Maria acknowledged they were better apart and that she didn’t want to see someone (read: Alex) be better for Michael than her. And honestly, Michael didn’t even fight her on it.

Maria did the right thing.

God I can't wait for Malex to come back to me. Finally watching them build a friendship, one that was so cruel-y ripped away from them both. Getting to watch their love grow and expand in healthy ways. Roswell NM created something really special with them. Malex was placed on the same level as the shows leading het!couple and that is pretty damn amazing, and that was done right out of the gate, no stalling or iffing or umming. 

I think I understand what Carina is doing with Malex (even if I do wish the triangle was not apart of that, especially in terms of this sometimes rather volatile fandom). Malex truly started in a place of darkness in this show.. their story is about bringing their love (which isn't toxic or shameful or bad) into the light. What Malex have is beautiful, and I can't wait for the moment when they both realise this, and embrace it 👨‍❤️‍👨
