The Good Witch Thoughts

When I first heard the album I remember thinking there aren’t enough sad songs on here and then I entered a depressive spiral and HA I WAS WRONG (Sidenote i hate tumblr formatting)

1 - The Good Witch

Like the vibe 

“Still upset but I now I’m twenty-two” - I'm a sucker for an age lyric - especially the parallel with You Signed Up For This (“I am twenty and probably upset right now”) and the fact that it’s the titular song again

“Still bitter” - Reference to Details (love of my life <3), Reference to I’m Trying (Not Friends)

“The calm before the storm comes rushing through” - Harmony v pretty (around 30 secs) 

“Still King’s Cross and pullin’ heartbreak out of hats”- Love the reference to King’s Cross, her London references makes it feel so grounded and especially again it being a place in London I travel through it makes it feel like a new album and a specific album to me (still King’s Cross for a tiny little while longer). Also relating to Elvis song (“last train on the Northern line”) always moving through London, experiences anchored in London geography. Also love the ramping up of the music here

“Still argue like my mother and suppress stuff like my dad” - The pace on this line really shows the suppressing stuff lol

“Am I better yet?” - Change from You Signed Up For This “I know I’ll get better/I’m just not better yet" Questioning it now like I know I’ve changed but is it better? Am I at the point I want to be??

“Haven’t thought of home twice” - feels like a hectic Cambridge time or any second and third week somewhere new when you’ve started to settle and everything is new and fun and you’re flying and you don’t wanna lose it

“You’re kind of awful but you’re not awful on purpose” - Ugh you suck but you’re not even aware so it’s better and worse because how can I blame you but also how can you not know??

The screen then becomes a picture of the opponent and Rachel, before someone unknown rips it in half, returning to the arena with the opponent being dealt moderate damage.

Perfect Storm: Begins with Rachel shouting at the opponent. She then levitates into the air, summoning a monstrous tornado to strike the opponent, this does close to 60% damage, but is final boss exclusive.

Victory animation:

Playable: Rachel looks at the player and winks, before disappearing behind a whirlwind of posters.

Final boss: A gust of wind blows a flier onto the screen, which is a missing person’s poster of the defeated opponent.

Life is Strange just has so many little details you miss in your first playthrough

like I’m recording for clips and here’s some things I found when I slowed the fuck down and took my time exploring:

• All the demeaning graffiti about Rachel being similar with Kate, like i hadn’t thought that would be a connection Max might have made between them • You can talk to Juliette and Brooke before showering after looking at them and you can tell Juliette off for how she talks about Kate’s video • The whole thing with Dana’s pregnancy test and comforting her about it, and how friendly Max and Dana are with each other like I wanted more Dana • Victoria being a secret nerd • Talking to the science teacher about how you help Warren like how did i not think of that Ms Grant was right there • That bird being fucking everywhere • SQUIRRELS being fucking everywhere • Finding Chloe’s truck in the parking lot before talking to Warren • There’s another scenic spot to sit in in front of Blackwell by a tree near the parking lot route • How did i not take the time to explore the downstairs of the Price house ever • If you select “boys are trouble” dialogue in ep3 in Chloe’s room, she’ll end the convo saying she’s p much the only person good enough for you • it doesn’t matter which locker room you choose to go through to get to the swimming pool, you can just loop your way around and snoop in the other one before turning on the pool • i missed an entire conversation because i forgot to rewind and impress Justin with sk8r knowledge • Jefferson’s behaviour when Rachel is mentioned and just hints and foreshadowing in general about the dickbag • There’s a piece of punk clothing in the area where Rachel is buried in the junkyard in ep2, along with syringes near the boat

I’m sure I’ll have more to add after i replay Ep4 and Ep5 so stay tuned

• So i am fucking blind because I did not notice I could talk to friend Dana or rip Logan a new asshole before talking to Victoria at the party • There’s another contemplation spot at the other end of the VIP section where you sit and judge everyone for having this party with all the sounds muffled and it’s actually pretty chill • Hayden is always high. Just. Why Hayden. You even admitted you can’t see the people sitting right next to you. Go take a nap or something man. • We get a Miyazaki namedrop and yet The Girl Who Leapt Through Time doesn’t get a nod during the time research what kind of geek game is this i’m furious • The Rumour Come Out: Does Chloe Price Is Gay? (you bet your ass does Chloe Price is gay) • Forgot to mention I finally figured out where the Homeless Lady was like the game guilted me for not warning her about the storm and I was just “WHAT LADY” • Juliet hooks back up with Zachery at the party. Probably because Logan is a douche canoe • I got a glitch where the shadow of Brooke’s phone haunts the screen when you talk to her • Either Warren got an invite to the VIP section or he is himself a casual ninja and stole some booze. honestly he probably is since he stealths in to surprise headbutt Nathan • Brooke really likes to rub in that Warren invites her to the movie because the line “i sure hope Max isn’t mad Warren asked ME to the drive-in” loops like right after you talk to her • I must have had some kind of audio glitch on my first playthrough because the music at the party just went mute after Got Well Soon and people were YELLING OVER NOTHING and it was hilarious
