Like the character tournament, this one will be broken down into three subtournaments, standard, extended, and special length epsiodes.

Examples of extended length episodes include: It's About Time!, Rollercoaster: The Musical!, or The Lake Nose Monster

Come one, come all, to the Gentleman/Phantom Thief Showdown!

We’re lovers of characters who steal the unstealable, evade the inescapable, confound the unconfoundable, all with a smile on their faces and a tip of their hats! If you enjoy characters who steal priceless things, have a flair for fashion, have a rival (usually in the police), have impeccable manners, and follow a strict code of honor (even if it’s solely their own), then this poll showdown is for you! We’re collecting characters that fit the criteria of gentleman or phantom thieves from all forms of media:

Steals items that are not merely very expensive but often priceless (Such as: fine art, unique gems, historical artifacts)

Leaves a calling card for the intended victim

Master of Disguise

Uses trickery and illusions to escape undetected

Has a rival in the form of a detective or police inspector

Steals for reasons other than personal gain, such as personal challenge, vigilante justice, or just for the lols

May break the laws of physics or common sense to achieve their goal

Is meant to be admired by the audience (or at least respected for their wit, audacity, and adherence to self-made rules)

If there’s anyone in particular you’d like to see in this showdown, please submit characters in this form! Only one character per form, please, but you can submit as many as you’d like! Tthough please, don’t spam a character just because you want to see them! As long as you make a good case for a character, we’ll consider them, even if they’re only submitted once!

There are, of course, a few characters that are so well known that it’s obvious they’ll be here, so don’t worry about nominating them, they’re guaranteed spots in the bracket! They are:

Just a PSA to all you lovely folks:

First off, we would like to thank everyone who has submitted thus far. Twenty-four hours ago, this tournament has gone from 6 nominations to over 60 and we are overjoyed by the overwhelming support. We have thoroughly enjoyed all the characters that have been submitted and the faces we have been introduced to.

However, there have been a few entries that have made us realize that our written criteria has been lacking when it comes to representing the actual gentleman thief. So we would like to add and clarify a few points:

Gender does not matter (Please feel free to submit some ladies! They are very underutilized)

Character must be a hands-on thief, as in pulls heists or rob places. They cannot be conmen, someone who steals through use of words and manipulation to earn their prize (they may pull cons, but that cannot be their primary gimmick).

Gentleman thief means that they are a thief that abides by the gentleman code. They are well-mannered and charming, and they do not kill/are not down for collateral damage of bystanders.

Please do not let this dissuade you from submitting! If you feel a character may qualify, we wold be overjoyed to see them. However, as this is a tournament surrounding the gentleman thief, we would not wish to lose true contenders to the suave conmen.

If you are uncertain, require clarification, or have any questions of the like do not fear sending us an ask! We would be absolutely delighted to answer

Send in your favorite jackass for the Leverage favorite mark poll! Guidelines:

1. We’re looking for the mark you ENJOY the most. That could mean you love them, love to hate them, like their style, like the actor, or even sympathize with them. It’s pretty personal and pretty open. 

2. What we’re NOT looking for is like, the biggest baddest mark: the one with the objectively best plan, or the one who does the most harm, or anything like that. It’s not "who could beat up whom.” We’re also not looking for the best episode or con. We’re just looking at the characters themselves.

3. We’re gonna stick to the 5 OG seasons, just so everyone can stay on the same page.

5. I don’t have a specific time when I’m going to end nominations. I’ll wait till I get bored or stop receiving entries, then I’ll put out one last call and then put the actual poll up pretty soon after that.

SUBMISSIONS FOR THE LOSER'S BRACKET ARE OPEN!

Welcome to the Loser's Bracket submissions! If you don't know how it works, here's a rundown:

For about a week, I will have nominations open for the Loser's Bracket. Nominate as many characters as you want who were in the tournament but have lost, but do not nominate someone more than once or someone who wasn't in the main tournament. (All contestants who lost prior to the semifinals have a shot to be nominated.)

After the Loser's Bracket nominations have been recorded, I will take the top 16 most nominated characters and begin the Loser's Bracket, which will last 4 rounds. Each round will last only a day, unlike the main tournament, where each round lasted a week.

The winner of the Loser's Bracket will have an honorary place on the podium and be mentioned in the finals winners post.

All propaganda for the Loser's Bracket will be unique, so feel free to write more propaganda on why you think they deserve this second chance.

I will stop taking nominations the day that the semifinals poll is over, as I want to start the Loser's Bracket the day the finals go up.

Tragic Siblings are pretty self explanatory but its any tragic, estranged, or the like siblings!

HARD RULE ONE: no harrassment, being vitrilolic, so hateful or anything of the like or you will be blocked. We had a situation last year with a certain fandom and we DO NOT want any repeats of it. It genuinely killed both of our interests in the source and we aren't letting that situation happen again

HARD RULE TWO: Shipping any of the siblings involved in this is an instant block as well, this applies all around the board for all kinds of siblings!

HI I LOVE MUSIC there's SO many fnaf fan songs out there and I'm actually really curious which one is the fan favorite! So I'm setting up this tournament!!! :D

Rules and FAQ

Rules

This is a character-focused poll, not streamer. However, because of the sheer volume of nominations, we are not specifying between different server characters, e.g. Rats SMP Scott versus Origins SMP Scott. Just put down Scott Smajor, and the nomination will be for an entire portfolio of character work. 

The character does not have to identify as a man to be considered, but they do have to fall under the “sexyman” category. E.g. Iskall would be a good fit, but Stressmonster would not. 

The character does not have to be remotely human and in fact it might be better if they’re part monster. We love a good set of wings on a man.

To be considered for the poll, the character must be 18 or older during the run of the server. They do not need to have entered the server as 18, but they need to have exited the server as an adult. There is no maximum age.

Sexyman is using the tumblr definition, which often includes the fact that the source material is not that sexy/detailed/gender, but boy did the artists run with it. We believe the opportunity presented by Minecraft skins offers a peak opportunity for sexyman-ness. You do not have to be attracted to the character, but you do have to go “oh wow, someone’s having fun” at what the artists/writers are doing. 

We will be running a 96-character bracket, for the most fun matchups.

FAQ

Why are you doing this? There is a devil on my shoulder.

I think some of the nominated sexymen are just Sexy Men, not tumblr sexymen. This is when you get to rally followers to your side and defeat them in the court of tumblr democracy. Or vote for them even harder, whichever floats your boat. 

I want to vote for a character who’s an NPC, can I? Go for it. We personally think that Eddie-The-Dilf can make a fine sexyman.

I want to know how many nominations someone has? The mods are answering nomination count questions on a “when we feel like it” basis, cause otherwise we would be answering nomination questions constantly. You may have to wait for the spreadsheet release.

I want to nominate a specific guy five times. Well that would be voter fraud, which is frowned on, but I can’t personally stop you. Do what’s in your heart and what the sexymen drive you to do. 

I want to see the spreadsheet. It will be released once it’s sorted!

When do we get to vote for sexy ladies? First of all, hello tommyinnit, second of all, let me get the sexymen out of the way first and see if this ends up with twitter cancellations before I commit to more brackets.

So when does voting start? As soon as we finish crunching the data! So hopefully Sunday!
