🫀 In His Head | Rook Hunt x Reader

Rook hoped you would get the memo. The arrows that had messages attached to them, the little gifts; he hoped those would resonate a thought within you.

Unfortunately, you were more dense than he had realized. You would return his arrows with a smile, and read his letters aloud. Something that was meant for your eyes was broadcasted to your friend group. And they knew what was up. Of course they did. They would send him judgemental glares in the halls. And yet they never bothered to tell you. At least, when they tried to hint at it you would never understand.

But today… today you would understand. He had prepared everything. You would be awed by the beauty of what he had prepared for you. You couldn’t ignore his feelings now.

Figuring out where you were was easy. He basically knew the school from the inside out, and also knew your schedule and routes by heart. It was 12:07, and you would be eating lunch on the bleachers while you watched the spelldrive practice.

Picking up an arrow, Rook stabbed it through a note that read Please come behind the bleachers on the opposite side, le chasseur d'amour. Placing the back of the arrow on the string, he pulled it back before the twang of releasing it sounded. And the arrow stuck perfectly on the wooden bleachers you were sitting on. He watched as you read the notes aloud, and how your friends talked to you about something that you denied.

When you rounded the corner, he was nervously excited. He asked you to follow him, and you complied, nodding and smiling. Perfectly oblivious.

You followed Rook into a small clearing surrounded by trees, where he stopped and turned to look at you.

“Rook, can I ask what this is all about?” you asked, confused on why he would bring you so secluded.

“Le chasseur d’amour, je suis très amoureux de toi. A chaque instant, je pense à toi. S'il vous plaît, acceptez ma confession.” He confessed, hand on his chest and one out at you.

“I’m so sorry… could you repeat that?” you asked, not speaking French.

“Trickster,” he started, more embarrassed than before. “I am deeply in love with you. Would you do me the utmost favor of accepting my confession?”

“You… love me?” you ask.

“I always have,” he says, taking off his hat.

“Oh Rook,” you sigh deeply. “I’m so sorry.”

“Excuse moi?” He was not prepared for this response.

“I’m so sorry Rook.” you feel tears well in your eyes. “I’m already dating someone.”

“If I may,” his heart drops. “Who?”

“Someone from my home,” your lips form a sickly sweet smile. “They’re from my world.”

Oh.

He could never compete with someone from a different world. And he would rather lay down his bow than interfere with your relationships.

“I… je vois,” he wouldn’t let tears come to his eyes. He wouldn’t allow it. “In that case, thank you for your time, Prefect.”

He exited the forest without you, and was lowering the hem of his hat so as to not be seen in such a state. He wouldn’t love someone again. He wouldn’t put his heart out there. For his broken heart would never heal again.

i've been seeing a bunch of posts about ur f/o taking u for a late night drive to get snacks/fast food which is really cute but i'm also pretty certain dottore wouldn't know how to drive (i'm not sure if he'd even fit into a normal sized car) so i'm just imagining him simply putting silvio on his shoulder or tucking him under his arm and taking him to the nearest convenience store when he starts pestering dottore about getting food at 1 am

#the thing is i feel like u could teach the automata how to operate a vehicle pretty easily #convincing them to actually adhere to traffic laws and not drive with reckless abandon on the other hand..... #s: eat your heart out 🫀

i still had an ask for that s/i ask meme sitting in my drafts but i think tumblr ate it so here some incoherent rambling abt silvio instead <3 (k/arakuri ci/rcus spoilers for those who care)

so. i think silvio wouldn't play a very significant role in the story of kc - he's just kinda in the background during much of it, and while he does eventually shows up during some main events and also helps with saving da world, things still turn out the same regardless of his presence/involvement. the biggest thing his existence changes about the story is probably the fact that dottore gets to survive and get his own redemption arc/character development. in the actual canon i do kind of believe that dottore is pretty much damaged beyond repair (and unfortunately i think his death makes sense narratively) but in my own version of things his "brain" is still intact and it's still possible for him to get repaired, but seeing how he uh. spilled most of his synthetic body fluids, it actually takes a lot more effort to get him running again - and since the pionniers are essentially just being kept around by faceless for his petty amusement while not being of actual use to him, he initially doesn't wanna go through all that trouble to save what he thinks is a piece of scrap metal......however, silvio saves whatever he can of dottore's body and somehow convinces faceless to repair him as well. i'm not sure HOW he does it since he's technically not very useful to faceless either, but my best guess is that faceless would have an interest in seeing that (doomed, as he believes) "love story" unfold....maybe because he's also attempted to gain the love of an automaton and very much failed at that, so seeing someone else's tragic, unhappy love story might give him some satisfaction. funnily enough neither dottore nor silvio would really speak of love at that point and it definitely takes a while for them to develop deeper feelings for each other, but the fact that silvio cares about dottore for whatever reason and being weirdly close to him for a human might just be enough for faceless. i think i've made a post about this before but i also believe that faceless definitely would enjoy toying with them once they do become visibly closer, and find pleasure in hurting one of them to hurt the other, while also mocking them for being a broken, useless human and a soulless, loveless artifical who could never really know how to love each other etc etc

so i basically spent the last two days laying in bed and being in pain (doing better now tho!) which was Not Awesome but obviously it made me think about dottore trying to take care of silvio when he's sick/injured....i'm kinda imagining this would take place after the pionniers got rebuilt (which now includes dottore because through the power of love and faggotry everything is possible <3), because faceless also kinda catches onto the fact that silvio and dottore are...close? and finds it very entertaining to mock them for it and convince them both they're broken beings unable to & undeserving of love. he also generally mainly keeps silvio around to make fun of him and has little regard for his well-being, so he might be part of the reason silvio got hurt in the first place...and once he realizes dottore kinda keeps hovering around him and actually seems kind of worried he just ends up taunting him because obviously he's nothing but a broken doll who failed miserably at fulfilling his one purpose, and all he's ever really been good for was killing & spreading misery among humans, so it's ridiculous to see him suddenly act like he cares. he doesn't have anything resembling a human heart and clearly understands nothing about human emotions (if he did wouldn't he have been able to make francine laugh?), so and he's deluding himself if he think that this game of pretend brings him any closer to becoming human.

sadly the thing he's saying are probably getting to both of them at least a little bit because they already believe they aren't really suitable for such emotions.....yeah anyway this post wasn't very cute because i guess i'm not that good at writing abt stuff like that but. here's some lore either way

👋 - Do you like to hold hands? What are their hands like?

ough okay first thought is just. they are BIG. very very big compared to silvio's....HOWEVER i also kind of noticed that his fingers actually seem pretty slender in certain panels, especially compared to how his general stature is more broad....i'm not sure if this was a conscious choice regarding his character design or just a part of the drawing style but either way that's how i think of them!! anyway considering his size they are still a lot bigger than silvio's ://) i also imagine his gloves to feel very soft and velvety....i'm honestly still very undecided about what i think his "skin" feels like - at his point like to imagine it as fairly lifelike, but still recognizable as artificial in some ways. in my mind it's kinda like...somewhere between touching human skin and a wax figure lmao. maybe a bit uncanny if u're not used to it but not unpleasant. i can't remember if there's anything in canon proving me otherwise but i also kinda think he wouldn't have any internal body heat but i think his skin could be warmed up...by holding hands perhaps...

speaking of which i aactuaalllyyy don't think they'd be that big on holding hands whenever they're out and about, partially because silvio prefers to sit on dottore's shoulder or get carried by him hehe :') i do imagine that dottore enjoys just taking silvio's hands every once in a while whenever they're just sitting around to take them between his own just because he thinks it's kind of hilariously cute how small they are. also i think he doesn't do it often but the first time dottore took his gloves off to touch silvios hands was very special......

👬 - What kind of hugs do they give? (Do they lift you off your feet? Bear hug you? Softly cuddle you?)

HE DEFINITELY LIFTS SILVIO OFF HIS FEET AWUWHWUWH. i guess it kinda comes naturally w their height difference but as i've mentioned silvio also enjoys being carried by him and getting picked up so he can climb around on him lmao. i also like to imagine dottore just twirling him around or throwing him in the air a lil bit...juggling that little dude...idk i guess i just think their hugs would be very playful <3 I ALSO BELIEVE HIS CHEST AND BELLY WOULD BE VERY SOFT. i know he's made of metal and wood and whatever but this is my fantasy and i can do whatever i want forever. silvio DEMANDS to be given bear hugs so he can burry his face in there.

😘 - Do they kiss your hands, cheeks, forehead etc? What kind of not-on-the-lips kisses do they give most?

HAND KISSES I AM ACTUALLY THINKING SO MUCH ABOUT HAND KISSES AHEEM HEEM. i think sometimes he'd do it in a very gallant and intimate way, kneeling in front of silvio, looking up at him while he takes his time to press kisses to his palm and back of his hand, all the way up to his wrist.....sometimes it'd just be him casually taking silvio's hand to press a quick little kiss to it while they're sitting together somewhere....also silvio caressing dottore's face and him grabbing his hand so he can press a kiss to his palm AAAAAAHHHH (smashes a cup over my head) okay i'm fine

💃 - Do you ever dance together?

waah yeah :) i think dottore is definitely a good dancer and tries teaching silvio different styles of dancing (w varying degrees of success lmao)...some moves would probably prove to be a little difficult due to their height difference but it's fine they can improvise <3 i'm also so stupidly gay for the thought of dottore actually being so gentle during this...confidently but softly leading silvio along, making sure he can follow, holding him when he stumbles so he doesn't fall.......sometimes they do enjoy dancing slowly either for the intimacy of it or because they're genuinely practicing, but we're talking about dottore here so obviously i think he would also like to get a bit more bold and theatrical with it, which silvio also enjoys especially because he likes being thrown around, twirled, dipped....sometimes their dancing probably becomes a little acrobatic. dottore definitely likes putting on a show whether it's a more classical dance or they're just free-styling it :')

👭 - Do they put their arm around your waist or your shoulders?

with dottore i think it's not a super common occurrence mainly because dottore really isn't all that used to showing or receiving affection, it would definitely take a while until he'd start displaying casual gestures like that....but i think especially post-canon he would occasionally do this to show that they are Together. back when they were still with the midnight circus dottore would definitely make sure to signal to the other automata to keep their hands off silvio because he's essentially his little pet human....there's always a little bit of possessiveness there (not so much directed at silvio but at other people/automata), but he eventually starts to feel genuinely protective of him and i could see him using small gestures like this to let others know not to mess with him lmao

shapesmith ABSOLUTELY does. i imagine he is very very touchy w ky (and they love it) - almost always putting a hand on their shoulder or an arm around them when they're together. it's probably not even something he thinks about much after a while, they've both just become very used to always being in each other's space and touching each other in some small or big way

💇 - Do either of you play with the other’s hair?

hmm my s/is have short hair for the most part and so do my f/os, and i actually don't enjoy having my hair played with very much,,,but since i keep my hair very very short irl people love giving me head scritches because of the way it feels which is something that i actually like lmao. so if that count's as playing with each other's hair then yeah :) i could definitely see shapesmith and dottore enjoying it as well.....

💪 - Are either of you the type to bump each other with hips/shoulders?

once again dottore and silvio not so much (also a bit difficult since silvio reaches up roughly to his chest. maybe), but it's definitelyyyy a kysmith thing <3 they do it playfully a lot but i imagine it's also something they tend to do before fights/missions sometimes, kind of a quiet "i've got ur back"

👕 - Do you ever wear each other’s clothing?

once again it's a bit difficult with both of them because uh. dottore has exactly One Outfit (plus silvio's clothes would ABSOLUTELY not fit him </3) and shapesmith technically doesn't wear real clothes....BUT i'm still thinking about scenarios for both of them where at least dottore/shapesmith lend their clothing to silvio/ky hehe. i like to think ky and shapesmith would definitely go shopping for clothes together, even though in shapesmith's case he doesn't necessarily need to buy them and is just looking for inspiration on what to "wear" in terms of human fashion and develop more of his own style because he's always just worn a uniform (or his costume) before. but i also think it'd be cute if he eventually started buying a few clothes, mainly so ky could wear them because he's seen other couples do it and got a little sad he could never give them his jacket/sweater/whatever....he never explicitly says this but ky definitely catches on and appreciates it a lot :')

with dottore i also imagine there are a few times he ends up putting his jacket (?? or whatever u call that) around silvio because he's cold or injured, and given we know how much value the pionniers place on the clothes given to them by francine i think it's definitely a special gesture <3
