"There is no point to life"
Yes there is, and it is to shamelessly steal as many plants from public spaces as you possibly can.

I can hardly believe it, but at least half of the pavement plants are still alive. Some of the ones that have been in their pots longest (5 days or so) have grown whole new pairs of leaves.
The sycamore (??) seedlings I was sure were dead, because the heat wave scorched their leaves, but it appears only maybe two of them actually are dead. The others are still spry and springy this evening, and are generating tiny new leaves.
They say transplanting is so risky, but I think these little guys are just like "Oh, thank GOD i'm no longer living in literal pavement!"

A little while ago there was a discussion in a houseplant group about ‘proplifting’ (picking up fallen/knocked off leaves from succulents at shops and taking them home to grow into baby plants).
I said something like ‘it’s not ok to damage the plants on purpose, also not ok to prevent a small business from making money. Maybe ask them first. Do whatever you want if it’s a huge chain store that doesn’t specialise in plants, though. Not like they’re gonna miss it’
And someone replied to me with ‘disgusting! Stealing is always wrong, full stop! No matter how big the shop is or much money they have! Would you happily steal 1 million dollars from Jeff Bezos’ bank account, since he’s not gonna ‘miss it’?!’
…I mean, yeah. Who wouldn’t?
Actually baffled by that mentality lol

I regret to inform everyone that it is summer. Which means it is no longer "take leaves and shove as many into my jacket pockets as possible before someone gets suspicious" season

How to Take Plants from the Wild Responsibly
Always know what you’re taking. Leave endangered and threatened plants alone and don’t share their location
Leave conservation areas untouched
Take from areas where the plant is abundant and not visibly struggling.
Do your best to leave slow-growers alone as they’ll be more affected by the loss
Leave far more behind than you take with you.
Aim for minimal disturbance to the ecosystem! When possible, take cuttings for propagation rather than digging stuff up.
Younger plants are easier to remove and transport and will adjust better to your home or garden environment.
If the plant is invasive, feel free to go ham!
