Man arrested for providing fake ID cards to passengers to travel in Mumbai local trains
A 21-year-old Virar resident was arrested by the railway police for Providing fake ID cards of government and non-government sector to passengers who wish to travel in local trains amid the restrictions imposed in the view of the pandemic.
Western Railway’s RPF played a crucial role in the arrest of the person and traced him on the basis of a message circulated on Telegram app. The RPF provided his details, including his phone number and a case was filed against him under Section 420, 465 and 468 of the Indian Penal Code.Currently, only essential workers and those approved by the government are allowed to travel on locals. Women too have permission, but only during non-peak hours. With only certain categories of essential workers eligible to travel by Mumbai’s local trains, others who have to travel long distances for work are resorting to desperate measures to board the trains.
Sumit Thakur , Chief Public Relations Officer of WR, has requested the general public to cooperate with the present COVID-19 norms and follow the instructions.
“Travelling with unauthorised ID cards is a punishable offence. Hence, WR appeals to passengers that only those specific essential categories, as notified by the Maharashtra government should travel in local trains.”

Old video of a railway cop asking for bribes from ‘migrants’ goes viral
Claim: A video has been going viral around social media platforms with false claims of a Railway Police Force (RPF) constable taking bribe from women in Gujarat. The video is being linked to the recent coronavirus lockdown where migrant workers are facing travelling issues. The minute-long video clip shows a uniformed policeman demanding money from a group of women on railway tracks who have a lot of things to carry and no masks on.
However, this is an old video from 2019 and actions were taken against this constable.

The post has been shared on social media platforms with captions that says “The men of India's railway minister demanding money from helpless labourers for walking on the tracks. Be ashamed. Labourer = Helpless”

TRUTH
This video was shot in Gujarat from 2019. The RPF cop in the video was demanding bribe from a group of women who sold goods illegally. The constable was later dismissed.
After searching through keyframes from the video, an old tweet from July, 2019 was found with the same video. The video’s caption said, "RPF jawans in Surat dismissed from service after his video taking bribe from bootlegger women goes viral." It has links it to a news report on their website, Desh Gujarat.
More reports about the same were found published in July, 2019. Ahemdabad Mirror mentioned “An RPF constable named Jaikant has been dismissed from service after a video depicting him demanding bribes from women went viral. The video shot on WR's Surat section.”
News video report from ABP Asmita also mentions about this incident. The video was uploaded on 11th July 2019.
Hence, the video currently surfacing online is an old video from 2019. It is in no way connected to the problems migrants are facing amidst the lockdown.

दरअसल मुंबई में गोवंडी रेलवे स्टेशन पर एक भिखारी की लोकल ट्रेन की टक्कर से शुक्रवार को मौत हो गई थी। रेलवे पुलिस जब परिजनों की तलाश में भिखारी के घर पहुंची तो उनके होश उड़ गए। पुलिस को भिखारी की झोपड़ी में पैसों से भरी थैलियां मिलीं जिसमें लगभग दो लाख रूपए के सिक्के हैं। इतना ही नहीं वहां से बैंक की पासबुक भी मिली है जिसमें कुल 8 लाख 77 हजार रुपए जमा हैं।

भिखारी की पहचान बिरभिचंद आजाद के रूप में हुई है। कहा जा रहा है कि आजाद मुंबई की लोकल ट्रेन में भीख मांगता था। शुक्रवार को रेलवे लाइन क्रॉस करते वक्त उसकी ट्रेन की टक्कर से मौत हो गई। जांच पड़ताल में रेलवे पुलिस को आजाद की झोपड़ी से आधार कार्ड, पैन कार्ड और सीनियर सिटिजन कार्ड मिला है। जिस पर राजस्थान का पता लिखा हुआ है।
आजाद के पड़ोसियों ने बताया कि पहले वह अपने परिवार के साथ रहता था, लेकिन बाद में उसका पूरा परिवार उसे छोड़कर चला गया और वह अकेला रहने लगा। इसके बाद गुजारे के लिए वह भीख मांगने लगा। फिलहाल पुलिस आजाद के बेटे और उसके परिवार तक पहुंचने की कोशिश में जुटी हुई है।
