Chapter 8: Forget Me Nots
The soil felt smooth as Gwen finished patting it into place. The seeds pressed gently into the earth, with all the love and care she could give them. It had been weeks since her and Primo spent the night under the honeysuckle in the greenhouse. The garden, henceforth becoming a much-needed sanctuary for her. The one place in all the world she felt happy, if even for only brief moments at a time.
Primo had a mind to bring her there every day, though he wasn’t always able. He could from the moment she stepped into it that the garden awakened the joy inside her. Insisting she’d join him in his working of the land whenever she could. Slowly Gwen began to let go, allowing some of the walls she had built up to come down, caving whenever she ventured to the garden. Rolling up her sleeves and not afraid to get her hands dirty beside him. Creating something beautiful out of something so messy, a simple task that had come to mean so much to her.
She was sitting along the stone patch as she finished up her work. Her collection of seeds all beneath the soil as she began dabbing the small pearls of sweat. The embroidery of her handkerchief donning the ruby red initials of “P.E.I”. Turning to the sound of footsteps towards her and her eyes beginning to sparkle when she caught sight of Primo having just arrived.
He was returning from his meeting with his brothers in preparation for the Ostara celebrations. The annual celebration of the Spring Equinox—of new life would be quickly upon them and with that the Ministry had become busier and busier as the day drew near. The Equinox had normally been a time Primo was at his most jubilant. A chance to start anew and for things to grow—to share his love of flowers with the siblings.
This year however was different. The closer the time came, the more he worried more about how the celebrations would affect Gwen. Expecting that the festivities in on of this particular subject would set her back. Undo all the progress she had made.
“What was the hold up?” she asked him. Having grown just comfortable enough around him to start giving him a bit of grief, though Primo was so smitten he wouldn’t have noticed. Falling in love with her all over again with each passing moment.  His heart warmed by looking at her—hands tinged with dirt and that sweet smile worn brightly across her face.
“Just some final decisions and preparations for Ostara. Terzo is arguing that he should be in charge of the fertility rituals with the new siblings…we beg to differ.” he told her, watching as the smile immediately fell from her face.
“Oh…” was all she could say. Primo reached out his hand to help her up. Gwen, quietly brushing off the dirt from her habit as he gently pressed a kiss into her forehead.
“Mio fiore… you know that we don't have to attend the celebrations if you don’t want to.” he assured her, pulling her closer to him. Gwen nuzzled against his chest. Taking in the scent of incense and dried herbs mixed with the faintest hint of rose. Feeling at ease as she listened to the beat of his heart. Comforted by him like no other.
“No.” she sighed, squeezing him tighter.
“No?” He pulled back to look at her. Her eyes were filled with tears.
“I know how much the celebrations mean to you. What kind of woman would I be to take something away that means so much to you?” she explained. Primo taking her lips onto his. The heat between them, manifesting in the well endowed outline within his slacks. The length of which pressed hard against Gwen’s thigh.
She hummed against his lips. No longer shy about her need of him, as she ran her fingers across it. Primo let out a shutter and a slight moan. Wrapping his arms around her as they lost themselves in their kiss. Deep and passionate as he slipped his hand up between Gwen’s thighs. Meeting quickly with her heated core.
“I need you.” she confessed, his fingertips already teasing at her panties. Gwen, shuffling where she stood in anticipation of him.
“I need you more.” Primo proclaimed, sinking his fingers into her gently. Her head fell back as a breathy moan escaped her. Her delicate hands, holding on tightly to him as he massaged her inside. Pressing intently into the soft, cushiony flesh of her walls. Primo burying his face in her neck, kissing her and whispering praises in her ear.
“Oh Primo… I…I.” she mewled, her lover’s talented digits already bringing her to the brink of ecstasy. Her body, coming undone quickly where she stood. Almost limp in Primo's arms as he worked her over.
“Cum.” Primo insisted. Biting his bottom lip as he felt her tightening all around his fingers. Using his other hand to try and steady her. He loved how beautiful she was this way. The pleasure between them, giving the most delightful flush to her cheeks. The relaxed look on her face was everything.
When he was done, he slipped himself from her. His lips quickly taking onto hers, when to his surprise Gwen dropped carefully down to her knees, undoing the button of his pants and allowing his cock to fall free. She blushed immediately, having never seen it in the daylight. Now laid out in its full glory, intimidating as she looked up at him. Taking a quick lick of the head before Primo ran his fingers through her hair.
“Mmm…” Gwen hummed as she began to tease him, stroking his shaft gently. Her eyes, never leaving him.
“You know you don’t have to do this.” Primo smiled, his cock pulsing with every slight move of her hand. Unwittingly finding himself carefully thrusting into her touch.
“I know, but I want to…wait, what's this?” she asked, her voice filled with concern but more so curiosity. Primo looked down, watching as she carefully traced his scar with her fingertip. It traveled around his shaft, something easily hidden in the dark, but quite obvious in the spotlight of the afternoon sun.
“War injury.” he smirked, watching as Gwen raised an eyebrow at him. He was incredibly funny when he wanted to be.
“Is that so?” she laughed. Moving once more with her fist. Up and down along his full length.
Tumblr media
“Ah… a story for another time.” he assured her, breathless as Gwen moved forward with her intentions to please him. Primo had never felt such rapturous bliss. So in love with this woman. He would give her anything and everything she wanted, if she’d only allow him.
A few short days had passed, and the morning of the Ostara celebrations arrived. Primo, along with his brothers, was occupied from the moment the sun began to rise with the ceremonies. Readying for the likes of fertility rituals and blessings of rebirth. The whole of the Abbey grounds, covered in daffodils and wildflowers. The siblings and ghouls alike enjoying the warm weather and the sounds of children laughing already began to fill the courtyard.
The day was filled with activity. Everyone, buzzing from ritual to ritual. The Papas, presiding over them all in between bountiful feast and drink. It was amazing that there was any room left in anyone’s stomachs come midday.
Gwen drifted carefully through the day. Doing her best to ignore the happy siblings with their small children in tow. Or the group of pregnant sisters who sat before the newly constructed outdoor altar—surrounded by baaing lambs. All of them, waiting for the next ceremony where the Papas would bestow blessings for a safe delivery.
By the time dusk hit, she wished so badly she could run back to her room. Hide from the constant reminders that plagued her at every turn. She promised to try for Primo and was so proud she had managed to stay. Walking around dressed like all the other maidens, who had yet to bear a child, in a white muslin gown.
At some point she knew she would have been expected to participate, like all the others who were present on the grounds. Though she did everything she could to avoid it and successfully hid herself among them. Watching everyone else smiling and enjoying themselves as she greeted them wearing a thinly veiled mask of happiness on her face.
Tumblr media
As the day went on she would catch him, more and more searching for her eyes. Smiling up at Primo when he’d see her. So handsome in his robes, all of them in their full Papal regalia, and so brilliant in his command of the rituals. The one saving grace for the day, was knowing that when it was over, she would be back safely in his comforting arms.
Primo and his brothers stood at the picnic tables, talking to the visiting clergy who had traveled for the festivities. The siblings had been finishing up their food as the ghoul began lighting up all the lanterns. The sun setting as the day was heading to an end, Primo noticeably distracted by his keeping tabs on Gwen. As the group continued to converse, Mr. Saltarian approached them. Placing his hand on Primo’s shoulder.
“Pardon the intrusion Papas, but everything is ready for the conception ritual.” he alerted them.
“Oh?” Primo asked, looking back over his old friend’s shoulder to see the altar, dressed in bouquets of yellow daffodils and lilies, ready for use. Primo knew this was the one ritual he was looking forward to. A few rites read by the chosen Papa and a blessing to the couple before they were allowed to consummate their intentions on the altar. Hoping to gain favor from Lucifer to help them conceive that night.
Primo decided to give it a shot, sending Saltarian a knowing look before heading off to retrieve Gwen from the crowd. The group of them, watching as Primo went running off opposite the altar. Saltarian, giving a hopeful smile as he tried to regroup the rest of the Emeritus brothers. Only then did Copia notice Primo was leaving them.
“Where is he off to? It’s time to start the rit—” Copia began before Secondo cut him off at the pass.
“You know exactly what he is going over there for stronzo.” he told him, Secondo rolling his eyes at Copia. The youngest Emeritus, finally beginning to understand the situation.
“Can’t blame him… it's the perfect opportunity.” Terzo smirked, wiggling his brows at Mr. Saltarian and Copia.
Tumblr media
“Every opportunity for you is the perfect opportunity, now move.” Secondo hissed, shepherding them to the altar.
Primo found Gwen quickly, seated by herself on a bench in the far back of the yard. Her eyes were closed. She seemed to be mediating or finding a way to control her emotions— though Primo could tell she had just about had enough. Coming to sit down beside her and taking her hand in his, instinctively Gwen knew it was him.
“Is it over yet?” she asked him, the need to cry heavy in her tone.
“Almost amore… almost.” he assured her, bringing her closer to rest against him. He could hear her sniffling. Bringing his hand up to wipe the warm tears that rolled down her cheeks. He couldn’t ask her now. The idea would only make things worse.
“Don’t be… you know I was going to wait until a bit later to show you something, but I think now would be a good time. Get you away from all this, spend some time just the two of us before bed, si?” Primo asked as Gwen brought her eyes to him.
“I’m sorry.” she told him. The weight of the day had been too much and now she was unable to hold back the emotions bubbling up inside.
“Ok… ok.” she sniffled, taking Primo’s hand as he led the way. To Gwen’s surprise he led her to the garden.
“It’s just over here.” he told her as they passed the roses and the newly bloomed poppies, hellebores, and bloodroots. Finding a small section of flower bed that was covered in the tiniest little sprouts, still lacking their blooms.
“What are these?” she asked him. Primo smiled, sneezing tightly to her hand.
“These are Forget Me Nots.” he began, watching as Gwen’s eyes began to tear up once again, “...I thought it would be nice for you to have a place to come when you need to think about them—the baby you lost.” he explained, his mismatched eyes roaming her face, watching her reaction. He wondered what she was thinking. Her eyes staring into his as if she could see directly into his soul. The tears balancing themselves on her lashes.
“Thank you.” was all she could say before the floodgates opened and Gwen began to weep into Primo’s chest. The stress of the day, coupled with his sweet gesture, hitting her full force. Unable to control her sobs.
“Of course… You know grief isn’t something we forget or get over. It's something we grow around. I know that I could never give you back, and I never expect you to forget them.” he told her. Primo, hoping that this small place just for her as a memorial to her baby would be able to help her heal.
“I know amore… I know.” Primo said, as he held her close. Rubbing her back gently as she continued to cry in his arms. No matter how much time would pass, Primo knew that a part of her would also ache for what she lost. He only hoped she’d allow him to help carry the burden and to allow herself to heal.
“I was so happy.” Gwen cried, holding on to Primo for dear life as she felt her heart crushing inside her chest. The pain flowing through her as inside she recalled that day. The worst day of her life.
Notes:
This chapter features a head canon involving a scar on Primo's *ahem* lol anyways I want to give credit to NYDELIDE on twitter and thank them for allowing me to include this in the chapter.

☾ ⋆・゚:⋆・゚❝ shell of an engine, unexplained / burst !! to FIRE, ( engulfed ) in flames / breathing e x h a u s t, a HEATWAVE mirage . . . ❞

Porém, substituiu o criador Man of Action por Dwayne McDuffie como desenvolvedor.
Querem incentivar as crianças a cometerem assédio?
Man of Action criou Gwen como uma personagem feminina independente e empoderada.
· Matar inocentes por dinheiro: “Kevin 11” e “Acusado” (série original);
· Matar inocentes por prazer: “Acusado” e “Luta de Revanche” (série original);
· Matar por vingança: “De Volta Com Uma Vingança” (série original) e “Vingança” (Alien Force);
· Enganar: “Kevin 11”, “Luta de Revanche” (série original), “Uma Artimanha de Kevin”, “Simples”, “Questão de Ira” (Alien Force) e “Muitas Felicidades” (Omniverse);
· Contrabandear armas: “O Retorno de Ben 10 - Parte 1” e “Simples” (Alien Force);
· Fazer associações criminosas: “Uma Artimanha de Kevin”, “Simples”, “Questão de Ira”, “Diga-me Com Quem Andas” (Alien Force);
· Roubar: “O Retorno de Ben 10 - Parte 2” e “A Manopla” (Alien Force);
· Ferir os sentimentos de mulheres: “Os Encantos de Encantriz” (Alien Force), “Hora do Herói”, “Vídeo Games”, “Garota Problema” (Ultimate Alien) e “Muitas Felicidades” (Omniverse);
· Agredir mulheres: “De Volta Com Uma Vingança” (série original), “O Inimigo Do Meu Inimigo” e “Poder Absoluto” (Ultimate Alien).
Apenas a série original merece nossa admiração.

Into the spiderverse
Tumblr media

X-Men (2000)
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
Men In Black (1997)
Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014)
Spider-Man (2002)
Spider-Man 2 (2004)

During his retirement, Papa Primo Emeritus falls in love with a new Sister of Sin who has suffered a tragic loss. While the new sister settles into the Abbey, Primo can’t help but grow more infatuated with her. Promising to give her everything she desires, but can he win her affections when she still can’t let go of the past?
Chapter 9: Gardening
Also available HERE on AO3! Haven’t started yet, start from the beginning HERE!
Definitely NSFW below the cut!
The sun was shining brightly on the Abbey, and it was the first time in a long time Gwen felt at peace. Getting her hands dirty as the soil sifted through her fingers. Content to feel the wind through her hair as she sat with Finn in the middle of the garden. The two of them, enjoying the warmth of the day atop their cheeks as they tended to the plants.
In the quiet moments, Gwen’s mind was heavy with thoughts of Primo. Shortly after the Ostara celebrations he was called to leave for a Ministry wide conference in Glasgow. A situation that required at least one Papa to attend and Secondo and Terzo had gone in recent years and Copia had his hands full, they had no choice. He had only been gone for a couple of weeks and in that time, Gwen hardly knew what to do with herself.
His absence made her realize, both unfortunately and unfortunately, how much she needed him. Finding herself looking for him in all his usual spots. Expecting to see him sitting in the confessional or working away in the deep recesses of the garden. Or even finding him when she snuck a glance over at the patch of bittersweet Forget Me Knots, he had planted for her.
What was even more painful was staring at the empty spot in their bed. Struggling all the while to come to an answer for him. To give him resolution to the burning question he’d asked her just before leaving. A question she was still so unsure how to answer.
“Do you think you’ll say yes?” Finn asked her, pulling Gwen out from the quiet reverie. Gwen smiled softly. Of course, Fiona was curious. The whole Abbey was waiting to hear Gwen’s answer. After all, it had been years since a Papa had taken on a Prime Mover. It was one of the most revered and honorable positions within the church. One even the most devout and beautiful of sisters rarely came to hold. Spouse of a Papa and fruit bearer of the Satanic Papacy.
Had it been asked of anyone else; they’d have jumped at the chance. Hopeful that they would be able to carry the next in line for the Miter. The evidence of desire, most noted in those who would vie for Terzo or Secondo’s chamber key. Throwing themselves shamelessly at them during Black Mass. All clambering for the chance to have a permanent spot on one of the Papa’s arms. For Gwen, it wasn’t the same.
Her affection for Primo was true and unlike anything she had ever felt before. He had given up so much for her. Binding the two of them before Satan just to give her a second chance. Each passing moment between them, having her wishing she could bear him a child. Deep down, however, she worried that she never could. A fear that kept her from allowing herself to truly be his.
“I—I don’t know.” Gwen answered, brushing off the dirt from her knees as she rose up and wiped the notes of sweat from her brow. Letting out an exhale, before picking up her things and heading back towards the greenhouse.
“Gwen…please. You can’t be serious.” Finn exclaimed, trailing after her. Careful not to trip over the freshly planted creeping Phlox as she struggled to keep up her pace.
“But I am…I am not sure I am cut out for that sort of thing.”
“You’re not cut out for that sort of thing? Gwen…are you mad?” Finn asked her, managing to finally catch up. Position herself in front of Gwen to stop her just before the greenhouse door.
“I can’t do it again—” Gwen began. Finn’s face turned soft, trying to understand where it was coming from when the two heard a voice coming from behind them.
“Sisters? I hope I am not interrupting anything.” Mr. Saltarian asked, his eyes squinting in the sunlight as he approached.
“Of course not, what can we do for you.” Finn smiled, Gwen turning to do the same.
“Well actually I was hoping to speak with Sister Guinevere alone.”
“Ah, I see.” Finn began realizing what was up, “...of course. Maybe you can talk some sense into her. See you at supper.” she said as she winked at Gwen, taking her leave. As Finn disappeared in the distance, Gwen grew quiet. Deciding to continue on with her business within the greenhouse as Saltarian followed closely behind.
“I take it you still don’t have an answer for him.” he asked, Gwen’s eyes shooting over to him a moment, feeling a bit surprised.
“Sweet Satanas. Does everyone know?” she asked, feeling uneasy, waiting for his answer.
“Naturally. It isn’t every day that this kinda thing happens. No matter what vapid excuse you might give about your relationship with him, everyone knows that you are together.” Saltarian replied, before taking a seat at the rod iron table.
“I know…” she admitted.
“Why don’t you just tell him how you feel and be together. It is no secret that you two are in love. It’s as plain as what's left of these gray hairs on my head.” he told her. Both of them, letting out a lighthearted chuckle as Gwen took a seat beside him. Saltarian, reaching across the table to take her hand in his.
“You’re right. I do love him.”
“See…then it's only a matter of time before you have to face that. You don’t want to be alone in the darkness forever Gwen. I know how far you’ve come since being here.”
“I have. I just don’t think I can give him what he wants.” she explained, sniffling back as she tried her best to maintain composure.
“It's what you want too. If anyone can give it to you… it's him. Just think about it. Ok?” Saltarian asked her. His pleading eyes, begging for her to give his friend a real chance. A chance they both deserved at happiness.
“Ok.” she smiled as Saltarian gently squeezed her hands.
“He is coming back tonight. If I were you, I wouldn’t wait much longer to give him an answer.” he suggested, rising up from the table. Gwen nodded as he made his way to the door. Leaving her alone with her thoughts in the greenhouse.

It was amazing to Gwen just how quickly the warm days were turning into cold nights. Sitting patiently in the old armchair just beside the fire. Snuggling up tightly in Primo’s old throw, breathing in the lingering scent of his cologne. Trying her best to wait up for him but finding herself slowly drifting into sleep. Just as she nodded off, the sound of the bedroom door creaking quietly open awakened her.
“Papa?” she asked, easing herself upright in the chair and turning to find him standing in the doorway.
“I am sorry I woke you. I know it is late.” Primo smiled, walking towards her. Her silhouette dancing against the light of the fire. Primo, bending forward to press a soft kiss on her forehead. Taking a spot on the other chair beside her. Gwen, humming in delight, wishing this moment between them could stay just like this. Without the pressure of knowing that he was undoubtedly waiting for her to answer.
“I know that this might not be what you want to talk about right now.” Primo began.
Oh no here it comes, she thought to herself. Swallowing back the knot forming in her throat as he continued on.
“I assume you have been thinking about what I asked before leaving?” Primo, watching as the smile began to fade from her face. The moment she had been dreading, had finally come.
“Papa…” she began, Primo looking at her as if the name was foreign to him. Correcting herself before she continued on, “Primo…I just. I just can’t. I’m sorry.” she told him, her eyes falling to the floor. Primo let out a frustrated sigh. He wasn’t having it any longer. He stood up and came up before her. Taking hold of her face in his hands as he pulled her up to look at him.
“And why not? Tell me. I want to hear you say the reason.” he demanded.
“You know why.” she answered, the tears already welling up in her eyes. Though she knew this moment was inevitable, it didn’t make turning Primo’s proposal down any easier. The pain grew as she saw his face. His heartbreak, and her own, made her want to die.
Primo’s anger and frustration grew. He knew she was trapped in the past still, despite everything they had been through. All he wanted was to make her happy. To help her—to love her. To give her everything she ever wanted, if she’d only let him.
“That's not an answer Guinevere and you know it. You can’t stop living forever!” Primo snapped, dropping his hands from her face and pacing in front of the fireplace. Gwen’s eyes widening at his hostile demeanor. The fury inside him, unlike anything she had seen from him before.
“I am afraid Primo you know this…” she cried, but Primo was done. While every time before he had comforted her—coddled her. Helped her to calm the inner demons that raged inside her at the wounds of her past. Tonight his heart could no longer bear the burden. He had finally had enough.
“Then be afraid Gwen! That is part of life. All life is made of horror and magic and happiness and despair. All of it! Let me show you that I can make it worthwhile. That I can help you—”
“You can’t help me!” Gwen snapped back jumping up from the chair. Ready to storm out of the Papal suite and find refuge in Finn’s room for the night. Her blood boiling, wanting to run from the truth.
“Oh, but I can and I will. Be my Prime Mover Gwen. Let me love you and honor you as the wonderful being that you are. Let me spend the rest of my life showing you how much I love you. Let me give you a child.” he begged her, grabbing hold of her wrist and turning her to face him. Laying out the truth for her, bitter and hot.
“What?” Gwen responded, angry at him for forcing her to acknowledge things head on.
“I know I can do this. I can make you happy.”
“Primo how…how can you say such a thing to me?” she asked him, her eyes now red with tears. Her wilted mascara, streaming down her cheeks. Streaks of blackened scars, bearing the pain she felt plainly on her face.
“Because I know it to be true. I can’t replace what you’ve lost, but I can and will make you happy. I can give you a life. A love. A family…”
“Primo I… I am sure you could give that to someone, and they would be so lucky to have it, but that someone is not me.” Gwen told him. Her hands held tight to her shoulders. Almost hugging herself as she tried everything not to fall apart in front of him.
“Why not?” he asked, refusing to take no for an answer.
“Because.”
“Because why dolcezza?!”
“Because I have already lost one and I will NEVER get them back. NEVER.” she sobbed, collapsing to her knees and burying her face in her hands. Primo took a deep breath and settled down beside her. His old aching joints, cursing him for his haste.
“It won’t happen again. Not this time.” he promised. Pulling her close to his chest. Gwen’s tears, staining the fabric of his shirt as she sobbed hard against him.
“How ? How do you know? Some spell? Some ritual? I won't be made some spectacle for the Ministry or for you to help prove something.” she hissed, deflecting the reason. Hoping to convince herself that Primo was only doing this to prove his virility. To be held in high regard for it, like his brothers had been for theirs. Hoping to produce an heir to prove a point to the rest of the Ministry.
Primo refused to allow it. Staring at her, deep into her eyes as he confronted her. Ready to fight for the woman he loved, even if it killed him in the process. She would have to hear him out.
“That's not at all what this is about, and you know it! There will be no ceremonies, no public rituals, no prying eyes—just the two of us. I want us to share everything, share our lives. For you to truly be mine. If we conceive, we conceive the way Lucifer intended.” he explained. Gwen turned her eyes away from him. Ashamed for her accusations, for evening having thought such a thing.
“I don't even know why I'm listening to all this…am I that desperate.”
“No.”
“Then what then?”
“It's because you love me too cara. You felt it just as I did, the moment we saw each other there was something sparked between us.” Primo proclaimed, smiling at her as she struggled to stop crying.
“Primo, I don't know what to say.”
“Say you will let me. Say you will allow me to give you everything I can. The most intimate parts of myself.”
“Heh…You act as if you haven’t given those to me already… or plenty of other sisters I imagine.” Gwen scoffed as Primo picked her up in his arms. Catching her off guard as he carried her with youthful ease to their shared bed. Looking deep into her eyes once more and laying her down gently.
“No I haven’t. I have taken many lovers, sure…but I have never spilled my seed freely inside them. Never before had I been certain enough to allow it. Certain enough to—”
“To what Papa?” Gwen cried, swallowing back as she watched the look of desire and passion growing steadily in Primo’s eyes.
“To become a father. I hadn't even thought of it before you and now all I can think of is you. You cara. Spending my every breath whispering your praises. Touching you, kissing you, being inside you. Watching and waiting for your belly to grow round with life–a gift I want to give you more than anything. I want you to be my Prime Mover. To be mine always.”
“I won't listen to this.” Gwen said, turning to face away from him as he hovered above her on the bed.
“Have I not already proven I would give my own life for you. Am I not bound to you for Lucifer’s sake?”
“I didn’t ask for that!”
“No…no you didn’t, but I cannot bear to think of a world without you in it. Without that smile that ignites fire within my soul.” Gwen turned back towards him. Knowing that she wanted him, just as much as he wanted her. It was the fear of her past holding her back. The fear that she would relive the worst moments of her life again.
“Primo…I do love you, but I just can’t.”
“You can and you will amore. I promise to make you happy, and I have never broken a promise. I don’t intend on doing it now.” he vowed, bringing his lips to hover above hers.
“Papa.” she said breathily as she stared at him. Her love for him, slowly melting away the fear. Seeing the love in his eyes. Knowing that every word spoken was true. Gwen, beginning to think that as much as it scared her to move on, the thought of being without him might scare her even more.
“Sister.” he uttered just as she rose up to kiss him. Lips locked together. Soft and sweet like the honeysuckle from the garden. The taste of one another, so passionate and whole. Gwen’s legs wrapped around him after Primo’s hands made quick work of unbuttoning his pants. Throwing them to the floor, his body was ready and hard for her.
“I need you.” she moaned, caught off guard by the sound of him tearing off her panties. The cotton, shredding easily in his grasp and his wandering fingers went traveling over the mound of her sex.
“Amore.”
"Ah…ahh..." Gwen moaned into their kiss. The heat between them was growing quickly and before they knew it the rest of their clothing had fallen to the wayside. Primo carefully slid his fingers inside her. Gwen, moaning and writhing as she relaxed her legs open for him. Allowing him more access to her as he used her slick from his fingers to wet himself. Pressing the head of his cock against her entrance. Nudging her open before slowly pushing deep inside.
“Oh Gwen.” he groaned, reaching the back of her insides. Carefully moving in and out as Gwen held tight to his shoulders. Her legs now once again wrapped around his waist as her cunt throbbed intensely inside with every thrust of his hips. The two of them, losing themselves in the moment of passion between them.
It was true they were in love, and nothing was going to change that. Not Gwen’s fear, not Primo’s age, not anything that the world could throw at them. At this moment it was just them. Locked together as one.
Primo was pounding steadily away as she squirmed beneath him. Her toes, curling and nails dug deep into the flesh of Primo’s shoulder as she came over and over again. Overwhelmed with the sensations of lust and love. Primo, too, was engulfed in it. Swimming in ecstasy as he felt her fluttering around him. Trying his best not to cum with each pulsation inside her.
He was giving it his all, waiting for the right moment. Moaning and grunting as he was determined to send Gwen over one last time. He knew it had come as her body once more melted beneath him, giving way to yet another orgasm—exhausted and languid.
“Do you accept me?” He asked, driving himself harder and harder inside her. Determined to get as deep as he could. She was shaking around him, moaning and whimpering as her body locked tightly on to him. Sensations rushing through her, her soul unfolding for him like the petals of a flower. His words barely discernible over the salacious sounds of their sex and her moans.
“What?” She asked, breathy and weak in pleasure.
“Do you accept me? Will you allow me to cum inside you? Give you what we both want?” Primo asked her. His gaze fixed on her as he tried desperately not to cum. Waiting for her to consent. She was overwhelmed, feeling the tears pricking once again at her eyes. Gwen wanted it all—comfort, pleasure, a life where happiness still existed, a baby, and though she had only now fully admitted it, she wanted Primo.
“Yes…ah!” She cried out. Primo, bucking hard inside her, his pace quickened and breathing ragged. Tangled up together in a mix of sweat and desire. Both completely lost in the moment of rapture between them.
“I love you.” Primo said, letting out a guttural moan. His hips, stuttering as he grabbed tightly unto hers. Pushing himself in as far as he could before pouring out everything he had. Filling her deep into her core, and concentrating that it happened exactly as intended.
“I—I love you too.” she cried. The two of them, holding on to one another a moment before Primo finally collapsed beside her. Gwen, falling fast asleep in his arms, leaving Primo awake and alone with his thoughts. Feeling exhausted but filled with joy and excitement with the knowledge of what they had finally done.

Guinevere lie awake in her bed, staring up at her hand. Tracing the lines of her palm as she held it out before her. Hand illuminated in the moonlight that flooded in from her window. Her mind still lingering on the feel of Primo’s hand on hers into the early hours of the morning.
It had been such a long time since something as innocent as holding hands had affected her so. Fuzzy memories of middle school puppy love, swirling in her mind. Her heart, racing at the thought of it. Wondering if she would ever return to a time when love was a magical thing—one that brought her happiness and not pain.
She knew it was Primo. He was the one making her second guess. The one who made her wounded heart feel as if it might be capable of healing for the first time. The one who felt like he might change everything.
Gwen closed her eyes, the tears beginning to form from beneath her heavy lids. Swallowing back the knot in her throat at the thoughts that accompanied her. She rolled over and buried her face in her pillow. Thankful that no one would notice just how tear stained it had become.
Despite her best efforts, she couldn’t help but imagine it. Allowing herself to envision a life with him. A life of romantic glances from across the table, shared laughter over things no one else could possibly understand, and if she was lucky, a child who had her smile and his Emeritus eye.
She pressed harder into her pillow. Heart aching as she mourned the loss of things she never had. Sniffling back and her lips quivering as she tried to stop herself from crying. Then suddenly a hand settled atop her shoulder.
“Gwen?” Fiona asked, her voice full of concern. Gwen looked up from the sanctuary of her pillow. Catching a glimpse of Fiona’s worried face. “Are you ok? I can hear you crying.”
“I’m ok, just having a rough night is all. I will be fine in the morning Finn. Go back to sleep.” Gwen insisted, wiping away her tears and sitting up beside Fiona on the side of her bed. Fiona put her arm around her. Letting out a heavy sigh before telling Gwen something she hadn’t quite expected to hear.
“I say give him a chance Gwen…it's no secret he gave up his life for yours. What more love and devotion could you ask for.” she reasoned. Gwen said nothing, only staring blankly into the darkness of the room. Fiona, giving her a final pat on the back before returning to her own bed. Guinevere left to contemplate the heavy words still thick in the air.
Love and devotion, Gwen thought to herself. The words, though heavy, felt light as they reached her heart. Drying her eyes of tears, resolved to return to the comfort of her bed. Her mind, still on the feel of her hand in his.

“It is so good to be back.” Copia cheered, raising a glass to the room full of siblings and clergy members. All of them clinging to his every word. The energy jubilant and bright as Copia was welcomed back into the Abbey’s bosom with open arms. “Thank you all for coming…truly it has been an honor to serve you all. To serve Lucifer. But like all good things, it has come to an end and now I am home with you all. My friends and family. Please now let us all raise a glass to the Ministry for their efforts and praise Satan for this beautiful party here tonight si? May he walk with you all in darkness—leading you from the light.”
“Nema!” called out the crowd. A sea of crystal glasses, all practically spilling over with the finest of Italian wine, clinging together as the celebration continued. The Great Hall, sparkling in glitz and glamor from the royal blue and Rose gold adornments of the room. So much beauty as far as the eye could see, but for Primo, his eyes never once left Gwen.
Her hair was pulled up into a loose bun. A few curly tresses, trickling out and framing her face. He could stare at her all night. The way her black dress hugged the curves of her breasts and hips was sinful. Sending Primo into a constant fit of adjusting himself in his chair, praising Lucifer for his being able to remain seated at the table.
“Is that her?” Copia asked him as he came to sit down beside him, Primo’s eyes still locked on her. As good a sign as any that this was the case.
“Si, that is Sister Guinevere.”
“She is very beautiful fratello…and if I know you, and your tastes, then she must be beautiful inside too.” Copia smiled, giving Primo an approving pat to the back and taking a sip of red wine from his glass.
“She’s the most beautiful creature that I have ever seen.” Primo professed as suddenly his eyes were met with Gwen's, honey-colored and sparkling.
"Well, I will tell you one thing…she'll give you a beautiful child." Copia smiled, watching the two of them stare from across the room. Both of them, so enamored, it was a wonder to Copia how they’d been able to remain apart.
"Fratellino, would you be offended if I took my leave?" Primo asked him. The glint in his eye telling Copia all he needed to know.
"Of course…give her my best." he replied, sending Primo off with a wink as he got up from his chair. Leaving the massive head table with a nod of his head. Approaching the far-right side of the room where she was sitting. Fiona and a few other siblings sitting beside her at the lavish table. Covered in its center by deep blue roses and hints of golden alchemilla.
"Sister Guinevere, would you do me the honor of accompanying me? I have something I wish to show you." He asked her, holding out his hand for her to take.
"Promise you won't try anything." Gwen playfully jabbed, though inside her nerves were firing from all sides.
“I wouldn’t dream of such a thing.” he said, both of them beginning to laugh. What a sweet laugh it was, one Primo thought could be matched by no other.
"Then of course Papa." she told him, taking his hand as he helped her out from her chair. Gwen glanced back for only a moment.  Fiona sent her a smile and a wink. The whole Abbey, watching on as Gwen left the hall on the arm of the first Emeritus son.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“Where are we going?” Gwen asked him as Primo led her down a part of the Abbey she had yet to explore. Their hands held tightly together as they turned the corner. “Oh my—” she began as her question was answered. Eyes widening at the sight before her. “What…what is this place?”
“This, amore mio, is my most sacred of places.” he explained, leading her inside. It was the glass-walled, crystalized wonder that was his greenhouse. A magical place that led out to the massive garden on the southern side of the Abbey. Primo’s well-tamed foliage and flowers, tended to by his own two hands, laid out for passersby to admire. They were, however, only able to peer at them through the glass, Primo himself the only one ever allowed inside—until tonight.
Gwen was in awe of it. The spray of botanical life—greens and hues of reds, pinks, and yellows all like all swirling together like a painting. She squeezed his hand, looking over to him with excitement written all over her face. Her smile, hitting Primo’s heart—hard and fast. She looked happy for perhaps the first time ever. Seeing her this way was one of the best things Primo had ever experienced.
As he led her inside, they could see the small specks of light from the fireflies that floated in from outside. Their glow like stars spread out across the night sky. Gwen turned to face him, clearly overcome with emotion. “It’s so beautiful.” she told him. Reaching out to allow the small bug to land on her. Crawling along her palm until it once again took flight.
“Not as beautiful as you–the flower I cherish most.” he told her as they passed under the honeysuckle-covered trellis. Blooms of pastel pink—their insides a rich red. Strikingly beautiful and their scent enticing. A sweetness from inside, one that Primo imagined would be like something else he’d longed to taste.
The inseam of his pants was beginning to tighten as the thought of it sent his blood racing. The need to bury himself between Gwen’s legs. Tasting the sweet nectar from inside her. Pleasure pouring from her, into his willing mouth—it was almost too much to bear.
He struggled against his thoughts, trying desperately to calm them as he watched her taking it all in. Wonder and excitement in her eyes. Primo pulled her closer towards him. His eyes gently falling upon her face. Watching that tell of blush hit the apples of Gwen’s cheeks.
He wanted to kiss her so badly. To take her in this, the place he loved most when suddenly he watched as Gwen’s gaze changed. Primo, wondering if she could feel it too. A moment where they both longed to kiss the other.
“I must confess cara. I—I have imagined this moment between us. Though my mind could never have conjured just how beautiful you would look right now.” Primo confessed. Gwen felt it, that much was true. As much as she wanted Primo, the ache in her chest and the urge to run and leave him behind lest she be hurt was so strong. She began to cry, feeling overwhelmed with all the emotion stirring inside her.
Primo gently caressed Gwen’s cheek, feeling the warmth of her tears as they hit his hand. His palm, filling with the pain that lay inside her. She looked up at him, seeing the compassion and love in his eyes. Wanting so badly to allow herself to do as her heart desired—to show him how much she felt it too.
“I—I think I need to go.” Gwen sniffled back and wiped the tears from her eyes. Pulling away from him and collapsing into herself. Her eyes, drawn to the traces of petals and dried leaves that graced the ground.
“Why mio fiore, is it something I said?” Primo asked her. Gwen looked back up at him, pained to think he blamed himself for her upset. She was so scared to speak her truth. So she took in a deep breath and tried her best to muster the strength of will to tell him. Knowing in her heart, he deserved at least that.
“Oh no Papa…it’s not you…you have never done anything but be kind and compassionate with me. Hell you've even given me back my life, binding yourself to me…something I can never repay you for…or for one ever imagine you wanting to do but…it’s just—it’s just because of the way I feel around you…it…it might make me lose control.” she confessed. Primo lifted her face, urging her to look at him once more. Smiling softly down at her as he watched more tears well in her eyes.
“Would that be so bad cara mia? To allow yourself the reprieve? To let go and let things happen as they may?”
“It scares me. I don't think my heart can take any more.” she answered.
“I want nothing more than to make you happy Guinevere. I would never hurt you…never.” Primo vowed as he pulled her close once more. Kissing her deeply—passionately. Gwen, quickly melted into his arms. Held by him in a way no one had ever held her before. His hand, gently tangling in her hair. Holding her close to him. His devotion, on full display as her inhibitions fell to the wayside. Losing herself in the comfort of his arms.
They pulled away reluctantly for a moment, staring into each other's eyes. Mouths open and breathing heavy as Primo spoke again. “In case I hadn’t made it perfectly clear before amore—I am desperately in love with you.” Primo said, as his hands fell from Gwen’s shoulders to the small of her back. She turned her head, a bit shameful as she struggled to hear the words.
“How can you be in love with someone who’s so broken?”
“You’re not broken Guinevere…You never were.” Primo assured her as a single tear fell from her eyes. He gently wiped it away as their mouths met once more. Tongues dancing in sweet serenity, surrounded by the light of the fireflies and the sweet smell of the honeysuckle.
They spend several moments getting lost in each other's arms. Primo and Gwen, both lowering to the ground, just out of sight of possible onlookers. Primo hovered over Gwen. Basking in her radiance as he hung above her. Gwen, settling into the ground beneath her. Allowing Primo to explore her. Kissing over her mouth, her jaw. His soft lips, traveling to the delicate line of her neck. Hand, sliding gently over her breast. Tenderly kneading it as he brushed ever so slightly over her sensitive nipple. Gwen closed her eyes with the sensation. Her soul, practically  ascending from her mortal coil as she felt Primo free her breast from her dress—drawing her nipple into his willing mouth.
“Ah…mmm…Primo…” she moaned, finding her hand creeping over the back of his head. Holding him to her breast as she felt the steady heat rising from between her legs. Occasionally feeling the swell from Primo’s cock as it rubbed against the inside of her thigh. Already writhing beneath him, her tousled hair collecting an array of petals from the ground. The fall of the loose strands, making her even more desirable to him.
“I want to taste you, to savor every drop of your desire—say you will allow me.” Primo begged as he positioned himself between her legs. On his knees as he waited with bated breath at her word. Permission to descend upon her.
“Yes, yes…” she whimpered, wiggling out from her panties as Primo pulled them down from her legs. Painfully slow as his fingers caressed the gentle skin of her thighs. Fingertips dimpling them as he waited for them to part.
“Spread them for me, please…” he groaned, his desire mounting. Gwen allowed her legs to fall open. Revealing her swollen, wet folds. Waiting and ready for him. Gwen, desperate now to feel his touch once again—his love.
“Oh fu—” Gwen moaned out, working quickly to cover her mouth as Primo’s lips grazed over her clit. The swollen bud, throbbing at the sensation. Her insides too, pulsing with the anticipation of him inside her. His tongue, rolling over her and traveling up through her folds. Settling once again on her clit.
Primo, gently sucking and licking as Gwen’s grip on his head tightened up. His ministrations drawing her ever closer to release. He lowered his mouth, his tongue teasing at her folds, the tip of his nose pressed against her clit. Primo brought two of his fingers carefully inside her, working her until he had unlocked her orgasm.
“Ah…oh…Primo!” Gwen called out as he absolutely devoured her. Lapping up every drop she had to give. A smug smile on his face as he emerged from between her thighs. His face paint smeared delightfully across his face.
“I need you amore. Please say you’ll have me.” he begged, his cock leaking withs need. Gwen reached down to feel him. Her hand full of his desire, a bit in shock of his size. She left out a shaky breath and she dragged her fingers back up to the zipper. Pulling it down to allow Primo’s hard cock to be free of the confines of his paints.
“You weren’t kidding.” she chuckled, steadily panting and biting her lip as she allowed herself to look at it for the first time.
“Absolutely not.” Primo growled as he brought his lips back to hers. His cock hanging out freely between them. Gwen took it into her hand, both of them gasping a bit as she stroked him. Mouths, still touching, wanting not to part.
“Take me.” Gwen spoke against the tenderness of his lips. The words soaring through him as he grabbed her, rolling her to straddle him. Gwen panting, filled with excitement and joy for the first time in as long as she could remember. Watching Primo’s loving eyes cover her body with their gaze. Knowing how badly he wanted her—needed her. It was intoxicating.
Gwen helped Primo find his place just at her entrance. Her eyes, rolling back in his skull as she allowed him inside her. His well endowed cock, slowly spreading her open. Her body, tugging against him—already desperate for him to fill her.
“Cazzo, ti senti così bene... come per magia. Ti amo cara, così tanto!” Primo groaned, stifling his moaning as he felt her squeezing him around from inside. The throbbing of her walls was almost too much. Primo, working hard to contain his orgasm, wanting to last as long as he could. Hoping that he might be able to cum with her.
“Ah…ah…ah!” Gwen mewled as she rode him. Her thighs pressed tight against his as she rose up and fell onto his shaft. Both of them, creating more heat and humidity between them than the greenhouse ever could. Their efforts, hot and sticky—yet slow and deep.
It wasn’t long before Primo could feel her insides begin to shake—to quiver. Her resolve, falling fast as she began to cum. He worked fast, flipping her back onto her back and pulling her up over his lap. Sliding into her with ease and continuing to thrust steadily deeper and deeper as she came. The fluids of her satisfaction, leaking all around his cock.
“Si amore, now cum for me again…Show me how good it feels.” Primo moaned, relishing the feel of her cunt pulsing around him.
“Ah…oh my god…”Gwen cried out as he drove his cock deeper inside her. Primo gripped tight to the moist flesh of her thighs. Holding them up as he thrusted into her with intention—worshiping her.
“Amore…mmm…I—I’m going to cum.” Primo groaned, feeling himself beginning to give way.
“Wait! No, no…don’t!” Gwen cried, pushing back against Primo, forcing him out from inside her.
“Gah…” Primo groaned, already too close as his orgasm came bursting through him. Pulling out just in time to spill his seed over her belly.

Gwen and Primo lay together in the greenhouse. Held still but close together as they remain content even in the silence. Both still breathless and drained. Gwen snuggled up closer to Primo. Resting her head on his chest as Primo played with her disheveled hair. The golden-brown locks, flowing like sand through his fingers.
Gwen hoped he wasn’t upset. She knew how badly he wished to cum inside her. She just couldn’t risk it. Unable to let go of the fear that lingered on.
Thankfully Primo didn’t mention it as they lay together under the glass ceiling of the greenhouse. The stars in the night’s sky, shining down upon them. Gwen would push the thoughts away again. Burying them down for the time being—waning nothing more than to enjoy this moment between them.
“I think you are the most wonderful man I have ever known Papa.” Gwen whispered as she nuzzled into the small patch of hair on Primo’s chest. He brushed her hair behind her ear, watching her head raise up to face him, an exhausted, but content smile on her face.
“And you my dear are like thunder—a roar amongst the heavens.”

Potpourri
During his retirement, Papa Primo Emeritus falls in love with a new Sister of Sin who has suffered a tragic loss. While the new sister settles into the Abbey, Primo can't help but grow more infatuated with her. Promising to give her everything she desires, but can he win her affections when she still can't let go of the past?
Chapter 6: Potpourri
Also available HERE on AO3! Haven’t started yet, start from the beginning HERE!
Read below the cut
The night of the new sibling initiation had come and gone. Days passing as gently as the spring breeze and the Abbey returning back to normal routine. Only the memory and the new titles of newcomers remained. That was for all except what happened between Primo and Gwen.
The Abbey was practically buzzing with it. The normally composed and eldest Emeritus son had been spotted ravishing one of the new siblings during initiation, a truth that had been on all the mouths of those who dwelled in the Abbey. Both ghouls and siblings alike were intrigued by it. Though carnal interactions with siblings were commonplace for his younger brothers, this kind of conduct wasn’t at all what the Abbey inhabitants had come to expect from Primo.
All of them, smiling and whispering whenever they saw Papa and the new sister together. It took all Fiona had not to spill the small juicy details she had acquired of her friend's affair. Though what she and everyone else had been conjuring up was far more salacious than reality. While they had crossed a definite line during the ritual, every night since had been a slow, chaste passing.
Both of them, choosing to get to know one another before anything else—maybe even become friends. Gwen was still so fragile and Primo wasn’t about to be the one to break her. He knew that it was meant to be and that if he was right, eventually, she would come around. Her wounded heart only needed the time to heal before they might be something more. He had, however, begun to grow impatient.
Primo tried his best to push away the thoughts, but more often than not he found himself needing to release. To relieve his built-up sexual tension with his own hand. The thoughts of Gwen constantly on his mind. The way she felt as he slipped his fingers inside her. The sound of her moaning in his ear. He wanted desperately to know what she’d feel like while he pounded into her. Feeling her all around him as he spilled himself inside her—so that he might give her the child he knew she so badly wanted.
Even though it had been weeks since their night together, Gwen hadn’t made any hint of wanting anything more than Primo's companionship. They were becoming closer, at least that's what he told himself. He had even begun to teach her about conjugation and spell casting. Choosing to focus on simple things like inanimatum manifestationem and charm spells. Gwen, however, was most interested in communing with the spirit realm.
It was in the quiet times between them that Gwen shared with him too. Not about anything so magical as Primo, but about her life leading up to the arrival at the Abbey. A little more revealed of herself as each moment came. The most recent story being that of the day she lost her child. It was then that Primo had felt the full weight of it.
As the words left her, he could feel the constant ache that afflicted her. The wound of the soul that Gwen thought might never heal. She had also told him about her failings in love. Lamenting that things had always been very one sided, though it took her some time to realize it.
The subject of love had come up again whilst Gwen and Primo worked to prepare the chapel for the evening's Black Mass. Gathering up the spent incense and emptying the vases of the old dried out arrangements. Primo followed Gwen back into the sacristy determined to have her see that things would get better. “You know they were wrong to overlook you cara mia.” Primo said as he placed his hand over hers.
“If you say so Papa…maybe…” she sighed, still clutching the dead, dried flowers, “I feel as though I am nothing. Like these dead plants. Just a shell of what I once was.”
“No...”
“I’m sorry?” Gwen asked as she went to toss the bouquets into the trash. Primo gently grabbed her wrist before she could release them. Both of them, locking eyes as Primo began to speak.
“The life in these flowers is gone, but they can still be a part of something beautiful.” Primo explained.
“You’re kidding, right?” she asked him, looking more than a bit confused. Primo’s face was now more serious than ever. A look that made Gwen swallow back a bit as he took the flowers from her. Pulling the dried buds from their stem and placing them gently in a small basket in the center of the table.
“They can be an offering—or even made into potpourri…they are not the same as they once were, that is true, but these blossoms can still be something beautiful.”
“I see.” she replied knowing that he was most certainly alluding to her. Primo was in love with her and Gwen very much felt it. It was getting harder for her too to deny the feelings she had for him. Worried that she’d regret acting on them. And she already had too many regrets to speak of.
A moment however had reached them. Gwen could sense it—something about the way he looked at her. The sweet charm of his romantic, but cliche, speech and the soft smile on his face that made her guard fall. Primo must have sensed it too because he reached down to take Gwen’s face in his hand. Slowly bending down to kiss her fully on her lips.
She didn’t pull back, instead leaning into him. The taste of his mouth like the sweet nectar of fruit. The gentle touch of silk that was his lips. This was the first kiss she had truly wanted. Not some pity and haze-induced endeavor, fueled by outside forces. No—this was only them.
Gwen brought her arms around Primo’s neck, kissing him harder. Tears streamed down her face as they continued. Primo, taking the leap of faith as he brought his tongue into her mouth. Slow and sensual, not the lustful and rushed way he had before. They melted into one another.
When Gwen finally, and reluctantly, did pull back she smiled. Both of them, a bit breathless and flushed. This was all she could do for now and there were responsibilities she had to tend to. Primo seemed to understand, even without her saying it. Helping her adjust her veil before fixing his own cassock. Hoping that the swell in his pants was hidden well enough to not ruin the sweet moment between them.
“I must be going Papa…thank you for…um…everything.” Gwen smiled more.
“Of course, amore." He told her. Gwen turned to leave and Primo knew he couldn't just leave it at that, "...would you? Would you sit beside me in the pews tonight? I would very much appreciate your company.” Primo asked, watching with joy as Gwen nodded. Progress—Primo was thrilled. Watching with hopefulness in his heart as Gwen took her leave from the sacristy.
Hours had passed since their kiss and Primo still couldn’t get it off his mind. The whole night spent in blissful merriment, especially with her seated next to him in the pews. He had managed to hold her hand throughout the sermon. Gently gliding his thumb over the top as Terzo went off on one of his rants about pridefulness.
The two of them, glancing at one another endlessly. Looking as if they wished to sneak off together. Gwen had even allowed Primo to walk her back to her dorm. The two of them, finding Fiona waiting up for her friend—along with a whole row of little eavesdroppers. All spilling of their rooms from their doorways as Papa left her there. Another gentle kiss on the lips before the door closed and Primo would return to his chambers.
When midnight struck, he was still tossing and turning in his bed. Thinking about Gwen's sweet face. Primo was finally beginning to drift when he startled. The phone, ringing loudly and echoing in the vast openness of the room. Primo rushed out from his sheets towards the old rotary that sat near his favorite armchair. Lifting up the receiver and bringing it to his ear.
"What could you possibly want at this hour?" He chided, unsure of exactly who was on the other line. Thankfully it was Secondo and the revelation allowed Primo renewed justification in his ire.
"Oh, calmati, vecchio sciocco." Secondo scoffed, practically able to see the way Primo's face contorted on the other end.
"What do you want fratellino?" Primo asked him, clearing his throat and trying to keep his patience.
"The prodigal son returns tonight. Thought we may indulge in a game or two. Stay up until his return…that is if you can manage it?"
"Pfft…I'll be down soon." Primo replied, already knowing exactly where to go.
Primo made his way down from his chambers to the main hall. Feeling the wear of the day and his lack of sleep upon him as he found this path in the dark. When he reached his destination he was met with Terzo, Secondo, and Saltarian staring him down. The three of them, sitting in the clergy break room as Primo stood in the doorway, all awaiting Copia return.
The hours were now steadily creeping into the early morning and the normal show of fanfare would be held off until morning broke. Just the way Copia liked it. The fourth Papa, preferring to get adjusted to being home before all the “hullabaloo” commenced.
“Were the fuck have you been? We’ve been waiting for over an hour.” Secondo scoffed.
“It's late fratello. Give…what did you call me before? An OLD man a moment…I am here now. Deal me in.” Primo responded. Their youngest brother’s arrival seemed the perfect excuse to play cards and, for Primo’s brothers, an opportunity to grill him. Now along with Saltarian’s help they could find out just what his intentions were with his mysterious and melancholic sister.
“And what shall we play…Uno?” Mr. Saltarian laughed, trying to inject some humor back into the conversation. Running his fingers over the packs of cards that lined the cabinet until he found the Uno cards.
“I will only play that if Primo will agree to answer my questions…since he cheats.” Secondo replied. Primo nodded to Saltarian to grab them, his friend handing them over to Secondo who began to shuffle. Secondo reluctantly began tossing them out across the round table, the rest of the men collecting their hands before Secondo placed the first card down in the center.
“Sono offeso.” Primo scoffed, “I do not cheat…you are just a sore loser.”
“Ok then…go ahead and pretend that you do not, in fact, enchant the cards stronzo and that it is pure coincidence that you always win when we play this damn game.” he sniped. Both Mr. Saltarian and Terzo rolling their eyes at them when Primo finally took his seat.
“What is it you want to know so badly then?” Primo asked him. Terzo adjusted himself in the chair, popping the cork out from his wine bottle and taking a swig—not even bothering to gather himself a glass. Preferring to drink straight from the bottle on game nights such as this.
“Yeah Sec..what's got your panties all in a bunch?” he smirked. The table got quiet for a moment, all of them looking up from their cards at Secondo who was staring daggers at Primo.
“Sister Guinevere…”
“Ah si, il mio fiore delicato. What about her?” Primo responded.
“You two seem to be getting very close as of late…well that is, if some of the rumors floating amongst the siblings and ghouls are to be believed. What they’ve told me...” Secondo hummed, taking the first turn and setting down his red number 2 card to start.
“Just what have they reported back fratellino? Are you having them spy on me now?” Primo chuckled. Smirking as he forced Secondo to draw 4. Delighting in the grimace on Secondo's face as he added the cards to his hand.
“No…it’s just I worry. You’ve already bound yourself to her and she's a bit of a wild card.”
“Speaking of.” Terzo laughed as he placed his wild card down on top. “I mean Primo, she did only just a few weeks ago try to…” Terzo chose to continue before Saltarian tapped his arm. “We don’t want to see you hurt either.”
“I can make her happy and I will.” Primo smiled, Saltarian smiling back at him. The two of them, having an unspoken understanding. He too had been watching them. Seeing Gwen open up to Primo as days passed. Primo’s plan to win her heart was simple to him as the planting of seeds and Saltarian could see that things were already beginning to blossom between them.
“Oh, and just how are you planning on doing that?” Secondo asked his tone snide and smug, as always as he laid down his next card.
“I’m going to give her what she wants.” he explained, shuffling his deck for his next card. Both Secondo and Terzo, waiting for him to continue.
“...and that is what exactly?” Secondo groaned, frustrated with Primo’s drawn out exposition.
“Vita eterna.” he smiled, placing down his card on the stack.
“What? You can't be serious…” Secondo inquired; certain he knew what Primo was getting at.
“I’m going to give her a child. My child.” Primo responded, Terzo immediately began choking on his wine as Secondo sat back stunned in his chair. Both brothers, dead silent and completely taken back by his intentions.
"You have got to be fucking kidding me? Knocking her up is not the ans—" Secondo hissed before Primo rushed at him. The two of them, ready to brawl. Thankfully Saltarian was surprisingly quicker. Holding both men back from doing anything stupid in the heat of the moment.
"Am…I…ah interrupting something?" Copia said, dropping down his bags as he entered the break room.
"Copia! Fratellino!" Terzo called out as he went to stand beside him. "Glad you came when you did. Otherwise, you might have 2 less fratelli." He explained, covering his mouth so Secondo and Primo might not hear him.
"Seems there's a disagreement about a relationship between Papa and his new Sister of sin." Saltarian explained. Copia went to give Saltarian a fist bump, for which he was not amused. Copia immediately withdrew his hand, a bit embarrassed but continued on. Looking straight at Secondo before he continued, clearly assuming he was the offending Papa.
"So…ah…Secondo…who is the lucky girl?" Copia asked with a smile, taking the empty seat at the table.
"It's me Copia…not Secondo." Primo explained as the rest of the men all sat back down. Secondo grumbling under his breath.
"You? Now that's a surprise." Copia laughed nervously, scratching the back of his salt and peppered head.
"Oh just you wait." Terzo chuckled, giving him a slap to the back. Copia's face turned paler than usual.
He asked. Primo let out a sigh, surely Copia would be more supportive.
"I'm going to have a child with her." He said plainly. His voice, soft but firm. Copia swallowed back, already life back at the Abbey was becoming more interesting.
"Lei è incinta?" Copia asked him.
"No…no…but hopefully soon." Primo responded.
"I think it's a wonderful idea. Good for you wanting to be a Papa…well…heh...a father. I can't wait to be a zio."  Copia laughed nervously. Secondo huffing before resigning himself to silence at the table.
"Me too." Terzo chimed in, "I want you to be happy Primo. Obviously, you better get on it soon Lucifer knows you aren't getting any younger."
"Thank you." Primo smiled, clearly however annoyed at Terzo jab. Saltarian lifted up his wine glass to toast Primo.
"Possiate entrambi essere fecondi e moltiplicarvi." Saltarian said.
"Cin cin" said Terzo, lifting up his wine bottle. Secondo waving them on.
"Si…well since Copia is home, I say we make a new start." Secondo explained, the faintest of thinly pressed smiles on his lips. Primo placed his hand on Copia's shoulder and looked Secondo in the eye.
"Sounds good to me."

HERE IS THE NEXT CHAPTER OF POTPOURRI!
Things are happening lol

Chapter 5: The Night of Ritual
Also available HERE on A03! Haven't started? Start from the beginning HERE!
Definitely NSFW below the cut!
The meeting with Sister Imperator went about as well as expected. The battle-ax of a woman, wasting no time in rubbing in the decision to keep Copia on the road. All of them, knowing it was only to spite Primo—like salt into the proverbial wound. Primo, Secondo, and Terzo were all doing their best to bite their tongues. Holding in their true feelings on the matter. If it weren't for Nihil’s insistence on keeping her around, and the looming threat of his spirit haunting them for eternity, they’d have found a way to rid the Abbey of her long ago.
Another couple of days had gone by without anything of note. Only the planning and preparation for the ritual that would make the new arrivals officially siblings of sin. Primo and his ghouls, in charge of gathering of spiritual herbs, talismans, and tomes that would aid them in bringing the new siblings to their rightful place. All take and the other clergymen's’ tasks completed, along with the plans for the following night's grand dinner were complete. Nothing was left but to await the day of their ascension, and now finally arrived.
All the Abbey was stirred up with excitement—all except Gwen. She had only the day before returned to the general population of the Abbey. No longer staying in Primo’s rooms, despite his insistence. She was allowed back into her dorm with Fiona, leaving the comforts of Primo’s bed behind her, for which the Papa was less than pleased. Allowing her to go however without fuss.
He would die before making her a prisoner of his quarters, when she already felt prisoner to this world. Gwen continued her studies, along with the other seminarians and novitiate, and was just as ready to accept her vows as the rest of them. Her heart however still barely stitched together and easily bled. Any time she came across a sister who was with child or happened past the Abbey nursery, she felt a piece of herself dying.
What could she do? Her life now was Primo’s—and his hers. There would be no ending things, lest she be responsible for his death as well. So, she pushed on, in a somewhat robotic state. Going through the motions of her life, but without truly living it.
At the night’s ceremonies she would take her vows like a good novitiate, while inside she cursed both God and the Devil for conspiring against her. Her anger, still very much burning and bubbling inside. Her heart, however, had softened towards Primo. The more she tried, the more Gwen found it hard to stay mad at him.
The softness in his mismatched eyes whenever he looked at her. Or even the way his smile made her want to mirror it with her own. Primo’s presence was like a bit of a warmth that managed to break through the cold she felt inside. A feeling towards him she had trouble defining—but it was there.
The two of them had talked, though not about what had happened or about Gwen’s life before. Mostly their conversations light, with talk of the upcoming rites and about other small talk sorts of things. Both of them always knew that there were many things left unsaid between them. Today would change things.
Gwen was sitting by herself in the cloister, watching the other siblings, ghouls, and clergy going about their day. Tonight’s ritual would make things official and there was nothing, but smiles worn on the faces of all those that passed her. She happened to catch a glimpse of some ghoul tomfoolery, as they hung from the balcony attached to the Great Hall. The pack, giving each other some good-natured teasing and taunting as one of them was stuck in the rails. It was when she felt herself begin to laugh that she felt him sit down beside her. Instantly the feeling of warmth began to fill her cheeks before she chose to speak.
“Good Morning Papa.” Gwen said, her eyes never leaving the ghouls. Primo smiled too when he saw them. Always having a special affinity for them and finding their customs quite amusing. However, his gaze quickly returned to Gwen. She looked so beautiful in her robes, her hair flowing gently in the breeze as it blew past them. Primo took in a deep breath through his distinguished Romanesque nose. Inhaling the scent of her lavender shampoo that had drifted his way.
“Buongiorno Guinevere.” Primo said back, taking a sip from the mug of tea that he’d brought along with him. It was a gift from the ghoul nits, who at times considered him to be a grandfather figure to them. Its handmade handle and misshapen walls gave a way its amateur , but loving origins. Gwen couldn’t help but smile at it.
“I’m sorry?”
“That smile of yours.” Primo clarified. Gwen struggled not to roll her eyes at him but was unable to stop her eyebrows from raising in disbelief.
“Well don’t get used to it.” she smirked. Now this was the woman Primo had felt all along. The one hidden beneath the ash that resided inside her before the pain. He would do anything to bring this woman back for good.
“We shall see cara. What are you doing out here by yourself? The initiations are tonight, I thought someone like you would be preparing to make sure all went smoothly or celebrating with the others. Have you chosen your sin?” Primo asked her.
“I have…or more like you have.” she explained. Primo was confused, he couldn’t recall doing anything of the sort and from the look on Gwen’s face it was not a positive connotation.
“Oh?” he asked, afraid of what he might hear.
“You told me I was selfish…so greed is my sin.” she explained. The memory of his words piercing the flesh as she spoke them.
“Oh cara…I didn’t mean—”
“No…it's ok. Maybe you’re right…I am selfish.”
“I’m sorry.” he apologized, wishing that he had never said that to her.
“Well, I had to choose a sin and well…it's just as fitting as any other. Also, I hear you will be doing the post-ritual sin fulfillment ceremonies and I was told Greed would be one you were in charge of.”
“Si.”
“Did Papa Terzo beat you at taking lust?” Gwen grinned, “I assume that's the coveted position.” she finished with a laugh. A laugh that sent Primo’s heart aflutter.
“That is always Terzo’s position…for obvious reasons. There is only one person for me thank you.” Primo said without even thinking. Both him and Gwen, falling silent, only the chirping of the birds, and the hum of the Abbey around them, making a sound.
“I see. Well, I must be going as you said.” Gwen commented as she stood up from the bench and turned to face him. “I shall see you tonight Papa?”
“Primo—please.” he insisted.
“Primo.”
“Of course, see you then.”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“It is with great honor that we commit our lives to sin. That we free ourselves from the confines of good and evil. Becoming one with all things and acknowledging that the world is but shades of gray.” Primo preached over the congregation. The chapel pews filled to the brim with people, all of whom hung on every word that fell from his lips. The ancient scrolls laid out before him on the stone altar. A chalice of blood, centuries old and a dagger, whose blade glinted in the light of the candles, laid on opposing sides.
“No longer shall you deny your true selves in service to a God that gives only pain and suffering to those who love him most.” Primo called out, Removing the glove from his left hand and slicing open his palm. Spilling himself into the chalice as he continued on with his sermon. Opening the minds, hearts, and souls of the would-be siblings before they took their oaths and accepted Lucifer.
“Nema!” he called out once more. The whole Abbey, returning it back to him. With more fervor and passion than he’d ever heard before. Truly this group of siblings would be a fine addition to their ranks.
Finally, it was time for the main event. The sibling pledges lining up in the nave. Their eyes fixed forward on Primo awaiting them at the altar. They were dressed in all white robes. Like sacrificial lambs for the slaughter. Ready to be purged of their old lives and begin anew.
From this moment forward they would be forever blessed by sin. Their souls pledged in service to his most unholy. Each of them stood proud in their place in line, waiting eagerly to receive their cursed blessing. A mark—bore on their heads and drawn deliberately with Primo's blood.
One by one, Primo and the siblings recited the rites of passage and drew the sigil upon their foreheads. His eyes, always searching for Gwen in the crowd. After several siblings had passed through, he had begun to worry. Thankfully spotting her only moments later towards the back of the line.
Her face was sullen and pale—a far cry from the beaming smiles and nervous excitement that poured from her peers. Primo could tell that she was trying her best to be positive, but her pain was still ever present. Like a ghost that haunted her home. When finally, it was her turn at the altar, Primo stood up tall and cleared his throat. Anxiously waiting as the sibling before her stepped aside and returned to their place within the pews. “Guinevere, do you commit your life to sin. Shun the God that denies you and open yourself to all things in Lucifer's name?” Primo asked her, dipping his forefinger into the blood.
“I do.” Gwen answered.
“Do you swear to always be in service of HIM and to respect and honor the tenets of our order?” Primo asked, now drawing the sigil of Lucifer upon Gwen's forehead. She closed her eyes and felt the warmth of her tears flowing over her cheeks.
“I do.” she answered, the hint of her wavering resolve present in her voice. Primo had up until this point, with every sibling before her, taken their hands and recited the final words before allowing them to return to the pews. With Gwen however he took her face in his palms, cupping her soft cheeks as he wiped the tears and finished the rites.
“As above, so shall it be below.” Primo said softly, the whole Abbey taking note of the change in his procedure. Instantly the whispering spread among the crowd. All of them, gossiping and speculating as to why this had occurred. He leaned in to kiss the top of Gwen’s head. She was surprised that instead of pulling back, she leaned into it.
“Primo?” she as his lips left her head.
“I’m proud of you amore.” he told her. The tears then came flooding out of her with full abandon. Her cheeks flushed with his words and the feel of his kiss upon her head sending her over with emotion. She was overwhelmed and more than a little confused. She said nothing back, but only nodded as she quickly left for her seat. Pretending not to hear the comments that came colliding in from all around her.
“It is with great pleasure that I announce that all those who have pledged themselves in Satan’s name this day have been reborn in sin. To all those who have taken your vows to his church and of the unholiest of orders, we welcome you home. Siblings of Sin!”
The whole chapel cheered. A roar, thunderous and proud, as the siblings were now equal in the eyes of Lucifer. Gwen smiled sheepishly at Primo as he and the other clergymen dismissed the chapel. Before she knew it they were all standing up and rushing out the door.
All of them anxious to get to the festivities of sin that await them as the final celebration of their vows. If it were up to her this would be the end of it. Returning to the solitude of her room and leaving the crowd behind. She felt Finn pulling her arm, her eyes turning reluctantly towards her.
“Gwen! Aren’t you excited?! We are Sisters!” Finn all but exploded with excitement. Gwen smiled back at her and nodded. “...uh…Gwenie, I'm so excited I could burst! This is going to be so amazing. Also, I am gonna need the full story on what is going on between you and Papa.”
“Here’s noth—” Gwen began when Fiona’s anxious energy got the best of her.
“Tell me later I gotta get ready for my date with Papa Terzo.” she giggled.
“It’s hardly a date, Finn.” Gwen reminded her, though the activity for which they’d be partaking in could certainly make one believe it was such. But an orgy in the name of Satan wasn't exactly something Gwen would consider date night material.
“See you tomorrow!” Fiona winked as she disappeared with an equally horny group of siblings, heading down the hall to the Asmodeus wing of the Abbey–where all exploration of Lust in his name took place.
All the siblings, ghouls, and clergy took off to their posts. Each new sibling, ready to commit fully to their chosen sin. The lustful, like Fiona, and prideful ones went on to Terzo. Ready to perform all manner of debauchery and selfish exploration.
Envy and Wrath were overseen by Secondo. Each of the new siblings, reborn with their spilling of vile confessions of jealousy. While others indulged in consensual acts of violence. The gluttonous ones went to Nihil who, despite his ectoplasmic materialization, was all too happy to partake with them in feasting. Imbibing with the young noviates, turned full sisters, being his favorite since he was banned from Terzo’s group.
Finally, was the group that was left to Primo. Those who chose Sloth and Greed. All of them, lounging about in the sanctuary as they breathed in a hypnotic blend of herbs and ash. Their essence, packed into incense whose smoke filled their lungs and their brains with imagery and vivid dreams. The others, illusions of their deepest desires and wants.
Gwen was there, sitting in the back of the room as she watched everyone around her fall victim to their sin. Each with a smile splashed across their faces. Primo had taken a special tonic to be immune to the incense effects. Watching over the flock as they reveled in their desires. Their minds, open to all the possibilities and riches the world had to offer.
Primo kept careful watch on Gwen. She was resistant at first, one of the last siblings to give way into her “dreams”. Primo waited with bated breath as she slipped deeper into the dream. All the while, he was positive that he knew what would happen—and he was right.
As soon as Gwen closed her eyes, the flashes of light hit her so fast from all sides she almost felt sick. There was nothing but brightness and the feeling of warmth when she heard it. Cries. The smallest of sounds coming from behind her.
She turned around to see a child there in a bassinet. The same small woven bed she had remembered buying for her own. Her hand on her belly and smile on her face as she left the quaint children’s shop along the market street. A memory she'd buried deep down inside.
She bent down and picked the child up in her arms. The little one’s crying stopped, replaced by sleepy cooing, like a lullaby to Gwen’s ears. Patting the infant's back as she found herself humming to soothe them. Back in reality, however, she had begun to cry.
Primo noticed instantly, going towards her. Wishing that he had been wrong. Just as he reached her, Gwen collapsed on the ground. Crying as she brought herself back from the trance. Primo and her were now the only ones not under the spell.
“Amore…I am so sorry.” Primo cried too as he held Gwen in his arms. Her tears fell uncontrollably. Wishing so badly to return to the dream, even though she knew it wasn’t real.
“I wanted that baby Primo. I wanted them so much. I already loved them.” she cried harder and harder. Primo squeezed her tightly against his chest. Wishing that he'd never have to let go.
“I know.” he told her. Just then her eyes opened to him, seeing his compassionate face looking back at her. The love shining in his eyes as he held her against him. Gwen could feel the need for him rising inside her and before she knew it he had kissed her.
Primo's lips, feeling so tender against hers before he pulled away.  Gwen stared at him once more, Primo able to see the hint of the feelings that came creeping up inside of her. He ran his fingers through her hair as they came close again.
The feeling of each other’s breathing, ticking the skin as their mouths hovered ever closer. Primo couldn’t stop himself, drawing her towards him as her quivering lips brushed against his own. He wasted no time, taking her mouth onto his. His tongue, gliding gently inside as she held onto his shoulders.
He wanted her and she wanted him. Primo lifted her up, carrying her to the sofa that sat near them in the back of the room. Still shrouded in darkness he sat down, Gwen straddling his lap as Primo ran his hands over the curves of her body. She felt even more wonderful than he had ever imagined.
The heat of her core, radiating against his lap. Primo quickly swelling with need. Gwen moaned into their kiss. Her Papa, unable to help himself from raising his hips against her. Hoping to share friction between them.
“Gwen…amore…I want you so badly.” Primo confessed. Gwen was unable to respond, losing herself in the feeling of his hand climbing up between her thighs. Primo’s long fingers, breaching the line of her panties beneath that innocent white gown. Her entrance, already dripping with anticipation of his touch as he sank two fingers gently inside her.
“Ah!” she cried out as Primo tore off her panties with the other hand. Only the remnants of the band left to speak of.
“I will give you all that you desire. Make you mine.” Primo vowed, gently taking in Gwen’s lower lip as she found herself grinding along with the motions of his lustful hands.
“Yes…Primo…make me feel something.” Gwen whispered as his lips trailed along the line of her neck. Leaving purple marks of intention in his wake. He slid his fingers out from inside her a moment to encircle her clit. Gwen’s head, falling back in pleasure as he rubbed her gently.
“Cum for me, mio fiore.” Primo commanded. Swirling over Gwen’s swollen bud as she trembled in his arms. Primo’s cock, pulsing beneath her as he felt her cum hard against his fingers.
“Ah fuck!” she cried out once more, feeling the rush of her orgasm ripping through her. Primo wasn’t satisfied. Lifting her up from his lap, placing her back on the sofa. Discarding his chasuble like tissue before undoing his belt.
Gwen writhed on the sofa below him. Still coming down from the heights of her orgasm when she felt Primo’s cock nudging her entrance. “I want to give you everything you always wanted Guinevere, if you’ll only let me.” Primo hummed against the small of her neck. The impact of his words hitting her full force.
Gwen quickly sat up and pushed Primo off her. Her eyes once more welling up with tears. “Please—Primo—I’m sorry—I just can't.” she told him as she fixed her dress and ran out from the room. Leaving Primo behind on the sofa, his heart heavy in his chest.

The feel of the pillow, pressed gently against her cheek, was the most welcomed feeling she’d had in a long time. Tears were steadily rolling over her cheeks as Gwen curled up on the bed. Her mascara, staining the white cotton—a beautiful and melancholic pattern that spoke the pain inside her soul. It was over.
She was left empty. The attempt at mending her wounded soul, had left her just as barren and barely stitched together as she was before. Would there be no mercy? No return for things lost.
Gwen sobbed, holding tight to that damn pillow, as if it held what was left of hope within its threads. Her child was truly gone forever to the infinite nothing. Gone without her ever having known them. She clenched her teeth, the tears coming faster and faster.
She felt lied to. Was she really asking for too much? What had she done to deserve such an egregious thing? God was long dead, and now her hope for Lucifer’s blessings fell short of its promises. Promises she had already known, somewhere deep down, were too good to be true.
Her heart felt as if it may burst in her chest. The ache that comes from a loss that cannot be described in words—only feelings. A true bittersweet feeling of having something so precious and losing it before it could be held. She knew now she was never going to have what she wanted and there was absolutely nothing she could do.
The Abbey had felt more alive than it had in years. The halls were spry with excitement and more than the usual buzzing, in the weeks after the group's arrival. The vigor and eagerness the novitiate and seminarians brought with them, had revitalized even Secondo’s cold and standoffish demeanor. The Abbey, and its inhabitants, had already incorporated them all seamlessly into daily life. It was as if they had been there all along.
It had lived up to its promise for most, giving them a life that could be lived deliciously. Truly a place where even the blackest of sheep would be welcomed into the flock. Things were going so well for everyone and in a few short days, each and every fledgling would take their ceremonial "fall from heaven" and land in the bosom of Satan. All of them, taking their vows and performing their rituals to become wholly siblings of sin.
It would be a time to remember. It was said, rumors spreading like wildfire through the Abbey, that Papa Copia would be returning for a few days to help with the officiation of their siblinghood. All of them beaming with excitement and nerves as they waited for any sign he had returned. First however would be confession, a moment for them to unburden their souls before entering their new lives.
As with any confession, no one would “know” who was on either end of the partition. The Papas, all taking turns throughout the day to listen to them. In and out the siblings went. Some were crying, however wearing a smile spread across their faces, as they left the booth. Feeling the heavy weight of the life lead before, fading away as they began anew.
Other’s smiled both in and out. Though some were in carnal satisfaction—considered to be well spent time in confession. The offending Papa, looking just as stupid-faced and dewy cheeked with pleasure, with their shared sin. Sister Imperator was amazed with both Secondo and Terzo’s appetites, that anything was getting done.
When it came for Primo’s to take his turn, he was humbled. Ever grateful for his position within the church, he adjusted his chasuble before entering. The first Emeritus son, taking pride in his robes more than any other Papa before or after him. His connection with the realm beyond, and his appreciation for the old ways, giving him a closer tie than anyone to the Unholy Father.
He lowered himself down onto the chair, running his hands over the fabric to flatten the wrinkles and taking a deep breath in. The scent of incense and sweat, hitting him full force has he inhaled. Primo scoffed, muttering to himself in Italian at his annoyance with his brothers. “They could at least wipe things down and spray something.” Primo said as he heard the booth door open.
“Papa?” A voice came from the other side of the screen, Primo knew instantly who it was. It had been weeks since the dinner, his answer to Gwen’s questions leading her back to her dorm in devastation. Primo had avoided being too close to her since. Worried that talking with him, even in passing, may reignite her sadness. But it seemed it didn’t matter.
From that day on she had continued as usual. Returning to the refectory the next morning as if nothing had happened. He watched her, grabbing her food and sitting among the others. Selling the facade of being alright and like nothing had changed. Her performance so well, he was sure that she'd fooled all the others. Primo could tell though, her aura, still pale and just barely noticeable giving her away.
Ever since he saw her that first day, he was captivated by her. Primo, longing still to get to know her—even if just to listen to her speak. To hear what she thought of everything. Though things had not gone well so far, he couldn’t stop himself from thinking about her. Desiring to be close to her, even after learning about her past.
“Please, my child. Unburden yourself.” Primo said softly. Gwen sat down on the small stool within the booth, hands trembling and her heart beating fast inside her chest.
“Papa, I have something I wish to…” Gwen sighed, clearly struggling to find her next words. Primo couldn’t help but smile. Her voice was still ever so sweet and kind. Though he could hear beneath it, the hints of sadness. Like the gentle trickling of piano keys or the glide of a violin’s bow–played in melodic minor.
He was invested in whatever it was she would confess. Ready to be there to help her through it all, imagining himself by her side. He felt surprised, as the thoughts washed over him. It had been so long since he’d heard her sweet voice. He knew in that moment that he had already begun to develop feelings for her. His heart, fluttering as she began to speak once more.
“I want to apologize for wasting the Ministry's time.” she confessed, Primo, sitting up straight in his chair at her words. Confused and worried at their implication.
“I’m sorry?”
“No…I’m sorry…you see I came here under false pretenses.” she confessed. Primo was ready to go to her. To meet her on the other side of the booth. Taking her in his arms and telling her that everything would be ok. He could hear her struggling to hold back tears. Her voice, cracking a bit between words as she continued on.
“Please child go on.” he said, battling his instinct to retrieve her.
“I didn’t come here because I wanted to worship Lucifer or so that I might live a life true to my nature in sin. I came because I wanted something. Something that I now know I will never get, and I fear I have wasted all of your time and for that I apologize. I will be leaving soon, before the rituals and I wanted someone to know. I wasn’t sure how to go about it any other way.” she explained sniffling back as Primo took his turn to speak.
“You can still find happiness here.” he told her, listening to her laugh—one Primo was sure was accompanied by tears.
“N othing here is worth staying for.”
“Nothing? What about you…aren't you worth it?”
“No.” Gwen replied, the tears escaping her eyes and flowing freely.
“Remember dolce, he fell so that we might be burned in the rivers of eternal flame. So that we all might know the truth of ourselves, unabashed by the will of God. So that we can all be happy…even you.” Primo explained, hoping in vain that his words would change her mind. Worried that she’d follow through and leave—only after he was beginning to understand his feelings for her. His cosmic draw to forever by her side.
“I appreciate that, but I will be taking my leave. Please forgive me Papa…Nema.” Gwen finished, standing up and exiting the booth. Primo moved faster than he had in years, flinging open the door and revealing himself to her. Their eyes, locked together outside the confession booth.
“Papa Primo?” she asked, wiping quickly at her eyes to hide the tears that had fallen.
“Si…I need to confess something to you as well.” he told her. Gwen stared at him, waiting to hear what he had to say. Allowing him to speak his peace before she left, knowing she intended to never return.
“I’m sorry—”
“Guinevere…I know.”
“Know what Papa?” Gwen asked him. She waited, hoping her gut instinct was wrong. That he didn't know what was eating away at her inside. When Primo’s own eyes began to fill with tears, it only served to confirm he knew before speaking the words.
“I know about the baby.” he admitted, watching the color drain from Gwen’s face. He could tell she was fighting hard not to cry again. Resisting the overwhelming desire to fall apart before him. Frightened with the need to be held by him—a man she barely knew.
“I need to go now.” was all Gwen could say, turning away from Primo and starting down the nave. Primo reached out quickly, grabbing her wrist and pulling her to face him. Both of them for a moment wondering if they’d share a kiss. A kiss that didn’t come, only more tears to shed between them.
“The cost of these small desires is great, and I know you've paid a heavy price. I am sorry that I didn’t know before we spoke at your arrival dinner. My answer and my brother's comments may have been less harsh had we known.
“It’s not your fault Papa. Now if you will excuse me, I need to go.” Gwen said, pulling back hard from Primo’s grasp and briskly taking off. He watched her disappear from the chapel as he slumped against the door of the booth. His heart, heavy and his mind fixed on his affections for her.
The rest of the day was quiet. Primo spent the rest of afternoon in confession, though his mind stayed on Guinevere. By the time supper rolled around, he was ravenous for the evening's bounty. The stress increasing his hunger as he listened to the sounds of his stomach growling.
As Primo took his seat at the front of the refectory, he felt more at ease.  Everyone was eating peacefully, all gathered together as they did every night. The hum of shared community and conversation, floating in the air. Primo, who was normally an active participant in the debates and pleasantries at mealtimes, chose now to say quiet in his chair. His lack of quick-witted commentary and polite suggestions did not go unnoticed.
“What's got you all glum?” Terzo asked, his voice breaking through Primo's inner thoughts. He looked up from his plate, setting down his fork and dapping the corners of his mouth with his napkin before speaking.
“Non è niente, per favore non me ne vogliate.” he replied. Mr. Saltarian now watching his reaction to the question. Noticing the minor changes in his behavior—something was indeed bothering him. Sister Imperator interrupted. A trait Primo found most distasteful, but so very much a common occurrence for her.
“Papa, I did notice you’ve been a bit distracted tonight. Worried about the rituals tomorrow?” she laughed teasing him. Primo gave an insincere smile back. She was contemptible in her disregard to the Papacy. Choosing to act as if she were on their level. Primo, allowing it only to keep the peace between her and Papa Nihil. His father, who now was nothing more than spirit of unrest that resided in Imperator's wing of the Abbey.
“Of course, not Sister.” he replied, feeling the hand resting on his shoulder. Primo gave a glance back to see Saltarian taking a seat beside him. “I am just ready for Copia to be home, I have missed him so much these last few weeks.”
“Oh, then the rumors are true?” delighted a sibling from another table, the whole room taking notice. Primo smiled at Sister Imperator, watching her face fill with subtle irritation. It was to be her announcement at dinner. Two can play at this game , he thought to himself, stealing the moment from her.
“Well now that the cat is out of the bag…” Sister Imperator said, addressing the siblings and the others. Allowing Primo and Saltarian a moment to speak.
“So, tell me know amico…what has actually got you in so deep in your own head?” he asked. Primo adjusted in his chair, collecting his thoughts before answering him. He wasn’t sure if he should tell him about the interaction at all, let alone his feelings for Gwen. It was only today that Primo had truly began to understand them.
“Honestly Salare…it's Guinevere.” Of course, it was and Saltarian already knew. Still however he wanted to hear it from Primo’s own mouth. Primo chewed on his bottom lip a bit more before continuing. “I spoke with her at confession today.”
“I see and I assume she told you the truth during it?” Mr. Saltarian asked him.
“Actually, she told me that she made a mistake coming here…” Primo explained before Saltarian interrupted him.
“What do you mean?”
“She said she wasn’t worth it and nothing else here was either. That she was sorry she wasted our time. There is something else…” Primo mentioned, taking in a deep breath as he prepared to confess his feelings to his best friend when suddenly Saltarian stood up from the table, catching the eyes of all three Emeritus brothers and some of the Papal ghouls.
“She said those words?!” Saltarian asked, commanding an answer. Extremely bold for him, as Primo was Papa, but the implications of his disregard for position sent an icy chill down Primo’s spine. He shot up out his chair too, now realizing that Gwen was nowhere in the refectory. Suddenly it all made sense. She was not just planning on leaving the Abbey.
“Sweet Lucifer!” Primo said as he and Saltarian left the table—Secondo, Terzo, and a few ghouls trailing quickly behind them. Only Primo and Saltarian knew what was going on, making their way as fast as they could to the pledge dormitory
When they reached the dorms, Secondo and Terzo got a feeling they knew what might be happening. There was a moment, during their race to the sibling wing, when the shaky conversation between Primo and Saltarian tipped them off. Though they knew not the details, they knew that a sibling was missing from dinner and with the look on their brother and Mr. Saltarian’s face, they had a pretty good idea as to the reason why.
It wasn’t the first time a tragedy had taken place at the Abbey. This time it felt personal, the two of them watching as Primo’s face filled with pain and panic. There was more to this story than anyone was letting on.  When they arrived at the dorm, they let themselves inside. There was no one there, just a pair of empty beds to greet them. Then suddenly one of the ghouls took a deep inhale, his nose twitching away as he spoke.
“Is that…blood?” he asked, Primo’s pupils widening as he was now able to smell it himself. The scent emanating from behind the closed door of the bathroom.
“Oh cazzo, no!” he yelled, breaking down the door with the help of the ghouls. The broken wood, quickly, revealing Gwen laying in a bathtub tinted red with blood. Her wrists were slit, down the center of her forearms. Her face, stained with tears.
Primo rushed inside, pulling her limp body out of the tub. The water spilling over the sides and onto the floor around them. She was unconscious but still, barely, alive. The shallow breathing, just barely noticeable as she was quickly slipping away.
“She's lost so much blood.” Terzo stammered, taking in the horror and shock of the scene before him.
“Quick, get me…. me some ribbon and the black and red bottle from the top shelf of my storage closet in the greenhouse…NOW!” Primo ordered. His voice, a tone none had ever heard before—one that sent the ghouls running off at an unimaginable pace. Ready to fetch all that was asked of them.
“Fratello she’s too far gone.” Secondo reasoned, Primo would hear none of it, holding Gwen close to his chest, both of them drenched in bath water and blood. Primo began to weep, he would do anything to bring her back. It was not her time, he knew it. If she only knew she could be happy again.
“No! I will not let her go.” Primo hissed, rocking her in his arms. The ghouls returned in record time, with the ribbon and the bottle. Primo quickly worked to pour the liquid from inside it over her wounds. Tying the ribbon around her wrists and then, his own.
“You can’t be serious?” Secondo growled, knowing now exactly what his brother planned to do.
“I am.”
“Are you willing to die with her when she chooses this again?” he yelled, angry with Primo.
“She won’t.” Primo assured him, pulling tight the tie around his own wrist with his teeth. Primo grabbed a knife from his pocket, slicing open his palm. He winced as he squeezed his hand over Gwen’s wrists and holding them steady. Mixing her blood with his as he began to chant.
His words methodically and carefully pronounced as they left his lips.
The room filled with silence a moment before the old floorboards began to shake beneath them. The ghouls and brothers, staggering backward as they caught themselves on various things within the room. Primo still with Gwen on the floor, tears of blood beginning to pour from his eyes as he wept for Guinevere. The ribbon tied between them began to tighten—pulsing with energy before it disappeared into both of their skin. The supple flesh of Gwen’s arm slowly returning to return to her—leaving only a small scar in its wake. The blush of color had returned to her cheeks, her pulse no longer thready, and the blood that surrounded them gone. No trace of any of it had been left behind—as if it never happened.
Primo stood up, slowly lifting Gwen into his arms. He was not a young man, but a strong one nonetheless. Though he cursed, under his breath, the age that had taken hold in his knees. He continued on carrying Gwen within his embrace towards the door.
Secondo stopped him by placing a hand on his shoulder to remind him he was there. Everyone else in the room, including Terzo, too stunned to speak. Primo was indeed powerful and it was this night, only like any before it that he had proved it to them. “Fratello?” Secondo asked, as Primo turned to facing both his brothers. A sense of relief finally filling him.
“She will make it; I have made sure of that. I will bring her back to my suite so that I may keep close watch on her.” he started, watching as the need to speak, yanked hard on Secondo’s mouth. “...and I will hear nothing from any of you.” Primo told them as he carried her off to his rooms. Gwen, still unconscious and unaware of anything that had happened, loose in Primo’s loving arms.
“It’s alright amore. I will walk with you through this…this life…and the next.” Primo whispered, kissing the top of her head as they entered his rooms.

Three months ago...
She doubled over in pain, tears streaming down her cheeks. Eyes heavy with the weight of grief, as the inevitable was well on its way to completion. Her hand fell over the small swell of her belly. Pain, now coming in sharp waves. Like an ocean of knives determined to take its pound of flesh.
Her knees hit the floor, hands wrapped around her middle and the sounds of her crying desperately trying to drown out the word and it sympathies. The blood continued dripping along the white bathroom tile. Calling attention to her loss as she heard their voices. Well intentioned words, conjured from unassuming lips, that echoed in her mind.
"Everything happens for a reason…"
"Some things are just not meant to be."
"God has a plan."
It was over before it began.
Present Day
It had been raining for weeks. The clouds squeezed for every last drop and the shining sun, refusing to come out from hiding. The morning downpour had turned into midday afternoon showers as Primo silently cursed Satanas for his aching joints. The weather changes, making him painfully aware of each passing moment spent in his mortal coil. A reminder that he was still somewhat human, unrelenting and bleak. He was getting older, a man now well into his sunset years and finally able to enjoy the well-earned spoils of his retirement from the Papacy.
It had taken decades for his father to release control. A long overdue ascension that had only come after years of fighting with the Ministry. A power now all but led by Sister Imperator, his father’s former lover. Primo had done his best, serving as Papa for many years before resurrecting the Ghost project.
It was not his choice but regardless he was successful. Ghost taking off in directions that only time would tell. A bright future for the Ministry burning like the fires of Hell that lay beyond Charon’s ride. When the time came however, Primo was more than happy to relinquish control to his brother Secondo. His reign, followed soon after by their other brothers Terzo and then Copia—the last of the Emeritus bloodline.
Primo was, for all intents and purposes, happy. The Ghost project, reaching new heights in Copia’s capable hands. Leaving Primo to spend his time how he truly preferred, among his plants and nature. Occasionally communing with the spiritual realm and preparing his weekly Black Mass as he lived out the rest of his days. His life, having been up to this point full.
Primo grew up wanting for nothing. His beloved mother, the last of the Prime Movers, had assured him a coveted education and apprenticeship with the finest necromancers, seers, and casters the Ministry could offer. He grew up with nobility in name, but his strength of character and his actions proved his right to the respect bestowed upon him. A respect shared by every congregant, sibling of sin, clergyman, and ghoul within the Ministry.
His happiest of days were spent raising his two younger brothers whose mothers had been unable and Nihil, incapable of raising by himself. He had hoped that his time now would be a return to solace and enrichment without the pressures of the Papacy. Something, however, had still felt unfulfilled. A gnawing in his stomach that told him a piece was still missing, one he might not ever obtain.
A thought buried deep inside his mind, hiding beneath the dirt and soil he worked so hard to till. The like seeds he planted tirelessly, for the sake of promised beauty. But for now, the rain still fell. Primo peered out the large parlor window of his quarters, sipping on his favorite herbal tea and watching as the old bus pulled up in front of the Abbey.
“Oh Lucifer, that's today?" he sighed, his thoughts recalling an all but forgotten meeting with the Clergy about receiving a set of fresh would-be siblings—now only capable sinners.  Primo stood up from his chair, bone cracking as he went upright and headed out towards the main hall. He adjusted his collar and quickly smeared on his corpse paint before he left. While he would prefer to stay confined to his rooms on a day like today, it was expected of him to greet them.
Along with the other former living Papas, Primo would welcome them to the beginning of their new lives. One outside of God's watchful eye and held in darkness. He arrived downstairs just as they were filing out of the cabin. Terzo and Secondo, already waiting for them on the stairs. The two of them like hungry wolves, eyeing the group for their next bed mate.
“Another flock for which to shepard huh old man.” Terzo mused, a smile on his face as one of the women glanced his way. Ever the charismatic lover, Primo knew he’d make his way through the new recruits as fast as one takes to breath—his lust essential to his being.
“Ah si, but will you allow them to make it to their vows before having them singing praises to Asmodeus from your bed chambers fratellino?” Primo asked, clearing his throat as Terzo rolled his eyes. A typical gesture from the Third Emeritus son to be sure though Primo paid him no mind. While he loved him dearly Primo couldn't help but still see his younger brother as an obstinate child. Forever in pursuit of Lust above all things. Primo wondered how, despite his best efforts, his middle siblings turned out more like Nihil than either would care to admit.
It was times like this he missed Copia, who just happened to be on the first leg of rituals. His first tour as Papa, for which Primo was very proud. It had only been recently that he had learned of the former Cardinal’s parentage and despite their not having grown up together, Primo left just as close with Copia as he did the others. Maybe even more so, since they both shared a distinct distaste for Nihil that was like no other.
As the last of those from the bus had stepped off, the brothers were happy to welcome home Mr. Saltarian. The man in charge of bringing the group to the Abbey and Primo’s dearest old friend. As he approached the first Emeritus son smirked, “Well now…they just allow anyone to recruit new siblings during these times hmm.”
“Well we are surely in times of turmoil my friend and well someone has to do it, it might as well be me.” Saltarian chuckled, raising an eyebrow and throwing his arm around Primo. The two men, sharing a hug before Mr. Saltarian headed inside. Not but a moment later, he returned, this time with Sister Imperator in tow. She was looking especially severe. Her hair pulled back tight and working her favorite charcoal pantsuit and red heels as she walked carefully down the entryway stairs. She began clapping her hands as she reached the drive, trying to gain the crowd's attention before beginning to speak.
“Yes, attention. Welcome, welcome all Seminarians and Novitiate. I am Sister Imperator, the Abbess of this Abbey. Today we will settle you all into your dormitories with the other siblings. You will take the opportunity to rest and unpack. Tomorrow we begin your final training and preparations for full conversion. Now if you will please follow me.” she explained, everyone following her inside.
Primo watched and nodded as the crowd entered the Abbey. The would-be siblings were excited to see the Emeritus sons in person. Most of them, smiling and nodding in reverence as they passed by. It was during this time he caught a glimpse of her—a would-be sister hiding amongst them. Her face was soft, and round. Thick black lashes surrounding eyes of honey brown that matched the golden brown locks from her head. Soft curls that hit just at her waist, seeming to bounce a bit as she walked. The standard crimson and black robes of the tributes, adorned in gold Grucifix embroidery, fitting a bit tight against her ample bosom. A quiet and melancholic demeanor, which may have kept her overlooked from others, calling attention to Primo. Her pale delicate features and withdrawn appearance like a beacon against the smiles and conversations of those around her.
Primo was entranced. There was something about her that made him want to know more. A needy feeling gnawing at the edges of his thoughts. He felt drawn to her, her very soul seeming to be reaching out to him he thought when he was abruptly forced back into reality by a swat to the shoulder.
“Losing focus, fratello?” Secondo laughed, biting his lip as he contemplated his first moves with a number of the new recruits. His intensions worn openly as he practically fucked them with his eyes as they walked in.
“Hardly.” Primo responded as Mr. Saltarian went to stand beside him. “ Salare, who is that woman?” he asked him. Primo’s eyes, never leaving the woman in the crowd. Saltarian tried looking around attempting to see anything that stood out to him.
“You’re gonna have to be more descriptive than that.” he laughed. Primo pressed his lips together in annoyance as the woman that had captured his attention reached the doorway and disappeared inside.
“The one in the back with the longer hair, solemn looking and quiet?” he continued, hoping that would be enough for his friend to figure it out. Saltarian got quiet, nodding to him just before he spoke.
“That's Novitiate Guinevere. Most of the group calls her Gwen not that she really talks to anyone. She’s quiet that one Papa. Why do you ask?” Mr. Saltarian inquired.
“Oh…It is nothing…just a funny feeling.”
