Yandere!Joseph Seed Headcanons

Type: General Headcanons Characters: Joseph Seed x Reader (afab) Word count: 700+ Notes: Manipulation, coercion, isolation, captivity, emotional abuse, forced proximity, obsessive behavior, unhealthy relationship dynamics, brief mention of suicide possibility, implied possibility of pregnancy.

- Joseph is calm, patient, and calculating with you. He won't rush into things or make impulsive decisions. As someone who is skilled at manipulation, he understands the necessity of waiting (and patience is a virtue). He is persistent and determined, but in a very quiet and measured way, like a rock steadily going down the hill.

- Joseph sees you as his ultimate test of faith and a reward shall he pass it. The Voice told him, he saw it in his dreams, every little sign points to you being the one he was meant to find. And once Joseph decides on something, he won't change his mind. No matter what you do, no matter how much you try to run or hide, Joseph will find you and bring you home.

- He wins your affection through misplaced empathy, touch (because there's no shame in closeness), and by simply being there whenever you need it - even if sometimes you wish he wasn't.

- Joseph views your reluctance as the result of Pride speaking in you and a part of his own trial. And trials exist to be overcome.

- Joseph knows people. He can read them, hopes and fears, weaknesses and strengths, virtues and vices, what they love and hate. He utilizes it with you, observes your habits and behavioral patterns. Joseph doesn't force - he nudges and encourages, planting the seeds and hints in your head and letting them grow; he manipulates you by making you come to desired conclusions on your own.

- If you're stubborn, Joseph will deprive you of sleep, but in a way that seems natural (there's suddenly a lot of work he needs your help with or he keeps you awake longer and wakes you up earlier, because this and that). He will increase the time of his lectures or restrict access to certain areas until you waver. The book you're reading will disappear and he has no idea where it is, etc.

- However, don't think Joseph is passive. Yes, he prefers a gentler approach with you, but understands the necessity of harsher methods too. Even God has to punish his children, after all, and it's always for their sake. If you push him too much (and it takes a lot to achieve that), he will "teach you humility" and his methods are often connected to the feeling of shame. He may restrain you and make you ask for basic needs like food, toilet or water; lock you up in an empty room without sustenance for a few days and sit by your door, reading the Bible aloud; wash you/feed you himself, denying you autonomy. If looks is something you value about yourself, he might cut your hair short. Making you watch as he burns something you cherish is also not off the table. He will not beat you, but if having your buttocks smacked will get the point across and make you feel ashamed, then Joseph will do it.

- Hurting you, however, doesn't give him pleasure and he will later spend the hours in prayer asking God for forgiveness for his temper, even if that was necessary. He won't be apologetic towards you, but later when you've both calmed down he will console you and provide whatever comfort you need: a hug, a touch (which feels increasingly familiar), stroking your hair and telling you a biblical story as an analogy for your behavior.

- It's Joseph's responsibility to protect you from yourself and guide you on the right path, because you're lost and confused in his mind. There's only one truth - Eden's Gate - and he will do his best to save your soul before it's too late.

- If it's the Bunker, you're sharing a bed, period. Joseph isn't letting you out of his sight and will be sleeping next to you. He can't risk you offing yourself and leaving him alone.

- If it's somewhere else, like the compound or wherever he keeps you, you will have your own room if he trusts you enough. Your room will have its own bathroom and Joseph won't be intruding, unless you give him a reason to. He'll grant you permission to move freely within the compound, but two faithful will always follow behind.

- Joseph doesn't force himself on you, though he'll take any opportunity to initiate physical contact. Taking your hands in his, kissing your forehead, loosely putting an arm around your waist. He watches how you react, whether you're leaning in or pulling away. If the latter is the case, he'll be more subtle, but won't stop.

- Joseph wants a family with you. A future together after the Collapse.

☔Is there a fic concept you have that you'd like to just explain and share because you're not sure you'll ever write it? If so, what is it?

I want to write a te'ijalahad Lady of Shalott AU sooo bad. Te'ijal as the Lady of Shalott - trapped away from the world, "half sick of shadows", fascinated by the world outside her tower - especially as interpreted in Shalott by Emilie Autumn (in love with Lancelot, a man she's never met, because of what he represents to her of the outside world, desperate and jealous of the people whose lives she weaves) - is just. it's a really good AU tagging to me. I feel like it digs into the heart of a lot of my headcanons of her thoughts on humanity and why she gets as invested in Galahad as she does, but without the autonomy and strength she has a vampire to offset those feelings, so way more tragic.

Also Aveyond Galahad in the role of Arthurian Lancelot is inherently funny to me.

Buuut it's very out of my comfort zone writing-wise, and I kind of hate the recurring motif "oh no, a woman has died from her unrequited love for Lancelot!" in the Arthuriana I've read and I feel weird copying it wholesale so I essentially have no idea how I'd end it.

Book 7) Sherlock Holmes and the Ghosts of Bly: And Other New Adventures of the Great Detective (Lost Sherlock #5) by Donald Serrell Thomas, John Telfer (Reading)

Thoughts:

Firstly why there's a Lady of Shalott type picture on this I shall never know XD

Really liked the Bly one. I accept it as headcanon as a continuation of Turn of the Screw (which was a bit lacking as an original short story). I felt like parts of it were moving into the territory of the Netflix show so I wonder whether some of those little hints were taken by Mike Flanagan for the show Haunting of Bly Manor or whether it was a coincidence... I made a prediction at one point about 2 people which ended up being incorrect but I was still fine with the revelations made proving me wrong.

A lot of other reviewers are saying that these stories were too long. I liked the title story's length although agree that a chase scene at the end was kinda dramatic in the way that people in the story were like "Sherlock coulda been shot that man was so good at shooting we have to save Sherlock!" and I'm like...the first bullet missed. Sherlock was not incapacitated himself so he coulda moved out the way. Calm yo-selves.

The last mystery (agreed with others online) had a number of people introduced and wrapped up fairly quickly so pacing felt off. Also the intro to the eventually murdered man seemed...silly? I realize it was so that we understood Holmes' role in the past on the stage with this guy and how this guy is personality-wise but also kinda lengthy and unnecessary...

First mystery at first I didn't care much about then felt yes conspiracy. But I must remark this (as I did when reading): I can't understand why certain mysteries are hinged on the fact that the person involved who is falsely accused of something withholds all information and then at the end admits to it all that they were a victim.

We should be able to have a story without one person holding all their cards to their chest in order that Sherlock (or any detective) solves it all and comes to that person like "you lied tell us the truth" like you would go look at the 3 cards in the envelope in Clue the board game XD

Cause of death: Consumption

Are they in Button House, or a different location? Button House, she was sent to live with her Aunt Fanny so that she might recover with the countryside air, but died her first week there.

What are their thoughts on the ghosts there?

Pat: She adores Pat and sees him as a father figure

Thomas: Her and Thomas have a sibling type relationship, they bicker a lot but never seriously. She has a imaginative side which let’s them bond creatively. She also shouts at him for being ungentlemanly when he tries to flirt/come onto women.

Fanny: She was related to Fanny on her mother’s side but never really knew her aunt due to an argument between Fanny and her mother before she was born. When she became ill though Fanny offered her a place to stay in the countryside so that she could recover and get to know her more but she died before she was able to build a relationship with her. They have gotten to know each other more in the afterlife, and Lizzie was the first person Fanny saw after her death. They have a mother/daughter type relationship.

The Captain: She is a little scared of the Captain’s stern demeanor, but after knowing him for 80 years, they have a familial relationship. 

Kitty: She would consider Kitty to be her closest friend. They are kindred spirits. They are both naive and died before they experienced life fully so they usually bring out the most childish, giggly sides of the other.

Robin: Lizzie and Robin have a somewhat strange relationship where they do not often talk but when words are needed, they both know what needs to be said. 

Mary: She sometimes find Mary a little simple but she enjoys teaching her to read and when she’s in a mood to make mischief, Mary is her first port of call. 

Julian: She is quite shy around Julian as she doesn’t understand all his jokes, and often just smiles and nods when he goes off on his political speech tangents. 

Humphrey: She still jumps at the sight of Humphrey’s head being left alone in a room, but she usually makes it her mission to reunite him with his body, only to find his body has abandoned him within the hour. She talks a little too much for Humphrey’s liking though.

The Plague Ghosts: Very scared of them. Tries to see them as little as possible, but her personality as a people-pleaser and as someone who is naturally friendly she doesn’t let it slip that she finds them scary if she is in a room with them.

Jemima (the little girl): Jemima reminds her of her little sister Louisa who stayed back in London when she was sent to live with Aunt Fanny. Lizzie has always felt sad that she never got to say goodbye, so she always makes an extra effort to get to know Jemima - despite Jemima’s protests. 

Do they have any special ghost powers? She can touch/interact (to the extent that normal ghosts can) with living beings without the side effects. This is normally felt by the living as when she touches them, they feel a brief, inexplicable sense of joy, the joy felt on special events, or by being around loved ones.

If they could be seen by a living human, what would their response be? Concern as she still looks the same as she did when she died. She has sunken but luminous eyes, pallid skin, and she still coughs up blood like she did when she was ill.

 She would like to be a Rachel but the other ghosts all insist she’s a Phoebe, which she’s secretly agrees with.

Other Headcanons: She is very sensitive and empathetic, she finds joy in being able to listen and help others. That being said, she is known for being the over-emotional mess who will cry at the smallest thing - whether she is happy or sad. She is bisexual, but has a preference for men - she has a bit of a crush on Alison at first though, which she gets over as she sees her like a big sister. She also loves hanging around Mike as she finds him funny and she always laughs at his jokes. She grew up in between Middle Class and Upper Class. Her mother and Fanny had fallen out of her mother eloping with her father. Her grandfather eventually came around to the idea after she was born and he provided a small allowance for them, but her father became a successful business man in London which also provided them with a good income. She grew up being educated by tutors as her mother believed in women’s education, and she excelled in History and English. She loved to read while she was alive, and was a big fan of Alfred, Lord Tennyson - Lady of Shalott being her favourite poem. While she is 21, she always kept her sense of childlike wonder and her love of romance.

Once again the world greatest’s superhero’s birthday is approaching and Stand With Quake wants to celebrate it with all of you Daisy stans. As for the rules, they are more or less the same as last time:

All fanworks are welcome - gifsets, edits, fanfic, fanart, meta, fanvids, fanmixes, and everything in between.

Daisy Johnson must be the focus of the fanworks.

No shipping. Stand With Quake is a shipping-free blog and the point of this event is to create more content focusing on Daisy, not on her romances, canon or fanon. There is not enough Daisy gen fic or graphics focusing on her out there.

No Daisy Hate, seriously, we mean it, no passive-aggressive stuff or straight up hate for the character will be reblogged.

No Daisy Hate also means that if you are a Skyeward shipper or have loads of Skyeward content in your blog from after season 1 we won’t reblog any stuff you make, sorry, this blog was created as a Skyeward-free space for people to feel safe celebrating Skye/Daisy. Same if you are “neutral” or have posted about Skyeward being acceptable. Skyeward is Daisy Hate.

No Daisy Hate also means no Leo Fitz apologism. There’s enough of that crap out there, including the canon. Here we stand with Daisy and not with her abusers.

i have a bunch of thoughts and headcanons about various elements of the poem, and we’ll for sure get into those later, but what’s interesting to me right now is the “there she weaves by night and day/a magic web of colors gay” and “a curse is on her if she stay / to look down on camelot” because i mean...i feel as though most people would think she’s legitimately weaving 100% of the time, but?? girl still needs to eat and sleep, you know? her hands would just about fall off if she could NEVER STOP weaving. she definitely gets started quite early in the morning and doesn’t finish her day until quite late at night, long after the other lights in shalott have long gone out. but because the curse can apparently only come upon her if she stops in order to look out to camelot, she’s still able to move within her home. she and a couple of loyal servants are the only ones who live there - - her family left long ago, after the curse settled, after boarding up the windows in all but elaine’s chamber. she can move within the enclosure of those walls, between rooms, even into a walled courtyard bursting with trees and flowers, but surrounded on all sides by high, sheer stone she cannot see over.
