Recently I ordered a crate from Amazon because I've needed one for separating animals if need be for some time now. Since Sammy wasn't inclined to give his up I had to buy one. I thought it would be about the size needed for an average golden retriever. I was wrong. Oh I was sooooo wrong. John put it together in my spare room just to make sure all the parts were there and nothing was broken and when I saw it I laughed until it hurt. I'm pretty sure I could fit all of my chickens in this thing at the same time. Probably the ducks too. It's huge. John and I could both fit in it, comfortably. No we didn't try it, don't be silly. I've included pictures of sweet Sammy for comparison. The funniest part isn't the size though. The funniest thing is that one carrying handle. Trust me there's no way that you could pick that thing up by that carrying handle and carry it around. If you manage to pick it up, and that's a pretty significant if, it would simply bend the top. It's like they just continue to size these things up without giving any thought whatsoever to the fact that what works on the smaller ones might not work on the bigger ones. I mean they could have at least given me two carrying handles. Anyway I just thought I'd share my epic miscalculation just in case any of you thought it was funny too. 1st thing after unpacking is starting a new tray of #microgreens. Even apartment dwellers can grow them! This tray is parsley so it will be done quickly. They are tucked away under cover for now and we will move them to light later for finishing. We don't use soil.
