'one week' by barenaked ladies being perfect for a montage of the boys helping casey fix up the northampton farmhouse

'how's it going to be' by third eye blind is a perfect emo track for a quieter montage of raph wandering around the streets searching for splinter in lone raph and cub

'soul flower' by the pharcyde would be really fun for a rooftop training montage (so much better than 'runnin' free in nyc' even if there's no way it could ever play in a 4kids production 💀💀)

The funniest scene on glee for me was when Santana and Quinn were talking and Quinn was like "Its really time for you to get over this, you being jealous of me"

Why on earth would Santana ever be jealous of Quinn!!!

That's one way to approach it and so much shade at Quinn lmao. I mean, Santana is a deeply insecure person so she has a lot to be jealous about, actually.

But to me the point of the scene isn't that. And the comedy of it isn't about how right or not Quinn is, but that Santana is coming to her with a serious issue and Quinn is so blind she'd rather continue placing herself on the pedestal Kitty's been putting her on than not be self-absorbed for one second. Santana is basically saying, "hey I think this 15 year-old girl is developing an eating disorder and your mentee is actively encouraging it." To which Quinn says "well you're just a little BITCH who's always been jealous of me so time to grow UP 😜😆" And you as an audience member are like woah what the hell where did that come from also Quinn, girl, no.

considering making a post about how horatio is... used? accounted for? in the productions of r&g are dead that i've watched and listened to cause 3/4 (not counting the movie) have, as almost certainly unintentional consequences of their choices, gotten me thinking about that one post i made and frothing at the mouth a bit, in different ways

#not today cause i'm sleepy but. perhaps tomorrow (as a distraction from the work i actually have to do) #ragad #rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead #the ones i'm thinking of specifically are: #ntl (2017) having their horatio be double-cast as a silent extra in the background of some scenes with r&g talking to the king & queen #players' ring having the Player play horatio at the ending #and the 2007 radio drama having hamlet read out his letter to horatio during the pirate attack (to help explain what's happening) #but then cutting his lines at the end entirely #and ALSO cutting “he that thou knowest thine” from the letter. which... i'll save my thoughts for the post #UPDATE: i just looked on internet archive for the original radio play production from 1978 to see if it did the same as the 2007 one #and it basically does re: the letter #(including cutting ''he that thou knowest thine'' - though i think now i get why (why in the not brain-rotty sense that is)) #but it does basically the whole ending bit of hamlet starting from some of the prince's last lines #so horatio does get to be the one who closes it out #i doubt he shows up any earlier - based on the credits he's not doubled with anyone - and i'm not checking to find out

for the fic writing ask game, i'd say you're really strong in setting a tone (i.e. if there's a scene with a forced-casual feeling that has undertones of creeping dread, you do an excellent job setting it up and executing it!), and generally creating a compelling story!

Thank you!! Description and the pacing/flow of a scene are two of my most very favourite things to write, I'm glad I pull it off well as well as enjoying doing it

#ask #ask game #you know what actually the 'creeping dread' thing is hands down the most common example people give lol #I was just hearing from someone else today about a non-hermit thing i wrote that did that to them #idk why it comes so easy to me to know how to order things to create a Gaping Pit in people's chests but it is quite fun :) #i wish i could break down how i do it but i really cannot #except for maybe. always lead with a detail and not the cause of it? #the smaller and more unnerving the better #for example from earlier today #(tw blood description) #why say ''they saw a lot of blood in the room'' when you could say #''the hairs on the back of their neck stand up before they even round the corner'' #''later they might realize that it was the smell that did it'' #and THEN describe the blood #you're making the reader feel the effects of the unsettling before the absorb the cause #just like the character in the scene is experiencing it in a similar way #by delaying the answers and focusing on the senses it creates The Dread #....I don't know when this turned into writing tips with Shade #i may or may not be a little bit sleepy rambling #and also enjoying recently getting more comfortable with writing again

#i had the most baffling run-in at the pharmacy earlier today and in the moment it was just vexing but thinking back now i'm just speechless #basically took my mom to the doctor and she got a couple drug prescriptions ~ about 10 and i had to get to the pharmacy before it closes #and there were two people stood in front of it just talking among each other while i read the pharmacy's corona rules and they didn't talk #to me so i assumed they were just hanging out and walked past them and tried to enter the pharmacy BUT the lady instantly went eXcUsE mE wE #WeRe hErE FiRsT gO bAcK tO ThE eNd Of tHe LiNe #the line being those two stood across from each other gossiping #anyway w/e i'm not a local i was on a medication/ disability aids run across two villages and three towns and maybe i just misunderstood #their corona rules and people have to wait outside or whatever so i apologised and waited there with them and once the pharmacy cleared out #we all went in there together #wanna know what she went in there for? cosmetic moisturiser. self-tanning. and the pharmacy didn't have the brand she likes so she left #without buying anything #meanwhile i was waiting about 20 minutes behind her in line holding those ten prescriptions clearly visible in my hands #with my mom fresh out of rehab and hooked up to an oxygen tank waiting in the car #self-tanning moisturiser. at the pharmacy. making a scene coz i dared to walk past her into the building. the vanity. the egotism.
