Sumire raised an eyebrow when certain blue-haired girl asked for enters to the basis with a shy blush despite her normally outgoing and joy (and psychotic) personality

Kururi saw throught the basis until she noticed certain mascared guy,the serial killer/arosnist has a shy smile when she approached to Trickster who looked at his rival/ partner-in-crime a bit,mainly due to the gifts that she gave him

A box of fireworks and a dark chocolate bar

Kururi raised her yellow eyes that strangely had a glow of fun and ¿Affection?

"...you will be my valentine, Trickster?"-she asked,her voice affectionate and shy (trying to ignore the strongs beats on her chest...and the rest of scorpion den)

“…What—“

“HUH?!”

“Ain’t no fucking way.”

“Oh my~”

“HAHAHAHAHA—“

Ignoring his best friends/family who were all exclaiming their own calls of shock and disbelief over Trickster receiving not only a valentines gift but a confession on top of that too. They weren’t the only ones surprised, Trickster was in shock too as it was conveyed on his mask, two big LED Os staring dead at Kururi and the gifts she held in her hands.

It was weird, romance was never a thought for the arsonist, there was lust but even Trickster knew that that was a completely different thing than love. Sure, he flirted with various members of Scorpion Den and even their enemies but the most that came from that was just a simple hook up. No strings attached and no love.

"For fuck's sake, Trick, say something already!"

"Now now, Sumire, at least allow the time to process this, I think our dear Trickster is in shock."

"Imagine what we're feeling right now."

"How the FUCK am I still single when even Trickster can get a date?!"

"T-there, there, Janine..."

Snapping out of his thoughts, Trickster scratched the back of his head, careful not to jostle his mask and blinked once, twice, three times before shrugging. "Uh...yeah, sure. Thanks Kururi, this is real sweet of ya, if ya want, I know place where we can set these babies off, if ya willing to join me." (^ . ^)

Note

There are three gifts addressed to the Monarch of Minato, Queen Card herself.

The first gift was a ruby red apple drizzled in what looked to be a delectable sugar sauce. However, the way it dripped off the fruit made it look eerily similar to that from a well known fairytale. Alongside it was a small vial containing a mysterious crimson liquid and a small note reading, 'The apple is completely safe but do not drink from the vial.'

The second gift was quite heavy and revealed to be a gauntlet of some kind with a harpoon like device attached to it.

The third and final gift was also quite heavy and revealed to be yet another gauntlet, this time with a small circular shield built into it. Both gauntlets looked to be brand new and of high quality.

Finally, there was a simple yet elegant looking card with writing which said.

'To Her Majesty, The Queen.

Happy Birthday

- From The Scorpions.'

So it would seem that these were not crafted by who I thought they would be…

They are certainly too flashy to be anything close to the other items I’ve collected from…

A shame, it is…

Though incredibly reassuring.

She sat herself on the couch in her office. She propped her arms up on the back pillows. With a tired sigh, she leaned far back into the velvet pillows and tilted her head all the way back.

I must thank you for reaching out to me first, Scorpion Den.

You may not be the ones I am after…

But while I am here as a detective and criminologist, you may just give me the publicity… just another step that will bring me closer to my goals.

She tilted her head to the side, eyeing the security camera in the corner of her office.

With a huff, she sat up straight and stared at the goodies that “The Scorpions” had gifted her.

“Perhaps these gauntlets would make for a splendid prop in the performances to come… perhaps a show with higher stakes.”

She reached for the candy apple, the dark red contrasting against the colors of her slender fingers, making her snow-white skin appear even lighter in color.

Though there is an offer for the lot of you that I possess.

She spun the apple around, admiring the presentation.

An offer that the lot of you cannot resist.

She brought the apple to her mulberry lips, giving it a light kiss.

However…

She bit into the fruit.

Time will only tell if I will even have a need for any of you.

I've fallen back into a wings of fire kick so I thought I'd mention that while reading the books growing up I imagined the Scorpion Den to be inside a giant dragon skull.

Where did it come from? Who's was it? Where's the rest? No clue. I love giant skulls being repurposed into shelters. The dead being remembered and somewhat honored in strange ways. It's cool and awesome.

Same Au as the other one, mostly because I like it a lot. Thorn raises Beetle (Sunny) to take over the Scorpion Den some day. Beetle retains Sunny's kindness and caring personality. However, she is much quicker to speak her mind and will not think twice about putting someone in their place. She got the scar on her eye protecting a younger dragonet from bullies. Thorn was so proud. Basically the same Sunny, but now more assertive. I go back and forth about whether she would wear a really cool golden tail barb dipped in poison. Because it would look sweet, but I think not having a tail barb and not needing one and not wanting one is a big part of Sunny that I don't want to get rid of.

Thoughts on Thorn?

First off: sorry for the delay, this was sent to me during my drunk "send me opinions" moment but I only saw it when I woke up and was. very hungover and embarrassed lol. Will try to live up to the original idea tho (plus I am like 3 shots in so you did get your wish in the end !!)

ANYWAY. I really like Thorn. I wish we saw more of her being the leader of the Scorpion Den and what her actual life looks like bc rn it feels like she's become basically Sunny and Qibli's loving mom who all but shows up with cookies for them and their friends when she gets screentime. I think a lot of fandom oscillates between ignoring her and trying to pin some hypocrisy or villain arc on her bc she killed Preyhunter, which. btw. I do have an ancient draft about when I was rereading Sunny's book and taking semi-annotated notes. It's ruthless, but it's not the unwarranted murder people want it to be- she has no reason to trust the Nightwings and Preyhunter opens the convo being rude and challenging her. It's definitely there just as a fakeout to make you think Thorn is Bad News so the parent reveal is more shocking, but I think it shows a really cool and cunning side of her that I wish got more screentime.

Her and Stonemover are also one of my favorite side pairings in the series, not in that they could ever be together again but like. c'mon now. I'm a good sucker for a self made tragedy. I do genuinely believe they could've stayed together forever/become a truly happy couple if Stonemover didn't get in his own head and fall prey to the narrative about animuses and the Nightwing superiority complex. I find the way he describes her as "straight out of his favorite scrolls" as genuinely really romantic, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE m/f pairings where the girl is the headstrong, ruthless one and the boy is a flustered, hopeless romantic who wants to be her pet impress her and win her over. They have some really fun gender fuckery in their relationship and I think it's a missed opportunity to discuss wof's inverted gender roles, what with Queens being the standard. I like to hope they could (platonically) co-parent Sunny after some hard, necessary conversations, but Stonemover is really the big problem in that reconciliation because he's so stuck (ha) in his self-loathing and regret.

I think Thorn is a great side character, and I don't need her to be anything more than that. I would LOVE a winglet or smth like that about her time with Stonemover, but I feel like after the dynamic I've built in my head it would let me down. I think Stonemover should be a boygirl and just a little trans and Thorn should be a butch she/he lesbian but that's my own brand of interest.

tl;dr: that woman is so queer and so cool 2 me <3. I wish she wasn't shoehorned into a relationship w Smoulder since it feels like it was just added because Tui didn't want her "to be stuck as single forever" which is a lame way to approach a woman who absolutely did meet the love of her life and it just. didn't work out. I wish we let stories like that sit a little longer and showed her being happy with her found family of the Scorpion's Den pursuing casual relationships maybe but being happy with the life she's built that's filled with love from so many different places.

i am rereading a bunch of the arc 2 books (super bored) and honestly..why does NOBODY ever draw the side characters from these...like onyx, sirocco and rattlesnake, vulture, cobra, TYPHOON...... liosten to me
