Babies first time trying to build and decorate a house in TS3 please don’t cyber bully me.

#ts3 #the sims #the sims3 #sims 3 interior #simblr #i downloaded some CC #sorry s3 girlies but building and decorating in s4 is so much easier #though cast is cool #when I go into tab mode my game zooms in ssoooo close so these were difficult to take #and my screenshots come out incredibly dark #so I had to edit them #and I don't know how to turn off the notifications on the picture either #and I had to download OMSP which is frustrating to use but I needed it for clutter #but I did have fun #I can't stop just making everything wood though #and I'm trying to not download too much S4 conversions cause I've been playing with the same stuff for years so I want something new to me

i did some research on how to do the modified 40s pageboy hairstyles that sS1 thru 3 and sort-of-S4 Scully wears and honestly those are some specific, time consuming steps. While in a Doyalist sense, A) it was the early 90s and professional women had to show up everywhere polished and styled to meet the ridiculously high bar social expectations for being well groomed enough to be "taken seriously" and big hair was, well, Big in the 80s/early 90s, and B) it was television and there were stylists and an updated 40s pulpy noir aesthetic they were creating.

But it does make me wonder in a Watsonian way about how careful or un-careful baby Scully was about letting Mulder see her in her rollers when he was showing up at the crack of dawn to drag her away on some new case 😆🥺💜

#s2 and s3 hair turns out to be almost entirely vintage style they even gave her the longer midi haircut to give her that veronica lake swoop #it's so specific and not exactly what i remember from the early 90s. i remember a lot more like fluffy volume styles #anyway i find scully's extremely formal and old fashioned grooming fascinating from a character interior perspective #txf #the x files #dana scully #character theory: scully

I must confess, my toxic trait is telling you I don’t have any time to make conversions and then spend hours playing the sims lmao

No for real, these last couple of days I felt the urge to play the sims, like I NEEDED it. I actually didn’t play at all for such a long time, because more than a year ago I decided to clean my game as it became impossible to play due to the amount of CC I had (more than 10.000). 

So I converted everything to package and began to check every single piece of CC I had, one by one, to decide if I should keep it or not, make the files smaller by deleting useless swatches, fix what needed to be fixed etc... And guess what ? It took sooo much more time than I thought (especially because I found a job in the meantime) and one year later I’m still not done, I have 2000 CC that are done and still have 900 to go (plus the ones I’ll have to download again and check as well 🙈)

I keep telling myself to finish that once and for all before doing conversions again but it just bothers me too much. And two days ago I decided to launch the game to decorate a building because I was missing it so badly ! But it’s so frustrating because I’ve only put like 200 CC in my game so it wouldn’t lag so I had to make it with that, and it’s not easy when I’m used to thousands and thousands of objects haha, the choice is pretty limited

Anyway, as I said a few weeks ago I won’t be able to convert stuff before I come back from my holidays in December, and then I’ll have to decide if I finish to clean my game first or if I share new stuff as I miss that too ! And there are sooo many beautiful TS4 stuff that I want to convert to add to my game and share with you all, that’s why I think maybe it’s a good idea to finish doing what I began before adding new CC over and over again ? Well we’ll see what the future brings haha !

me: im gonna get so much gameplay shit done this weekend! also me: no i need to move every sim out of this apartment so i can completely remodel/redecorate every single one just in case i go inside their apartments with a playable sim and they look too empty.
