Author's Note: Wow! Not me updating more than 1 year later... in any case, this has been sitting in my drafts for while. I intend to finish this even though 2022 is long over. I hope you don't mind.

Sasuke thought it was weird when he saw the usual hawk eyes on him with less killing intent behind him.
‘What was his name again?’ he thought as his family passed the stoic man and entered the onsen-ji.
His mother oohed and ahhed as they stepped into the foyer. His father looked around the entrance hall with a meticulous eye. The Hyuuga kept the onsen-ji traditional in a sense that one would think they never advanced past the Meiji era. Sasuke watched him warily, almost ready to jump to defend Hinata if unfavorable judgment passed his lips.
“It is quite beautiful inside,” he father remarked.
"Isn't it? Oh, I'm so glad I picked it. We'll have a wonderful time!" his mother gushed.
“Uchiha-san, welcome,” the stoic man they passed earlier greeted them. “I am Ko, at your service.”
‘Ah, that’s it. Ko. The other bodyguard.’ Sasuke stared at him while Ko regarded him with a small nod.
“Hinata-sama sends her well-wishes. She is acting in her father’s stead at a conference and won’t be able to see you during your stay, Mikoto-san.”
A small pout formed on his mother’s face. “It is quite alright, Ko-san. Please send Hinata my regards.”
Sasuke studied the expression on his mother’s face as she spoke amicably with Hinata’s bodyguard about the onsen-ji’s interior and architecture. His father hummed every so often as they carried their conversation away from the foyer. She was upset, understandably. She saw Hinata as a daughter-figure and had hoped to see her during their visit.
He knew Hinata wouldn’t be at the onsen-ji during his family’s vacation. She apologized profusely the day she found out she had to attend the conference.
‘Father wants me to go. He thinks it’ll help me have a better understanding of marketing and management for the future of the onsen-ji.’
The corners of his lips slightly dipped at the thought of the Hyuuga clan head. Sasuke inwardly scoffed. ‘Of course, he would.’ The shift in Sasuke’s demeanor was minute but it was enough for his brother to nudge him as Ko led his family to their suite.
“Chin up, little brother,” Itachi smirked. “The conference will be over before you know it.”
Sasuke swiftly turned his head, refusing to let his brother see the growing blush on his face. “Tch. I know.”

The weekend spent at the onsen-ji seemed to pass by slowly. From the moment he opened his eyes in the morning til the moment they closed at night, everything reminded him of the lack of Hinata's presence. And try as Ko and the older aunts might, they couldn't replace her.
Without fail, the older aunts of the onsen-ji offered him onigiri whenever he passed by and even Ko brought out a few tomatoes from Hinata's personal garden. He was touched that Hinata thought of him, even when she was busy herself.
Sasuke fell back on his bed. His mind raced back to their families' impromptu meeting.

The door slammed, making Hinata flinch. Shikamaru shuffled out of his shoes and walked past her to his room. “Welcome…” The door to his room slammed as well. “Home.” She bit down on her lip and looked down into the pot of kelp soup.

Why Is It Always You? Chapter 28 SasuHina ✿ Complete
“Hinata,” Shikamaru called behind her as Sasuke collected their things. Hinata waved Sasuke ahead and waited for him with a smile. “Here.” He offered her a bouquet he was carrying, making a face at the two she already had.
Hinata accepted it and laid them together. “It’s unusual for students to give other students flowers for graduation.”
“I thought your dad wouldn’t get you one.” Shikamaru shrugged.
Lighthouse Chapter 3 KisaHina ✿ Ongoing
“What is that?” Hinata squeaked.
“What is what?” His dark little shack was as empty as it ever was. Nothing was knocked over or broken. The only thing he could hear was the leaky skin dripping.
Just then, the neighbor’s roster screeched making Hinata flinched down.
“That?” Kisame poked his thumb outside. She nodded. He laughed. “That’s just a chicken. You’ve never seen a chicken?”
A Kiss Between Strangers Chapter 10 GaaHina ✿ Ongoing
Gaara pushed the knife through the carrot. His sister was much quicker with each chop and had gone through several in the time it took him to do this one, but she told him to take his time and do it correctly, so that was what he was trying to do.
Temari looked over from what she was doing. “You know it’s a good thing you are learning. Girls like a man that can cook.”
Gaara’s face twitched curiously. It seemed like an odd thing to gender. Was it not desirable for women to know how to cook as well? Food was something everyone needed to eat, and most people liked.
Riding Hearts Chapter 13 Akatsuki x Hinata ✿ Ongoing
“Ready to go?” Kisame asked.
Hinata nodded, flipping the sign to the pawn shop from open to close as she came out the door and gave Sasori a final wave before she climbed into Kisame’s truck and put on her seat belt. She waited for him to get settled, looking at him expectantly.
Cute little shit.
“Good day at the shop?” Kisame wondered as he backed out of the parking lot.
Red Memories Chapter 33 SasuHina ✿ Ongoing
Sakura nodded. “Some fathers take more time to feel like fathers.” She probably saw a lot of that at the hospital.
“Not me,” Lee assured her, setting his hand on Sakura’s still-flat midsection. “I am a dad right now.”
Sakura closed her hand over his. “You’re unique, dear.”
The last chapter of Why Is It Always You? is now up!
Finishing a story is always weird, but having everyone have the last chapter is another. It's always weird to fully put down a project, even if I have had it finished for a while.

Hey there, for those that don’t know me, I go by Ghost and I am the founder of both the @sasuhinabigflash2022 and @sasuhinazine
Like the title says, I think it’s high time SasuHina had a day of its own, just a day to celebrate our ship and why we love it.

To catch a star, to fall for one
Day 13: lucid dream, follows the Kimono prompt. In which Hinata does too much and Sasuke gets angry.
Summer fades into fall. Hinata’s health wanes with the coming rains.
She feels sluggish. Heavy as the water that pounds against her window pane. She doesn’t want to move. Her headaches are getting worse and she’s been too petrified after her first failed attempt to experiment anymore.
Her resolve is weak, but still she pushes herself to get up and go to her new job at the local apothecary. She slides out from under the many blankets she’s piled on, and slips on her bunny slippers to avoid the chilled wooden floor.
She dresses quickly into an oversized gray sweater, some drab long pants, and winces at her reflection in the mirror. Her cheeks are still sallow, her eyes ringed by prominent dark circles, her is lank and unkempt…her clothes hang off her more so than usual.
She hopes no one notices.

“Are you alright, sweetheart? Do you need a moment to rest?” Asks Koto-San. She is Hinata’s current employer. An old, kindly apothecary who had needed an extra hand after her grandson had gone off to university in Kumogakure.
Hinata looks up for a moment from wrapping up the next parcel of herbs, shakes her head with a polite smile, and continues to work.
Koto-San admires the girl’s work ethic. She really does. Hinata is the opposite of everything she’d come to expect from a Hyuuga. The girl is humble, sweet, and skilled with herbal remedies. Hinata still holds her head with a certain manner of well bred elegance that would have left Koto-San envious had she been a few decades younger.
As it is, Koto-san has merely grown to love the girl for all her kindness, and she worries as she sees her grow thinner, more tired with the passing month.
Her smiles are still broad. Her warm interactions with customers still draw in more regulars, like moths to a bright little flame. Never hesitating…save for today it seems.
A particularly beautiful young man with dark hair and eyes enters the small shop. The top of his head nearly brushes the hanging potted herbs, and Koto-san finds his stoicism a bit daunting.
At least until Hinata returns from the storeroom, muttering recipes to herself.
The change is instant. The young man’s eyes widen, his cheeks flush for an instant, before he brings his hand to his face and looks away.
Koto-san is filled with amusement. The boy recognizes her lovely employee and seems to find himself in the throes of some sort of attraction.
“Hinata dear, we have a customer. Could you please attend to his order?” Koto-san announces with cheer, before making herself scarce in the back room.
“Of course, Koto-San! Hello sir, how may I he…oh crap…” Hinata stops once she looks at who exactly is the new customer. The packets in her hand fall to the floor with dull thuds as her cheeks flush with a long absent red.
“Hyuuga.” Sasuke says quietly, amusement at war with every bit of awkwardness the situation could merit. He’s long since dropped his hand from his face, seeing as his reaction couldn’t have been any worse than hers.
Her jaw seems to be working to say something, but all that comes out is series of petite coughs that remind him of when he had accused her of seeking out erotica in the library.
“U-Uchiha-San….how may I help you?” She gathers herself, pulling her flaming face into the best sort of politeness she can muster up at the moment.
She hadn’t seen him since the night of the festival. The last week of August. It was now early October.
Still, Sasuke seems to be feeling magnanimous, because he merely shrugs and tells her his order. He points out the various herbs on the shelves just to make it easier as well. It doesn’t escape her notice that he’s moving his arm stiffly, and she can see a clean, white bandage peeking out from under his long sleeve.
“You’re hurt? What happened?” She says worriedly, as she wraps up the last few packages for him.
He seems surprised by her inquiry, and then smiles with fondness at the familiarity of her concern.
“I was distracted. Stupid mistake.”
She frowns. He’s being evasive, and she knows this distance between them will only grow unless she addresses what happened. His absence from her life has left more of a gaping hole than she’d realized. She’d stored away the moonstone bracelet in her nightstand, fearing that wearing it may give the wrong kind of signal.
She isn’t used to this at all. She is unsure how to proceed. At the same time, it hurts not to have him in her life..however infrequently their paths crossed.
“Sasuke…I…” she begins quietly…too quietly.
“You’ve been avoiding me.” He interrupts without meaning too, and then gestures at her to continue.
“I…” she wants to deny the accusation, but she’d be lying and she doesn’t want to be false with him. They’d been so open with each other for the most part…he’s a piece of her world now. He shares her burden of Neji’s secret…she can’t lie. “I did…but I didn’t want to…I’m just not good with this.”
She gestures sheepishly in between herself and him, and looks down at the discarded pieces of white wrapping paper.
“I had no expectations Hinata…I have none. Things can stay the same…if that’s what you want.”
She feels the tears gathering at the corners of her eyes. The watery sunlight seeping in from behind gray clouds makes everything feel silvery and dreamlike. She feels warm. Too warm.
But she’s grateful. Her smile is big and genuine as she nods her head.
His answering smile, a nice one that reaches all the way up into his pretty eyes, is the last thing she sees before she collapses.

She drifts in between the stars, her hair trailing past her in the dead air of space.
Her eyes burn against the brightness of it all, the multi-hued totality of the galaxies are mesmerizing…especially when the stars begin to fall and shoot past her.
They’re beautiful, molten silver streaking like white hot ribbons. when she reaches out to touch one, they burn her fingers. It hurts too much, pain shooting all the way up her arm and searing into her head.
She opens her mouth in a silent scream, but then a blessedly cool hand presses against her lips, trails up alongside her temple and forehead leaving relief and peace in its wake.
She tries to look past the stars in her eyes, to thank her savior, but she can only make out a silhouette.
The stars keep raining, but this person cradles her cheek in one hand and holds a familiar, battered umbrella over them both with the other hand.
The stars bounce off of it with bell like sounds, and she swears she can hear this person say-
“I love you. So wake up, stupid.”
She leans her head against the solid support of their embrace, and doesn’t protest when they kiss her forehead. This is only a dream after all.
She says vaguely to herself and them-
“I think I could fall for you.”

She looks so tired, frail. She’s shattering here on his couch, and he can’t help her. He can only help keep her cool. He could have asked Sakura, but something tells him this illness has everything to do with Hinata’s exhaustion from the past few months.
She seems to be settling from her initial fever dreams, mumbling incoherent things until she speaks with some clarity.
“I think I could fall for you.”
He has to take in a sharp breath when she utters those words.
An unwanted hope spears through him, fills his lungs until he feels he might go insane with want and dreams and he can’t let himself feel this. He’d had no expectations.
He’d had no expectations for forgiveness when he first came. Had had no expectations for reparations to be made or for his family name to be expunged…he’d merely counted himself lucky to be able to help Naruto change this world into one where no more children like him would be raised…no children alone or fearful of the future.
He’d only expected to rebuild this little home of his in the Ghostly Uchiha district. Only expected to live with the remnants of his mother’s garden and the sparse few belonging sItachi had left behind.
He had been content to be nothing but a solid stone, forever watching the currents of life eek past him.
And then she had shot into his life like a falling star, wide moon eyes pulling him closer until he caught her in his waiting arms.
Her words make his heart beat fast, but it quickly sinks back down to the pit his of stomach when he wipes away the sweat gathering on her forehead with a damp towel.
He sweeps back her long bangs to reveal a horrifying green cross, surrounded by a flowering reddish bruise that is hot to the touch.
He curses loudly and Hinata’s eyes open at that. She looks at him through a fog, a worried expression furrowing her brow as she reaches up with clammy hands to wipe away the tears gathering in his eyes.
“Don’t be sad.”
He grits his teeth, his jaw tensing with barely restrained fury and a tenderness that’s nearly unbearable as she worries for him.
“Who did this?” He says quietly, brushing trembling fingers against her forehead.
She winces, and closes her eyes. She is silent for a long while, before she looks at him again.
“I did.” She whispers, and she has the gall to look at him with broken pride.
He inhales sharply, and leans down to press his cool forehead against hers.
“You’re so stupid.”
She laughs bitterly.
“I know.”
He wants to say more, but he can’t. He’d promised that things would stay the same. This is as much as he will do.
Except maybe..
He pulls away, relieved that she’s awake. Furious that she would try and experiment with the seal on herself.
She seems to be drifting off into sleep again, too exhausted and hurt to do much else.
Before she does, he makes sure to tell her-
“The next time you need a guinea pig for this, use me.”
He thinks she’d protest quite loudly if she wasn’t ill, but as it is, she merely hums an inconclusive response. But he will make sure that means agreement once she’s well again.

The road to the tree house was a quiet one. This wasn’t the first time Kouga had traveled down the path; it was the easiest way to Inuyasha’s hill hut if one did not wish to cross over the hill. And while Kouga wasn’t commonly found at Inuyasha’s home, it also wasn’t uncommon either.

“What are you doing for Halloween?” Sango asked as they went through the seasonal aisles. Already, Sango had three lawn ornaments and half a dozen small decor items, all themed for the haunted house she threw every year. It may have only been the first week of October, but she was in high gear getting everything ready to open halfway through the month.

The fair was in full bloom as day bled into night. Dusk settled over and lanterns were lit, that small moment where everything was almost too bright to see. Lights glittered, people bustled down the street, conversations rose as the first night of the annual festival began. Kagome’s attention darted everywhere and to everything — except to the man ordering food at a street cart. She didn’t know he was there until she walked into him.

The sky was so clear in the feudal era. Kagome remembered all the different nights she’d spent in her sleeping bag looking at the stars, wishing she could stay up and watch them. Every time she went home, it was another jarring reminder of what all that smog and light pollution did to hide the sky — and what their fast paced traveling kept her from enjoying.

Night had fallen, stars were starting to twinkle in the sky, and the park was filled. The movie showing ended about twenty minutes before and the food trucks and carts were starting to pack up. Most people had already set out their blankets and chairs, but a restless buzz traveled through the crowd as they waited for the fireworks show to start.

The girl was there again, sitting on the bench. She was reading this time, pouring over a book on her lap that looked entirely too big for her body. She was alone, as she always was, but her eyes remained focused on the page. Usually, she was watching everyone walk by with a shy smile and sparkling eyes. Today, that cheerfulness she normally exuded was gone.

Day 16: At the Stroke of Midnight
She sniffled as she prepared their meager meal. The longer they evaded the ANBU team, the closer they were to catching them. The closer she was to returning to a life she longed to escape.
Despite her unusual captivity, she enjoyed her independence. But Hinata knew her freedom came at a cost.
Her eyes moved to the dark figure across from her. His peculiar generosity touched her. He wasn't obligated to help her. He could have let her fend for herself when they found out she was a missing-nin.
His eyes caught hers, and he gave her a small smile. Hinata's heart clenched and she swore she heard it break.
'I can't drag him into this.'

Sasuke noticed how her hands shook as she prepared their nightly tea.
"When did you get that?"
Hinata stilled. "A-ah, f-from the w-woman who c-called y-you m-my h-h-husband."
"Aa." A small smile graced his features.
They kept their eyes on each other, drinking their tea in silence.

A harsh pull on his hair jolted him awake.
"Ah, so the traitor lives." Sunlight blinded his vision. Sasuke cursed. He felt another sharp tug on his hair.
"Where's Hinata-sama?"
Sasuke smirked. 'Crafty woman.'

Hinata changed into a simple kimono, plain, pale, and floral, slipped her engagement ring back on her finger, and they were gone into the night.

Sasuke felt Naruto eyeing him as they waited. “You know I can’t do this if you don’t have the permission you say you have,” Naruto mentioned again.
Sasuke forced down the annoyance as his bride arrived with her arm linked with her sister’s. “I have the direct approval of the new Hyuga head,” Sasuke smirked at his soon-to-be sister-in-law, who drug Hinata to walk faster. The girls giggled as they sped up.
“That was today?” Naruto pondered with a growing grin. “I think that is cheating.”
“Call it that if you want, it’s legal.” Kakashi grinned at Sasuke as the women joined them.
Hanabi handed her over, and he slid his arm around his fiancé for the first time in months. She melted to his side and laid her head on him. “Ready?” Sasuke asked her.
Hinata smiled brightly. “Of course.”

4. Top Five by Kudos?
c'mon and get your kicks - SNS superhero AU ft. Sasuke's socially inept flirting and one of my favourite tropes - identity porn. Hand-written, typed and edited in a 10-hour daze.
Chameleon White - HSMD canon-divergent, time-travel fixit (sort of). Not sure why so many people read it, but I'm glad that it brought the readers some joy.
Of Monsters and Sleep - DenNor, Hetalia, written in 2013. Can only vaguely recollect the contents.
Simmer Down and Pucker Up - SNS spy AU ft. explosions, nipples, zombies and accidental honeypots. Marked my return to fanfic writing after a 7-year break.
For My Dreams (and a Pocketful of Gold) - Wolfstar superhero AU, written for R/S Small Gifts.
5. Do you respond to comments, why/why not?
I do if it's criticism, or if people have questions that won't be answered later on in the fic.
Otherwise, I don't. As much as I like praise and appreciation, it embarrasses me - both online and offline - and I never know how to react like a normal person since I wasn't socialised properly as a kid. I prefer to blush furiously in the safety of my room.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
There's a Naruto (SasuHina) fic I'd written back in high school. The angst is exactly as melodramatic and cringy as you'd expect coming from a 15 y.o. who's learning how to process their emotions. Otherwise, Chameleon White I guess? Not angsty per se, just a little sad.
7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?
Nope. Can't go through the mental gymnastics of making characters from different universes react, haha. But I like fics where the cast of series A lives in and follows the same rules as the universe of series B.
There's an SNS JJBA AU I fiddle with sometimes, titled Sasuke's Bizarre Adventure. It's basically a retelling of Stardust Crusaders, with Hashimada playing the role of Joseph (the weird and dramatic grandfathers), Orochimaru as Dio (thirsty for that Uchiha blood) and Itachi (parallel to Jonathan's body that Dio...commandeered) who Sasuke and co. set out to rescue.
8. Have you received hate on a fic?
Not on anything after I picked up writing again. People here are really kind! I did receive some hate on a Bleach fic on ff.net that I'd written in 2011/12, but I came across that comment 8 years after it was posted, so it was kinda funny. They were viciously sore about how the 2 characters did not end up together. Which is not really my problem because I never hinted at a romance??? Idk man, it confused me.
9. Do you write smut?
Writing smut is embarrassing, sorry. It's like eating food I made myself, as opposed to consuming food that someone else has made for you with quality ingredients, impeccable hygiene and passion.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope.
11. Ever had a fic translated?
Haha, nope.
12. Ever co-written a fic before?
*looks at my million WIPs* I have commitment issues.
13. All time favorite ship?
Well, wolfstar (Remus/Sirius from HP) is a ship that's endured for literal years. I'm a big fan of the best-friends-to-tragedies (with a healthy dose of betrayal) trope. Really goes through the full emotion spectrum. Which is why I like Hashimada and SNS too.
14. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?
Ahiṃsā, an Itachi & Sasuke-centric fic where after the massacre, Itachi runs away with Sasuke instead of running away to Akatsuki. It was going to based on some of the virtues of Hinduism & some other religions which developed in the same part of the world. Edo-tensei Madara would have made an appearance, and it would have been a fic about peace and brotherhood and family and the ties to your birthplace...but yeah. 😅
15. What are your writing strengths?
Conciseness (I say on the longest post I've ever made on this website).
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Also conciseness. I would love for my writing to be more descriptive, where I set up the ambience and emotions but it's really hard for me. If I try it, I end up hating it.
Also prepositions. Is it sitting in a chair or on a chair. Stuff like this just fucks me up.
17. What are your thoughts of writing dialogue in other languages?
Not a fan. Some commonly used terms are fine - like common jutsu names etc, but otherwise, it breaks the flow. I get that if you're reading a fic from a character's POV, the general practice is to write in another language if that character is as clueless as you, but I don't like it. I'd prefer if people wrote "kommaut alle woo" (pardon my French) instead of "comment allez-vous" so that I read it in the same way the character hears it, but that's just me haha. Writing stuff in different languages/scripts is fine if the character is reading text they don't understand.
18. First fandom you wrote for?
Bleach or Detective Conan. I'm too scared to go to my ff.net and find out.
19. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
I have a very hands-off approach with my fics. Once it's written, it's gone. I love the comments and kudos and bookmarks and feedback, but otherwise, it's not my problem. The author is dead, time to play with the next one. But the SNS spy AU kept me occupied the longest and gave me the freedom to write some really random shit, so. :')

Day 17: Never-ending Kisses (plus Day 15 and 13!)
Hi, y'all! I'm back from my short break! I had dental surgery and needed some time to heal. Here are three of the past SasuHina month days--Day 17 is a married SasuHina who can't help but be super lovey dovey and smoochy with each other. Day 15 is an Avatar crossover--Sasuke would be the perfect Zuko impersonator and I had to give Hinata a Kyoshi warrior look because they're so badass!! Day 13 is a headcanon where college student Sasuke accidentally crosses paths in a different universe with a princess from a long-ago dynasty. They both have to find their way back to their world--but they fall in love. 💗
