m curious about something. I’ve been thinking about the Remnant fairytale that Oscar mentioned back in the tenth episode. The one about the girl who fell through the world.
As us fans are aware, some Remnant Fairytales are actually relevant to the World of Remnant and may actually be variants of completely different stories that were true to its history as we saw with the Lost Fable tying back into the Girl in the Lonely Tower and the Tale of the Brother Gods fairytales, for example.
Keeping that in mind,  now I’m wondering something---How true is the Girl Who Fell Through the World fairy tale? True in the sense of…could there possibly be another world below Remnant that no one has ever traversed before? Not even Ozma? Or what if…this will be an adventure for our gaggle of heroes to venture ultimately?
Here me out on this one. As we’re well aware from the canon of RWBY, it was only the God of Darkness’ Grimm Pools of Darkness that seemed to have survived the test of time, right? However the question still remains of what ultimately became of the God of Light’s Fountain of Life of Creation that was last seen in the Lost Fable episode.
Tumblr media
Here’s this squiggle meister’s hunch:
What if…what we know to be the continent of Solitas in Remnant is actually the remnants of the Land of Light that formerly belonged to the God of Light in the Lost Fable?
Tumblr media
Have you guys ever wondered that there might be a narrative coincidence as to why Atlas was the kingdom of technological innovation that secretly housed the Relic of Creation?
What if…the remnants of the Land of Light and the Fountain of Life and Creation may be below the Kingdom of Atlas; deep below what we know to be Mantle’s crater?
Imagine if…the fragments of the God of Light’s Fountain of Life and Creation fell deep into Remnant’s core following the meteor shower from the Lost Fable and thus created a whole new world within Remnant but below its surface? A whole new world right below Atlas and Mantle that has never been discovered or explored by anyone.
Tumblr media
I know this concept sounds like a stretch but…I can’t help but shake this feeling about there might be a connection to the Atlas/Mantle and the Land of Light outside of the Relic of Creation. My reason for bringing this curious thought to light stems from some imagery from the V8 opening:
During the opening visuals, nearing the end, we’re shown a shot of our heroes all standing together before the ground gives way underneath Team RWBY with all four girls plummeting into what appears to be a pool.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ve seen some theories where other RWBY theorists speculated that this may be Ruby falling into the Grimm Pool of Darkness---a sign of her ultimate transformation into a Grimm-Human hybrid as we saw with the Hound. However, upon further review of the screenshot, I don’t think that may be the case at all.
Here I have this shot of when Salem first dropped into the Grimm Pool during the Lost Fable.
Tumblr media
As you can see, there is a reddish-purple glow to her. Compare that to this screenshot of Ruby from the V8 opening.
Tumblr media
For Ruby, her sheen isn’t red. It’s actually kind of golden-white. The same type of golden-white sheen that was around Salem when she first fell into the Fountain of Light and Creation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, keeping that all in mind, this brings me back to Oscar. What if…Oscar bringing up the Girl Who Fell Through the World fairytale wasn’t a coincidence?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What if…it was an intentional foreshadow to a possible event to happen later in the story? An event that would either greatly impact him or him and Ruby [as our two, smaller more honest souls] or perhaps the whole core hero team meaning RWBY_ALPN?
Tumblr media
Like I said, the V8 opening had the ground collapsing underneath our heroes with them falling through the ground. In V8CH10, Oscar mentioned a tale about someone falling through Remnant and into a completely new world.
So maybe…this is a sign for events to happen and how this volume might end?
Now pegs the important questions.
What would happen if our young heroes weren’t around anymore upon Salem’s resurrection?
What would become of Remnant if we didn’t have main young hero team working towards helping the people and stopping Salem from gathering the relics and bringing about Remnant’s destruction?
What would happen to Remnant if our heroes disappeared off the face of the earth and fell into a whole new world far from the one they knew?
What would become of Remnant if our heroes fell to a new world, leaving the old one behind at the mercy of Salem during a time when they are needed the most?
Tumblr media
This is the theory that I’m trying to make:
As stated in the recent episode, Oscar mentioned that the Long Memory possesses a tremendous amount of kinetic energy which Ozma and his lineage have stored and been farming for many lifetimes. We witnessed just how destructive that raw power can be. We also know that, according to Oscar, there is still good bit of that energy left in the cane; only to be used when necessary.
So here’s my thought. What if…at some point, Oscar is forced to use the last bit of kinetic energy. As a result of this, what if… the Long Memory is destroyed in the process and the crater of Mantle completely collapses, creating a massive deep hole in the earth that pulls any and everything surrounding it into its crevice like a massive black hole.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let’s say…for whatever reason, Oscar becomes trapped in the destruction of the hole created by his weapon.
Tumblr media
Let’s say…it was some kind of heroic sacrifice moment for the little prince where he knew the risks of unleashing the last bit of the cane’s power and made it anyway since it correlated with the promise he made to his friends and team back in Argus.
Tumblr media
Back in V6, Oscar told the team that he would do everything in his power to help with the “limited time” he had left as himself. With all that’s happened to him for this season, it wouldn’t surprise me if that promise is brought back somehow.
Tumblr media
Resuming my theory, Oscar sacrifices himself and much like the heroine of one of his childhood fairytales, he ends up falling through the world. He falls deep into Remnant to a world unknown; possibly to be presumed dead or something.
Since this volume has highlighted the importance of Oscar being a part of the team---what if…the other heroes end up trying to save Oscar but this results in them falling into the hole with him; thus trapping all of them deep within whatever “new world” lies in the depths of Remnant’s core.
I know this all sounds like some big weird crackerjack of a theory in concept but with all the talk about “Happy? Never Again”, it makes me wonder if something terrible will happen to all of our heroes in the end.
Like they all end up being presumed dead by the end of the season, leaving the rest of the world forced to deal with Salem’s return without their advice or intervention any longer.
I mean I could be very much wrong in my hunches here. But nevertheless, I still wished to put it out there just in case anyone else might be having similar ideas.
All I can say is that I definitely think something big will happen for the team nearing this volume’s climax. I do think Oscar will end up using the last of the cane’s power. I also think the cane will be destroyed somehow since it was mentioned that Oscar using magic accelerates the merging process between him and Oz. Therefore, I’m definitely expecting something to happen to force Oscar to have to use magic from now on since the Merge is definitely something he will have to come to terms with in the end for the next stage of his arc.
So the Long Memory being destroyed, forcing Oscar to use his magic without it---which we’ve seen he can do already back when he zapped Salem in V8CH9---and thus finally come to peace to being ready to merge with Oz is something I can see happening next for him. I also think something major will happen for Ruby.
At least I’d love it if something major would happen for Ruby. What I’m not sure what that may be, either way I definitely feel something major happening for the team and I definitely think the Girl Who Fell Through the World might’ve been a foreshadow of some kind. Then again, this is just me speculating. We’ll know for sure as the story progresses and the PLOT for RWBY V8 thickens.

Pinehead Headcanons: Oscar’s Doubt In His Rose
Tumblr media
“…Every decision I’ve made has been the wrong one…”
Tumblr media
Are you sure about that Oscar?
(Are you sure about that Ozpin?) (Are you sure about that Ozma?)
Was choosing to place your faith in a a simple soul with an unquantifiable spark going to be one of those many decisions you may be starting to regret too?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the Little Prince story, it is in the rose garden where the prince lost fate in his feelings for his rose when he realized that she wasn’t as unique as he thought she was---no different than any common rose.
So will V8 mark the same resolution for Oscar as part of his story for this season? Is this little prince beginning to doubt and lose fate in his rose? Is he starting to see that she may not be as unique as he pegged her to be?
No different than any other common silver-eyed rose who has given her life to fight for humanity and has died in vain because of it.
Tumblr media
Something has been bugging me about Oscar’s interactions with Ruby in this first episode. Beyond his minor moment of blushing at her relief at finding him safe out in Mantle, something about the little prince’s reactions to his rose felt off to this squiggle meister however I can’t quite put my finger on why.
So I came up with this small hunch that perhaps Oscar might be starting to go through what his fairy tale counterpart endured in his respective story. Perhaps…Oscar is starting to express doubt in Ruby. He’s always been someone to support her and have full faith in her capabilities but in this first episode of V8, I couldn’t help but feel as if Oscar may fall into the side of those who will lose faith in Ruby all together as the spark who is supposed to be their beacon of hope in the darkness but has failed them.
Tumblr media
Interestingly enough, this wasn’t really where I was expecting Oscar to stand, to be honest. However I’m okay with this development given the parallel to the Little Prince. Then again, this is all just me speculating here over observations from one episode. Obviously I’m going to need more context for this hunch of mine and I could be very much wrong here. However I still stand by my feelings about Oscar’s response to Ruby.
Something feels off about how he is looking to her. But then again, this could just be me here.

I said I would sketch him. Sometimes I wish I could draw as fast I can write. I feel like it would be better if I just make a separate continuation headcanon post describing my concepts for Imposter Oscar!
Like I said in my Pinehead headcanon post, I really dig this as a concept. I don’t really care if it doesn’t become canon.
I just think the idea of George the Greyhound Grimm creating a doppelganger of Oscar and using this abomination to infiltrate the hero team, pretending to be our true little prince while all the while the real one watches on helplessly from his prison of isolation---I just find that idea really neat =)
And I really wanna flesh out this Imposter Oscar character idea since I got some ideas for his persona since I technically see him as an extension of George the Greyhound but he’s part Oscar as well since, in my concept, the Imposter was made from Oscar...made from using a sample of his blood.
So I had this idea of the Imposter being psychically linked to both the Hound and Oscar. So whatever the Imposter sees, so does Oscar and he feels everything this abomination feels too and vice versa.
So if the Imposter kills someone or gets injured, Oscar will see and feel the sensation as if it were him experiencing it.
So I had this visual scene of the Imposter mocking Oscar by voicing all of his most deepest, darkest and most PRIVATE thoughts and feelings---including how he TRULY felt about the other heroes particularly certain members (such as Ruby or Jaune) and it ends up being some pretty heavy stuff behind said out in the open when Oscar has been mostly trying to keep things bottled up essentially.
If you’ve watched Steven Universe Future like me, think of Imposter Oscar as a worse version of Cactus Steven.
That’s the concept I had. I dunno. Don’t mind me guys. I’m just gonna have as much fun with this concept as I can.

Pinehead Headcanons: Oscar the Wandering Soul
Tumblr media
As a continuation from my last Pinehead Headcanon regarding the Dreamscape and the Garden of Two Lovers, I recently thought of another alternative to this concept of Oscar connecting to Ruby in the Other World through his dreams.
Imagine if…whenever Oscar goes to sleep, his soul is able to somehow traverse between Remnant and the Other World due to either the mysterious workings of the magic he inherited as Ozma’s successor or perhaps some other new ability that he unknowingly taps into while in sleep?
However in the Other World, Oscar appears only as a wandering spirit in this world or rather an astral projection of himself since he is only connecting to the Other World in his dreams while his actual body remains back in Remnant inside Vacuo Kingdom.
Therefore, despite instantly locating the missing Ruby Rose on the island in the Other World using his connection to her, Oscar is unfortunately able to interact with the little red rose physically due to him being in astral form.
With this thought in mind, hear me out on this one folks.
Tumblr media
I have this small hunch where Ruby will end up mostly alone in the Other World; completely separated from the others. The only other known person closest to Ruby is Neo but since Neo is still hell-bent on killing her to avenge Torchwick’s death, she still acts more as an antagonist to the vulnerable Ruby than a legit companion.
So it’s a scenario where Ruby is mostly on her own in this strange Other world without any knowledge of where exactly she was, where her friends could be or even if they were still alive since the island was still very much a mystery to her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So let’s say, after a few days of traveling through the island by herself (or rather what feels like daysconsidering that there was no real sense of time in the mysterious Other World either as far as Ruby know), Ruby slowly starts to succumb to her feelings of loneliness and fears of not only never seeing her friends ever again but also never returning home to Remnant.
Tumblr media
“…She’s brushed off her bumps and bruises; but nothing hurt worse than the loneliness in her chest…”
I have this idea where when Astral Oscarfirst discovers Ruby, he finds her alone by the seashore, lamenting to herself, wishing out loud to be with her loved ones once more.
I have this idea where when Astral Oscar first discovers Ruby, he finds her alone by the seashore, lamenting to herself, wishing out loud to be with her loved ones once more.
For the sake of comedy, I also had this idea of Ruby, in her lonely state, fashioning replicas of all of her friends out of wood and strange fruits and vegetables---if you’d call them that--- she discovered while wandering the island which she pretended to talk to whenever the pain of solitude got the better of her.
There was even a fruitsona of Oscar who Ruby made out of a strange pumpkin-like fruit or vegetable that she found, claiming it reminded her of him due to its small size, green and orange colour and spots which reminded Ruby of Oscar’s freckled cheeks.
Tumblr media
Let’s say …that Ruby liked to talk to Pumpkin Oscar the most out of her fruit friends mainly because the last time Ruby felt that lonely, it was Oscar’s words that helped her through it referring back to their shared moment in the dojo scene back in V5.
Tumblr media
Let’s say…in this scene, Ruby finally breaks under the weight of her solitude and starts crying in front of Pumpkin Oscar, wishing out loud that the real Oscar was there with her to help her through this moment again and to offer her some wisdom on what to do.
But little did Ruby know, Oscar was there. Appearing before her in astral form. And let’s say it’s a case where even as a “ghost” or “wandering soul”, Oscar still attempts to connect to Ruby somehow---reaching out to her like her always did whenever she was in distress; hoping to make a meaningful link that would aid her and quell her fears.
And…little would Oscar know, he would be able to connect to Ruby in a manner that he’d never expected with his newfound power.
Alright, REALLY hear me out with this one. There are two ideas I can see spawning from the concept of Astral or Wandering Soul Oscar.
One version is Oscar taking possession of an inanimate object that’s close to Ruby and using it as a means of communicating with her whenever he visits the Other World in his dreams. There is a reason why I mentioned Pumpkin Oscar.
Ya’ll remember the Oz character Jack Pumpkinhead, right? Jack Pumpkinhead is an inanimate character with a pumpkin for a head and a skinny figure made of tree limbs and jointed with wooden pegs. Jack was made by Tip, the little boy who was eventually reveled to be Princess Ozma---the true ruler of Oz.
You might also recall that this squiggle meister has been advocating for a version of Jack or at least a reference to him to show up in RWBY, right?
To make a long theory short, imagine if…we got a nice little nod to Jack Pumpkinhead by having his RWBY equivalent be a pumpkin-headed body of sticks and twigs made by a lonely Ruby to represent her friend Oscar while alone on the island in the Other World and this very same pumpkin creation ends up providing a “body” for an Astral Oscar to project himself into and use to talk with Ruby in the Other World.
Basically what I’m saying here is---in the Other World, Oscar becomes Pumpkinhead and in this form, he travels with Ruby on the island and helps her find their friends.
However, meanwhile back in the real world in Remnant, Oscar’s actual body is more or less stuck in an almost comatose state which unfortunately has his friends in Vacuo---Emerald, Ren and Nora all extremely worried for him since as far as they knew, Oscar went to sleep and just never woke up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While the little prince is technically NOT dead since his wandering soul is off on an adventure helping Ruby in the Other World but for the most, his allies on the other side aren’t aware of this. At least, not until Oscar eventually does wake up to blissfully inform the others of his time in the dreamland--- that he knew exactly where their missing comrades were since with Ruby’s help, he found them all in his dreams in another world beyond Remnant---as ridiculously outlandish and farfetched as that might sound coming from a kid with two souls.
Just picture a scene where Oscar is retelling his adventures in the Other World with Ren, Emerald and Nora AFTER being asleep for some like a few days in Remnant’s time and all three of him ogling him like he’d gone mad while unconscious. Although Ren is willing to entertain the possibility of Oscar’s “findings” being just, not just because it’s coming from Oscar---the magical kid with literally two souls--- but also because he can tell that Oscar wasn’t lying to them based on his semblance. So it’s a scene like that however Nora and Emerald are still more than a little apprehensive.
But as I said before, this is just one idea I have based on the Astral Oscar concept.
The other version is Astral Oscar ending up inside Ruby’s head. So basically, picture a scenario where Oscar is Ruby’s companion in another world but instead of being there with her physically or possessing an inanimate object, he mainly becomes another voice inside of her head; guiding her as best as he could.
It’s pretty much a case where Oscar gets a little taste of what Oz was experiencing while sharing his body with him, so to speak in a sense. In a desperate attempt to connect to Ruby while in astral form, Oscar unintentionally ends up inside of Ruby’s body or at least her head and that’s how they’re able to know of the other’s presence and thus talk to each other while in the Other World.
I’m not saying that Oscar is able to take possession of Ruby’s body (since her body is hers and he’s not trying to be that kind of “ghost” since he of all people understands what it’s like to have your body being taken over by another intruding soul without your consent and all that jazz). I more like it in the realm of him just communicating with Ruby mentally since he connected his wandering spirit to hers. And at the same time, Oscar is able to feel Ruby’s true emotions and unbeknownst to him, she can also feel his while he’s inside of her head. So the two are able to bond with each other a lot closely as friends and understand one another in ways they never did before.
So just picture Ruby traversing through the Other World, talking with Oscar as the other voice inside of her head that only she can hear since it’s her soul that he’s made contact with. But it’s also a case where Oscar doesn’t really have full control over his newfound power since he isn’t quite sure how it works or how he even unlocked it in the first place. Is it even a semblance or a result of magic? Oscar isn’t sure.
So while Oscar is grateful for finding Ruby; at the same time, he isn’t sure how he even got to the Other World in the first place outside of going to sleep back in Vacuo and suddenly waking up as a wandering soul in ghost form there. The poor boy also isn’t sure on how he will return to his body in Remnant but naturally, he eventually does figure this out and it becomes a scenario where Oscar hops back and forth between Remnant and the Other World.
On one end, he connects to Ruby in the Other World in his sleep, informing her of all that’s happening back in Remnant with Salem and safeguarding the last two relics from her particularly the Sword of Destruction which was being housed in their current location in Vacuo.
And on the other hand, when Oscar is awake, he reiterates his findings from the Other World from his time with Ruby with their friends in Remnant while working on their end to find a way to bring the others back home to Remnant.
I just really love the concept of Oscar being the link for his friends between two worlds. I like the idea of our boy becoming the key to helping Ruby and the others get back to Remnant. And I love the idea of him being able to do so through a unique power that only he has and shares with his rose.
I know the idea of Oscar connecting to Ruby as a wandering soul and talking to her in her mind while in his dreams sounds like a stretch. Still nevertheless, I really dig this idea and while I doubt it’ll become canon in any shape or form for V9, as always, it’s still worth tossing out to my ever-growing table of possibilities and headcanons.
Besides, I wanted to amuse myself with the thought of Oscar talking to Ruby in her head in his wandering soul form and there’s this initial apprehension where the little prince is worried that his rose might have the same annoyed reaction to his presence that he once gave Oz back in V4.
However to Oscar’s surprise, Ruby is surprisingly enthusiastic about having him share her mind with her and is more than welcoming of him being there since…Ruby trusts Oscar and after walking the Other World alone, she’s happier to just have someone she knows and likes there with her as opposed to being on her own. That way, it doesn’t feel as lonely as it did before.
This is also a callback to V5CH3 when Oscar first told RNJR about him sharing a body with Oz and Ruby reacting more enthusiastically to the idea of a person with two souls than anything else which I always found to be adorably sweet of her.
She looked so intrigued by Oscar. I always liked that detail from when the Rosegarden pair first met since Ruby's enthusiasm of Oscar mirrored his enthralled expression at meeting her for the first time and seeing someone like her with silver eyes.
Tumblr media
I just think it’d be neat to see some Oscar and Ruby mental conversations---both the comical kind with shenanigans on Ruby’s part and the deep and thoughtful kind where, because they share such a unique bond with only each other, the two smaller, most honest souls can understand each other a lot more than before since now they were connected spirituallyin a sense.
Perhaps while connected to Ruby mentally in astral form, Ruby can sense Oscar’s apprehension of the Merge just as much as he can feel her loneliness and pain over feeling like she’d failed her friends yet again (particularly Penny’s whose death she’d missed and failed to stop yet again).
Maybe it’s a scenario where Oscar doesn’t even want to return to Remnant---where the little prince would much rather face the consequences of never waking up again in the real world and thus remain a wandering soul forever as opposed to the latter of waking up as someone else. For at least as a wandering soul---as a ghost---Oscar would at least get to be himself. A dark thought that concerned Ruby and could even spark a conversation between them on this topic.
As we know from the events of V8, Oscar is very apprehensive of the Merge. Neither he nor Oz wants it to happen. Although I’d like to believe that Oz’s own uneasiness stems from him being fully aware of Oscar’s true feelings and reluctance. Personally if there is one other character I’d love to see learn of Oscar’s fears of the Merge and even help him through it, it’s Ruby.
As the audience, we’ve already seen Oscar discuss the Merge with Oz twice for V8. Now what I’d love to see is Oscar sharing his fears with someone else he deeply trusts and I’d still love to believe that that character is Ruby.
Buuuuuuuuuuuut…like I said, this is all just a concept. Who knows what V9 will bring for the little prince and his true rose? At least in the meantime, I can amuse myself on more ideas derived from this one headcanon of mine.
I think Oscar becoming a wandering soul in the Other World where he connects with his rose sounds pretty cool especially the part where the two grow and help each other emotionally on their journey together before finally reuniting for real in their home of Remnant.
I especially like the idea of Oscar connecting to Ruby inside her mind and talking to her as another voice inside her head since I think it could be an interesting new way to further cultivate their bond and help it to blossom into something very meaningful to them both.
Not necessarily as a romance but…still something strong and unique only to them and their shared bond, y’know what I mean?
But again, that's just moi.

Pinehead Headcanons: Oscar the Bait
@remnant-roses said “My thought these last few weeks has been that using the Emerald/Neo combo to stage a fake rescue would be the perfect way to get Oscar to spill the beans.
If Ruby/his friends appeared and sprang him from his cell, took his hand and started running him down the hall, the relief he'd feel at imminent freedom would lower his defenses immensely.
Fake Ruby: "Omigosh, we've gotta get you out of here! What does she even want with you? Why would she hurt you like this?"
Oscar: "She's trying to get the lamp to work!"
Fake Ruby: "You didn't tell her, right? She doesn't know how to use it?"
Oscar: "No, I didn't tell her about Jinn."
Boom. Easy. All it requires is some careful phrasing/coaxing.
Since his friends already know about Jinn, he wouldn't feel it at all necessary to keep the name secret from them.
And then Fake Ruby just chucks him back in his cell. This has the added effect of Oscar then mistrusting any real rescue attempts in the future.
---------------------------------------------------------
Squiggles Answers:
Tumblr media
Oooh I quite like your “fake rescue attempt” concept, fam and I actually think it would be possible to happen in the canon… if it weren’t for one tiny detail .In the last episode of RWBY V6, Ruby used the Lamp of Knowledge without a question in order to buy her some more time against the Leviathan and was promptly warned by Jinn about the ramifications of such a stunt.
Tumblr media
“…I’m sorry. I don’t have a question for you, I---I just needed a little more time.”
“I know and while you don’t seek knowledge, just this once, I shall give it freely. I will not allow you to use me without a question again. Even if this was clever.”
“…I will not allow you to use me without a question again…”
Jinn told Ruby that the next time she called upon her without a question; she wouldn’t allow her to use her that way. It is for this reason why I’m holding out for the theory that Ruby will be the one to ask the final question of the lamp. This moment with Jinn has to come back at some point later in the narrative; possibly even for V8.
It is for this reason why my headcanon is that Ruby will be captured and taken to Salem at some point for this volume too. Ruby is another person of interest to Salem given her first attempt at capturing her back in V4. Therefore my hunch is that Salem will deploy Tyrian Callows to go capture Ruby for a second time and this time, the Scorpion Faunus will be backed up by the Hound.
I like the idea of Salem being cruel enough to use Oscar’s imprisonment and torture as bait to force Ruby to willingly surrender herself over to her forces without a fight for his sake. Since it was shown last season that Salem is able to project herself through one of her Seer Grimm, imagine if…Salem sends Tyrian with a message for Ruby Rose specifically via Seer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since Salem was seen watching Ruby’s message to the rest of Remnant last episode, what if…the Wicked Witch sends her own message in response to the little red rose.
And in that message, Salem brandishes the tortured face of Oscar Pine---beaten, bloodied and bruised on full spectacle for Ruby to see, threatening to kill Oscar should Ruby not come to her. So in order to protect Oscar, Ruby allows herself to be taken away by the Hound and Tyrian straight to Salem.
Tumblr media
For me, I have this concept of Ruby repeating exactly what she did back in Argus---using the Lamp of Knowledge as a means of buying her more time to think of a proper plan of action to for her to escape Salem with Oscar.
Only this time, when Ruby uses the Lamp improperly, she is practically forced by Jinn to ask a question otherwise the little rose faced a dire consequence; whatever that may be. A part of me is rather curious what the repercussion of one using the Lamp of Knowledge without a question is.
Will Jinn actively punish said person (I mean she does have those chains) or will it be a case where Jinn will practically trap said person within the lamp with her forever unless a question is asked?
For me, I like the idea of Jinn potentially trapping Ruby within the lamp with her forever until she asks a question.
I really wish to believe that Ruby will be the one to ask the final question since my Little Red Rose Ruby Headcanon is that Ruby will use the last question to uncover the truth about her mother’s death and within that revelation; she will simultaneously learn a way to stop Salem once and for all. That’s my theory.
And in the meantime, I’ll stick with it. So yeah, while I really like your idea RR, if done in the canon, I can more see it ending with Oscar figuring out that the Fake Ruby is fake before he could mention Jinn, leading to Oscar being beaten yet again and dragged straight back to his cell while an annoyed Neopolitan watches on in a huff as she reverts back to her true self.
Thus Salem will get the idea of if Oscar wasn’t going to fess up the truth about the Relic to a fake Ruby, then why not bring the real one and use her as a tool  against the young boy.
Wouldn’t that be interesting but that’s how I see it.

Pinehead Headcanons: Oscar’s Hound
Tumblr media
To all my ole school pre-Brotherhood Fullmetal Alchemist fans, does anyone else remember its first (and only) movie---Conqueror of Shamballa? Not going to lie, I don’t remember much from that movie either except for one particular moment that I want to bring up.
In Conqueror of Shamballa, there is a moment where Alphonse attempts to communicate with his brother Edward who’s on the “other side” via the same suit of armour that Al used to possess before he regained his body for this movie.
Since there is a chance that Oscar will become Salem’s prisoner, this squiggly Pinehead got an idea.
We know that Salem is able to somehow communicate with and even through her Grimm monstrosities via the use of her magic, correct? Or something to that liking. We see her demonstrate this last season through her Seer Grimm when she appeared before RWBY and Ironwood and even with Monstra in the first episode of V8.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So imagine if…at some point, while in captivity, Oscar notices Salem performing this same trick and asks Oz if he might be able to do it to with his newly awakened magic. Thus Oscar spends part of his imprisonment, not only bonding with Oz via him aiding him with more control of his magic but let’s say…Oscar succeeds in this newfound ability after attempting to mimic Salem and decides to put it to the test on the closest Grimm to him---meaning the Hound.
Tumblr media
Ya’ll have heard me talk about Oscar becoming the RWBY equivalent of the Golden Cap and relinquishing control of Salem’s Grimm from her by gaining control of some of them with his own magic in previous posts. So, let’s say…Oscar succeeds in gaining full control of the Hound and it becomes his fateful stead.
Tumblr media
And it’s through his newfound connection with the Hound, unbeknownst to Salem, Oscar sends the Hound to deliver a message to the heroes for him and he’s able to speak to his friends through the fantastic beast similar to how Alphonse tried to talk to Ed via his old suit of armour and similar to how Salem did it in V7.
I’m not saying this will be the case for the canon. It’s just a small Pinehead headcanon I wanted to toss out before the new episode drops. As some of you are aware of, I quite like the Hound. I even named him George since personally, I’d really love to see the Hound remain in the series. He’s too unique a design to just be another one off Grimm or even character.
So for what it’s worth, if George is to remain in the PLOT, I think it would be interesting if it’s done in a way where Oscar Pine is able to TAME the Hound of his own strength and power.
Tumblr media
Like just picture how profoundly badass it would be if at some point, Oscar returns to the heroes riding on the back of George the Hound who the little prince has tamed with his newly awakened magical powers (or perhaps even a semblance). And following behind Oscar under his command was full army of Salem’s Winged Beringels and perhaps other Grimm who Oscar had also managed to sway to his side to aid the heroes.
Guys, how awesome would that look! For Oscar to turn Salem’s own creations against her to be used against her! That would EPIC!
Ruby did make the remark back in V7 that the group would be jealous of Oscar’s unique power when it’s finally awakened. So imagine if…that power enabled Oscar to relinquish control of Salem’s Grimm from her. Part of Salem’s threat levels comes from her control of the Grimm.
So if Oscar Pine is somehow able to even the odds and turn the Grimm away from Salem ---not just as a result of something he inherited from Oz or even Ozma but his OWN power---then that would be EPIC for him.
I still love my Oscar the Golden Cap and Oscar’s Creatures of Luxx theories. If we can get something like that in the series then it would be amazing, especially for Oscar. But for now, as always, it’s only a concept that’s still worth sharing.
