🟣🟣🌸🌸🟡🟡🌸🌸🟣🟣 AN AMAZING AUSPICIOUS BEAUTIFUL DEVIMAA 🌺🌺🌺from @vishvrajsinh_the_artist • . ༺।। श्रीविद्या ।।༻ ꧁𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢꧂ Śrī Balā Tripurasundarī is a child form of the Devī.She is Non Different from Śrī Lalita Mahātripurasundarī herself. She is seen with four hands holding an akshamālā, pustaka, abhaya and varadam. Her Vāhana is a swan (Hamsa) and is the representation of complete knowledge and wisdom. She is Gurumaṇḍaḷa rūpiṇī. Bala = Guru"....... Context? She is the one who resides in the Guru sthana in one's body. She is the intuitive power behind every Siddha. It is because of her that the line of siddhas starting from Shree Agastya himself had direct connections with the divine. But in today's world, she is underestimated. People yearn to go to the next stage without properly propitiating her. Shree Dakshinaamoorti's gurumaataa was Shree Bala Tripurasundari who later gave herself to Shree Dakshinaamoorti, in the form of Shree Tripurabhairavi, as his consort after eons of worshipping her. Hence she is the very embodiment of Guru Tattva. She is gurumandala all in all. Let us remember her through a verse : हे देवी गुरुरूपिणी शुभकरी कन्यास्वरूपे परे हे बाले ललिते बदरीशवन्दितपदे हे भैरवी मोक्षदे । हे सौम्ये वरदाभये शिवनुते रक्ताम्बरालंकृते श्रीविद्ये करपुस्तके सुखकरी माम् पातु पूर्णे सदा || Verses written by @kayceevee_19 #srividya #devi #ammavaru #manidweepam #shaktism #parabramha #shakta #srikulim #srimata #shodashi #mataji #sripuram #art #balatripurasundari #bala #bhuvaneshwari #srichakra #artistoninstagram #bahucharaji #bhuvaneshvari #lalita #kanchipuram #balambika #instaart #shreevidya #srividyaseries #vishvrajsinhtheartist #digitalart #indianculture #shreevidyaseries https://www.instagram.com/p/CpCHTpBuHxx/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The Mahavidya (Sanskrit: महाविद्या, IAST: Mahāvidyā, lit. Great Wisdoms) are a group of ten Hindu[1] Tantric goddesses.[2] The 10 Mahavidyas are usually named in the following sequence: Kali, Tara, Tripura Sundari, Bhuvaneshvari, Bhairavi , Chhinnamasta, Dhumavati, Bagalamukhi, Matangi and Kamala.[3] Nevertheless, the formation of this group encompass divergent and varied religious traditions that include yogini worship, Saivism, Vaishnavism, and Vajrayana Buddhism.[4]
Tumblr media
Shaktas believe, "the one Truth is sensed in ten different facets; the Divine Mother is adored and approached as ten cosmic personalities," the Dasa-Mahavidya ("ten-Mahavidyas").[6] As per another school of thought in Shaktism Mahavidyas are considered to be form of Mahakali. The Mahavidyas are considered Tantric in nature, and are usually identified as:[7
Tumblr media
1. Kali: The goddess who is the ultimate form of Brahman, and the devourer of time (Supreme Deity of Kalikula systems). Mahakali is of a pitch black complexion, darker than the dark of the dead of the night. She has three eyes, representing the past, present and future. She has shining white, fang-like teeth, a gaping mouth, and her red, bloody tongue hanging from there. She has unbound, disheveled hairs. She wears tiger skins as her garments, a garland of skulls and a garland of rosy red flowers around her neck, and on her belt, she was adorned with skeletal bones, skeletal hands as well as severed arms and hands as her ornamentation. She has four hands, two of them had the trident called the trishula and the sword and two others carried a demon head and a bowl collecting the blood dripping from a demon head.
2. Tara: The goddess who acts as a guide and a protector, and she who offers the ultimate knowledge that grants salvation. She is the goddess of all sources of energy. The energy of the sun is believed to originate from her. She manifested as the mother of Shiva after the incident of Samudra Manthana to heal him as her child. Tara is of a light blue complexion. She has disheveled hair, wearing a crown decorated with the digit of the half-moon. She has three eyes, a snake coiled comfortably around her throat, wearing the skins of tigers, and a garland of skulls. She is also seen wearing a belt supporting her skirt made of tiger-skin. Her four hands carry a lotus, scimitar, demon head and scissors. Her left foot rests on the laying down Shiva.
3. Tripura Sundari (Shodashi, Lalita): The goddess who is "beauty of the three worlds" (Supreme Deity of Srikula systems); the "Tantric Parvati" or the "Moksha Mukta". She is the ruler of Manidvipa, the eternal supreme abode of the goddess. Shodashi is seen with a molten gold complexion, three placid eyes, a calm mien, wearing red and pink vestments, adorned with ornaments on her divine limbs and four hands, each holding a goad, lotus, a bow, and arrow. She is seated on a throne.
4. Bhuvaneshvari: The goddess as the world mother, or whose body comprises all the fourteen lokas of the cosmos. Bhuvaneshvari is of a fair, golden complexion, with three content eyes as well as a calm mien. She wears red and yellow garments, decorated with ornaments on her limbs and has four hands. Two of her four hands hold a goad and noose while her other two hands are open. She is seated on a divine, celestial throne.
5. Bhairavi:  The fierce goddess. The female version of Bhairava. Bhairavi is of a fiery, volcanic red complexion, with three furious eyes, and disheveled hair. Her hair is matted, tied up in a bun, decorated by a crescent moon as well as adorning two horns, one sticking out from each side. She has two protruding tusks from the ends of her bloody mouth. She wears red and blue garments and is adorned with a garland of skulls around her neck. She also wears a belt decorated with severed hands and bones attached to it. She is also decked with snakes and serpents too as her ornamentation – rarely is she seen wearing any jewelry on her limbs. Of her four hands, two are open and two hold a rosary and book.
6. Chhinnamasta: The self-decapitated goddess. She chopped her own head off in order to satisfy Jaya and Vijaya (metaphors of rajas and tamas - part of the trigunas). Chinnamasta has a red complexion, embodied with a frightful appearance. She has disheveled hair. She has four hands, two of which hold a sword and another hand holding her own severed head; three blazing eyes with a frightful mien, wearing a crown. Two of her other hands hold a lasso and drinking bowl. She is a partially clothed lady, adorned with ornaments on her limbs and wearing a garland of skulls on her body. She is mounted upon the back of a copulating couple.
7. Dhumavati: The widow goddess. Dhumavati is of a smoky dark brown complexion, her skin is wrinkled, her mouth is dry, some of her teeth have fallen out, her long disheveled hair is gray, her eyes are seen as bloodshot and she has a frightening mien, which is seen as a combined source of anger, misery, fear, exhaustion, restlessness, constant hunger and thirst. She wears white clothes, donned in the attire of a widow. She is sitting in a horseless chariot as her vehicle of transportation and on top of the chariot, there is an emblem of a crow as well as a banner. She has two trembling hands, her one hand bestows boons and/or knowledge and the other holds a winnowing basket.
8. Bagalamukhi: The goddess who paralyzes enemies. Bagalamukhi has a molten gold complexion with three bright eyes, lush black hair and a benign mien. She is seen wearing yellow garments and apparel. She is decked with yellow ornaments on her limbs. Her two hands hold a mace or club and holds demon Madanasura by the tongue to keep him at bay. She is shown seated on either a throne or on the back of a crane.
9. Matangi: The Prime Minister of Lalita (in Srikula systems), sometimes called the "Tantric Saraswati". Matangi is depicted as emerald green in complexion, with lush, disheveled black hair, three placid eyes and a calm look on her face. She is seen wearing red garments and apparel, bedecked with various ornaments all over her delicate limbs. She is seated on a royal throne and she has four hands, three of which hold a sword or scimitar, a skull and a veena (a musical instrument). Her one hand bestows boons to her devotees.
10. Kamalatmika (Kamala): The lotus goddess; sometimes called the "Tantric Lakshmi". Kamala is of a molten gold complexion with lush black hair, three bright, placid eyes, and a benevolent expression. She is seen wearing red and pink garments and apparel and bedecked with various ornaments and lotuses all over her limbs. She is seated on a fully bloomed lotus, while with her four hands, two hold lotuses while two grant her devotees' wishes and assures protection from fear.
All these Mahavidyas reside in Manidvipa.
The Mahabhagavata Purana and Brihaddharma Purana however, list Shodashi (Sodasi) as Tripura Sundari, which is simply another name for the same goddess.[9] The Guhyati guyha-tantra associates the Mahavidyas with the Dashavatara, the tenavatars of Vishnu, and states that the Mahavidyas are the source from which the avatars of Vishnu arise.

Worshipping the Yoni🐉
No sentient being arrives on Earth except through the gate of the yoni, (which is the symbol of Bharani nakshatra, & ruled by the God of death and dharma, Yama). The average man then spends his life in pursuit of the "little deaths" (orgasms) of the sacrifice of his life-force back within it. The function of the Yoni is inherently vampiric, and this is described in detail in Hindu Tantra
👅 The Yoni has the power to cause men to discharge their most precious commodity, which is their Yang energy, for difficult to understand reasons based around pleasure. This relates to why it is Yama who takes away the soul of a person who is on the verge of death.
🔱 The Yoni grabs hold of the vital air in a man's heart (just as occurs during the time of his death) and causes him to ejaculate. This places him under the power of Kali (time) and Bhairavi (decay), and eventually he is drained of his bodily vigor altogether and thus death (yoni) pulls him into a womb and he is born again.
🔱 It is generally understood that the Dhuni or fire pit of the spiritual practitioner is a Yoni, and the ghee is analogous to semen which is offered into it. The lifeforce of men is offered into the yoni of women.
🔱 Women are the consumers of the sacrifice-- analogous to fire-- and men are the sacrifice consumed by the fire, and this is generally understood by those who are familiar with the spiritual aspect of sexuality. However we find that around and within the yoni dwell all forms of the Goddess— wrathful and gentle, creative and reductive.
👅👅👅👅👅👅👅👅👅👅👅
For the virile man, however, it is only his weaknesses that “dies” at the yoni gate with these Goddesses who shape and strengthen him, and when he enters the warmth inside, the fierce forms have become the juicy & nourishing Goddesses Mahalakshmi, Shodashi, and Bhuvaneshwari, who seek to take his sacred energy & multiply and amplify it into new forms.
They embody elements of the reward and fruit that follows the challenges he has overcome, and burning catabolism he has endured to annihilate his impurities.
Despite more light being shed on it recently, throughout time it has been common that the majority of men are overcome by women, and only few in society attain their adoration and true respect.
🔱 These contemplations regarding the yoni & yama let us understand that a man who can “conquer” the external woman and gain total control over his internal feminine counterpart (The anima) goes beyond death, through transcending time and decay, as these are illusions, just as women and Maya themselves are explained to be in scripture.
🔱Another term for the yoni is "bhaga", meaning wealth and prosperity, and the yoni in its outwardly vampiric and catabolic form, transforms later into the holder of sacred virile energy & giver of these blessings for the worthy.
Whenever one does penance, it is the cosmic force of the yoni that ensures that you get back what you give in a new and radiant form.
🔱 This is why there really is no in-between & the Goddess flickers into different manifestations as an automatic response to the man; a man is either an offering to the Goddess or an accomplished practitioner of Veer Sadhana.
🔱 He is virile and pleases women around him, or is naturally conquered & destroyed by them. To the worthy man, the abundant Goddesses ooze and flow with joy as he approaches the Yoni, and welcomes him in. To the unworthy, the testing Goddesses tighten and restrict and scorn him as he approaches.
🔱🔴🩸🪭👅
The Shakti power of Bharani nakshatra is to remove impurity, and essentially only those who are impure are subject to the yoni's negative influence.
The most pure-minded men are often exclusively devoted to worshiping the Yoni, and this is described in detail in the Yoni tantra itself. Yama is the God of Dharma, which is the cosmic order, and in truth any and all fruits from a spiritual discipline are dispensed by him. The Law of Dharma is that the energy we expend in worship, we receive back from what we worship.
This is one reason why the Yoni Tantra states that: "All worship is pointless without worship of the Yoni... What use are meditations, reciting mantras, giving gifts or Kaula nectars? O Durga, without yoni worship, all are fruitless."

Lalitha Sahasranamam is a sacred hymn consisting of 1000 names of the Hindu goddess Lalitha, also known as Tripura Sundari or Shodashi. This hymn is considered to be one of the most powerful and effective ways to worship and connect with the divine energy of the goddess.
The Lalitha Sahasranamam has its origins in the ancient Hindu scriptures known as the Puranas. According to legend, the hymn was revealed by Lord Hayagriva, a horse-headed incarnation of Lord Vishnu, to the great sage Agastya.

Matangi is one of the ten Mahavidyas - the others are Kali, Tara, Shodashi, Bhuvaneshwari, Bhairavi, Chinnamasta, Kamala, Dhumavati and Bagla Mukhi. The Mahavidyas represent some or other incarnation or manifestation of the Divine Mother. They are in this sense also to be regarded as Vidyas or different approaches to (tantric) knowledge. Matangi resides in the throat chakra and is radiant like the Moon. Matangi is an adviser of Tripur Sundari and het worship leads the aspirant to Tripur Sundari. Matangi is invoked to achieve command over speech, creativity and knowledge, among others.

Who is Goddess Tripuraa Sundari?
Tripuraa Sundari, also known as Raajaraajeshwari, Shodashi, Kaamaakshi and Lalita is a Hindu Goddess, worshipped as a principal aspect of supreme goddess Maahaadevi mainly venerated in Shaktism, the goddess-oriented sect of Hinduism. The word Tripuraa means three cities, Sundari means Beautiful Woman. Tripuraa Sundari means the beautiful woman in the three cities. She is called Tripuraa because it is similar to the triangle that symbolizes the yoni and forms her circle. She is also the third one of the prominent Maahaavidyaa’s.             She is glorified in many Shakta texts, with Lalita Sahasranaama, Soundarya Lahari being the most popular one. She is known as Aadi Paarashakti in Lalitopakhyana of Brahmanda Puraana.       Tripuraa Sundari is the foremost of the Maahaavidyas, the supreme divinity of Hinduism and also the primary Goddess of Sri Vidyaa. The Tripuraa Upanishad places her as the ultimate Shakti (energy, power) of the Universe. The Vaamakeshvara Tantra says that Tripuraa Sundari dwells on the peaks of the Himalayas; is worshipped by the Sages and Heavenly Nymphs; has a body like pure crystal; wears a tiger skin, a snake as a garland around her neck and her hair tied in a Jataa; holds a trident and drum; is decorated with jewels, flowers and ashes; and has a large bull as a vehicle. Her name means that she is the Goddess who is eternally 16 years old. She is believed to embody sixteen types of desire. Shodashi also refers to the sixteen syllable mantra, which consists of the fifteen syllable (Panchadasakshari) mantra plus a final seed syllable. The importance of Goddess Tripura Sundari in Tripura can be understood from the fact that it is considered one of the 51 pithasthanas associated with the religion of Hinduism. She has a third eye on Her forehead, usually four armed and clad in red or golden in colour, depending on the meditational form. She holds five arrows of flowers, a noose, a goad and sugarcane or bow. The noose represents attachment, the goad represents repulsion, the sugarcane represents the mind and the arrows are the five sense objects. She is the heavily ornamented and sits on a ‘Simhasanam’ before Srichakra. Srichakram is the most sacred thing for Hindus.

The Das Mahavidya is a group of ten aspects of Devi or Shaktism. Das/ Dus means ten, Maha means great and Vidya means knowledge. The words come from the root of Sanskrit words and put together, it means the spread of knowledge, enlightenment, and/ or nirvana. The Ten Mahavidyas are known as Wisdom Goddesses.
The rise of Mahavidyas was an important turning point in Shaktism and marked the rise of Tantras during the post-Puranic era. During innumerous tantric pujas and sadhanas, worshipping and expressing devotion to the ten immensely powerful forms of the tantra goddess is called Das Mahavidya. The ten forms of Shakti are:
Kali This “Devourer of Time” is worshipped as the very essence of the Brahman or the Supreme Self. Kali is regarded as the Supreme Deity of Kalikula systems.
Tara The Goddess who Saves, Guides and Protects. She offers the ultimate knowledge necessary for salvation. This Mahavidya is also known as Neel Saraswati.
Lalita Tripura-Sundari The Goddess, also known as Shodashi, is the One Who is the Most Beautiful in the Three Worlds. She is the Supreme Deity of the Srikula systems. She is also the “Tantric Parvati” or the “Moksh Mukut”.
Bhuvaneshwari This Goddess is the Mother or Janani of the whole world; Her entire Body is the Cosmos.
Bhairavi The Fierce Warrior Goddess.
Chhinnamasta The Self-Decapitated Goddess, who holds her own neck in her hands.
Dhumavati The Widow Goddess or the Goddess of death.
Bagalamukhi The Goddess Who Paralyzes Enemies.
Matangi The “Tantric Saraswati”, also the Prime Minister of Lalita.
Kamala The “Tantric Lakshmi”, also the Goddess on the Lotus.
Legend Behind the Das Mahavidya Puja
Once during their various love games, things got out of hand between Shiva and Parvati. What started as a jest, turned into a serious matter and Shiva furiously threatened to walk out on Parvati. She tried to coax and cajole Shiva but nothing could calm him. Left with no other choice, she multiplied herself in 10 forms for 10 different directions. Hence, no matter how hard Shiva tried to escape, there would always be a form of Parvati guarding all escape routes.
Finally, Shiva realized the manifested truths of each of the Shakti’s forms, and he understood the eternal nature of their mutual love. This awareness made him spiritually awakened, making it true for not only the Great God but also for us mortals. This is why the forms of Parvati are collectively referred to as The Great Goddesses of Wisdom, known in Sanskrit as Mahavidyas, who are always guiding and inspiring us to unfold our inner truths.

Who is Lalita Mata, how did she originate?
Tumblr media
It is told in Brahmanda Purana that taking the name of Lord Shiva once gives the same result as taking the name of Maha Vishnu a thousand times. Similarly, taking the name of Mother Lalita once gives results equal to taking 1000 names of Lord Shiva. Let us know what we will know in today's article:-
1. Who is Lalita Mata?
2. How did Lalita Mata originate?
3. Mantra of Lalita Mata and 10 Mahavidyas
4. Benefits and advantages of reciting Lalita Chalisa
1. Who is Lalita Mata?
Lalita is the form of Mother Goddess Sati-Parvati. Lalita Mata is also known as Tripura Sundari, Shodashi and Lalita Tripurasundari. Mata Tripura Sundari is one of the 10 Mahavidyas.
There are three forms of Mother Lalita. Tripura Sundari in the form of an 8 year old girl, Shodashi at the age of 16 and the young form of mother Lalita is known as Tripura Sundari. Mother Lalita Tripura Sundari is expert in 16 arts, that is why she is also called Shodashi. Lalita Mata's birth anniversary is celebrated every year on the full moon date of Magh month. During Navratri, Lalita Panchami fast is observed along with Skandamata on the fifth day of Navratri. It is also called Upang Lalita Vrat. According to the Puranas, Lalita Mata has two arms. This mother is of fair complexion and is seated on a bloody lotus. According to the Dakshinamargi scriptures, Goddess Lalita has the place of 'Chandi'. Their method of worship is similar to that of Goddess Chandi. The meditative form of Goddess Lalita is very bright and luminous. Lalita Mata can be worshiped anytime but worshiping her on Lalita Jayanti or Lalita Panchami has special significance. On the day of Lalita Jayanti, there is a crowd of devotees of Mother Goddess in the temples. Skandamata and Lord Shiva are also worshiped on this day.
By worshiping Goddess Lalita, devotees attain happiness, prosperity and salvation. People become free from the bondage of life and death.
Lalita Mata's name comes third among the 10 Mahavidyas. The fast of Lalita Panchami is considered very auspicious and auspicious. It is believed that the person who worships Lalita Devi with true heart and full devotion gets the special blessings of Lalita Mata. Regarding this fast, Lord Shri Krishna has said that this fast is going to give happiness and wealth. Those who are childless get the happiness of having children. This fast is observed to pray for the happiness and long life of the child. Next we will know the mantra of Lalita Mata and which are the 10 Mahavidyas. But before that let us know the origin story of Lalita Mata.
2. How did Lalita Mata originate?
In the Puranas we find two stories about the origin of Lalita Mata. According to the story of Devi Purana, the story of origin of Lalita Mata is related to the sacrifice (death) of Mother Sati. Who is Goddess Sati? Let us know how the story of mother Lalita's origin is connected with her death.
Sati Ji, the incarnation of Mother Adishakti, is the daughter of Maharaj Daksh. When Sati saw Lord Shiva, she became fascinated by him and decided to marry him. Despite Maharaj Daksh not wanting, he married Sati to Lord Shiva.
Although Maharaj Daksh married Sati to Lord Shiva but he was not satisfied with that marriage. Mother Sati married as per her wish. Daksh did not like anything about Shivaji's behavior or attire.
Brahma Ji gave Maharaj Daksh the post of guardian of the people i.e. Prajapati. After getting the post of Prajapati, Maharaj Daksh became more arrogant. Often the attainment of great authority leads to arrogance in the mind. Who is like this in the world? One who is not intoxicated by attaining dominance. Once Brahma ji organized a religious assembly to formulate the religion. Great sages and gods were present in this religious gathering. Lord Shiva was also present in that meeting.
When Daksh Prajapati arrived there, all the sages, sages and gods stood up to welcome him. Only Brahma ji and Lord Shankar remained sitting at their places. Brahma ji is the mental father of Daksh Prajapati. Daksh bowed to Lord Brahma. Daksh Prajapati did not like Shankar ji sitting because Brahma ji was his father, hence he felt it was right for him not to stand, but Shiv ji was his son-in-law, so his not standing and not greeting him felt like an insult to Daksh. Prajapati Daksh was especially pained by the fact that his son-in-law Shankar ji did not salute him. Distressed by this, Maharaja Daksh strongly condemned Shankar ji. Shankar ji was called uncivilized and corrupt. They even cursed him that he would not get any part in any yagya. Even after this, Maharaj Daksh's anger did not subside.
Prajapati Daksh organized a huge yagya with the aim of humiliating Lord Shankar. All the sages, sages, gods and goddesses were invited to that yagya but Shankar ji and Mata Sati were not invited for the yagya. Seeing all the sages, sages and gods leaving in their respective planes, Goddess Sati asks Shankar ji where all these people are going. Then Lord Bholenath Shankar ji tells Devi Sati that your father Maharaj Daksh has organized a huge yagya. All these people are going to participate in that yagya. Goddess Sati said – Lord, I have not gone to my maternal home for a long time, a Yagya is being performed there, so my sisters will also definitely come. If you have permission, then both of us should also go there, even though they have not invited us, but it has been said that permission is not required to go to parents and teachers. Lord Shankar ji said that you are absolutely right that one does not need permission to go to parents and teachers. One can visit parents' and teachers' places even without inviting them. But here the matter is different. If someone believes in opposition then there is no benefit in going there. Maharaj Daksh does not like our coming there, he has deliberately not invited us, hence it would not be entirely appropriate to go there. Therefore, O Goddess, it would be appropriate to give up the idea of going there.
Even after the persuasion of Lord Shiva, Mother Sati started insisting on going to the Yagya. When Mother Sati did not agree, Lord Shankar ji sent her along with his followers Veerbhadra and Nandi. When Sati reached her peak, everyone started ignoring her. Maharaja Daksh did not show him any respect. When the sisters saw her, they started smiling sarcastically and said among themselves that look, Sati has come without invitation. There he met only his mother with love. When Goddess Sati came to the Yagyashala, she saw that all the gods had come there but no one had come there for Lord Shiva. Sati asks her father Maharaj Daksh why such contempt for Lord Shiva? Maharaj Daksh says very good and bad things about Shiva, he says that he does not consider Shiva as a god. He is the master of ghosts and devils. Gonna be naked. The one who applies crematorium ashes to his body and wears a garland of bones is not worthy of sitting in the ranks of the gods. Who will give him away? Hearing the words of Maharaj Daksh, Sati's eyes turned red in anger and she started saying that even if the name of Lord Shiva comes up in the context of conversation unexpectedly, all the sins of the person taking his name are destroyed. Who has the power to destroy the entire creation in a moment. They are my master. You hate Shiva like this. Your end is near, Maharaj.
For a woman, her husband is heaven. A woman who hears derogatory words about her husband has to go to hell. You have hatred towards Lord Shiva. Therefore, I will immediately abandon this body of mine, born from your intercourse, because this body is like a skeleton for me. Saying this, Sati meditated on Lord Shiva and burnt her body in the fire of Yagya Kund. Mother Sati's divine love for her husband is a great role model for women even today. Angered by her father's insult to her husband, Sati jumped into the Yagya Kund and sacrificed her life. It is from here that the story of Sati becoming Shakti begins. Seeing Mata Sati immolating herself in the Yagya Kund, Veerbhadra got angry and cut off Daksh's head and threw it away. When Lord Shiva came to know about this, he became distraught in love for Mother Sati and lost his senses. After this, Lord Shiva became sad and started the Tandava dance by carrying the body of Mother Sati on his head. He started roaming around the world carrying the dead body of Mata Sati on his shoulder. Due to this condition of Lord Shiva, the order of the entire world started deteriorating.
Seeing such a dire situation, Lord Vishnu was forced to cut the body of Mother Sati into pieces with his Sudarshan Chakra. After this, wherever the body parts of Mata Sati fell, Shakti from her body parts began to reside at those places in various forms and Shakti Peethas were formed there. In this way, wherever Sati's body parts and jewelery fell, Shaktipeeths came into existence.
There is mention of 108 Shaktipeeths in Devi Bhagwat, while 72 Shaktipeeths are mentioned in Devi Geeta. Whereas 51 Shaktipeeths have been discussed in Devi Purana. It is said that Mother Sati's heart had fallen in Naimishrai. Goddess Sati left her body with Lord Shankar in her heart. By keeping Lord Shankar in the heart, she is called by the name of Lalita. Therefore Naimish is considered to be a Linga Dharini Shakti Peetha place, here Lord Shiva is worshiped in the form of Linga and there is a temple of Mother Lalita Devi here.
